100% agree he has a big fanbase I'm suprised he doesn't get more love in Hollywood like the other old timer action stars do, he does come out with a great movie every now and then like JCVD or Expendables 2 and even had his own tv show on amazon prime but sadly it didn't get picked up for a second season. would be nice if he could get himself into a big Hollywood production again .We Die Young had some buzz did also those kickboxer remakes weren't too shabby .But it would be nice if he could get a nice solid role in a big blockbuster action movie becuase the guy totally deserves it , He has worked hard all his life and his love for cinema runs deep I was a big fan of him growing up and I still am man JCVD forever!!!!!

@deenman23 , Arnold and Van Damme were the few exceptions where my generally intolerant country of the US, did not care about accents and were impressed by said actors sheer talent and charisma. Hell! Arnold was even Governor of my home state of California and didn't do too horrible a job, aside from allowing parents to not vaccinate their children, he treated our Vets really good and did a lot to help promote and honor them. Comparing these two guys to prostitutes is an injustice. They came to the US with virtually nothing and became icons, who were adopted by the US and became as "American as apple pie". I could give a shit if they have accents, it does not diminish their achievements in film, athletics and politics.

maybe it's just his personality but the way Van Damme's mannerisms and talkative nature... it seems like he's experiencing a little more euphoria here than someone on a base level or sober. Of course, Van Damme probably just really loves the spotlight and enjoys conversation and is very hyperactive when these moments arise. So it can simply be his nature... but this is also how it is when you're high on something like coke or even alcohol.

Finally someone asked Van Damme about Johnny Cage. Johnny Cage has always been my favorite MK character, ever since I was a kid.
I always picked him because he reminded me of Van Damme. Van Damme is my favorite martial arts actor, ever since I saw Bloodsport when I was a very young child.
Many people got into martial arts because of Bruce Lee, but for me I had started the martial arts after watching Van Damme movies specifically Bloodsport.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was originally cast to play the Predator, the idea being that the physical action star would use his martial arts to make the Predator an agile, ninja-like hunter. However, the original design for the Predator was too cumbersome and difficult to manage in the jungle, and Van Damme couldn't make the required movements in it. Additionally, it was reported that Van Damme constantly complained about the monster suit being too hot (causing him to pass out), while also voicing his reservations on numerous occasions about the fact that he would not be appearing on camera without the suit. Van Damme was finally removed from the film, officially for being too short at 5'9" (Arnold Schwarzenegger and his team were bodybuilders between 6'2" and 6'5"). He was replaced by Kevin Peter Hall (who was 7'2"), and the suit was redesigned because even with a more imposing actor, it was felt to not provoke enough fear.

Jean Claude Van Damn - one of the big guns of the 80s and 90s. Loved the movies growing up. If I saw him in HK while I was there, I'd have bought him a beer (if he drinks them). Legend.

This is amazing, he has so many stories! I thought I knew them all.
I wish he would do a follow up to "Behind closed doors."

I remember Cyborg on VHF in military, saw Bloodsport in high school. Hard Target after i left the military. It left a positive impression on some real things as far as real combat, and how unbelievable the real world is and where it is now. I like his new movies, it deals with realism, yet he holds his own touch to it which is his trademark.

    Hes a good man. 👍
I liked the bit where he mentioned how he got to America by selling flowers then opening a gym. The people in Hong Kong are especially humble and In touch with nature, so unsurprisingly he chooses to reside there. 💙✌️

You would have to pay Segal A LOT to allow it to happen. Choreography and actually being a trained master of the arts is 2 total different things. First ever outsider to open a sanctioned dojo in Japan ain't getting dropped kicked by a body building stunt man unless he lets him.
