Yeah because the curls get super defined. But you are supposed to immediately hop under the dryer or diffuse to keep some of the length the products are giving you. It freezes your hair in placed. But air drying will give you the most shrinkage💯

I have the same hair texture as you, finally found someone I can follow lol
In down south dry heat, wearing my tight curls out in a fro gave me about 4 inches of single strand knots that I had to cut out. Also, the air helps dries out my hair products super fast since it isn’t sealed with twists or braids.. yea.. only sealed and protective hairstyles for me.. would love to be able to do this and not worry about damage !

So I have been trying to grow my hair out for a year now. Ive have bad hair breakage in the back and it repeats everytime I take out a sew in or braids. I really want my hair to look like yours. Do you think I can get to at least to neck length with the thickness in under 2 years?
