Deserve way more subscribers for great content. Love seeing the varied gold. Perplexed why anyone would pay £30 - 40 (at the time) to grade bullion coins. Proofs - yes, absolutely - limited mintages and slabs protect polished surfaces combined with genuine value added uplift if they hit a 70.
it will get there all in good time. I think its done by the big companies in London and the they market it as something its not sadly. My thoughts mirror yours.
I really hope the YT element of your business takes off. You have a great personality and are very genuine/authentic regards dealing in PM's pro's/cons. Selling coins is sometimes its a thankless task, especially when spot drops and your left holding the baby....Plus as you said, its tight margins "stack em high/sell em low" . Then you have to learn what sells, then you need to get those coins at the right price. Then that buyer may dry up...... Keep doing gods work my brother. Love your sovs and the brits. All the best from your oceanic friend shrimpy
I'll give it a go - I think the channel is worthy of 10000 subs personally but i would rather people watch the content rather than just click for 20 seconds. Quality over Quantity. Take care my friend.
Love the honesty and the upfront nature of your videos. There is potential in some coins obviously but i like your style of buisness and the ethics. Much respect.
Thank God you disagreed with your seller regarding sending some of his sovereigns to the melting pot. In one of his videos Chard describes this as a standard procedure in his business. But who does that serve? There is still a huge population of sovereigns around, but for every sovereign melted down the rest will go up in price. And lower grade sovereigns do have buyers at perhaps lower prices - it it still the magic feeling of holding a piece of history in your hands. Thanks for always sharing your thoughts when presenting your coins!
I can't speak for other dealers but I would assume that when you get to the level of someone such as chards you would have little option on the lean months as its quick money and you have to pay the bills. I think naturally each coin will find its own price regardless of condition.
Sorry I should have been more explicit I was lazy with my wording. Sovereigns go for spot plus £10 plus post and 1oz coins typically are spot plus 2%. There is no set rule as to what price will be achieved, I like to make 10 pound a coin on a sovereign but the reality is some coins will go for slightly more and some more beaten up ones will go for slightly less. With the 2023 if it came in it would probably be spot plus 10 pounds BUT it usually takes a while to see the latest coins in the secondary market :)
Hmm, Ill look into that I am not sure why that is - you can email me at Shaun@backthemetal.com. I have sold everything in this video - I do have some other sovereigns in stock but not many :)
No its not true. It really depends on the type of coin. The market will do market things and solve the price but the reality is alot of people cant afford/ refuse to pay for 70s and some people would even refuse to pay for a graded coin
Great to see you posting regularly again! Very enjoyable
More to come!

Why do sovs go spot plus ten vs brits at spot plus two. Is it because they were nice old ones, or is spot plus ten also on a 2023 sov, please?

Veil-head Victorias. Those marked M come from the Melbourne mint.

Did you get the extra for 70? New stacker only doing pre owned sovs sub
Yes but also because it is a limited edition coin :)

As it stands 376 ish. it does fluctuate up and down however :)
Orientals are quite hard to find
i don't really know much about them tbh
Is it true that a 69 grading, it will be like a " kiss of death" ? as it s not perfect so it will not sell for a lot moore? 🤷♂️
