  • in this video i'm replacing a halogen bulb on an F31 320i BMW and installing an Auxbeam LED bulb. this can be done on all BMW's that use the H7 type bulb. this specifically for the F30/F31/F32 also works on 1 series 2 series 3 series and 5 series.
    These exact bulbs can be purchased here:

    I had a similar low beam pattern with my street legal LED´s. Turned out it's very important in which position they are, slightly turned too much to the left or right created a messy beam pattern. Under ideal circumstances, the 2 LED chips on the "bulb" have to point left and right perfectly horizontal.

    Excellent and clear tutorial! I would also add to re-aim the headlights after bulb replacement as the beam pattern in the video looks like a "hot mess". It only takes a few turns of a screwdriver, a flat wall, and some measuring tape. I'm sure only minor adjustments are needed, but rarely when you change the bulb is it perfectly aligned like the old bulb. Lastly, how has the long term results been since you installed these LED bulbs? Did you also replace the high beams as well.

    • @thebravoconnection946
      @thebravoconnection946  3 роки тому +4

      That is true on some early gen bulbs and some other low cost entry level bulbs but with good quality bulbs that isn't the case anymore, these bulbs have a built in glare shield that gives it a nice cut off so you don't blind people behind them. My customer on this car is one of my close friends and has been very happy with these bulbs.

    • @thebravoconnection946

      For the day time running bulbs you can change to led , I believe it was a t10 type bulb but you need one that is canbus ready so it won't show any error codes and should be a slim type, the big round ones might not fit.
      For the high beams the access door is on the top of the housing and you will need another set of led lights, I think it was another set of h7. Im actually going to be swaping all those to led soon aswell as the fogs. So ill do a video on that later.

    Will they get too hot? (Compared to halogen I doubt it)

      The bulbs that came off your vehicle are they also h7 halogen type? And are the led bulbs you bought also h7? If they are, they should fit, one thing I forgot to mention on the video is on most led bulbs if for any reason you have trouble installing you have the option of twisting off the led bulbs mounting plate and it comes off and install that first to the headlight, then after just slide the led bulb in and twist it to lock it in place. Take a look at your led bulbs on the mounting plate you should be able to twist it off and the led and fan assembly will slide off.
