Ida was superb. I have been a fan of hers for decades, from interesting on screen characters, to her no-nonsense get-to-it intensity as a director, she was indeed one of the best in the industry.

What a beauty. Remember her from the 50's with her husband Howard Duff in Mr Adams and Eve. She won NY Film Critics award for best actress in 1942 in The Hard Way. Never nominated for an Oscar, while many - many - unworthy actresses actually won.

Love all of her work! Ida was amazing both in front of and behind the camera. Why are there no statues and streets named after her? A GIANT of cinema.

I didn't know that Ida Lupino was a Director for most of my life, but recently I have notice that Ms. Lupino would be on many early Television shows as their Director. 'Have Gun for Hire,' has several and I've seen her work on other shows on T.V. Pretty neet.

She also directed an episode of the original Twilight Zone. The only person start in an episode (The Sixteen Milliliter Shrine- season 1) and directed one (The Mask- season 5)

I am a Pakistani fan of miss Ida Lupino. I have watched almost all of her films both as an actress and as a director, including some of her TV work (She directed probably the best Twilight Zone episode ever, THE MASKS).

Ms. Lupino was one extremely talented individual. She acted in, directed, and also authored movies. And she did it all during the height of sexist Hollywood!

I love the film Devotion. Ida Lupino’s portrayal of Emily Bronte was Oscar worthy. People make such a big deal about women directors now but imagine being one in the 1950’s that to me is a big deal and I’m am sure there were others like Dorothy Arzner who directed Dance Girl Dance who will never get the respect they deserve. I think more highly of these women then the upcoming women directors of today because they had to work hard to prove themselves in a very sexist bigoted world of yesteryear.

In fact Dorothy Arzner was the only woman to direct sound films regularly before Ida, and the first woman member of the DGA. But nobody before or since was as versatile as Ms Lupino.
