He's right in he's review, we had the Anakee 3 in your rentals, KTM 1190, Gs1200, Tenere 1200, and the difference is big: We get more miles, better grip, less noise and more even wear (edge to edge) in the Tourance Next. The Next it's more street oriented. We are happy with the results, also help us to save some $$$ in so many tires over the year. Great review.
Hello both of you, I have a little bmw ( 310 gs). I rode the “ metzeler tourance” ( 85/15, road/off-road) for 21000 km. So I can confirm that Metzeler makes a durable tires. Sorry for my English. Greetings from the Netherlands, Frank
I used 2 sets of the Anakee 3 on my Triumph Explorer rode all over Europe loved them no problems. Had a set on my 2016 GS Adventure from new and they wore really quickly and I had a few moments. My 2018 GS Adventure Rallye came with them on I removed these after 50 miles and now run K60 Scouts.
on my 2014 R1200GS the Annakee III's were replaced at 13,000 miles with Conti Trail Attack II. The first set was replaced 22,000 miles on them, the second 21,000 miles on them and the current set has about 17,000 mile. And the Conti's track better, no wobble, handle rain well and heat too. Northern California and Arizona riding
I'm tossed between the Tourance Next and the Michelin Road 6. Looking for more of a performance review than mileage review, but glad to hear good things about the Metzeler. i just wore the Tourance out in 3k miles on a Triumph Street Scrambler locally in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. Looking for a more road oriented tire for the twisty mountain roads.
Love your review. I ride with the TOURANCE NEXT tires on my r1200gs motorcycle. With the current pair of tires I rode more than 30K miles. I agree 100% with your opinion about the PANAKEE 3. It was very unpleasant to ride with them, held less than 7000 miles. The switch to TOURANCE NEXT brought my smile back to my face.
I absolutely loved the Anakee 3 tire. Had one in the rear combined with the Battlewing up front. I just picked up a set for the upcoming winter rain. I buy them for the rainy season in Northern CA!
I have put 17,500kms / 10,ooo miles on Annakee 3's I have driven as low a 5 C cold riding in rain and never had them slip . I have run my KLR650 130 kms/hr and hit the twisty backroads of Canada with Zero issues with both first & second generation Annakee 3 . I drove Nefoundland end to end ! With not one panic moment . 2600 kms round trip. Again I have never had an Annakee 3 lose grip . I have hit 100kms/hr through turns on back roads really pushed both Bike and tires . You miss the point on Annakee 3's they track better than other tires. I have hit pavement defects mid to 3/4's in turns and no change in my direction of travel not even a bit of slip or slide. All kinds of pavement here on our roads from actual Cement to gravel asphalt to crushed small agrigate asphalt higher tar content and not once has the Annakee slipped . Rain or shine . I have seen plus 30 degree days and cold 5 degree nights . In rain in dry . No issues the Bike tracks straight . Even with a Top Case no issues. The only thing they hated was grass what tire doesn't ! These tires are a dream to tour with and 800kms in a single day , no issues. My last set the rear tire suffered a puncture on the way to have the new ones put on . I rode the last some 30 kms plus on it flat even and still as reliable as it had been for the 17,500 kms . I have had tires in the past blew out frt and rear the 30 k ride was not a worry to me just reduced speed and did not make any fast changes to my direction of travel . Told the Shop mechanic that tire is Used up to the the Max .... Now at over 34,ooo kms and I can still get the summer out of my second set . No hesitation to put a 3rd set on. As for road noise I never noticed road noise in any tire . And no stereo or ear buds when I ride .
Completely agree here!! Previously had Panacky Three's and i have also swapped them to Tourance Next...... For exactly all the reasons you've stated! Spot on!
Surprisingly I got 19,000km from the rear Anakee 3 on a Triumph Explorer but only managed 13,000 km from the front tyre with uneven wear even with correct pressures checked regularly. The Explorer seems to be front heavy so maybe that was the reason. I found them fine for 99% on road in wet or dry conditions but I don't try and scrape the foot pegs either.
Hi guys. I am glad I've stumbled across this video as I can not agree more with your view on the Anakee 3 tyres. In my opinion these tyres should not be in production let alone put as standard on new bikes. Unfortunately BMW and others fit them a lot. The tyre wearing (rear) is terrible, flattening in the middle leaving you with drop off during leaning /cornering. The compound doesn't have good grip or feeling on dry or wet. Once I've changed them with A41's on my f850gsa the bike handling and ride transformed . The Anakee 3 might have purpose or be better in some off road situations, I can not comment on this, but I very much doubt. If you guys can use your UA-cam influence to make this tyre type obsolete, that will be much appreciated 😉. Keep up the good work with your channel, watching your videos it's a joy
i bought a transalp, it had a pair of anakee 3's on there. i think it is not a bad tyre but somehow i just feel unsure about them when riding. i do not know why. i have had other bikes and i always went with Metzeler tyres and i have never had any issues. i have driven in cold and horrendous weather with another bike which had the 777 Marathon's on there, love that tyre. it rides brilliantly and i always felt good with them. the tyres before that were old Michelin Commander's so they needed replacement.
Im too bloody late since i had bout the Ananke's and quickly noticed the noise on the front tire, so much so that ill probably change over to a Tourance before it wears out. Thanks for the review now all i need is a good seat.
Swapped mine for PR4 Trail, impressed so far on my GS, I found the Tourance Next squared very quickly, maybe my riding style! Both the Annakee and the Tourance were prone to squaring but too early to judge the PR4...
Completely agree... I've got mad mileage out of mine too. Currently at about 10k miles and look like I'll probably get another 1-2k miles. They're squared off a fair bit but they're still good. Keeping a close eye on now as I've heard that the latter 1k goes a bit quicker. Already bought the same to replace them when the time comes.
To be honest I have anakee tires rolling under my F700gs and in the wet they aint giving me much confidence to attack a corner. When its dry they are amazing.
Tourance is a brilliant tyre, ive had it on my explorer now for 12kl’s great grip around the twisties and yes they are confidence inspiring, also great in the wet , im going to say the best Iv ridden on in the wet...... nice review lad.... truth
I have 5000 miles on my Tiger 800 and the Next rear shows little if any wear. I am a 90/10 rider and I don't rip on the throttle or pull wheelies on this bike. That obviously has a lot to do with their lasting. Surprisingly they did OK in the mud, as long as you keep a little momentum going.
I’ve experienced the exact same, same bike and tyres. And like yourself Returned to the MTN rubber as before on my previous used and loved on my 1200gs
I am replacing my worn out Anakee 3's As you, I got around 7000 miles on them. Only problem I had with Anakee3 is that they flattet out on the rear tire quite fast. After looking at your video I will try Metzeler Tourance "next" time. So THANKS for the video.
+Jarle F ours squared off too which is annoying but the next’s are a great tyre. I’ve had mine since fitted for about a week and they are so much better. Thanks for the kind words about the video. Ride safe :)
If you want road biased tyres that last - you can't beat Avon Trialriders - 10-14,000 miles out of a rear (depending on bike and rider) and great in the wet too.
My 2017 1200GS came with Anakee III's and i expected great things from what i had read. And the reported noise from the front tyre is loud but seems to get less as tread depth gets lower (or i just got used to the noise and tuned it out somewhat). Whatever, piss poor design on Michelin's behalf. After running in for 2000km i went on a 3000km trip that involved approx 2K touring pretty much upright & 1K riding hard on twisty alpine roads. At end of trip with 5000km on speedo the rear tyre was worn much more than i expected and was pretty much flat across the middle. On return, riding local hills and trying to do most acceleration whilst lent over exiting corners i managed to round the back tyre off somewhat but it was shot at 8000km. The front went to 9000km. The rear tyre gave no issues wet or dry but the front would for seemingly no reason slip occasionally, even in the dry. Fortunately the slip was small & short lived but confidence in the front was low. I have never been a Michelin fan but have had good experiences with Metzeler so on went Tourance Next's. Now, with 3K on the rear & 2K on the front no issues so far, wet or dry. About 1/3 has been on unsealed roads and the Next are much better than the Anakee's were off road. The Next tread pattern mainly covers the middle 1/3 of the tyre and the edges are pure road tyre tread pattern. The Next centre tread pattern seems to make them track in loose stuff better than the Anakee's. The Next rear is wearing faster than hoped and is showing signs of flattening out. New there was circa 8.8mm in the centre of the rear and after 3000km its 6mm. Hmmmm... And on sealed roads i am tying to look after the wear rate by accelerating less aggressively than usual when vertical. Off road hower the temptation to spin the rear tyre up somewhat and rear wheel steer coming out of corners could be the cause of the wear. Projecting the wear rate on the rear will get around 10,000km and this too is disappointing considering how i am trying to minimize tyre wear and 2/3 of riding is on twisty hills roads. Another wear factor could be the large amount of immediate torque available, exacerbated with the light throttle action and the free revving engine nature. This motor just want to go, and go hard. I could enjoy the GS so much more if i could get my tyres sponsored :-)
+Peter Rick hey mate, comprehensive view, thanks :) We had much the same experience but will be glad to get Tourance next on my bike this month. I find them much better :) Ride safe matey
10,000 out of your Tourance next I’ve just changed mine at 4500 on my Tiger 1200 I’m no speed merchant but you’ve got to be riding very economically to get that mileage
Yes I had no issues with mileage, from memory I changed OEM tyres at 13,000km, fitted a set of Anakee 3's , changed the front for a Scorpion 2 at 26,000 and didn't' have to change the rear Anakee 3 until 32,000. I then swapped both out for Motoz Tractionator GPS 50/50 tyres so I could do more off road but to be honest I was kidding myself with both my ability and the weight of the Explorer. I just sold the Explorer yesterday and bought the new 2017 650 vstrom which I am stoked with. I am seriously thinking of buying a light trail bike for my off road adventures and just use the vstrom for the bitumen and good gravel roads. I live in Queensland Australia and we have no shortage of sh*t roads in this country.
+Frank Perham blimey that’s amazing mileage mate. The vstrom is a great bike and I was really impressed when I rode it :) I’m the same, I’d love to off-road but will have to do a course or two first as I’ve never done it. We have loads of rubbish roads here in the UK too. :)
The new Tiger 900 GT has Tourance Next as OEM fitment. I find them really twitchy in the rain and on muddy roads. I know a lot of GT owners don’t rate them at all.
Just put the tourance nexts on my GS after 7k on the panakies and in the wet round Scotland and Northumberland 2 weeks ago they were faultless, but I've not had chance to try them out properly in the dry yet. Metzeler were offering £30 cashback too when I got mine via their website or with a form supplied by the tyre fitter.
The £30 voucher quickly becomes insignificant when your Metzeler Roadtec 01 tyres are "trashed" by one overseas trip. I was furious that mine lasted 3700 miles on an R1200GS. (Will be going with Continental or Michelin next time)
I liked the anakee 3 . Had them out on my brother's Klr and ran them 19000 km before the rear started cupping badly . Ran the anakee 2 on my last GSA through heavy rain and no issues ever . Maybe coming off the deathwings , prefer them. Though noisy it doesn't bother me that much for the highway touring I do anyways. It seems everyone is switching up now for new brands, I've been able to get new sets of anakee 3 as spares for $200 CAD. Or £110.61 .
Metzler Tourance Next now at 12000 miles just hit the change me now indicator next week going to put another set on the good old beemer now at 112000 miles (yes I do ride alot ) no off road (unless you count my front yard ?) thanks guys
What is not mentioned here is the lack of quality control with the Next's. First set on a R1250 gsa got 13000'ks on the rear and still usable. Second set rear finished at 6000k's. Well reported that they vary in quality and useful life batch by batch. Awesome tyre on the GS's, but I won't use them again for the above reasons.
you should try Dunlop Trailsmart i am wearing the second set on my caponord. absolutely fantastic tyres, excelent dry grip, totally ignores slippery white lines as if they are not there, and the wet...oh their wet grip is beyond anything i've tried.
Explorer xcx i need a new front tyre only travelled 6800 klms and my tyre worn badly on both sides only, 90 % road riding they give great grip both wet and dry.. not happy with the low milage though. Metzler fitted standard from triumph. Was thinking the anakee 3,but not sure now, my rear tyre is still great.
Thank you for this vid. I've got the f800GS. It came with Anakee 3's on it from new. The bike has only done 4.5K so far and I have to be honest, the Anakees seem to be fairly good. I do like to get a move on in the dry, they seem to corner well so far and i've not had any twitchy moments out of them yet. I have to say though, I'm not one for putting the bike right over on its side ( mostly because of that skinny 90 wide tyre on the front ) In the wet, I slow right down any way, so again no scarey moments so far either. Watching this, and reading other f800gs riders views, I think I will be going for the Tourance EXP's when they do need changing. We're off to France with Flashtours in June, so I hope the Anakees behave until we get back. Shouldn't be far off needing changing by then I would think. Cheers
tojjer29 I have had two sets of Anakee 3 and a set of Anakee 2 before that and ride two up at a brisk pace with others on sports and sports tourers and never experienced any scared moments in which this video shares as a concern. And that’s touring on crappy Australian windy mountain roads so not sure on the accuracy on this video?
thanks for the comments buddy. They are good tyres and exceptional in the dry, but for some reason for us we dont get the mileage out of them that we get from the Metzelers... Have a blast in France :)
Just wanted to add my 2 pennies here. - Never paid an interest in tyres EVER! Had my 65plate R1200r Sport for 2 years, never skipped or missed a heart beat, ever. Never actually thought about it, just rode the bike with no issues ever, and mostly in Dynamic mode. A few weeks ago test rode a new GS Rallye, went out for 2 hours, ok weather wasn't great but it was terrible. Traction Control kicked in on this GS FAR too many times for my liking!!!! Got back to the dealership, spoke to the sales guy about it, turns out the GS that I just rest rode had Anakee 3's on!! Got home to check my R1200r and they are Metzeler's!!!! I said to the sales guy that there is NO WAY I want Anakee's on my new GS - Please see to this if you can!! Apparently its just pot-luck on new models, you get what you're given!! By some miracle, my GS Rallye has arrived in the dealership and has Metzelers on!! I am so happy!!! Great channel by the way!
Hey John. Glad your enjoying the vids. We love making them. Interesting that your findings with the tyres were what we found too. As Mark says ‘panikee 3’s’. Metzeler all the way ;) Ride safe matey
Viaja seguro
Very interesting and informative guys. I have 6k on my Anakees and I'm starting to think about changing them; have had Pirelli Scorpion Trail IIs and Michelin PR4 Trails in mind, but these Metzelers are worth thinking about. Cheers, Andy
they are great tyres. we have had them on all of ours now i think, although our new bikes came with Anakee's and the do 'let go in the wet' quite a bit! back to Metzelers for us! :)
How about the Metzeler Roadtech 01? Hap anakee3 and Tourane next. Have gone 7000 km and the have not squared off yet. A bit noisy but the title is out of this world!
Just purchased a 2018 r1200gsa rallye te fitted with anekee 3 just over 2000mls on, after first ride noticed what I could only describe as a roaring type noise from the front of the bike almost like a band sander, could this be down to the tyres or a bit turbulence aswell. Coming from air cooled tc never noticed it.
Sad review weekend boys . 25 miles ...... Over 40,ooo kms on Annakee 3's with none of the issues these people report . No noise No panic never at a loss for grip . Where I live we say if you don't like the weather wait 5 mins . I can expect the weather to change several times on a long ride just around my province . I have done wood roads and goat paths. I am slightly addicted to twisty back roads where Sport Bikes generally rule . When I get a sport bike rider saying they could not stay with me on the KLR I feel pretty good . I think I might stay with the 3's because of my blacktop addiction. Very tempted by the Newer Annakee Wilds for a bit more fun in the dirt . Tempted . Safe Travels everyone !!
they are great tyres in the dry and wet, although we dont get on with them... as we said in the video, tyres are very subjective, but the biggest thing for us is the mileage...
2006 R-1200 GS Tourance exp 10,000 miles before wear indicator did its job then came Tourance next over 10,000 Mi up til now wear indicator lead me to believe it wont show up for another two or three thousand miles ? I commute 270 miles every week ( Yes I ride a lot ) 99,95 % high speed expressway the other .05% is when I cross the front yard to get on the road In Florida there are hot days and very hot days also there are rainy days and monsoon days The M next wins every day better wet traction better wear better overall rideabilty so I guess we agree 100% ?
I will admit that I’m not the best rider in the world, so I have a hard time deciphering if my Anakee 3’s on my GSA become “panicky”. When do you encounter the undesirable behavior from them? Maybe I’ll try Tourance next.
Hey Phil, thanks for the question. We found that in the wet more than any other time, when cornering they didnt grip as well as other tyres such as the Tourance Nexts etc. But generally they dont seem to grip as much so we noticed that there was a little more slippage on the road and on corners, which in turn reduced the confidence of the rider, but back to the tourance nexts and confidence was back. hope that helps
I finally changed the Annakee 3's on my BMW R1200GS Rallye and it only took a short ride on my Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 tires to confirm my dislike of the Annakees that came stock. The horrible noise from the front is gone along with the resonance that seemed to make the bike feel like something wasn't quite right. I could never put my finger on exactly what I didn't like with the Annakee 3's, apart from the obvious noise but they just didn't feel right for me and detracted from the enjoyment of riding.
I've just done 5500 miles on a anakee 3 rear on my gsa and worn them much further than the one on the vid- I'm not a big guy either, like 12 stone. People seem to be getting far more wear from them than this..? Gonna try some tourance next bases on what you guys say and others recommendations..
+Phillip Mykytiuk the Tourane next tyres we found to give loads of miles and I find they give me a little more confidence too as I find the anakees a little sketchy. Not sure why yours have worn more than others :/
I also agree. Rode two R1200gs adventures back to back, one with Tourance next the other with Anakee 3’s fitted and the Michelins are much much more noisy. Also have a 1200 Rallye with Karoo street tires fitted. The noise from the Anakees is comparable to that from the Karoo streets with a much more aggressive pattern. Michelins tires are very good, but usually very noisy whether their motorcycle or car rubber.
Tyre Finder in Redruth. They have shops around the county but there is a guy called Carmello who fits the bike tyres.. He is a legend and such a nice guy... we go there for ours
I had a set on a Africa Twin 750. Despite running factory dimensions, the front did not work with the rear. Had no front chicken strip despite still having plenty at the back. Just dis not trust them.
I've just picked up a new GSA about 2 weeks ago, run it in then done a euro trip on it... hate the Paniki 3's ... awful .. noisiest tyre I've ever had and the grip isn't up there with what I expect from Michelin..
Hola from Veracruz, Mexico, what´s your choice?, for road, conmuting, every day, and some off road sometimes, all kind of terrain, knowing new places, Pirelli scorpion trail 2 or Metzeler Tourance Next ?? (or maybe another)
Tourance nexts or roadtec 01's are what we use at the moment and find them great. We have been to Wales (in the UK) on mild dirt roads etc with the nexts and found them ok, although you might like the karoo streets from Metzeler which are suited to all kinds of terrain. video coming shortly.
Jose Manuel Leal Marquez The Pirelli Scorpion trail 2 is I think the best 20/80 adv tire ever for someone that ride hard in the twisties and that is more on the road , I like the Mitas E-09 for a 50/50 tire , you can still go fast on the street with out lousing control and they are not to bad off road if you slow down a bite more than with a full knobby tire . I have done more than 11,000 km on a GS1200 with the Scorpion .
Interesting. The Anakee 3 is my favorite tire. It’s far better off-pavement than people give it credit for. And due to the silica content it’s the best-performing rain tire I’ve ever ran.
Hey guys - where/how did you create your intro? In the process of updating the channel. What editing software do you use? I am looking into Lighworks after years of using the humble Microsoft Movie Maker! Many thanks!
I had the Tourance next on my GS, now Pirelli Scorpion 2 on the GSA, they are quite comparable in durability. Gonna try a road tyre next time, like the Metzeler Roadtec, dont do offroad anyway. Any experience to share?
+vriendelijkegroet hey mate, unfortunately I haven't got any experience of the roadtec but love the tourance. I like the pilot 4's but not had them on a GS only an RT. Would be interested to hear how you get on with them though :) Ride safe
I have Metzelar Tourance Next on my Triumph Explorer which I have found superb in the wet & dry. At 1200km though the drone from the front end is awful at anything up to 60mph, really distracting. I hope it wears out again at a greater mileage. Any experience of that on the GS's?
Not sure why the majority of GS/GSA, and other "adventure" bike riders don't just use Sport Touring tyres anyway. 99% of GS riders don't go off road so why put up with the noise and inferior grip and wear of a so called "dual purpose" tyre, tyres which are actually pretty useless off road anyway (certainly in the wet)
mmmmm only 7.000miles from a tyre not good at all , i have M. TOURANCE on my f650gs and still good grip after 9.000 miles . ps. and grip good in the WET .
Metzeler never again! The tire has a bad turning radius! When you use up 70% of the Metzeler, change it because it loosens uncontrollably on a dry road. I drove them on a GSA 1200.
Hmmm disappointed everyone doesn’t love them as much as me. They have 216 reviews on revzilla and it’s almost 5 stars so obviously I’m not the only one that loves them ha
I have a Tiger Explorer 1200XC first pair of Tourance next 22000km, secont pair 21900km and know i have Pirelli Scorpion 2 20.000km and not yet on the end of their life
yep , i like metzelers , hence the new roadtec 01 , very impressed so far on my gs , granted they are a sports touring tyre , ie no off road ability to speak of , but they actually have a front that fits ,,, worthy of a thought for next time.
Anakee 3... the worst possible tyres in the world to seat,do a google search on the subject, countless problems.Even pro tyre fitters using machines have problems.
Thanks for the kind words. They are exceptional tyres indeed and glad you e had the same experience with them too
Hello both of you,
I have a little bmw ( 310 gs). I rode the “ metzeler tourance” ( 85/15, road/off-road) for 21000 km. So I can confirm that Metzeler makes a durable tires.
Sorry for my English.
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Frank
Fab update, thanks buddy, we like the tyres too. Ride safe :)
thanks for the advice. I've got a F800GSA with anakee 3 which need replacing and will probably go with the metzeler tourance next.
Panakee’s eek! Hehe
on my 2014 R1200GS the Annakee III's were replaced at 13,000 miles with Conti Trail Attack II.
I buy them for the rainy season in Northern CA!
good stuff, not every tyre is good for everyone..... not our favourite but hey ho :)
Hi from rainy Ireland Vic, I'd fancy the Anakee for my 650 V strom, and wonder are you on a GS 1200 like these guys?
Spot on!
great stuff... cant argue with personal preference of tyres and they are good in the wet and dry as well as providing great mileage :)
+Frank Perham that’s good mileage matey.
I agree. Thumbs up for Torrance next.
Im too bloody late since i had bout the Ananke's and quickly noticed the noise on the front tire, so much so that ill probably change over to a Tourance before it wears out. Thanks for the review now all i need is a good seat.
I had anakees on my GS. But changed to Metzler tourance. Awesome tyres. Grippy. And quite.
Swapped mine for PR4 Trail, impressed so far on my GS, I found the Tourance Next squared very quickly, maybe my riding style! Both the Annakee and the Tourance were prone to squaring but too early to judge the PR4...
+Ian Du Rose will be interesting how you get on with the PR4's :)
Ian Du Rose I have a few mates who have not had good milage out of the PR4's but they loved the grip!
Completely agree... I've got mad mileage out of mine too. Currently at about 10k miles and look like I'll probably get another 1-2k miles. They're squared off a fair bit but they're still good. Keeping a close eye on now as I've heard that the latter 1k goes a bit quicker. Already bought the same to replace them when the time comes.
thats why we like them, for our tours we need the mileage and i find them great in the wet and dry..... :)
To be honest I have anakee tires rolling under my F700gs and in the wet they aint giving me much confidence to attack a corner. When its dry they are amazing.
Tourance is a brilliant tyre, ive had it on my explorer now for 12kl’s great grip around the twisties and yes they are confidence inspiring, also great in the wet , im going to say the best Iv ridden on in the wet...... nice review lad.... truth
Thanks for the kind words mate. Totally agree. Excellent tyres all round 👍
I put 35000 klicks on Meltzer Tourance in wet and dry on my 2011 tiger 800.
+Peter Rick hey mate, comprehensive view, thanks :)
We had much the same experience but will be glad to get Tourance next on my bike this month. I find them much better :)
Ride safe matey
The vstrom is a great bike and I was really impressed when I rode it :)
I’m the same, I’d love to off-road but will have to do a course or two first as I’ve never done it.
We have loads of rubbish roads here in the UK too. :)
oh please try to ride in greece you will never think your roads are bad again I promise you
Hi why do so many people not like the metzeler tourance next tyres on the triumph tiger they talk about tramlining
Metzeler were offering £30 cashback too when I got mine via their website or with a form supplied by the tyre fitter.
cool, ill have a look into that as mine need doing very soon.... definately before our next tour in Sept!! eek!
www.metzeler.com/msite/promo/30cashback
thats fab, thanks mate :)
adrianbarrie13 you will love the 'Next'.
Like bikes there seems to be tyres for everyone. Glad you liked the anakee’s although we couldn’t get on with them. Ride safe buddy
Awesome tyre on the GS's, but I won't use them again for the above reasons.
you should try Dunlop Trailsmart
i am wearing the second set on my caponord. absolutely fantastic tyres, excelent dry grip, totally ignores slippery white lines as if they are not there, and the wet...oh their wet grip is beyond anything i've tried.
+dimos k cool thanks mate, will have a look although we are loving the next’s and even more so the roadtec 01’s
Just awesome tyres :)
Great advice from people who use their tyres well.
thanks buddy :)
I have to say though, I'm not one for putting the bike right over on its side ( mostly because of that skinny 90 wide tyre on the front )
In the wet, I slow right down any way, so again no scarey moments so far either.
@@gregtreble9086 Thanks for the reply. If they behave in France I'll stick with them. Cheers
thanks for the comments buddy. They are good tyres and exceptional in the dry, but for some reason for us we dont get the mileage out of them that we get from the Metzelers... Have a blast in France :)
Very opportune guys thank you. 👍
How quiet are they though? I found that the Panicky 3 were really loud on my 2015 GSA
Metzeler all the way ;)
Ride safe matey
I just replace my old Tourance Next after get 18,940km mileage with it to a new Anakee 3 yesterday. My bad 😅
Viaja seguro
What about the grip?, which is the most important thing as far as I'm concerned.
Are the Meztlers quiet on the road? My factory BMW tires are loud as hell. New bike
Yes really quiet :)
How about the Metzeler Roadtech 01? Hap anakee3 and Tourane next. Have gone 7000 km and the have not squared off yet. A bit noisy but the title is out of this world!
+Marius Abotnes cool. Not tried them but the Tourane next are Fab :)
I ride on forest road dirt roads about 10% to 20% of the time. How are the Metzler Tourance Next tires on the dirt?
So long story short Metzeler Tourane next is the tyre for me if you do not ride like a maniac you should get 10k plus
Panicky 3's is just the best thing ever.
What is your impression with regards to road noise when comparing Anakee 3 with Tourance Next?
+Niels-Bo Lundberg much much quieter with the Tourane next's.
the Anakees are so loud!
Niels-Bo Lundberg I agree regarding the noise from the Michelin Anakee 3s. I much prefer my Metzeler Torrance Nexts.
7k?, looks like there’s about another 3k left in those tires.
would love to know where you get your tyres. Online & self fit or a local tyre shop.
I'm in the TR6 area & had to order online.
Tyre Finder in Redruth. They have shops around the county but there is a guy called Carmello who fits the bike tyres.. He is a legend and such a nice guy... we go there for ours
@@RiderCamTV Thank you so much for this & forgive my spamming of comments. I had a binge on all your videos from start to finish.
I just put the Tourance next tyres on my GS .
great choice :)
+NomadBiker exactly what we got from them too. Hope the trip was good :)
Battlax A41's for me.
RiderCamTV Great!! Tanks for answer., will wait for that review.
No probs mate. Ride safe :)
+MAPPED hey mate. I use Final Cut Pro and for the intro adobe after effects and apple motion. Great prices of software :)
Would be interested to hear how you get on with them though :)
Ride safe
Try the Bridgstone A40 Adventures next 👍
+NomadBiker are they good?
do you do any off road riding as iv just bought a 800tiger and havnt got any exsperance of dual purpose tyres.
Not done anything since my younger younger years but some stuff coming soon to the channel :)
I have Metzelar Tourance Next on my Triumph Explorer which I have found superb in the wet & dry. At 1200km though the drone from the front end is awful at anything up to 60mph, really distracting. I hope it wears out again at a greater mileage. Any experience of that on the GS's?
Hey mate. No not had that issue, if anything they are quiet on the gsa. :)
Did you get any white-line-wander from the Tourance?
Not too much to be honest. They seem to cope well with this :)
I do on my tiger 800, so does Russ from Roadcraft Nottingham, he changed his to Avon av54
It's like buying shoes, you get 'em 'cos they look nice . . . . Tourance Next
dont like the price tags so much though... hahha
+Simoncelli 58 too try matey
You should go to the ukgser forum and start a tyre thread 🤔😂
i wonder what would happen if we did? people seem very partial to one or the other. It's almost like apple and microsoft... hahhaah
RiderCamTV 🙉🙈
+DervMan 😜👍
mmmmm only 7.000miles from a tyre not good at all , i have M.
Ich habe den Metzeler auf meinem Motorrad und bin super zufrieden.
+Golfyarmani Sie sind große Reifen. Wir sind auch sehr zufrieden mit Ihnen. Fahre sicher :)
Golfyarmani it is just my opinion we as cyclist are getting screwed over by MC tires
Anakee 3 very good tyre no problems!! 30.000 km like new
Great stuff matey. Good to see someone likes them. They aren’t all bad indeed, just not our cup of tea :)
I got Metzeler Next on my Tiger 1200 and i hate it coz of the noise from it.....
thats odd, as we find them really quiet, but not to everyones taste :)
Have you tried anakee adventure?
not tried them but if they are like the anakee 3's ill stick to Metzeler :)
Hmmm disappointed everyone doesn’t love them as much as me. They have 216 reviews on revzilla and it’s almost 5 stars so obviously I’m not the only one that loves them ha
great in the dry indeed, very great infact, but for us, they arent that good in the wet and we dont get the mileage out of them :(
I have a Tiger Explorer 1200XC first pair of Tourance next 22000km, secont pair 21900km and know i have Pirelli Scorpion 2 20.000km and not yet on the end of their life
ah , why no roadtec o1 ,, thats the question ,
+tom thompson just from previous experience that the metzelers were good
yep , i like metzelers , hence the new roadtec 01 , very impressed so far on my gs , granted they are a sports touring tyre , ie no off road ability to speak of , but they actually have a front that fits ,,, worthy of a thought for next time.
+tom thompson that’s true. Will definately look at them for next time :)
Hi Tom I have fitted the Roadtec01 to my GSA and love them so much we made a video about it. Ride safe.
I have a R1150GS with K60 Scout, use to last around 9000-10000 mil! Think that whya beat your crappy tyers big time!
+Hringhorne Stularsson we regularly get 10000 miles out of tourance next tyres mate :)
Anakee is a nightmare on wet :(
Totally agree. The Tourance next and roadtec 01’s are fab though :)
Tourande next is not good. Tire Peel and is dangerous. Not recommend use. I had many problems with this tire.
Anakee 3... the worst possible tyres in the world to seat,do a google search on the subject, countless problems.Even pro tyre fitters using machines have problems.
you could clean the tire a bit.
🙄
