"Cobra is a sleek, extremely violent and exciting police thriller." - Variety
Lt. Cobretti (Sylvester Stallone) is a one-man assault team whose laser-mount submachine gun and pearl-handled Colt .45 spit pure crime-stopping venom! Director George P. Cosmatos (Rambo: First Blood Part II, Tombstone) teams up again with Stallone for this thriller pitting Cobretti against a merciless serial killer. The trail leads to not one murderer but also an army of psychos bent on slashing their way to a "New Order" - and killing a witness (Brigitte Nielsen) along the way. Fortunately, her protector is Cobra, a man who delivers vigilante justice like no other!

Brian Thompson's night slasher character definitely one of the signature serial killers of the 1980s. Always liked him as an actor because of this movie.
He was terrifying in this movie. His face structure is so unique it can really express terror
Brian Baker I agree he was frigging scary
A Brian Thompson Halloween mask would suffice.
@@trancemaster871 I saw Cobra once.. And I already memorized the line he said to Sly Stallone. It got burned into my brain
"YOUR EYES PIG!!!....... I WANT THEM!!!"
He was scary as the alien bounty hunter in The X-Files, he hardly said a word and he was still as terrifying. Relentless.
that and it was made at just the right time as well... 1985. best time. this, henry: port trait of a serial killer, manhunter etc.
was the best period for movies like this.
This man gave the most insane psycho performance I have ever seen in a movie. He was just so damn intense, and he was perfect for the role. I consider Brian legendary for that role alone!
Hammern28 couldn't agree more. Though rumour is it took him 7 auditions too get the part.
Also Billy Drago in Deltaforce
@perillopasquale ... I have no idea what the heck you just said.
@perillopasquale Auf Wiedersehn.
Yes. He was absolutely awesome. The best villain Sly ever faced off against.
It seems like our most antagonistic villains are the nicest people in real life.
I've met Brian twice at various Cons, he's an absolutely fantastic guy, always chatty, and friendly. He looks kinda scary, but he's a big hearted guy. Same with Tony Todd, I've met him a few times too, absolute lovely bloke, warm, kind and friendly (he even comforted my wife when she met him for the first time, because Candyman is one of her favourite films, and she must have formed a more sinister image of Tony in her mind to what he's actually like, and it kind of overwhelmed her). Robert Englund is sweet but mad as well, they really are all fantastic people. I reckon its because they've starred in dark stuff, they kind of get their dark side psyche over with, and you're left with folks who you'd be happy to be neighbours with. Then you have the flip side of hollyweird, with the beautiful crowd.....who are weird, bitchy, self absorbed and need praise.
Cobra, X-Files, Lionheart and plenty other movies. Thank you for everything sir
Terminator!
Definitely a movie that deserved a sequel.
But you couldn't top that villain. With Terminator you could just send another Arnold - not possible with this one
@mmafighter38 - *Perhaps, but just couldn't possibly be as good as the original.*
@@darktrooper2099 none of them are with the exception of a few. The 80s remakes of some 50s movies such as 1986 version of ‘The Fly’. 👍
Love this movie and I love Brian Thompson! He always plays a wonderful villain.
Killed by the Terminator in the original, villain in Cobra & Fright Night 2. He is awesome. He doubled for Arnold Swarzenager a few times too I think.
Except in Mortal Kombat Annihilation.
@@Ashbuster85 don't forget xfiles
I watched In the cold of the night few days ago, check that if you havent
This guy was great in Cobra. As a young boy he was horrifying. Thank you for terrorizing me in my youth, Mr. Thompson!
They almost didn't cast him either because they said he was too nice in real life. They didn't think he could be realistic as a bad guy.
I used to watch Cobra all the time when I was a kid. Brian was an amazing villain, the final fight between him and Stallone was epic
ADHD Patrick when he sticks him the hook ouch
@@trancemaster871 yeah ouch!
He scared the heck out of me as the villain.
LMAO 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂
*@Stealth Attack : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :Which is why it's a REALLY GOOD thing you have **_STEALTH_** on your side !*
He got really ripped from terminator in 1984 to cobra in 1986.
What is so funny is that for all the terror he invokes in the films, especially in Cobra, he seems like a real sweet guy with a big heart. The same goes for Andrew Robinson who played a cop in Cobra, but was in Dirty Harry as the psycho who was extremely creepy and terrifying. Another nice guy in real life.
Detective Monte
"Don't you pass out on me yet, no no no, don't you pass out on me yet, you ROTTEN OINKER!"
Toecutter from Mad Max too.
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar check him out on You Tube where he gives an interview. A real good guy.
@@bethvirginiaphillips4583 He was very unlikeable in Cobra. The punch at the end was very deserving from "Marion" :))
Mr. Thompson was also very intense in The X-Files as the Alien Bounty Hunter. I suspect his antagonist role in Cobra was part of why he became The X-Files Alien Bounty Hunter. Mr. Thompson is an excellent actor. Everything I've seen him in I've enjoyed. I'm glad he's still working to today per his IMDB profile. I hope Mr. Thompson is viewing these comments from his fans and followers who admire his work. He's loved and has fans and followers. Hats off to you and cheers Mr. Thompson and we may see you in many roles to come. 🍻
I'm a major fan of The Blacklist. I think Mr. Thompson would make a wonderful Blacklistee along the lines of the Blacklistee that Ron Perlman played as Luther Braxton (No. 21) well worthy of a two part episode. Jonny Coyne who played corrupt Deputy US Marshall Ian Garvey was priceless in the subplot of The Blacklist being No. 13 on The Blacklist.
Brian Thompson also played two different villains in the TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He was a vampire in the first season and a demon, called the Judge in Season 2. He was scary as hell in Cobra.
@@donwinslow522 They couldn''t have picked a better villain for Cobra. He nailed it. That's a mark of a good actor, someone who can immerse themselves in the role and if they're the villain you get creeped out by their role.
@@LVLouisCyphre Yes, that's for sure. The cinematography and lighting was absolutely perfect for that final fight scene. The factory setting was perfect, too. Brian was able to act so well with just his eyes and facial expressions. He was great in the hospital scene, as well. He's a phenomenal actor.
He was also the first Romulan antagonist (chronological wise) in Star Trek entperise
Brian Thompson is the best antihero of all time!!!👍
Cool actor. Plays a Great Shao Kahn in MK2. Even his minor roles in a few of the Star Trek episodes.
Brian was awesome in this movie. Oldie but GOODIE. Love it
Perfect performance by him.
Great knife
When I was a kid I was terrified of that character. Then he popped up Joe Dirt and was even more freaky yet hilarious.
...one of the coolest movie-badasses ever !
Brian is that dude. Legendary performances.
Back when they didn't use fake weapon props in the movies. Everyone Cobra shot was killed for real.
😂😅😝🤣😆😜😁😃😂 !!!!!
Night slasher is the most intimidating human being i ever saw, period.
Scared the $hit out of ne when I was a kid. Great actor!
And stalk was the most intimidating woman i ever saw? Have you been drinking her chilling response "yes".
Oh, man! Yes.....And did you see MIDNIGHT MEAT WAGON? Check it out. Now you are talking more than mere terror....heart stopping terror!
Shao Kahn
Such a great actor & has never given a bad performance in anything!
Létal Kombat:Annialation

Nice Actor , He Was Very Good In That Movie !!
Damn I didn’t know they burned him in that furnace at the end of Cobra. Poor guy I hope he was paid well for that role.
I'm surprised that he was never cast as a terminator, even though he played one of the punks in the first film.
Wash day tomorrow. Nothing clean.
The Best villain from the x files. He look's sick, i Hope he is okay 😊
Look*
thought the same...didn't saw hi for a while...still a big fan of his X-Files and Star Trek apperences :)
Brian Thompson is in the 60s now he's not going look the same way he did 35 years ago. He was 27 when he did cobra.
great actor !
He was crazy ass hell in this movie.
Brian and Ron Perlman probably have the most unique faces in Hollywood.
milster i obojica klasično trenirani kao glumci, mogu zahvaljujući licima da se transformiśu u bilo śta. Thanks to their faces, and their training, those two can play anyone and anything.

Brian was brilliant in this movie and he was not even invited to the film premiere by the producers and he had to buy his own ticket to see the movie!!
Awesome film!
It's probably not, but I really hope this release is the work print version with everything corrected and the violence amped up. :)
Grandissimo attore Brian.
FABULOS!
Most menacing and bad ass knife ever created.
Love his face!
The giant prop for perspective was also done in Lord of the Rings for some shots of the ring in extreme close up, and there was also a Hitchcock movie from the 30s or 40s that did the same thing for a close up of a gun and giving a pov for above its barrel
Good stuff
This guy made me go home early when i was young after watching Cobra.
You sir, scared the piss out of kid me.
That knife is the stuff of nightmares..
"That's not a knife...

This man was the scariest dude ever ! Great actor
He disappeared without being an action star...but he was great at Cobra.
My English is not the best, so is it right what I am understanding? They made a 3 foot version of the knife for better displaying and reflecting light? 0:11 do we see this 3 foot version here?
*@Cuetips1000 : : : : : : : : : : Indeed it is C.T.1000,with your spelling being right on cue(VERY GOOD)as well!!!!!With "knife" being the only misspelled word.Leading me to believe or at least being under the impression that it would've been seen 👀,at least a few times, from distant shots'/takes' just like Brian had mentioned during this brief interview.* 😎👍
I always love that knife 🖤
I own that same kind of knife.
Lol! I wish this knife was still around.
Brian… Brian… it’s somewhere.
I guarantee it.
Brian Thompson always played the best menacing villain.
Such an underrated person.
He was in an episode of XFiles too. 😆.
He was a recurring character on the X-FILES!
The final scene is one of the most iconic villain scenes in action movie history. I took it that the Night Slasher did not like cops very much.
Man Mr Thompson looks old 😔
Well for 1. he is 60 years old.. 2.He actually has a full set of hair not balding so thats good and 3.He has not had cosmetic surgery botox, face lifts etc.....and 4 caucasian males dont tend to age well also he is a surfer so he is always in the sun most of his life.
It happens..
I find it offensive that he looks that way
Kkkkk, brin 👍👍, que bacana o trabalho dele eu na época tinha medo dele kkkk
Eu também morria de medo kkkkkkk hoje eu admiro ele 😂
Even in this casual conversation he seems menacing.
This man played one of the most notorious serial killers of the 1980s. Sounds like a cool dude.
This guy is the best actor to play a villain
Nothing can alter your destiny! Nor mine!!!
i hope he won an oscar for his performance
Unfortunately, only a nomination for the Golden Raspberry, for the worst supporting actor. I still don't understand how such madness could happen.
He was great as the maniac in silence of the lamb also
joe dirt he played bufflo bob

I had nightmares about this guy when I was a kid after watcging Cobra.
Brian Thompson ist the good factor... in the movies.. Leon .cobra.. fright night
He wasn't in Leon or Fright Night.
He was in Lionheart, Van Damme's name was Leon Gaultier. Thompson's name was Russel. Antagonist role, but not a true evil.
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 He's hilarious! And a great actor!
I can attest, Brian is a lovely bloke, very grounded, funny and loves the fans. Met him twice. He even told me how Arnie did the "heart rip out" in Terminator, so low tech but effective! Basically Brian was sitting, facing Arnie (yes Arnie was nude btw, but he was funny and put everyone at ease with it) on the end of a seesaw, Arnie had the fake heart (a sponge tennis ball with a roughly textured latex outer cover which then had fake blood poured over it) in his hand. Someone then pushed down on the other end of the seesaw so it looked like Arnie was lifting Brian off the ground, a quick cut then reveal of the "heart", pretty simple.
He could play very well Joker
Rain, this will never happen again! *reaches for his hammer*
I wish Sly or Brian Thompson could convince Warner Brothers to release an uncut version of the film, with all the footage that they threatened to give them an X-rating for. But the likelihood of that is like getting the X-Rated cut of Friday the 13th part 7: The New Blood or Jason Takes Manhattan, hell a cut where more of the film took place in NY would be nice... doesn’t exist but, still.
This guy gave me nightmares
*@Bloodless RVC :Probably why he was chosen for the role.*

He is only 59 but looks 79.
He's always looked older than he actually was, probably due to having such an unique facial structure. I don't know, for a 60 years old he looks pretty healthy and fit. I'll give him a lot of points for proudly sporting a full head of grey hair without trying to dye it or hide it, a lot of the time older men try to keep the hair color of their youths and it just looks embarassing.
