Hey Jake its Heath. The kid you've never met before lmao we should all go fishing and you guys can make me look like an idiot because I don't know what I'm doing at all still.
@@drz400s8 Hey Frogwald, it’s Tanner. I’m the guy you just met in the comment section. We should link up and smoke a fat blunt sometime. Keep up the great replying man.
Hey brother, I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I love it. Believe it or not, it’s been something that my dad and I have been able to bond over and it’s given us the idea to build out an f-350 that he has. You are a ballsy dude, and it’s a lot of fun to follow your journey.
You should do a video on supplies you like to use and clothes you trust for the outdoors. It's tough to find a solid piece of clothing sometimes and you really have put yours to the test.
This is free press for Ford and showing that their trucks can withstand all that punishment and the cold. With these Fords you can modify the hell out of it and it will still run like a champ.
Hit that tailgate cover with steel wool or sand paper. That’ll change it to a brushed finish and it’ll be less slick. Do even circular motions when refinishing it so it looks even.
For the tailgate of your truck don't put down adhesive grip tape just go to the home section of walmart (or whenever you prefer) and get the grippy shelf and drawer liner. It comes in a roll that you can use when it's wet and then roll up and put away when it's not.
Pro tips for working on stainless steel surfaces from restaurant industry: for appliances, no slip restaurant mats cut to size. For cutting boards, a thin damp dish towel
Thanks for the video. Welcome back from Montana. Your camping has encouraged those on a budget to modify van, trailer, box truck, school bus or just get a truck camper.
Would love to have a goal zero setup like that..but there hella expensive ..i need that kind of power to camp linger then 1 night due to power i need for power chair and medical needs lol but still live to camp out as much as possible ...nice setup and truck..i have a 2011 f150 xl and i make it work..good job maverick..love the vids..keep em coming..
So that's how Aaron slept in the back seat, there wasn't one! I'm guessing we will see a longer video on the Goal Zero Yeti 3000x and how you connected the solar panels. Man! Goal Zero must be impressed with your channel and if they sent the solar panels also... Well be glad you don't have to report gifts to the IRS. They definitely showed you some love!
Sorry guys! I ‘m a retired CPA. I think the IRS would consider them taxable income since they are in kind payment for advertising. Mav, check with your tax preparer if you haven’t already.
You do a great job my guy love watching your videos, thank you for all the inspiration and videos you do. Awesome quality and awesome personality. Can't wait to get my first weekend trip in going, starting the entry level way, but it's come along way for you so I can't wait to get accustomed to the lifestyle. God bless brother keep on keeping on
Hey Mav.... do you only drive the truck in reverse? Seems you rolled back the odometer from 77,000 miles when you bought it to 25,000 miles now.... I had to listen to it twice! LOL Great video by the way.... I'm outfitting a Tundra right now for overlanding... thanks for all the tips and info on what works and what doesn't! Keep them coming! More sheath truck camping would be fantastic!
i was thinking maybe you should get the Emergency escape Hammer for car windows in case of fire or some other major thing in the bed truck and the front cabin. defo look for a bigger truck so maybe u can place the battery away from your sleeping bed. anyway keep it up dude it makes me want to be more independent watching your amazing videos
A Goal Zero specific video would be nice. How long things run using it, how solar panels hook up and what other parts needed to get it fully functioning.
I’ve been wanting to see your setup for awhile. This was a great in-depth description of it. After meeting you I’ve been planning to do the same...not start a UA-cam channel but definitely truck camping. I’m in market for a camper top like yours. Or even a small truck bed camper for a short bed.
Mav, what about welding magnets ? They are triangle and you can get them on the cheap at harbor freight. They would hold stuff in place on your tail gate. You could use those to put down a liner then pic it up when done.
Mav: You talk about being able to charge your boat batteries off your Yeti power station. Would you please show in a video, or video segment, how you actually make the connection between the power station and the boat? Can you charge the boat batteries while driving down the road? That's really what I'm interested in knowing is if you can charge boat batteries while driving. Yeah, you plug in an extension cord but how do you secure it while driving so it doesn't drag on the ground yet allows for a full turning radius? If you can charge while driving that would be fantastic.
Hey Mav, awesome video, but didn't you show us a water reservoir (tube) that you could pressurize on that you had on your roof / topper? What happened to it, was it too heavy or did you need the space for the canopy? Keep up the grate Vlogs, its awesome to see your adventures. How about doing a Vlog about winter camping what you do to stay warm beside the zero degree bag for us southerners.
Honestly I think you need to ditch the giant drawers. They leave you so little room in there, I'm sure you could come up with a better storage solution.
I don’t think he prioritizes having a roomy back, he tends to only sleep in there as he cooks on his tailgate and spends his time outside of the truck mostly- plus having extra room in the cab for whoever is riding shotgun to stow their belongings.
Ahhh the bike inner tube impressed me I have a tiny leak aka “big leak” from my sliding window. I was going to try something else but I like your idea.
Knowing me, I'd cut up a long dresser that is already equipped with pull out drawers, add some plywood pieces, and also use the drawers as the base for a bed. One horizontal drawer pull out at the tailgate, one length wise in the truck bed, all in the form of an L. And then reassemble shorter width dressers for storage and table tops.
Alright Mav. Where you at? I’m thinking some winter camping truck cap style. Maybe some deep fried squirrels-pre frozen fishing, you know Some outdoor stuff. Polish off a 12 pack. Yep. Hit me up.
i know youve prob been told this before but you should use flat screws on that tailgate cover instead of rounded, it would just look cleaner in my opinion, other than that your rig is built just right i think
Can you please make a video on cleaning your truck before going to the next campsite. Your truck is so dirty that it would look satisfying to see it get washed.

Hey Mav that is quite the setup you have made for yourself. Just wondering if you could go into a little more depth on how you sealed up your sliding window to the front cab. Elastic band around the paper towel will keep it unspooling. Just move thr elastic onto the roller when you need the paper towels.
Great setup! Wrap a small bungee around the paper towels when they are not in use and it will prevent them unrolling. Keep it up!
Flowers for Algernon is a great book. Read it almost 55 years ago. They made it into a movie.
An excellent read indeed 👍

Mav you could put a removeable shim in between the center of paper towel roll and bar it hangs on...will no longer unroll while raveling
Use a large rubber band on the paper towel or a Velcro strap to keep Fromm unrolling
