I have the SOG baton Q1 pen and it was/is a great tool/pen. I always wish there was a Q1/Q2 hybrid where it was a pen bottom and a knife inside
I haven't seen a pen with that style of blade, but a lot of companies make pens with integrated letter openers
Extremely well done video with everything you need to know and nothing you don't. I have a couple of these and have been every happy with them. As a writer, the Q1 has been great. Most of all I appreciate that you really efficient with your video and unlike others, you don't waste time sidetracking and weighing things down with needless jibber jabber. Thank you!

I've always been conflicted on these i thought they where cool and seemed handy but none of them are what I'd consider durable enough for the level of abuse I'd put them through
The thing with multitools is you have to try to know lol I know guys who have $100+ multitools and they dont use them much at all and other contractors that use their $5 ones daily without problems...Everything is strong enough for the job until its not but without trying it out you will never know...
@@cutlerylover yeah i have and that's why i didn't get one ive broken 3 gerber dimes and one of their out the front pliers i carried a Leatherman rebar for about 7 years then a wave for 2 and im currently carrying a supet tool and a 40$ ozark trail knock off of the wave and i gotta say i love it for the price
I got an excellent deal on a 2nd one at 20$ to replace the first if it gets lost or broken

If the Q2 had a folding set of scissors similar to SAKs, that would be even more desirable. Nice. Great video as always.
I stopped carrying my q4 because everytime I went to use the pliers the handles would slide closed a bit and make them bind, same with the scissors on the q1 I have.
sorry to hear that but its a very fair reason to stop using it that would annoy me...
Oh no! I just got my Q1 and thats one of the first things I noticed, im hoping I just learn to develop a "technique"
I bought them all, and they are great tools for the current prices. I don't like how the handles can slip forward on you with the Q3 while using the pliers, but I can put up with that little nuisance because the rest of tool is so great.

I do still see these at some local sporting stores. They are discontinued, but there is currently some stock still out there.

i Bought the Q4 for my Fiancee to keep in her Ford Focus as a SHTF Situation Vehicle Tool.

I just got the Q3 and am really digging the sleek and posh feeling of the "baton" in hand. I also ordered the rest of them and got some really great deals on them! So, I'm surfing UA-cam and looking to see if anyone showed a handy way of carrying the Q4 and bit set. I just found a great little holster on Amazon that looks like it'll hold them both! It's adjustable enough to hold a 6" flashlight all the way up to a 10" hammer! Which puts the Q4 right in the middle. Now I have options for my edc load-out according to day that I am possibly expecting. Sucks that SOG has discontinued the lineup 😕 😒 😪. I imagine that they could have updated the lineup with some possibly better materials or an added form-fitting case for them. Oh well, I'm just happy to be able get them all for my collection and addition to other various SOG pocket and fixed blades. Excellent video and content. Thanks!

about $23-$70 depending on which one you wanted, the Q1 is the cheapest and the price goes up as you go through the models...
The Q2 would be soooooo controversial in western Europe, what with disguised arms laws. I don't personally think there's anything particularly wrong with it, so let's not get political, but I see our police getting all over that. It is at the end of the day, a flashlight that also has a knife in it, can be intimidating if you're on the wrong end of it.
Just to reiterate, I think Europe is often too strict with blade legislation, but that's how it be unfortunately.
Q1: a multitool without a knife makes no sense.
Plus in real "survival" sense, a pencil is more practical and reliable. Understandable it is discontinued.
