There is one more hidden feature in the car. I found this out yesterday (accidentaly):
1) I put my car keys in my school bag.
2) I put the bag inside the car boot and tried shutting the boot.
3) The car never allowed me to shut the boot.
This is an amazing feature, that saved me from a lot of inconvenience. I marvel at BMWs design feature.
I owned my BMW 320i since May 2013. I found out about this feature accidentally yesterday 02/24/2023.
This is standard in most cars
It’s saved you a lot of inconvenience, but you just learned about it yesterday
I got locked out of my F20 at a hotel because I left the key in my bag and shut the boot. @@fabianpeterkin9710

There was actually a few here I didn't know about. Thanks for sharing!
Had my f30 for 5 years and only knew 3 of these. Thanks for the info.
I have a 2014 BMW 328D M Sport, and I just love it. I have had it for over 2 years without any issues. We recently drove to Vancouver WA from California, much of the way we cruised at 75 to 80 MPH. I averaged over 43 MPG. This is the perfect road trip car. Very comfortable and after adding the BAV Sound Speaker System the sound system is awesome.
I test drove a 328d but it had a couple of issues. I did get a 328i. I love how smooth and predictable the acceleration is in comfort mode. For a gasser, it's still very efficient.
Hey man I know it’s been 4 years but I’m thinking of getting the same car, after more time has passed do you like it the same?
@@carsonteeter302 Yes, I love it. My car now has around 80,000 miles on it. I have not had any mechanical issues,. I don't beat it up, I drive it nice. I just did a trip to San Diego, from Tracy California and average 43.8 MPG and I was driving on cruise control most of the time at 76 MPH. This is a great car for long trips.
I own this exact car in the video lol we picked it from Country Chev a year ago, weird coincidence to stumble across this video
🤣🤣
Can you sell it me ,I'm in Kenya africa
Great video! Many i had already figured out, but there are many i didn't know!
New to the BMW fam. Learning and liking your video. Thanks
Thank you. That was really useful.
I love the ding bell that sounds when you do anything in the car. I love it as I bought the 328i last week. Love every bit of it.
thought I was the only one LOL
I’m currently looking at buying one! Have you had any problems with yours??
Very informative, thank You for sharing these insights
Great Video. I have the exact car in the video same color and everything. I know I see this video after owning it for 8 month! Kind of feel good and not bad for not knowing this ahead. Four were new to me, about try them out 🤙🏾
I didn't know a few of these. thanks!
Thank you so much for doing this video... I currently own the BMW 328i Turbo and had NOOOOO IDEAAAAA about half of this stuff 😩😩😩😩
Tip in the hood latch’s on BMWs more than a couple years old: There are two cables. One from the handle to the left latch, and another from the left latch to the right latch. So if only one side opens your cable fell off or broke. I suggest using some stainless cables and attach some “emergency release” cables to both. Run them down to under the engine splash shield and tuck them away.
Thank you 👍🏼
nice job! ive had my f30 for almost a year and learned a few things from your video
let me guess this is your first bmw. almost all of the "hidden" features described in the video can be found in older model as old as 2003.
And what's wrong with that? I don't know, but people are not all the same age...!? or wait, you just wanted to let people know you've owned BMW's for over 15 years. Thx, very helpfull comment.
Have you had any issues with it? And is it Diesel/manual and also is it automatic/manual?
Any issues at all with it
Makes me love my Beamer even more!!!
Josh Bois TV .
*Bimmer. Beamer is motorbikes.
InsaneBimmer I love seeing someone use BIMMER properly
Dudes correcting Beamer and Bimmer, that’s gay. “OMG it’s Bimmer”, like who gives a shit.
Good video thanks I have the same car I love it
Nice - thank you!
Thanks!
Thanks for the 10 things
Good video bro. Ignore all the haters! At the end of the day they’re making you money :)
Very helpful! Thank you
Wow didn’t know any of these things thanks !
very informative. thank you. I'm currently looking at the 328d for my next car. this is cool stuff that BMW has incorporated.
MrJovila1234 I just got a 2015 328D a week ago. I like it so far. Did you end up getting one?
the “unlock” is for you to add all the last 5 digits of your vin then you get more options
Nice features.. Thank you..
I don’t know but that window feature you showed at the end is wicked. I’m buying a 2014 bmw 335i 6-speed this Saturday and now I really can’t wait!
How has it been?
Wow thanks! Just bought 328i and so excited
Can't wait to get mine soon. Cheers mate
Whoa...didn't know about the windows/sunroof from the key fob thing! Cool :)
Nice video! One sad thing about BMW culture today is that they make an active effort to bind you to the dealer - even going so far as to include many installed features in some sort of "subscription" scheme. And looking in the owner's manual for oil quantity recommendations it has a phrase "Oil changes should be done only by authorized BMW dealers." HAHA...Really, REALLY?????? Thank goodness for UA-cam and guys like you who produce such useful videos so we can perform simple maintenance on our wonderful cars.
Very informative
You can "force touch" the cruise control lever up or down to increase or decrease by 5mph at a time. So if you're going 72 and push the lever up all the way (you'll feel a "bump") it will go to 75. Do it again and it will go to 80, then 85, etc.
"Show off to your friends and family members" lolwut.
nice shot,thx
Great information
I had a 350z before my f30 so the last hidden feature made me feel a lil nostalgic
Very interesting
have the car for almost an year now and didn't know the remote windows down feature
Nice video. No one should assume everyone already knows all of them.
And yet everyone of them do lol
Thanks for the video. Bimmer's but terrified to try the cigarette 🚬 lighter. Will you do a video of it please! 😂
Short and cool vid
Thank you, some of these are neat.
Cool. Thanks
This is like an instruction manual in video form :)
When you were in the hidden menu, why didn't you UNLOCK the rest of the menu. Then you can see the speedometer, rev counter, fuel tank and some other features in digital form on the dashboard.... THAT is a hidden feature :)
That little tray in the cup holder also has a storage net in the top of the glove box :-D
Never knew this - thanks!
Great commentary
So my 2013 328i has those features?! Wtf I wouldn't realize this for 100 years if I didn't watch this vid ty man
Alex Larsson No problem! Thank you for watching!
he's being sarcastic
Aneesh Sankruth cry more
Thank you Jerry much!
Great video but mine doesn't have finger sensor wondeirng if that's the same model 320i Xdrive 2014
Boi is that guy trying to park that suburban
thanks - didn't know most.
Thank you
Thanks for the vid. You can also hold the BMW button on the key and it will close all windows and sunroof
This is my first BMW so I’m learning all I can
It wasn't mentioned in the video, so I'll mention it here. The Europe side parking light feature is still active. Europe isn't required to have side reflectors as in the USA, they use one-sided parking lights if on the side of the road. To do this: Turn OFF the car. Push and hold the turn signal either left or right and only one headlight/angel eye & one taillight will come on for that side. The other side of the car will be dark. This alerts drivers you are on the roadside without draining too much battery. Hope you find it fun and helpful.
FYI the 2x hood release is designed so you don't get dirty fingers trying to find the latch under the lip of the hood.
I didn't get what he wanted to tell us with that information. 😂
You’re gonna get your fingers dirty anyways if you actually plan on doing any work. Still a great feature since it saves you from looking like a dolt trying to find the latch.
it’s designed for pedestrian safety, latches are located on the sides rather than in the middle making that a soft zone in case of impact
I learned a few things. Course though, I bought a Beamer second hand. And it's my first.
Last spring (2019) I purchased my first BMW X3 - it was awesome. Two weeks ago coming home from work on the highway another car caused a four vehicle pile up. All three air bags blew, my first BMW was totaled. Needless to say, I'm sold on BMW's safety record. I have an F30 Luxury Line now. It's very comfy, well mannered, but flip it in Sport Mode and it rocks.
I own 2017 one 330e hybrid, love it. Apart from having analogue display and no reversing camera, ofcourse you get them for extra, but apparently there wasn't a single one with any of these lol.
Vaidas Skanas base model
Thanks! I’m a new owner of BMW and this video is quite informative
These are hidden features for people who don't own a BMW yet. 🙄
I had the car for two years, and I didn't know any of that until I saw this video!
Or a car, for that matter.
not even the automatic one, where if u break and turn engine off, ur automatically in park?
u don't know y?
I have 2 bmw’s at the age of 20.
Nice job
Terrence McKelvey to
Did not know about the windows. Nice
Well...learned som'n new about my '14 320i
Stef .. Im thinking of buying this model ... has it been treating you well over these past 2 years ,, adn do you still have it? any complaints .. plz lmk
@@jfox1416 I still have it... the only problem is the inner door handle grips will melt LITERALLY. I just replaced them with some aftermarket ones that look and feel better. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a 5 or 7 series has but it's been very dependable thus far 👍🏾
I just got my 330i xdrive yesterday and read the whole manual, but this was helpful seeing things in person. I have a lot to learn, this is my first bmw..coming from years of Acuras. Last one being an 06 csx, so my head is spinning with this car
I love the manual
I roll a 328i and didn't know about half of these. Thanks for the video.
is maintenance and repairs expensive?
@@jmwarrior23
The regular maintenance is kind of expensive in that an oil change is going to cost $150 and brakes are like $800. Here in the Bay Area European cars are a dime a dozen so it's easy to find mechanics that specialize in them, but if you're somewhere else it might not be so easy. I'm not worried that the vehicle is going to leave me stranded and 200k miles seems reasonable. My last car was an Audi A6 and I can say this car definitely an upgrade in terms of performance and handling.
@@ieast007 Thanks for the info I'm considering purchasing a 2016 328i with 29k miles
@@jmwarrior23 If you're in a position where you can afford the maintenance, I would say go for it. BMW beats any Japanese car hands down in terms of performance and style. The downside is that any European Luxury car is extremely expensive to maintain. The other thing is once you get used to driving a German car you get hooked. Nothing else measures up.
Beside the park feature and the hood latch and the sunroof vents features you'll find most of what you mentioned on BMWs from 04 and up
I would have never guessed you used an iPhone to record this video. Great quality!
I knew all the features. I just read the manual and tested everything i could find there. Its kinda a perfect car if you ask me.
Needs an LS swap…
I learn it all from this video I’m to lazy reading the manual
Here is one more. You can close all windows and the rear mirrors by holding the "Close" button on the remote control
doest work on my 2012 320i bmw :O
Francis are u serious? it works pretty well on my 05/2012 320d ^^
Francis D Gareau i drive 2014th gen. and i can open the rear flap by holding the button for rear flap and close it by holding the button again, try it :) if it didn't does, maybe u can let it coding.
xpaschanx most key fob vehicle will let u roll down all windows by pressing unlock 3 times and hold last press...but in the USA it's illegal for the manufacturer to let you remotely roll them back up for some reason
ok nice to know thx
The window role up and down feature, i had in 2004 x3
The irony of having to watch a BMW ad before this video.
😂😂
Bought a 2013 320i GT and can't wait to test and play with these functions thanks! :D
I'm thinking of buying a 328i 2015 and wanted your advice if its a good car to get or if there is another model under 22k that is more reliable. Also since I wont be doing my own servicing can you give me a realistic idea how much I will be spending yearly to maintain this car, service and repairs? If the carfax doesnt include a list of services performed over the life of the car, is the final dealer inspection enough to know the truth as to the condition of the car? Basically can a mechanic determine overall condition if they dont have a service history on the car? Thanks
LoL I watched this but actually I just realised:
I don't have a 3 series
I don't have a BMW
I don't have a car
RIP ME
I don't have a drivers license
I don't have money
I don't have a house
Just believe in yourself bro.. Need a little bit of hard work 💪
@@muhammadfaris8436 I work my ass off only to pay my college 😟
show them how to open a doors with this phisical KEY!!!!
another feature i found out about, is that when you press down the right pedal, the car will start to move foward. its a pretty cool feature that BMW incorporated, and you can use it to show off to your friends and family. you're welcome.
🥱
Does this have attachment points underneath the rails to attach a roof rack? If so, how do you remove the rails. Mine have no 'doors' in the rails. Thanks
I would like to ask what happens if you push the ignitiom button during the car is moving or moving faster. For example when you accidentaly push the ignition on highway. Car stops ?? Or you brake the engine?
Also press and hold the traction control button to completely switch off DSC (on the cluster there will be a bright DSC off not traction that you are used to after pressing once) , if you are not an advanced driver i will advise you not to drive the car when dynamic stability control is completely off you will crash your car.
If you unlock the car, and then don't open a door or the trunk within certain time, the car locks itself.
the sunroof feature and the ambient lighting for the shift lever, were on my 2004 acura tl....
We have a 2016 320 I but for some reason when we hold that button down for 10 seconds we don’t get anything that says “test”. We’re just trying to find out what the battery life is since we just purchased the vehicle. Any suggestions?
BMW has most of these feature back in E36 model generation. Should talk about how you can hack into bimmer codes and do wonderful things.
mikelin7 buy Carly adapter second generation design, connect that with your phone and open up another 12 options
If you accidentally tapped the flappy paddles and engaged the sequential shifting, you can disengage it by quickly tapping downshift, upshift and downshift.
Had one of these for over a year and didn't know all of this.
Hi i own a 2014 bmw 328i M3 and i was checking out the hidden features bmw has. I seen your video and i tried doing exactly what you show and it don't do anything. What do you think it is?
Will bmw come in a key that you put for ignition. Is there an option
Wow didn’t realize orange lights thanks bucks
I have this exact car but I have the better headlights and the smaller screen and no sunroof. Only issue I’ve had was my blinker went out which was a $10 bulb fix
Except for the service menu, this is all described in the operation manual
as a techsavy new owner of a 2013 bmw I knew most and some I knew do not exists - at least in europe the touch lock from outside is an addon-option (which I do not have).
Another cool hidden feature of BMW is turn signals.
How does this not have 1000 likes?!
@@Perry_Wolf I just got this same model 318i. Really nice handling. When I pull down the lever on steering column then some orange lights starts to blink on left side - really cool feature! I guess those are the turn signals. Cannot wait to try the right side 🙃🙃🙃
My 1993 e34 has all these features :P the windows and sunroof close fully with just one press on the fob. You don’t need to keep it pressed
Like it :))
can you please tell me something. i have bought a bmw 320i the fluel cap wont lock and stay open is that normal i cant even lock it at night time so it stays open somone can just walk by and clik to open it. it sound a bit weird. and scary people can purse staff inside. it.
You forgot the one that is the most useful which is wiper service mode since you can't remove the wiper blades otherwise.
Where is the heated seat button? And my doesn’t do bio bio when I back up, like my old e90
What version of F30 is this? 320 or 328, any difference of feature between sports line and M version
