I decided to teach myself guitar right before the pandemic started. I tried my very hardest. I came close to doing what you said as the first steps. All of these years, and, I only got to where chords come in, and, I skipped a bit, and learned some hammer ons and some percussive moves, as, it gave it interest to me, but, I think it does not come naturally to me. I still struggle and am absolutely stuck at this place. I played religiously throughout the pandemic, as, it was a healthy and creative way to get through that time. As much as I practiced, I still had trouble. Still do to this day. My question is, even though I practice, I still am muting the strings, even though I am using the tips of my fingers, and barre chords are just not working. I mute everything. Is there a trick to this? I watched videos on these things, but, nobody shows close ups of really what they are doing. A guitar teacher would be great, yet, I am just a bit nervous, so, I am trying to do this on my own. Haha. Anyway, if there is some other way to learn barre chords, that would be GREAT. Sorry for the length of this. I rarely ever write comments, so, my apologies.
Till now I was just learning all kinds of random stuff. But now I've got roadmap and most importantly clear milestones. Once I become good at fingerstyle guitar, I'll come back to this video and donate 5$ (not a small amount in my country) but yea! thanks man that was great advice. Subscribed!
