I am definitely more of a traditionalist ( Victorinox / Leatherman )when it comes to multi tools but , I do appreciate SOG's attempts to push the boundaries and be innovative.
SuperQuantumMechanic switching to sog power assist was life changing. Love the clean lines etc of the leatherman.. however I can’t tell you how many times I got blood blisters from a wave. I will say leatherman leather holster is unbeatable
I have just managed to acquire one here in the U.K. And I am impressed with it. The locking blade means it can not be carried in public without a good reason but it's still a good tool.
Your video is very useful, and the best thing is to show the pliers in use, because the other people who made videos about this multitools just talk, talk, talk, blah, blah, blah! Because that's the point here, to show the pliers, because that's the point of the SOG multitools, otherwise I would have bought a Swiss army knife without pliers!🙃
I kinda admire sog this year for at least thinking outside he box with their multitools - these and the Q series. Beats Leathermans 'sell single tool arms as new tools' 2017 strategy for sure 😂
0 can openers. you could use the little thumb notches as bottle openers in a pinch, but only on the scissors or file since the drivers don't lock and the knife has a closed loop.
Wouldn't it have made more sense to have the screwdriver locked rather than the scissors? I'm kind of on the fence with this, it looks kind of cool and the fact that the handle extends will give the pliers more leverage than your typical multitool. But that that shape makes the rest of the tools a bit of a hassle to use. Ultimately it's not for me I think but it's always interesting to see alternative concepts that differs from the established norm.
Why didn't you try unfolding 1 of the 2 "handles" so its not so square when you are using the accessory tools? The side of the pliers looks like it would be more comfortable to push on than the sharp looking plates.
Good idea I like the belt idea I would like to use it with the Wazoo cache belt I think that the Wazoo belt has a slide lock buckle. I'll have to call Wazoo and ask. Good review
Does anyone have any real world experience with this or the first one? I read a review on their website for the first one that it only stayed in the buckle for about a week until it started falling out or whatever. I'd like to try one but hate for it to be a nuisance as a belt buckle.
Seems a little gimmicky, I'll stick with my SURGE. Good thorough video as always though Ben thanks and keep up the good work. Good luck in the new homestead
Too much expensive ... well, if you have money left after buying the Leatherman Wave + and you do not know what to do with it ... Let's say collector. SOG would do better to make full-size multi-tools, well-equipped and innovative, with quality steels (unlike the PowerAccess Deluxe) instead of gadgets (Sync / Baton) for the remainder.
Why the frack would you ever want your scissors to lock over your screwdriver? the knife and the screwdrivers are the only things that are actually really important to lock and the messed it up..
I like the tool part, how flat it is and the weight is bearable for pocket carry but I think I'm paying too much for something I'm not going to use (the belt clip) . Maybe they should have had some kind of pocket clip conversion thing with it, to either use it as a belt buckle or change it to a pocket clip ( it's too heavy for pocket carry with that belt piece imho).
Not going to buy this one. I think the ability to wear it as a belt is a neat idea, but nothing else about this tool really seems to stand out to me. The pliers look decent, the knife looks a bit small, not sure about the scissors. The fact that the drivers don't lock into place seems like a pretty big flaw to me, and the width of the tool seems likely to make the fact that the drivers are off center even more awkward than on most multi-tools. the MSRP on it is $80 Amazon price is currently $59.95. At 3/4 the price of most of the big name multi-tools I can see people buying this as a back-up tool.
Buy your SOG Sync II on Amazon: amzn.to/2tHy6vt

Being a sucker for a cool gadget I'd probably buy it but i really like those q series tools more.
Got my sync 2 travel on a home made paracord belt. Works wonders!
I like that SOG is creative with there designs. Nice vid.

Very interesting , does have its purpose. Plier is pretty strong. Thanks. Tony.
yes it is.
Love this but wish it had the power assist quality.
5Cr13... Even if you're not a steel snob that probably won't last until the end of a lot of tasks.

Awesome as always Ben and what a unique tool
I've had mine a couple of weeks, I like it.... kinda handy!
good little tool for sure.
the pocket clip could also be used to hold money or cards in your pocket
it's a really strong clip so it might be harder than it seems.
2 Can openers?
I can's never enough.

i agree with you. thanks for the comment.

Okay so why do the scissors lock but not the screwdriver, that is just not right. Screwdrivers should lock out and the scissors don't need to.
Handy unit good stuff!
Right on Ben!
thanks for watching Dillon.

Awesome video sir!
Don't hate it but not sure I like it. Will need to use it before I can make a decision. But it was a great review and video.
thanks james.
Interesting! I don't hate it, but I don't love it enough to buy one. Great review though! Thanks Ben!
interesting idea but i will keep my leatherman surge
BIG Love It

I wish they had made it so that the blade did not lock. Locking version is illegal in the uk.
just keep the screwdriver halfway out...no lock, LMAO
Can I wear it onto a plane?
Yes. This is my question. It says TSA approved but what doors that really mean? Can you get through security with the small knife??
Dude you could be related to Rob Schneider and that's meant as a compliment.

I wish they would get rid of scissors on all multi tool and mult knives.
I think having to open the black tool right in the path of the blade to unlock it is a safety hazard... and a lawsuit waiting to happen
could that fit into your wallet when its not clipped onto the pocket clip? it looks the same size as a credit card.
It’s maybe the thickness of 1/3 a deck of cards.
Living Survival thanks mate

Cool product but don't think it's for me. Thanks for the comprehensive truthful review.
thanks

SPA!
seems as useless as the Leatherman bracelet thingy ... but to each their own.😉
SOG are all made in Taiwan, so I m running away from it.
Too much fuss. Rather have a pair of needle nose and a swiss army knife. That is just plain weird.
yep...love it or hate it...I'm a hater today....lol Good video though...
thanks randy.
would not touch that with a 10 foot pole
Ain't feelin' it.
Way too bulky imo
This I can live without. I have better options.
I think its kinda waste of money
