So great to see you back! Don 't leave and make more videos. You can't imagine how much you helped me through my health journey with hair lost back in 2014. I got the same hair at Mercy's but now my real hair has grown back.

I recently tried braids again this Summer to switch things up and I loved them! However, my hair was terribly dehydrated and the curl pattern took about a month or more to bounce back. I would say continue to enjoy your hair while protecting the integrity. I went natural 13 years ago for versatility and I like to try new things. I sometimes flat iron, but get damage easily whether going to a salon or doing it myself. It’s just easier to wear it curly most of the time since it looks better and better the more it is worn in it’s true texture. I am still trying to find balance.
For our type 4 texture, olive, avocado and omega oils containing products are the best for moisture. Coconut oil is drying.
I’ve also observed that brands like Mane Choice, Camille Rose and Uncle Funky’s seem to work best for moisture and definition with Type 4 hair.
For fine edges, Jamaican black castor oil (or Haitian black castor oil) is amazing. I apply it on my edges right after styling on wash day. Good luck!

Your hair texture/pattern is similar to mines majority of my hair is 4a but the perimeter is like 3c... but my edges are on the thin side so I don’t normally try styles like this but I love this look the curls look beautiful.

My hair pattern varies but it’s anywhere between 4A/4B fine and course

Hair turned out beautiful! And you say you have allergies and you own a cat. Oh No! I went to a allergy specialist and they said pet dandruff, feather pillows, rugs get rid of them all. I will wake up every morning with puffy eyes. Good luck!
