I heard that in real life, Brian is actually sweet, down to Earth, nice fellow. It took four or seven auditions until he got the role since they weren’t convinced he can play a psychopath. It’s great acting.
It's often that, in the realm of acting, the ones that play "good guys" are dirtbags in real life, and the "bad guys" spend the weekend fostering disabled kittens, or something. Stallone actually shadow directed this movie and had more influence in every thing even more than George Cosmatos ( the actual director). 1986 was Stallone's heyday. He was literally the biggest movie star in the world by that era ( mid 80s) and was the world's highest paid and richest actor by 1985 after the worldwide success of the Rambo & Rocky series which were mega hits. Stallone wrote the script of this movie & he had more influence on the casting, screenplay and overall direction of this film.
@@SmartRobot-wc2fb Nope. Sly Stallone is a conservative and this movie was very Pro-Republican/ Pro-Reagan in the mid 80s which made the leftist Democrat voting movie critics and journalists mad. @@SmartRobot-wc2fb Obviously your reading comprehension is appalling. You might need to reboot & try again. Lines from this movie hearken back to a time when a lot of real cops actually did follow a code of conduct and some laws. yeah he said the hospital scene where he is lunging the knife through the door with Bridgette Nielson on the other side he was scared to do it that he might hurt her. I guess he didn't get a long with the director but he said Sly was really cool to work with
The thing I appreciate about this scene is that contrary to typical action movie clichés, Cobra was indeed about to just shoot the Slasher if not for one of the New Order members - maybe the female cop. I don't fully remember - to jump Cobra at the last minute.

I love this movie and kinda enjoyed the manner in which he killed him. However the Physics & biomechanics makes no sense. Brian Thompson was clearly much taller & bigger built than Stallone with decent musculature. And despite having layers of winter/ leather wear including thick density jackets, how is it humanly possible using the laws of Physics/ Biomechanics to lift Thompson (displacing his weight) using his leather jacket collar and force him on a rather blunt hook through layers of clothing is beyond me.
