One of your best interviews to date; well done Warren. It was refreshing to see a guest who is articulate with clear answers to your questions and has a positive, embracing attitude toward technology. Quite the contrast to many of the Tesla bears in the past who are so inarticulate and unable to defend their own positions. Well done Warren and kudos to Mayor Trantalis.

You can have mixed large vehicles and smaller vehicles ....There will probably be some very popular stations and some not used that much....so both types of vehicles will be needed
You should never have to slow down for a station that you are not stopping at and the system needs to be designed to make that work. So, for example, if you're on the freeway, you don't slow down for an exit ramp that you are not taking.
I agree. Though I do think it'd because it's relatively new system. Everything will progressively get faster as soon as they can guarantee, people don't start thinking of jumping on the tracks, etc..
1. Slowing down is necessary because vehicles are exiting the driving lane and/or merging into it, and pedestrians make mistakes as well. 2. Ajinomoto is a great name! よろしく
@@WarrenRedlich I don't have any of those problems when I drive past a freeway off-ramp. In other words, all of those problems you bring up can be designed out.

@Warren Redlich. If you want to really reduce the cost of the single passenger vehicle, then have the passenger completey horizontal, so you can reduce your cross-section to 30"x30". Think photon torpeedo tube. Then you will travel at plaid speed! With bicycle sized wheels, you could get the cost below $2000 USD easily.
Not sure that will be comfortable for the passenger. Larger wheels and tires will last longer. When amortized over the life of the vehicle that matters more than up front cost.
Nice to hear about another tunnel project. But, the huge benefits won't be realized until a tunnel is built that allows all traffic to use it. Private cars and public transport both. This is another step toward the superior system. Open tunnels will have 5X positive financial profits aka feedback in control theory. Plus, they'll cause demand for BEVs to spike everywhere they're built. Far superior to X Prize projects to remove carbon from the atmosphere. Anyway, this is a nice little project
@@WarrenRedlich yes. That's one claim of my patents. A barrier that prohibits ICE vehicles passage, prohibits non autonomous vehicles passage and allows passage of fully autonomous and zero emissions vehicles. The "barrier" could be a gate or a sign. But, whenever Boring Company builds a toll tunnel, the annual income from tolls will be worth 5 times the cost of the tunnel and, it will increase sales of FSD BEVs in the region as people flock to tunnels to escape surface traffic.

20:20 Doesn't Florida have a personal property tax? Last time I checked, they did. Nice to see progressive government officials, willing to embrace technology, and general advances, new ways of thinking.
Very exciting for Ft Lauderdale especially as my Wife’s Grandfather was an early developer of Las Olas Blvd.

By the time the Fort Lauderdale tunnel is built, FSD will at least be able to operate in a tunnel. No human drivers will ever be needed.
