So "Good bye Mavic 3" is equal to "I will still use my 3 Pro because it has better quality in certain scenarios"... not a clickbait at all : ) : )

My evolution went from Mavic to Mavic Air 2 to Air 2s to Air 3. I found that the air series offered great resolution in a compact package. Now with the Air 3, I feel like I have everything I could need while retaining the small form factor and saving a lot of money over moving to the Mavic 3 Pro.
I literally did the same evolution. 👊🏽
Thanks, Ken. That was helpful. I’ve been looking for a simple review of the Air 3 prior to my purchase and many other reviews were getting side-tracked on sensor size and comparisons with several other DJI models. That just complicated the review. Thank you for making this far more straightforward.
All the best,
- Robert
Very welcome!
Much of your motivation were my thoughts too on chosing Air 3 over Mavic 3 Classic. Decibels, great O4 steady transmission, at daytime very good image quality, nighttime pretty ok, battery time, and that 2nd 3x cam that is even better than M3P as far as I know, for the new sensor
Loving mine so far. The 70mm is great. The Air 3 is so far as advertised. Thanks for your thoughts and reviews on this drone.
Even if dji is paying you for promotion there’s a point where you have to think if switching over the to the new product saying the same reason you drop the previous drone is just going to affect your brand and following trust.
Number one nobody pays me I use whatever I want to use for the job that I’m doing. My clients pay me and if they can’t tell the difference and it’s making my job easier because I can easily put the Drone in my bag and have room for lenses and gear then I’m gonna use it.
I listed out the reasons… personally give zero 🦊 what you think since.. my bills are paid by clients not UA-cam
I don’t agree with your comment…with new tech comes new opinions which the Air 3 to Ken’s point has several things that he sees that are better than the M3. As these drones get better each year, use cases will change-all of these drones are great and they do get better over time.
THAT'S SO TRUE. I just bought the Air 3 mainly because of his previous video which was all praising this drone.
There is a lot of good (bigger flight time, ease of use etc.), BUT the elephant in the room is the camera quality. It's VERY BAD trust me. Even more when there is no ND filters available on DJI's website when you thought it was included in the fly more kit. So this drone is unusable atm because without filters the image quality is disgusting because you can't control the aperture. But also because the image in general in very oversharpened, it looks very digital, coming from a phone. My old Mavic 2 Pro has way better image quality. Oh yeah and BTW DJI thank you for not including a power brick in the combo. Because you can't charge your batteries whith a traditional wall plug or it will take forever. And yes that powerbrick is not available as well on the DJI Website. And it costs an additional 80€. You'll spend $200 more to buy ND filters and a power brick. What a joke ! I'm sending it back
@@AxisImagery it’s 3 months since he did the mavic 3 same reasons
@@laurenthenryIf you look on DJI website, they never said that the ND filters came with the fly more combo. As far as AC power “bricks” supply…. Many of us have several already from other drones or other electronics.
But I can appreciate your opinions on the DJI Air 3….. even though they all seem very negative! 😅
Just from my personal experience. But the Mini 3 Pro is King among photographers in my area. It’s what it seems everyone is using, especially the ones doing it without their 107. (We’ve discussed this before) but since I’ve been posting photos with the Air 3 the past week/ week and a half I’ve gained a ton of new followers on my FB business page as well as a lot of people commenting on how great the photos are and how “different” they look from others around drone images. So I’m enjoying the extra exposure it’s giving me. Anecdotally and my opinion but that’s what I got going. Great video Ken appreciate your perspective!
Nice review Ken! When all is said and done, it comes down to what works best for the workflow. Better form factor, color grade matching between cameras used, great flight time and OC 4. Solid offering from DJI.
Super interesting with your real life experience of the two drones. You mention things that are really important that I haven't heard anyone else talk about. Thanks a lot for this, really helpful! 😊
I agree. Air 3 has better flight time, more stable connection, less vibration and smaller compared to Mavic 3 pro. Less of a hassle. Love the convenience so far.
You mention that people don’t pay much attention to you flying the Air 3 versus the Mavic 3. I have to say that I have to admit I have the same experience. The past weekend I went to Cocoa Beach and flew from the beach to get some great beach shots. Yes I agree the sound is a bit less that the M3 but not too much. One thing I noticed this week that I think makes a difference of people noticing the drone and subsequently seeking out the pilot or just having an issue with a drone overhead, is the color! The light grey blends in with the sky much more than the dark grey, almost black of the M3. People just cannot see it very good and so they do not notice it.
Maybe it’s placebo but people couldn’t care less.. it’s a good feeling lol
Some of these people think if you have the inspire you’ll be taking It out daily 😂
The mini 3 pro is great for almost every one a step up being the Air 3 is perfect. To lug around a fat maverick 3 pro is insane if you don’t gotta. Specific tools for specific work, love your videos brother keep um coming!
The Air 3 is so fast at ascending and descending compared to my M3 Pro and I feel that it isn’t as loud as my M3 pro. As far as a range test, in my town where there is interference from wires etc. I could not notice a difference in range between the OS4 Air 3 and the OS3+ M3Pro. Range seemed to be the same to me. Even tested over a lake and M3 PRO lost signal at the same time as Air 3. If the OS4 is longer range than the OS3+ I’m not noticing it yet. May only be over a desert where you will notice it. Of course the explore mode on the Mavic three pro. Can’t be compared to anything. That drone really can zoom. And I would say the image quality is a little better, but not enough for anyone else to notice.
Yea its insane 😮 definitely loving the fly more kit for 1400 bucks from bnh
I got the Mavic Classic and love the sensor, is perfect for what i need. Gonna keep it for a couple years im sure.
Great review! Your points were right on the mark. The Air 3 is a very capable platform. Absolutely no buyer's remorse!

@@OriginaldoBo not to disappoint... ua-cam.com/video/rXbOAOfGHc8/v-deo.html My 1st Air 3 flight.
Quality wise, I think steps have become far more incremental ever since Mavic 2 Pro. If Air 3 is closing in on Mavic 3 then the big difference in cost is for a tiny bit of quality gain. That said, I sell photographs up to A1 size and for that I want the four thirds sensor and variable aperature. But I am not sure that would justify the difference if I was mainly using it for video.
For real estate images are being compressed so much it just doesn’t matter. If I was selling prints maybe not

100 % you are correct
So you tell us that the Air 3 is better than the mavic 3 pro, then why dji should sell the mavic 3 pro if its so crap ? Why somebody should buy mavic 3 pro ? You tell us that everyone should buy the air 3..
If the mavic 3 pro is so bad, why it should have even exist is the store ?
Thx for your feedback about this drone! I also like that you didnt use any Soundtrack in this video. I realize that to much music will turn off the main aspect of a video👍🏻
Glad you liked it!
I'm glad you mentioned that it is not as loud as the Mavic.
That's a big thing for me.
Seems like the gamma difference on the Mavic sort of negates the benefit of the better lenses.
I have both Mavic 3 pro and Air 3
Just sold my 2 Skydios
Having gone from Air2S - Air3 - Mavic 3 Classic ... Picture quality was a kick in the teeth with Air3 ... I sold up for the Avata 2 experience. But ended out getting a M3Classic. More solid in the air than the Air3 and variable aperture. My Mini2 still rocks ... And is still used side by side with M3Classic.
Needed a solid drone for the winds here in Ireland, I fly a lot of seascapes and mountains. And not got the option of landing to change ND filters.

Well it’s called work, see that’s a side effect of working long nights making money and owning a business.
Two points (sorta). 1. Last night, with cruise control set to 10mph I got 45 minutes 51 seconds of flight to 0%. I shouldn't have to point out that is outstanding. 2. You being a professional, one might think that the largest sensor possible would be best, but obviously not in your case. Those of us who have to buy all their "toys" and have a Mavic 3 and/ or Mini3 Pro, as you suggested, we don't really need the Air 3 enough to justify the cost. As of today, if I were starting out to buy my first drone, I would choose the Air 3 for the most bang for the buck available today...
Yep its definitely a good drone and the zoom lense it a huge reason to buy. The mavic classic is goold but just skip it for the mavic pro

Hi DoBo! Thanks again for another really helpful and informative video. I appreciate the work you do on your channel. As a new Air 3 owner (Mini 3 Pro previously) I have a question: how do you handle the different lens brightness between the wide and the tele? I was hoping that they build the ND filters in a way that they use a lighter ND grade for the tele lens so that you can use the same shutter speed and ISO, at least during day with NDs on.
But as it is... using shutter speed to equalize between wide and tele doesn't work for me since you'd need 1 1/3 stops brighter shutter speed for tele. I work in the 1/30 - 1/60 shutter speed range already (at 30 fps), so the only idea is using ISO 200 on the tele lens instead of ISO 100, but that would reduce the dynamic range and overall quality I'd suppose. Especially with color grading in post. And it goes against my common sense to first take away light with an ND and then put it back in with higher ISO.
So any input from you would be appreciated 🙏🏼 Thanks again!
I have been watching all the Air 3 vidya’s since it has been released.
I feel like this one is the most honest review when it comes to M3P vs. Air 3. Most other reviewers seem to lean towards saying the M3P is all around superior, and I feel like that is mostly due to the fact that they paid more for it!
I do not have the “pro photographer eye” but I do consider myself at the “not supershitty at photography” skill level and I can’t tell the difference in media from M3P to A3. I would bet 90% of people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
That said, great short comparison.
I have the mavic 3 pro. The next drone is definitely the air 3. Love your page

Awesome video! Gracefully laid out and easy to follow. Great info on both drones, and I liked that you gave use cases for both.
I think the 7X zoom on Mavic 3 would be great for most drone pilots. I'm purely recreational and would enjoy having that zoom capability.
I already have an Air 3 and just the 3X has been pretty remarkable. I've been able to get close to birds at the lake without disturbing them.
Great video. the only thing I don't agree with is the part at 4:39 where you said people are raving about the Hasselblad color but you don't shoot in the normal profiles. I may be wrong but, I'm guessing you're saying the color science of a camera system doesn't work in its LOG profiles or doesn't affect results which isn't actually correct, cos it does. however, about comparing the two drones, I feel it comes down to use case and what one looks for in a drone and I found that because of the larger sensor on the Mavic 3 classic which I have used, the image texture is just different, and has a less oversharpened look to it. but it's just my opinion anyway, I'd really love to try out the Air 3 to compare. but i love your videos, they're very transparent
You totally missed the point on the color , I film log when I need it. People love the color of the standard hassleblad

My Air 3 Fly More is on its way, should be here on 14th August. While the delivery approaches I’m getting more and more confused. I mainly shot aerials and less videos, but I’m interested in 70mm for the parallax effect, moreover the Air 3 comes with a better RC, I was pretty disappointed with the feeling of the first RC with the Mini 3 Pro. What would you do? Will you return the A3 in order to swap it with M3C? I’m afraid about dropping the second focal length, but on the other hand I’ll improve by a lot video and photo quality… please help me picking one, leaving money aside. I feel that buying M3C will be like buying “old tech” for OS3+ and Old RC.

Its funny DJI consistently deliver in the lower models like the Mini 3 Pro and the Air series but the bigger models they start to fall short. IMO they over complicated the Mavic 3 and I suspect the Standard edition is a better quad overall however DJI seem to have hit the sweet spot with the Air 3. Its a shame that 1 Inch sensor is gone but looking at your results here and in the other video it looks bang on. Great video as always Ken.

Hello, great video. I’m considering buying a DJI Air 3 and I’d like to know how reliable the obstacle sensors are. Are they trustworthy enough to truly rely on them to prevent any impact, or is it advised to fly the drone being extremely careful with potential collisions, using the sensors only as an additional aid? I get that they might not detect thin wires or branches, but regarding larger objects they’re supposed to avoid, are they 100% reliable or are there instances where they aren’t? I’m asking because if the sensors are only 70% reliable and fail 30% of the time, I might be better off getting a DJI Mini 3, which is cheaper and lacks sensors. Thank you very much!
If you rely on them you'll crash eventually.
In the subtext of this video lie an important understanding people tend to miss: The three families of consumer drones: The Mini, Air, and Mavic are not an evolution of one another, but rather the development happens within those families, each aimed at satisfying different needs. And although they may overlap in some areas and (naturally) share technologies, one should define what he or she expects of a drone, and then fit the right drone for the requirements. So the Mini might excel as a travel drone, while the Air is great for real-estate videos, and the Mavic, especially the 3 Pro with its big sensor, produces awesome photography results.
And the benefits sort of “roll back” too, as the Mavic could be great (if not better) for travel or real estate. May not be as convenient, but I think that’s a fine enough sacrifice for the quality, and if you get used to the drone enough then those benefits from the Air or Mini aren’t as essential.
I’m a REP too and can’t decide between the Air3 or the Mavic 3 Classico…

Another informative video, thanks Ken. Don't know if I'll ever sell my Air2s and Mini3 pro to get the Air3 but I did just order some "Love Handles" for the RC1. Waiting on the update to make the RC2 compatible with my drones and then I'll pick one up. have a great day Ken.
thanks Matt appreciate it
Thanks, Ken. I like it to for my landscapes. ..... now what to do with my M3 Cine??🤣
Keep all the drones
I do have a 'DJI Mavic 3 Pro' now that I bought about 2 weeks ago. I knew the 'DJI Air 3' was coming out around the same time as I was going to buy me a pretty nice drone. But because of some things the 'DJI Air 3' lacks or are missing, then I decided to buy the 'DJI Mavic 3 Pro' just a week before the 'DJI Air 3' came out.
1. Not the same aperture on the main camera and the 3x optical zoom camera, which makes the use of 'ND filters' a little tricky when using both of those cameras, I think. Yes, recording video or taking pictures from the main and 3x camera should be with the same aperture, ISO and shutter time.
DJI might have made it so both of the cameras on the Air 3 looks as much indentical as possible, even though they have different apertures. Are you able to find more out about this?
2. No adjustable aperture on the main camera. This always comes in handy when you already have the drone flying in bright situations.
3. No 7x optical zoom. It's not very important to have this camera, but it's really nice to have as you will absolutely use it if you have it.
4. 'Mavic 3 Pro' probably have some few software features the 'Air 3' doesn't have (yet).
5. Pictures taken with the main Micro 4/3-inch Hasselblad camera lens on the 'Mavic 3' series is going look better in most situations over the camera on the 'Air 3'.
The only 4 advantages the Air 3 have over the Mavic 3 series is.....
1. OcuSync 4.
2. The battery charger and the way the charger charges the batteries.
3. Slightly better flying time with the 'Air 3' over the 'Mavic 3 Pro'.
4. The price.
But yes, for the normal average joe / normal person, the 'DJI Air 3' is probably going to please most peoples very well when it comes to flying a drone, taking pictures and record videos.
Thanks for pointing out these differences, I had no idea about the ND thing but that’s sort of a dealbreaker, since I already thought the lack of aperture control was going to be an issue.
so is it like the Mavic is very worth it if you want a quality drone that’ll adapt to almost any situation, especially as a long term investment?
@@LordJagd I would say the Mavic 3 Pro is the way to go if you want as much flexibility as possible and the best possible quality you can get in a drone size like the Mavic 3 Pro.
Great video! I just purchased my first drone and I bought the DJI Air 3 fly more. Alot of the videos I'm finding online are more of comparison videos which I understand as most people probably are drone users. I am trying to find a video that will tell me what settings the best for a beginner on this drone are. Do I need to find a video editing app for my laptop? If I'm shooting video with the rc 2 remote, how do I get the video from the drone to my iPhone or laptop then to a finished product (for social media)? (I do have an SD card for it) any other tips you can give me as a beginner drone pilot would be amazing! Thanks much!
Bro... Here's the DJI Air 3 Download Center.
www.dji.com/mobile/downloads/products/air-3
Download the manual and you can use the Lightcut app to start editing. Most of your questions will be answered either in the manual or DJI's Tutorials UA-cam Channel.

can i just ask mate, what would be the best way to get real estate clients? do you get them direct from adverts and recommendations, or do you work with estate agents?
it really depends on your market and what services you plan to offer. I work with brokerages and individual agents
@@OriginaldoBo thanks for the reply buddy. i've been doing paid gigs and got work from my website but nothing sustained, just the odd job. i offer promotional/property services so really need to try get with estate agents if that's how you get a living from it. never thought of brokerages. i'm in Europe so i doubt we will have them here.
I'm with you. Can't go back to the Mavic 3 Pro. Everything you said and a big one for me is O4. I fly in congested areas and the signal on this thing is AMAZING.
The signal has been really good in down town. I use to get GPS issues and disconnects
@@OriginaldoBo I fly in Philly. Same places for years. I'm having no disconnects in areas I used to and just way more reliable.
Luv your vids...learning!! Mav 3 pro here!!
Now with Air 3 being out, finally we can hear shortcomings of Mavic 3 Pro, camera vibrations at 3x and etc. While before nobody mentioned about this! Thank you for the video!
Great video btw. I’m in Clearwater not many rules flying there.
Nice you like my comment , I did ask a question regarding flying in Tampa
Thank you for doing this video. It really helped me solidify my decision on getting the Air 3. Much appreciated!
btw! Thank you for putting Spring Hill, FL on the map! I also live here! 😀 I've seen your Apex Imaging work. You are super talented!
I’ve been playing with mine for about a week now and though the video is 100% on par with the Air 2S (lack of 5.4k is offset by the 3x lens imo) I’m struggling a bit with the photo quality compared to the 20mp 1” sensor of the 2S. The “48mp” images show a lot of strange artifacts when you look at 100%, almost painterly
They pixel binning will leave what I call worm artifacts
@@OriginaldoBo yah, that’s spot on
Yes, just use 12mp 4:3 mate. Way crisper
Great video! Mine arrives tomorrow and can't wait!
