Man, the Daylight is such a beauty, so is this model. I was fortunate to ride the 1:1 Daylight a couple years back ... what a jaw dropping experience. Shes still operational today and hope to ride her again someday =)
This thing takes accuracy, awesomeness, and beauty, to whole other plain of existence. I don’t know why this showed up in my recommended, but I’m SO GLAD it did!
This video is very amazing..Feeling of this little steam train is same as original steam train. Very sharp creativity. I have very interested on this little train. Very appreciable creativity. Carry-on your greate job.
I rode on the actual daylight 4449 almost every time it was brought down the coast from Portland. About the only trip i wasn’t able to go on was when Disney used it for advertising of the movie “Tough guys” .On the Daylights first run, it set a ton of records for a train! Fastest train between S.F. And L.A. most passengers, most meals served on board a train and a lot more i cant recall at the moment,!! Many years later in 1955 when the Diesels were taking the place of steam, the two trains passed by each other in San Luis Obispo by the world famous “Horse shoe Curve” just north on the Daylights last run. On the 1984 Louisiana exposition Daylight special trip, i met Rogers Whitaker who was an editor of the New Yorker Magazine and is called the “Worlds Greatest Train Buff” having ridden 2.7 million miles by rail during his lifetime! A jolly hospitable man who seemed to enjoy meeting people, EVEN my young niece and Nephew who I got photos of him with! The Daylight IS the most beautiful train in the world!! Then and now......
So beautiful. I wish that America was more into live steam. It's so much more participatory. (We'd likely try to apply various valves and water feed to radio control.)
OUTSTANDING VIDEO WORK!!!!! Definitely needs an FPV camera from the operators can view and passenger train car. Most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Truly remarkable
A wonderful locomotive, thank you for sharing your passion. I'm a big fan of steam locomotives and would love to build something like this. Keep on chugging!
My Grandfather was a Conductor on The S. P. Daylight. (Before that, I believe, he was on The Lark and The Owl.) I would love to obtain this complete set of the train he served on!
@@RAMROD4708 growing up I knew a guy in New Zealand that modelled sp he had Daylight and Lark....that I knew of... But I fell on love with that era of the SP I love this scale of loco but honestly I would go N scale if I was gonna model this just for the mass of scenery Thanks for the reply!

Fantastic model...i have been fortunate to be on the Espee 4449 every time it was out on a rail fan trip...except.....when the Disney Studios had it out for the movie Tough Guys but only Disney associated people were allowed on board. The Daylight streamlined trains set sooooooooo many records their first time out and it was aptly called “the most beautiful train in the world” , i know its my favorite U.S. train...i have S gauge American Flyer model trains but they didn’t make the Daylights so when Fundimensions bought them out and came out with the diesel Daylight sets, i bought two, kept one set diesel and made a 4449 Daylight engine out of a Hudson so I had both versions.. (yes, yes, I know it isn’t the correct locomotive but it works!) i used aluminum newspaper printing sheets to make the side “fenders” out of and painted the engine the appropriate Daylight colors and when I ran the trains at the local museum on Christmas, everyone was delighted, especially the older “kids”!, lol
This is all class. So good to see the daylight flexing its muscle. What a great display of steam and theatre. I am fortunate enough to posess the identical train although USA trains cars, oh and only 4 carriages. I wonder what the weight of all those carriages is. Incredible amount of torqe from the daylight to (once moving) pull that effortlesly.
I can relate now, I own an MTH one gauge Gauge one G scale Southern Pacific 4-8-4 GS-2! Its in Southern Pacific Black and is number #4413. not live steam, but it’s the same track gauge as this train, and I’ll love it till the day I die!
That's just cool as hell. I got to ride the 4449 in Portland Oregon a few years ago and even got to sit in the cab before the run. You have a beautiful steamer there guys!
are any of the valves and levers attached to any servos for remote control? or at the very least some sort of stopping mechanism if it runs away because id imagine much like a real train, it could blow up if there isn't enough water and the steam pressure gets too high
maybe you have the Auto sound level set to ON on your Phone or camera. BUT... I do love that the Sound is recorded much higher than 90% of all other UA-cam videos. That does make a big difference playing back on my Apple HomePod Speakers. The difference is that it drives my HomePod speakers a little harder producing better sound not just louder sound. And there is a BIG difference.
Awesome! Someone has spent a lot of time and money. I saw/experienced the original SP-4449 in Southern Ohio one day. I lived close to the tracks and was used train whistles at all hours, then one afternoon I heard the 4449's approach with it's totally original sounding whistle. It had made a rare east coast appearances (Virginia I think) and was headed back to the west coast. Very Impressive!
Thank you for sharing your passion, I could not imagine a better use of a backyard.
I became 10 years old watching this video ,thank you!
