Dude, this truck is awesome. I have essentially the same build on a 2019 Ranger XLT 4x4, ADD bumper, lift and tires, RCI rack and RTT, etc. I'm about to go up to an F150, either reg or ext cab, and do a permanent pop-up overland bed camper build. Great inspiration!
This is literally my goal within the next year. I too have a 6 month old daughter and i plan to take her to camping as soon as the winter passes. Feels like kids nowadays needs to touch mother nature more often. In fact, we bought a 2023 F150 last year when we found out we’re expecting, so far i’ve gotten a 2.5 inch leveling kit and fitted a 34 inch tire (295/60/20) without a problem. Went on a few non-overnight trips and the ride was too rough. Planning on upgrading to the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo so my kid feels more comfortable. And that rooftop tent is EXACTLY what i am looking for! Thanks! Note to F150 owners: don’t do a leveling kit if you plan to drive on trails. Go straight for the shocks with reservoirs. The ride will kill your back and neck if u bring it offroad with a leveling kit. Do it right the first time. Two quick questions if you dont mind! 1. Did you upgrade your UCA? If so which one? 2. How is your gas consumption? Mine jumped from 12L/100km to 14.3 just from leveling and changing to bigger tires. I have the 3.5L V6 engine.
Thanks for watching! Yes, The Vertex 3" suspension lift comes with new UCA's My MPG is still great even with the new camper I recently put on. I still get like 17+ MPG. But I do have a SCT tuner than gives me better MPG
Goals! After selling my 4runner i decided on keeping a few things i had on it and a few things i never got around to installing like the midland, 8ft awning with room kit, arb twin w/wifey air. Im going with 18”s and 33”s with a front spacer lift. No major offroading just fire roads and koa. I have stomack problems so on the single flip up section where your car seat is i have a cassette toilet, its a life saver.
Nice rig and thoughtfully done. The magnet idea is cool. Have you had any issues with magnetism interfering with the radio functionality or power? I just ordered a fire extinguisher for my truck and that bed molley is a good idea!
I didn’t even think about that when installing. I haven’t noticed any issues with it since it’s magnetic to the radio mount and not the radio itself. But I’ll keep an eye on it to see if I notice anything
As far as future plans I would like to upgrade to a truck camper. Probably a Dwell Shell from a company called "AntiShanty" (Similar to a Go Fast Camper). I'm a big fan of budget gear but things I'm glad I spent the money on are (suspension, wheels, tires, RTT, and a low mileage F150)
Nice truck, I literally have the same truck, I have 2018 F150 5.0, Leer Topper and Deked System. I also have the Vertex 3” RC suspension and 35s. Also came from a Tacoma lol. My question what is your front adjustment at? Meaning how many rings do you have visible ? I am thinking of lowering mine for better ride quality, currently I have about 12 of the rings\grooves visible. I typically run it at 3 or 4 setting for street. Need to dial in for better ride. Thanks
I haven’t played around with the ring adjustment yet. Let me know what you find out when adjusting those. As far as the reservoirs go I have them set on 4 most of the time
Hello, Great Video. In process of building my 2021 f150 for overland setup. can you please let me know if you are able to open/ roll up the tonneau cover with cross bars installed? TIA
With the short bars like I have you are not able to. But I have found that there is no situation needed where rolling the cover would be of any benefit with the bars on.
for your back seat cubby holes what were the dimension? My truck is in the shop and i can't measure it and want to get started on the project. Seems like your seat is in similar position as mine.
I’ll try and do a video soon showing more in depth how I built them! Here’s the dimensions. 20”L x 14”W x 13.25”H 3/4” plywood x1 20x14” x2 20x12.5” x1 12.5x12.5”
Thanks for sharing. my plan on doing the same video hasn't been done yet. it's been a year . lol. Just a concern though, I don't think it's good to let your baby do a screen time while driving. even us adults can hurt our eyes.
Definitely 10/10. I wondered that myself before using them but they are really strong. I can rally my truck very hard and everything stays in place perfect.
I have not seen anyone run a winch on this exact style yet but I do think there’s a chance it could be done. No running since I have taken the time to trim my wheel wells a lot
They are just tiny screws that came with the magnet. The magnets also come with 3M backing so you might now need the screws. I just wanted it to be extra secure. I'll attach the link. www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Holster-Handgun-Shotgun-Revolvers/dp/B07XCK2PSG/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=1A4SD7TNQL3PV&keywords=gun+magnet&qid=1691002668&sprefix=gun+ma%2Caps%2C280&sr=8-5
My build has changed so much recently that I will have a new video coming out soon with new links. What links would you like to see? I can get them for you personally.
Hopefully this is me next year. Waiting on truck prices to be reasonable again. Have you considered something like the decked drawer system? Or for you use case are the boxes and Milwaukee pack out just fine.
With a tonneau cover a decked system would take up about 3/4 of the truck bed leaving you a small area for gear above. I have too much gear that would then no fit on top or in the drawers. Someday I want to do a truck cap. (Probably the RSI smart cap) then I will do a decked system.
Luckily the F150 has a massive payload capacity. One of the best in class. They are a full size truck after all. It’s why I chose it for my build! Had a Tacoma before and you do have to be cautious there with payload and GVWR.
@@jmcwhorter100 there’s definitely not a clear winner. It’s up to the individual and either way you will have pros and cons. My favorite things about an F150 are bigger engine, Way more cab room and storage space, can fit 35” tires pretty easy. It’s much more comfortable to travel in and can still be an off-road beast. F150 will do 95+ mph without even thinking where a Tacoma struggles above 80. So it’s just my opinion but I like having a bigger truck now that I have one. A Tacoma will fit on smaller trails technically without scratching.

Fits perfect if you keep the battery out. Thanks for watching 👍
Hey nice video, and thanks for teaching me a few things, the cargo grabber hook, can't believe I don't already have one!

Nice Build, Cool personal touches.

Looking for a truck exactly like this. But man can’t even afford a 2015 with these prices of trucks now a days. So sick dude!
Ya it’s tough right now!
Get a 13’. I love mine it’s a stx. Nothing special 4x4 with the coyote.
New sub here. Pretty damn awesome truck.
Thank you for subscribing. Appreciate it!
Moore vids like this👍💪

I love your set up. I have a 2002 F150 I’m thinking about figuring out a build for that.

With the short bars like I have you are not able to. But I have found that there is no situation needed where rolling the cover would be of any benefit with the bars on.
Did you have to take out the rear crash bars also to fit the 35s. Also what offsets are your wheels. Stance is great
Yes I did cut them out. It was super easy. I don’t have any offset.
How were you able to fit 17s on a lift? I’ve always been told if you lift, the smallest wheel you could run is an 18
Nope, 17 all day long
Hey man just got a similar truck and looking at suspension options. Did you just use the vertex coil overs or did you also pair that with a lift kit
It’s the 3.5” lift with full Vertex on front and rear. Hope that helps!
Does it drop the diff for the CV axle angle or are you just rockin it? Any issues?
@@tempusfugit3635also wondering this
Looks great, where did you mount the radio antenna?
I ended up buying the upgraded ghost antenna and mounting it on the hood using the hood mount.
I just traded in my 17 Tacoma for a f150. I do miss it but it is night and day this thing rides like a Cadillac and is so much bigger
That’s awesome!
Do you prefer the 5.0 or 3.5? Looking into getting a F-150 soon
I prefer the 3.5 but it probably just comes down to personal opinion.

Ecoboost or 5.0? Awesome build man! Looking to upgrade sometime soon from my ‘06 Tacoma.
Thank you! 3.5L Ecoboost
Hey Cole, what motor is in your truck, I love the setup!
Appreciate it man! It’s the 3.5l V6 EcoBoost
Are you running stock leaf springs in the back with this setup or did you have to upgrade for the extra tent/gear weight?
Because I have adjustable reservoir suspension I have not had to change the leaf springs 👍
Are the magnets holding your CB and hand gun strong enough over bumps and rattles? how would you rate?
Definitely 10/10. I wondered that myself before using them but they are really strong. I can rally my truck very hard and everything stays in place perfect.
How much for the cost of the modification overall? 10k?
Now that’s a question I’m not sure I want to know the answer to! Haha
@@coleeadeshaha. Now i have an idea? 😅😅😅 But cool rigs!
Will that barricade bumper accept winch, winch plate behind it with fair lead etc?
And I guess no rubbing at full flex in the front or rear? What offset are the wheels
I have not seen anyone run a winch on this exact style yet but I do think there’s a chance it could be done.
No running since I have taken the time to trim my wheel wells a lot
Can you link the molle panel you used for the bed?

Just added the Amazon link for the Molle panel and a link to a UA-cam video I did reviewing just the Molle Panel. Hope that helps 👍
Do you have any issues with rubbing running 35s?
I did in the past but not anymore. Just takes some work to cut out various things in the front wheel wells. Now I never rub
Which engine do you have in that bad boy
3.5l Ecoboost
Do you have to trim anything to run those tires?
No trimming in the rear but yes quite a fair amount of trimming in the front. But nothing crazy. Your not cutting entire wheel wells or anything
how did you mount the radio to the side like that what size screw?
They are just tiny screws that came with the magnet. The magnets also come with 3M backing so you might now need the screws. I just wanted it to be extra secure. @@coleeades sweet thank you, I was afraid plastic might crack when I screw it in.
What’s the offset on your wheels ?
No offset 👍
Will those magnets interfere with the radio?
Good question… I haven’t had any issues yet but did not think about that!
How does the suspension feel?
I’m impressed with it. It’s not quite as plush at slow speeds like some of the more expensive name brands but at higher speeds it really performs well

Also, your vehicle is not a holster.
