2023 Nissan Z Performance 6MT Daily Driver Review

This 7th generation 2023 Nissan Z is a beautiful and distinct looking car. It has several design cues that harken back to the original 1969 Datsun 240Z or the Nissan Fairlady Z, as it is referred to in Japan. We found ourselves turning around and looking back at this Seiran Blue two tone Nissan Z as we walked away from it, to take all of its captivating angles. Our Nissan Z Performance 6MT is equipped with a really solid feeling 6 speed manual transmission, which is a good match with its intercooled twin-turbo 3 liter 400 hp V6 engine.
The original Datsun 240Z weighed 2,300 pounds, had a 2.4 liter inline-six cylinder with 151 hp, 146 lb-ft of torque. It had a 4-speed manual transmission and took over 8 seconds to hit 60 miles per hour.
This 2023 Nissan Z Performance 6MT has gained about 1,100 pounds, has 249 more horsepower, and two more gears. It takes about 4.5 seconds to accelerate to 60 for the manual, and a few tenths less for the 9 speed automatic.
Our car is equipped with 19 inch Rays Super Lightweight wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires with 255/40R19s up front and 275/35R19s in the rear. They provide plenty of grip, and are happy to let you hang the tail out whenever you want.
