I have actually been waiting for the Q1 for a long time. Think of it as a 1 primary tool (for me the pen) with 3 additional tools. What it does is actually protect the ink capsule, so you ALWAYS have a pen! In the field or in the office. The scissors screw driver and bottle opener are just a bonus, unless one gets it to use one of the other tools as the primary tool, then the pen would be a bonus... ...thanks for the video.
Im a student in highschool and this is a very good multi tool. (I will not confirm nor deny bringing a knife to school) but when i (theoretically) did there was always the fear of teachers seeing knives as weapons and not as tools. This is a very good alternative for me because it relives the stress of (potentially) carrying a “weapon” while still maintaining the ability to perform every day task such as cutting loose stings off of my clothing, along with being able to use it without getting labeled as “someone who always has a blade” i recommend for highschool and college students.
I absolutely enjoy the Q2. I cant keep it out of my EDC since i got it. Very solid quality budget tool for sure. Loads of Fun to Take outside and Test it
The Q2 is very cool and offers much more. The flashlight is very practical. The knife is great and the Q 2 all around is great for the car , first aid kit or back pack.
if you want a gauge for what is practical for the Q1, I use it everyday. the pen works great for me, drinking with the friends the bottle opener does a great job, and I use the scissors mostly in my garden believe it or not. I cut garden ties, flower buds, stems for grafting, as well as unwanted branches and weeds. it's an awesome tool

At the moment I carry a Leatherman wave as a edc tool. I am thinking about getting a skeletool instead but I think I would miss the scissors. The q1 + skeletool seems like a good idea!

Just be very careful with the SOG belt buckle tool. Try not to lean on anything in front of You or it will press the release button and fall to the ground. This has happened to me twice. With the smaller version of this SOG tool buckle. But I will say the tool buckle is a stout and strong little tool. As it has fallen off my belt as I talked about by leaning. The tool never opened when hitting thoughts concrete like floors in big box stores. So it is a tuff little tool.
would love to see a full test of these items. agree about high price . I see q1 as a self defence pen option with other tools on it... in non permissive/liberal environments. q2 is potentially great for a car. but that being said not sure I'd actually buy either....
I would love to see your opinion on the q3. I found the plyer useless. Bought one and the handle slid forward very easily rendering the pliers useless. Sent my concern along with the q3 back to sog. They sent me a new tool and right out of the box the same issue happened. Let me know if you found this same flaw.
If the q1 took a Parker Fisher refill and added philips driver I would be interested. The q2 if it was an oddball size battery I wouldn't buy it. I wish it had a philips driver.
On the Q2, I wish they had like a legitimately sized hole for a key ring. The hole it does have seems pointless as I'm not really interested in dangling $60 from a .002 nanometer gauge wire.
I bought the q2 as more usefull to me im a tech for charter so use it daily every job. Flashlight for those scary basements of people. Use the flathead to ground my wiring to brackets. And knife for tags and opening up packages. One of best tools i have and dont need a tool bag for three different tools to what i do with 1 lol
I think I would like the Q1 with a flashlight instead of the pen, I always have a pocket knife anyway so why would I want one with attached to my flashlight.
i think there's a very specific sort of person that these would really do the trick for. probably not enough to make it worth while for SOG to make this an actual product. guess we'll see

I like the idea, tho it doesnt appeal for me... iwould have liked more the screwdriver to have a 90 degree half stop for more torque, the scissor more in the middle..i dont like them overall I still like better the squirt ps4, but we are on the way for new actually usefull multitool designs!
Your reviews would be improved if you started with the tools lying on a ruler so we can know their dimensions or at least their lenght... youalso don't say if the Q2 is also TSA-Friendly and where the informsatin came form...
I actually continously jammed the handle peices together thinking I already broke it, I just didnt flex it back all the way, and it held up to my stupidity pretty well

I'd rather have the flashlight with scissors and a small knife instead of the cap lifter.
Neither really appeal to me but I'll give it to SOG for coming up with such a unique product.

As a paramedic the q1 works well use the pen and scissor all the time

It’s tea friendly and also I work in a hospital setting where knives aren’t allowed so this fits the bill perfect.
The first one can be very practical. I work at oreillys and I can think of like 15 uses off the top of my head.

Well if it's a pressurized cartridge like he said, it's pretty likely that it would be a Rite in the Rain refill.
