Allison came to visit New York a few weeks back, and was kind enough to reach out and ask if we could record some more music together. I grew up listening to this song, and it seemed like a natural fit for Allison's style.

Allison came from the 1940's to 2019 through a time machine. I'm now convinced.
Yes she keeps her DeLorean hidden in the garage but please stay here in this time zone you make our lives better with that smile and your love with your little kitty toad go girl you go girl
My daughter is the same….. really suited to the 1950’s
Perfectly stated.
Simple clean singer.. nice vocals... The guitarist is awesome
This 2 talents came thro the time machine... I m convinced ... I m sold
Great songs transcend time.
One of those songs I thought no one could ever really cover and then you go right ahead and nail it.
Fever and Crazy are both almost impossible to cover since we hear Peggy and Patsy's voices in the back of our minds. But this young lady has pulled off both. Only comparable I can think of offhand is Eva Cassidy's version of Over the Rainbow
She's just spectacular.
You are so right Sammy. I think she's outdone Peggy!
These might be fighting words but elvis's version is favorite
@@mikegalvin9801 I still think the McCoy’s version is amazing even if it’s more rock n roll
This girl has an amazing voice. She sings so easy, doesn’t struggle at all with notes. And Josh, is awesome as always.
Every single song Allison sings is amazing.
They’re both equally mesmerizing in their own way. A great pairing.
Allison's voice has just the right amount of clarity, depth, and smoke. So nice.
This is absolutely the best version of this song SINCE Peggy Lee recorded it! Outstanding!
The girl can sing swing while she's sitting down! That's much harder to do than you think.
I know I can’t sing sitting down. Then again I can’t standing up either.
@Peter Ponomarenko how do you know she is lip-synching?
@Peter Ponomarenko i doubt she's lip synching in this one. you can hear her voice on the mic at the beginning and at the end of the take, as well as her voice fading when she gets further from the mic. also, this is josh turner's channel, where every video i've seen has been a live recording. microphone quality and post processing these days are really good, so i understand why it seems like it must've been recorded in a studio.
@Peter Ponomarenko yep, it's possible the video is slightly off. with productions like this the sound and video usually has to be manually aligned by the video editor, so that's likely the margin of human error you're noticing.
@@frogman1 bro you could've made that so much more argumentative that's so nice to see, personally I think there's no way she's lip-syncing
This is AMAZING! That voice! That guitar work! Jaw drop.
There was guitar?
Agree totally!! Wonderful voice, Wonderful 🎸!!
@@davep8221 I laughed so hard! My advice: watch/listen 12 times to Allison's animated vocal performance, then do the same for Josh - you won't be disappointed.
Made my ears wiggle.
I could quarantine for a long time just watching Allison's videos.
*Allison and Josh's
You wouldn't want to come out for fear you might break the spell.
Wish granted
We need a Grammy for Best UA-cam Cover. This is perfect; to go into a studio and record it again would have been a waste. Really, this take is maybe the best thing I have EVER seen on UA-cam. IT IS PERFECT! KEEP UP YOUR GREAT WORK!
Wow, check out the Stardust cover.
This was indeed perfect. I will share with you another group that seems to always be perfect, at least the recordings that get to youtube: ua-cam.com/video/Fjo75CFJjG4/v-deo.html (The youngest member of the band was 6, the oldest 19 at that time. The same band, or parts of it, about 10 years later. ua-cam.com/video/LUz4T1liFGw/v-deo.html The best recording of this one was by Ella Fitzgerald, perhaps till this.
Have you seen their cover of Crazy? As for best cover video on UA-cam I would vote for Heart's Stairway To Heaven. Check it out.
Love the idea of a Grammy for Best UA-cam Cover!
Allison has maybe the sweetest voice ever. Could listen to this all day
Are you kidding me? Another masterpiece from today's talented yutes.
What's that, Mr Callow?
talented what?...did you say "yutes"?
@@Teufelshund ua-cam.com/video/Hu8tX2BAD1k/v-deo.html
Yes, another masterpiece from today’s talented yutes.
This is a complement
@@Teufelshund My cousin Vinny
That voice is giving me fever. omg.
Really tasteful guitar fills all throughout. And Allison's vocals are perfect for this song. Loved it
Roger that!
he is one hell of a guitarist
It really upsets me that UA-cam only lets me leave ONE thumbs up for this video.
Nice job! Miss Allison looks like she just stepped out of 1955 and that's a good thing. Delightful.
Wish more younger women sported this look. Beautiful and classy
@@featheredcoyote5477 I'll have to agree with you.
FEATHERED COYOTE agree, it would’ve been better
God damn, people are so desperate to be unique. i guess when theres 7 billion people on this planet alot of people will want to stand out by having a wacky style. at least she isnt as desperate as takashi 69
@MusicMadMaurice No, best of all she's has a great voice!
Oh my God! Where has this girl been? This whole number - in all aspects is way beyond just professional . . . I have no words . . . . !
Couldn't agree more.
You do have words. Let me recap for you ... "Oh my God! Where has this girl been? This whole number - in all aspects is way beyond just professional"
Z1000Jeff,
Smarty pants. Typed is one thing, spoken, another. Maybe John Cortex meant no words were coming out of his mouth, as in, "Speechless!"
Even disregarding that distinction or possibility, such figures of speech are rarely meant to be taken so literally. But you probably had fun doing that, anyway.
..she's been here all along John. ua-cam.com/channels/yVttxb4-zHo62CB4lwvMXg.htmlvideos
This was the first video I ever saw of Allison or Josh performing. It completely blew me away. Since then I've seen all of their UA-cam performances - most, more than once. The ones I like best are their duets, together. These two not only have incredible skills but a passion for their music which is rarely seen by other performers.
Damn, I love her voice. Top notch. And Josh isn't bad on guitar.
And here I am, thinking nothing could make Josh seem more talented. And then comes Allison and she ups his game. And she’s among the best female vocalists I’ve EVER heard on The Tube.
He ups her game as well.
Flawless vocals and perfect guitar!
I'd really love to hear "Cry Me a River" by you two!
So do I!!! Guys, please!!!
Yes! Please!
I would like to add my vote for this!!
Just FYI, Josh did Cry Me a River with Larkin Dodgen in 2014. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/eotJdVKBTos/v-deo.html
Enjoy!
Great idea!!
GOOD? understatement. Josh nails guitar as always he makes it seem easy. Allison's voice could sooth a raging elephant. PERFECTION
This is one of those rare and amazing times when an artist covers a song and truly makes it their own. Hat's off to Allison, who I only discovered this evening! That guitar player ain't half bad, too. Great work, Josh!
That was brilliant. You need to get an album together. Seriously do it.
What a lovely young lady... her voice is wonderful, her presence in front of the camera refreshing, and her interpretation of this classic song superb. 10+ stars! BTW Josh, it goes without saying you nailed it too!
What can be said? Velvet, smooth, clarity, rhythm, silky, unique, individual, and cute as can be. I've just discovered you, Allison Young, and I love you. Talent and all!
Pure TALENT on display in all it's glory!
This girl have an incredible voice😱❤️
The variety on this channel is second to none. Outstanding performance by Allison and a fine guitar accompaniment by Josh as usual, thanks for sharing.
Fantastic - I concur and thank u thanks...awesomely done!!
this is bloody spectacular. Never stops amazing me how good Josh is on a guitar. Like flawless, full of soul and so bloody effortless and having fun all the while. Great stuff.
She has such stage presence just sitting on that couch! BRAVO!!!
When she started singing.... OMG... Who is this girl? Perfect voice for this song and style
Wow Allison that was fantastic. When I was a kid in the 60’s. I remember Peggy Lee sang that song on every variety show and talk show on TV. And you covered it as she sang it. It’s heart warming to see and hear younger folks playing older music 🎼 and playing it so well. Thanks.
"That was good" at the end - what an understatement!
I honestly feel Josh is one of the finest guitar players on UA-cam. He is a naturally gifted musician
In all the hubbub of this and that voice, there comes along someone who, in song, pretty much tells everyone to take a seat: "we're going to talk business here," and commences to tell it as it should be told. Allison does just that. She reminds singers everywhere, in all of their work, not to forget the essence of singing: be true to your soul, be down to earth, and always season your offering for the best flavor possible.
Allison, that was one of the best covers I've heard of that song! Well done!
.... but then, I can honestly say that of all of your covers!
You are a refreshing talent!
Josh, I've been watching you for about three years now, and you just keep getting better and better!
I simp for Allison Young. Her style and her talent-- she's just so gorgeous and so goddamn cool.
This young lady's voice absolutely blows me away...emotive and sultry yet unaffected, unlike so many girls today who twist themselves into knots trying to sound like Amy WInehouse or Mariah Carey. She should be a household name.
Great voice. I've only heard Allison doing Crazy with Josh before. More of the same please! Such clever arrangement by Josh, simple and tricky touches and execution. Magnificent key changes.
Jaw dropping singing right there.
Allison attire and hair and as a whole her looks as if in fifties. And the song they played in accord with that era. What a nice performers you both.Amazing!Awesome!Wonderful!
This is a REAL woman. She knows her source of power among the fairer sex. I love when ladies exhibit their best in their role as women. They are adorable and very talented in whatever they persue in that role.
I love the popular music from the 20s through 70s, including the evolution of Jazz in the black community, and how it bled over into the white community in New Orleans and later Chicago.
So thankful I stumbled upon this recording. Thanks you guys for giving something beautiful to this old codger.
Peggy and Patsy can't be outdone but this uber talented lady does a fine job as always. And she does it her way which shows her enormous talent. Then there's Josh....exquisite. Together they're magical.
I've heard Peggy Lee do this tune many times and thought a cover would be tough; Allison nailed it in her own way!
Sultry, Allison! I have never enjoyed this wonderful song more than this version, with Josh's superb feel to complement your sweet vocals.
Allison is very talented and Josh is very talented...But together they have a chemistry that makes them Great! Do more together, love it!
This girl Allison got the stuff. Many have made cover of this song and they all fail to grasp the essence. This performance is very tidy and clean of unnecessities. absolutely love it
Pure, real, enjoyable music. Can't say enough about how encouraging it is to find people who know what that is. Please don't stop! I'm in love with Allison's voice and Josh's talents.
That was unexpected: Ms Young's outfit reminds me of a doll, but she has a perfectly smooth, adult voice with nice dark undertones. A very accomplished singer indeed. And the guitar was perfect.
Julie London and Peggy Lee of course had the greatest versions of this. Nice to see the classics being revived. Allison sure has the talent and personality.
Inredible, raw talent, her voice is like vintage silk, Josh plays a ton o guitar
Allison will be absolutely delighted when she discovers the swiffer.
The Young Lady rings my chimes ! She has a future in music !
Josh is a GREAT guitarist! And Alison is a remarkable singer! I could listen to both of them all day.
One of my very FAVORITE SONGS....She does a fantastic job! Peggy Lee would be proud.
Oh merciful Heavens. That was so beautiful. The melding of these two tones have destroyed me.
Wow they really nailed it. She's on fire.
You NAILED an extremely challenging song. I didn’t think anyone could do “Fever” justice since Peggy Lee. You & Josh are a great team (also on “Crazy”). Thanks for keeping this music alive.
It baffles me that this woman is not more well-known. She is a wonderful singer, with an amazing voice.
I used to have hope for young people. Videos like this give me faith.
But these 2 are not ordinary young people we know. They are hard to find young aliens.
Luv the little inflections on the guitar. Just gives it that extra special oomph that makes this cover great. Alison of course is a beauty with a voice to match ☺
There are so many great musicians we don't know about, like this woman doing a duet with Josh. He on guitar and she with her amazing voice!
Fantastic, what a talent! Keep going Peggy, keep going with your amazing voice!!
Her name Allison Young…. Peggy Lee originally did this song some decades ago.
I thought her Crazy was my favorite. Nowww I have to relisten over & over & over &...
What a lovely way to burn.
Fabulous! Great vocal and superb guitar (as usual from Josh)
Gave me instant goosebumps, her voice suits the song so amazing:o
Great voice, I really like her style and yes, I'm a fool for a redhead !!
Best interpretation I had the opportunity to stumble on.
Peggy Lee would be proud of your version. Excellent!
Goosebumps, gloopy stomach, bones gone to water .... oooo you two, burning icy hot. What sounds, tones, harmonics, grooooove. Thankyou for sharing this bliss, Josh and Allison. Takes me to my happy place.
These to were born to perform together.
Allison has a remarkably good voice, unbelievable!
Allison, we could listen to your voice thru our mic on loop, like, forever. Thanks for another fantastic video!
I can't believe how good Josh plays guitar. I can't believe how incredible her voice is.
We pick the wrong people to be famous
No doubt…. Pun intended.
Here's a secret, we dont pick them anymore. THEY are chosen by committee of advertising and marketing experts to fit specific demographic interests, there is no such thing as raw talented famous anymore.
@@johnstamos8403 What a shame. So that is how the Justin Beavers of the world become famous. It is sad that you see people with real talent have to work in local bars and small events.
That is so unfair!
@@johnstamos8403 Btw If this is the real John Stamos, you certainly deserved to be famous. 🤩🤩🤩
No doubt about it.
An Awesome tribute to Little Willie John song " Fever " . I am glad that so many of the youth of today are finding and bringing back to life the music of yesteryear. Even though this music was before my time, I heard this song on Vinyl when visiting one of my grandmothers back in the southern part of the United States. Sometimes the old man would sing to the old lady saying I got the fever and she would giggle and say the boys are here dirty old man. One of my two grandfathers would sometimes take my little brother and myself to little shanties to listen to home style music made with old wine jugs and wash boards, along with wind and string instruments. My grand parents are truly missed after all these years. May this music live on for all to ear in their own good time.
So silky smooth. Josh shows such restraint on the guitar to let her shine. He could have taken off and ripped it.
Agree
Agree as well
He is first, and foremost, a consummate professional.
Ironically I'm home sick with a fever but this makes it more than bearable. Truly impressive the both of you.
i have an extensive collection of rare peggy lee material. including some living room sessions with dave barbour. this is the best version i have ever heard. wow!
What a voice!!!!
Her voice is so pure and beautiful.
Classy duet, her voice, and his guitar. I Loved it.
What a lovely way to burn. Fever. Unforgettable.
wow Allison ... you never over restrain, nor over express... f'n beautiful.
Loved it. Alllisons voice is awesome and that guitar arrangement was brilliant!
I've been watching and listening to this over and over again, off and on throughout the day. Great voice and guitar. The little guitar flourish at 2:31 is cool beyond words. The whole rendition is just beautiful in every way.
Yep...that is just some kind of magic.
Great 😮
I could listen to these young talents, and do, over and over!!
Alison is the Stradivarius of voices!
Amazingly talented artists! WOW. You guys should make a record or 10.
I keep coming back to watch and listen again to this gem from Josh and Allison.
It's not just very, very good, it's a... struggling for the words... virtuoso interpretation. I focus back and forth between Josh's superb guitar dynamics to the sound and feel of Allison's voice - and equally, to those little gestures with her hands, her expression and her whole body as she brings the lyrics to life. Between them, the magic is born and, above all, the charm and humour of a great song. Bravo!
Your comment has inspired me to say:
We are in a new era, where masterpieces such as this are not commercially released for the masses, but instead captured and released by the artists themselves for posterity.
Perhaps unknowingly, when watching videos such as this, we are witnessing history in the making.
While in the past, there has been very limited or no video footage of the artists who have made treasured works of music, now video is the norm.
Mastertapes of past works of musical art have often been archived in warehouses by big studios. Sometimes poorly, as we saw last year when one of them caught fire and many treasures were lost to us forever, excepting for inferior copies.
Here's hoping that Josh and Allison are able to preserve and keep these precious videos for future generations to be astounded by as we are.
You know you are in the presence of real talent when you just sit and grin while listening to this!!!
I have been listening to that song since I was knee high to a grasshopper, but the words never popped out like they did just now. Somehow the lyrics got covered up in the orchestration. Thank you for breathing new life into an old song.
A brilliant performance from both of them. I just hope quality will win over gimmicks, electronic aids, distracting sets....etc. They deserve real success
You’r liars: that’s not good that’s spectacular! You, Josh, play in your usually exceptional ability, Allison sings in a wonderful way!
I really love this!!!!!!!!
Allison's voice is like liquid fire and Josh's guitar work is perfect. I home you two work out your differences and make more videos together.
Love this young ladies voice!
"That was good!"
Eh, what? That was *awesome*!!
What a pleasure. Thank you!
Wow - she’s really something !
Alison and Josh my favorite duo. Class, poise, natural. Be well Josh and Alison.
