    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

      It really isn’t about how much you save, it’s about how you manage your money. Whether you work to earn income or invest, it still boils down to income vs expenses, so yeah you may look into financial advisors for a strategy that suits your timing.

      I totally agree, I'm 60 and newly retired with about 1.2 million outside retirement funds, no debt, and very small dollars in retirement funds compared to my portfolio balance over the past 3 years till date. tbh, the role of the invt-advisor can only be overlooked, not denied. just have to do your research in finding a reputable one.

    Buying silver or gold as an idea becomes much stronger if linked to savings generally. Acquiring small amounts of a tradable metal can be more fun than watching a bank balance grow and at the same time lose value, especially in times of high inflation.

    For someone looking at purchasing Gold this is a great introduction. It is easy to want to just jump in and buy everything you can, when in reality you can benefit from starting slow. First and foremost, identify the primary reason you are looking to purchase gold. That should heavily influence where you should begin and it will help maximize your potential for reaching your goal sooner.

    Also to keep in mind is that sales tax requirements vary from state to state. For example, here in California any single invoice purchase over $1500.00 is exempt from sales tax which depending on the city and county where you live could save you between 7.25-10.75%.

    I am really worried about the current bank crisis. If a bank as big as SVB could fail, I fear for a lot more. I know a friend who is running a high-growth startup, and was badly hit by the bank run. I have pulled out more than $340k from my bank. After all, the FDIC covers only up to$250,000, and the implosion could have bad effect. Looking to invest into the stock market now. Does anyone know how I could go about it?

    • @Erinmills98
      @Erinmills98 Рік тому +4

      We underestimate the fact that banks are corporate entities also governed by greed. Since 2020, the banks have been over-leveraging their assets, which was one of the reasons for SVB's implosion. I have never been okay with keeping much money in the bank. I simply invest through my financial advisor, collect my profits, which I then spend.

    Another excellent video! You mention passing your gold to your kids. I plan to do the same. I would just like to add that when my boys come to visit, I make a point of showing them my latest purchases so they have an idea of what I have. I have taken them with me to some coin shops and they watched me make purchases (and walk away if the price isn't right). While there, I ask the shop owners questions about what they pay for a particular coin or bar, the differences between, what they like to buy and what they don't. I do this so my boys will "see" how it is done and take some of the mystery out of it. I have a spreadsheet that has all the info about the coins as well as business cards from local dealers and info from online dealers. My hope is that when I am gone, they will have an idea of what they have and how to best liquidate if need be.

    There are a lot of people that are new to Gold investing. I mean more than I have seen in 20 years. I go to three local coin shops at least once a week. I run into these new investors that are apprehensive and frankly scared. I try to boost their confidence in a gold purchase, and then direct them to your Channel. I enforce the premise that you are not a pumper trying to sell gold for their own profit, where a lot of channels are.
    Thank you for the level-headed advice that you give to so many. A lot of them are truly scared, at least the informed ones are. A voice of reason in times of uncertainty is very comforting and rewarding.

    Started with silver a couple months ago. Got some 1oz. buffalo rounds, then 1oz. Buffalo bars. This month I've already bought a kilo bar, a 10 oz bar. And the. Gold I've gotten a single IGR gram bar, a 2 gram valcambi bar, a 5 gram valcambi bar, and yesterday I grabbed a 10 gram valcambi bar. And last night while at work I ordered a 100g silver valcambi divisible bar paid a lot of premium for it but but since I'm in this for the long term like most of you on here I know one day it'll be worth more definitely

    I buy my Gold (online) from Walmart, and they transact with all of the most well known dealers. The reason I buy from Walmart is that they let you pay with a credit card (with no fee) and
    have free shipping. I use my Synchrony Premier 2.2% cash back card, so I get my 1 oz. Maples for only 1.7% over spot - I haven't found a better deal ANYWHERE else. I just bought 8 - 1oz.
    Maples, which was shipped from APMEX in only 3 days, and I'll be buying another 20 0zs. before the end of this year. I'll be buying a good amount of 90% U.S. coins locally, as I can get it
    for only 8% over Spot.
    Als0, Walmart has their 1 coin price as low as the 100+ coin price with other online dealers.

    Thanks, I needed to see this! I started out buying gold without much direction and ended up with a hodgepodge of bars and coins of different sizes and from different mints. I paid too much attention to spot prices and premiums. It makes for a fun collection but I agree it most likely will be more difficult for me or someone else to sell, especially in bulk when needed. Concentrating now on Eagles and Maples.

    Thanks for another excellent video. I’ve made 3 mistakes when I started buying outside of numismatics. My first gold purchases were several 1oz. RCM gold bars, (unaware of the drawbacks) my second was generic gold rounds from gold line (premium prices for a not so premium product). I was able to recover from these mistakes with trades. My third was generic silver products. Traded away the majority of generic silver rounds and bars keeping only 50 10oz. Germania mint bars (love these).Yes if your simply going for weight there is nothing wrong with gold bars and generic gold if the premium is in line with the purchase. At the time I didn’t consider ease of resale or tax ramifications as a part of my exit strategy. Now I’m very aware and have accordingly purchased only specific products.

    In many cases buying 1/10oz & 1/4oz Gold Eagles, or Maple Leafs is more liquid. Meaning they are often easier to sell if need be. Fact is not all coin shops can pull out $1800-$2000 cash to buy 1oz Eagles. However, it's a lot easier for them to hand out $200 or $500 on 1/10oz's or 1/4oz's pieces. Also, I never recommend buying 1/2oz's because its still right around $1000, so being that close its better if you can to buy the 1oz, or two 1/4oz sizes. I think the best single coin is the 1/4oz Eagle its really right in the sweet spot. Happy Stacking!!!

    My initial gold buying involved a lot of numismatic coins of low mint state which was bad because the online salesman took advantage of my ignorance. Starting out, ONLY buy bullion coins, not numismatic (collectible, graded) coins. Numismatics require a lot of knowledge and dedication, like a hobby.

    I wish I could find someone who really explains these things for actual beginners. Like with explaining all the terminology. Buying a “spot” price? I’m already lost 😅 What is a spot price? What are premiums? What is the meaning of all these words in this context? I mainly want to know why gold is a good investment? For instance, is it worth more than what you purchased it for later?

    I just want to make an addendum to what you said about gold should not be sold in stores for its stamped price. You are correct in that. However, a number of states have passed legislation to allow gold to be traded for good and services at its weight (although I doubt they’ll give you change in gold as well). Check your state laws for more information about how this system works in your state.

    Stacking gold is great I am sure you covered it but I think there is an important message to new stackers like you said is to ease in. I have a feeling a lot of new stackers end up getting themselves into trouble financially buy purchasing too much gold or silver at one time leaving there other finances lacking. Some great info, especially for newer stackers but it's good to refresh the knowledge and I like just listening to your rational thinking. I do take a look at spot at least once a day so if we have a big pull back I can be ready to pull the trigger but what I've noticed lately with the pull backs, like right now on Bullion Exchange they're saying they're sold out of quarter oz and half oz eagles because they don't want to sell it at a loss. The price for a half would be 995 and a quarter at 519 if you could buy it. I understand why they do it but It's a little irritating. It's not like they don't make enough 95% of the year to make up for the losses.

    • @2is1gold
      @2is1gold  Рік тому +3

      I think you're right about that happening, but with retail demand where it is, they might truly be out. Especially with Eagles. Cheers!
