The air 3 is actually the best quad I’ve ever had the pleasure of flying. It’s just SO good. I’ve never gotten 46 minutes,but I have gotten 35 and that’s robust flight time for a smaller drone.
My previous drone (original Mavic Pro) died and the Air 3 is my replacement. Some remarks where I used the drone for photo a lot: + High / amazing wind resistance + Good dynamic range of both cameras + Good flight time + 3rd party home and car 100W chargers works well and charges fast + USB-C chanrging and drone memory card access + Zoom camera parallax and compression effect + Good stationary position keeping (taking 2 out of 10 sharp photo's with the zoom camera at 1 second shutter speed using ND1000) + Many automated flight modes - Remote ID - ND filters needed - Freewell ND all day pack is mistakenly recognized as wide angle lens, limiting some automatic modes - No charger supplied - Active track failed to track my car on some occasions - Not all Android phones work well, when in doubt choose RC2 with screen To be tested: flying over flowing lava
Got both and love them both……use them for very different applications………fantastic camera on the Air 3 though……and much better in the wind. Wouldn’t be without other of them tbh 👍 …..
I bought the Air 3 a few months ago and am absolutely loving it!!! Has some amazing features as your video describes but for me it’s all about the battery life that puts it over the top!!! You are able to get all the shots you need and are not worried about having to cut it close with the battery. Excellent drone and would recommend everyone Air 3 is the way to go!!!

I've had this drone for a few years now and would love to upgrade and get both the Mini 4 and the Air 3 if I could. I would also do the A2 CofC so I could fly this drone in more places and closer to uninvolved people. But I've also heard rumours that the DJI Mini 5 is coming out later this year? I have the air2s and I’m sure like you say the 3 is better then the mini 4pro. But the fact is depending on where you fly. Uk restrictions for weight and discretion the mini 4 wins hands down at the moment my mini 4 is used 99% of the time and it would be the case if I and the air 3 sadly. So what I’m saying is it all depends on where you fly, built up, country side and people this is a major factor
I agree that this is still the drone to get right now. One of the pluses that I don't think you mentioned was the SPEED of this drone! It is VERY fast. You get where you want so quickly!
The difference in the DJI mini 4 and the DJI air 3 is mainly the wind resistance, with the DJI mini 4 it is a maximum of 5 before wind and with the DJI air 3 it is slightly more, so if you want film high in the air and especially If you want to film mountains, for example, the DJI air 3 is more recommended.
I like using the mini 4 Pro for smaller spaces and risky areas but find The Air 3 ideal for larger scenery, so much easier to fly, to control, get better performance, and always manage to get the shot I want on the air 3 compared to the mini 4 Pro.
I totally agree. I bought the mini 3 pro first. Then the Mav 3 classic for the hasselblad. Love it, but the Air 3 is always with me. Flying my new Avata 2, but my Air 3 is always with me and the 70mm is the bomb. Changes average shots to Cinematic. If they had offered the 70mm with the Classic, I would have not bought the Air 3. I even bought a Specta Air first, but couldn't get spare batteries through a vendor .So, back to Amazon and ordered the Air 3 . So, stable and with the split ND filters, wow.

Why does every reviewer get this wrong? The vertical video doesn't crop in on the 16:9 video. This is a PHOTO sensor in this drone, so the native aspect ratio is 4:3. So the vertical video is cropping in on the 4:3 sensor. The 4:3 image is quite a bit taller than the 16:9 image. So when you do vertical video mode, there's more to be seen ABOVE and BELOW the 16:9 image. It's probably a good 35% taller image than the 16:9 crop. Sure, it's not as good as being able to rotate the camera/sensor, but it's not as bad as cropping in on the 16:9 image either.
Vertical video is trash anyway, which does not need even the resolution of the cropped mode. The dolts on TikTok are gobbling up 5x-recompressed sub-SD garbage, so I wouldn't worry about meeting their "standards."
I agree with you wholeheartedly mate, the neo is great for a starting point and a fun little thing but yeah a pro version slightly larger but still hand launchable and all the control options and larger sensor would be killer. I would buy that instantly.

Great job as usual, something I've heard, if you use one remote for multiple drones your DJI care refresh won't protect you, unless it's used with the original drone. Bought the air 3 in December mostly because of the lense and power so I agree with all the positives you mentioned, but I also have the mini 3 pro, and to be honest I fly the mini 3 more, it just smaller attracts less attention, the extended batteries give me 30 minutes even in the cold, and for me for close flights in not bad in the wind, and all those extra features the air 3 has I hardly use them, and if I crash the mini its not as expensive. But if I had to choose one it has to be the Air 3
The A3 is hands down the best drone I have ever owned! And I'm seriously glad I took out care refresh with DJI. As I had an accident on Sunday. It started to rain out of the blue. And I brought it back to me as fast as possible in sports mode. Turned away from a tree behind me and it hit it at around 10mph. Nose dived into the grass and completely snapped the gimble! I paid the holding fee. Replacement sent from the Netherlands yesterday. Received this afternoon. Just a heads up for anyone. If you wish to use the premium refresh. They charge a holding fee of nearly £500 which they refund once your broken unit is received and checked.

Cheers Darren, Comprehensive review as usual. I'm fortunate to be able to own both the M4Pro and an Air3 atm and this combination offers me greater flexibility where I live in Sydney, as there are so many aerodromes and heliports with 3NM intersecting authorisation zones above 250gm! That said, I've never felt as comfortable or confident flying as I now do with the Air3. It's a great experience that enables me to concentrate more on the photography /videography than the flight performance, whilst achieving great quality captures.
I plan to get the Air 3S for general use, Mini 5 Pro once it comes out as a backup/flying over people drone, and the next Mavic Pro eventually for more serious commercial work. Hopefully the DJI ban won’t go through in the US.

Got mine in February and I absolutely love it. My take on this is with no concrete release date yet it would be September at the earliest before a new Air would be available. Possibly not til November. So obviously you would miss the rest of the summer you could be flying. If you don’t mind the wait, wait.

Mini 4 pro makes for a great inside companion for the Air3 for instance if your in somewhere with high ceilings or want to do a from indoor to outdoor vid

Most of the Air 3 owners including @dmproductions will be selling their Air 3 for the Air3s guaranteed because of the new quad color pad and backlit 1 inch sensor as well as the new 1 over 1/3 sensor(70mm). The lidar capabilities will be welcomed for sure and best of all batteries will be compatible 👍🏽 May I also say that the Air2s is still a solid drone that shoots in 5.4K , 20mb raw, etc. Also the price is fantastic compared to the “newer” more shiny drones. Pretty soon the Mavic 3 line will be a great drone to get used as well compared to the newer Mavic 4 which is coming out very soon. So it’s great news for people who want to get into the space with the Air2s as well as the mavic 3 coming down in prices 👍🏽
Isn't the 3s news ment to be released on 15th of this month? Looking at upgrading from the mini 2 and was looking at the air 3 but happy to wait and see what the air 3s has to offer and costs

Hey just saying The sensor is actually an upgrade, because the Air 3 uses Quad Bayer Sensor Technology, which basically means that it combines four adjacent pixels into one larger “super-pixel.”When compared to the Air 2S, which has a traditional single Bayer sensor, it doesn’t offer the same quality. This means that the air 3 has actually much better quality than the previous generation.
I have a dillema now, should I go with Air 3, Mavic 3 Classic (those Hasselblad colors...) or wait for the Air 3S, hoping that they will upgrade the camera or change It to 1inch sensors?
So I'm German but moved to Japan like over 1 1/2 years ago and got into drones here, which is insane with the amount of open and hidden rules and hoops you have to jump through to be able to take off even in secluded mountains or forests. I got a mini 3 pro spring last year but didn't use it until this year July because of getting crazy demotivated and anxious of using it with all the complicated stuff here. Now I got more into it and think of getting Air3S later on. How are rules in Europe now? Also how much is the license? While you don't need one in Japan, removing some restrictions, making people more at ease and therefore allow you or for business it is recommended or even required and costs at the first level maybe 1.600 in euro not entirely sure but like almost half a driver license? Theory study and test (80pages pdf I got over a school provided by government) practice test and a physical exam. It's like a drivers license.
DJI hit it out of the park with the 70mm equivalent 3x camera, both here on Air 3, and in my Mavic 3 Pro. To be fair, I fly the Air 3 more. a) its somewhat compact, compared to the Mavic 3 Pro Beast. b) Mostly its that EVERY mode, every parameter, D-Log-M, and every autonomous mode, quickshots/MasterShots, Panos, Waypoint Modes are available on both cameras (plus you can use the 3x-7x 70mm in waypoints controlling all that zoom for some fabulous Dolly Zooms. Mavic 3 Pro does have the 166mm Equivalent, and now does POI and Spotlight zoomed out miles, but it seems more like 3 seperate cameras all put on a drone. Air 3 is an ENGINEERED PAIR of cameras working together. Sure theres no Hassblad killer camera, but thats the only huge plus to the Flagship Drone. Love my Air 3, Mini 4 Pro and Mavic 3. Moght grab a Neo when it releases or an Avata 2, but Im very happy with whats in my gear chest!
@@DMProductions thank you, I’ve had mixed advice about this, I have read the new rules state only commercial flights need prior authorisation in the open category and some people have said all flights still do. I have an EASA certificate though.
Air 3 won all the aspects that the pilot needed in hobby or for professional works~ dual lenses, light weight, medium size (not too big not too small, just fit anyone's back pack), affordable price, containing all pro features from Mavic 3 pro and equipped the O4 system, far ahead to the Mavic 3 series~ If you ask me which drone I recommend in between both Air 3 or Mini 4, no doubt I'll strong recommend Air 3 to a beginner, its worth to invested it~ you'll never regret to have one~
Laws and nerdy tech info aside for a moment.. will flying the bigger Air3 around or over people be a lot more intimidating by the noise and size and cause people to call the police rather than flying the mini 4pro? And i don't mean anything crazy. Living in FLORIDA in the US flying respectively at a distance and height. But still.. people can call the cops being scared. I'm highly considering buying either the air 3 or the mini4pro. But leaning towards the air because of the 3x optical zoom I can use at night in the city instead of having to fly closer with the mini. If anyone had the experience of flying both a mini and the air let me know.
DJI air 3 is SOOO much better as it goes and extra 30kmh and it has a longer battery life allowing you to fly more, I won’t worry about the size as it’s almost the same plus it only $500 extra than the mini. The extra flying speed lets me go to other towns like 15km away with no problem
Hi Darren. Really great as always. That's why I've been a follower for years. No new to drones been doing it for 10 years now. I have 2 Minis and really that's enough for me. The total pkg. for the MINI-3 Pro. is what I feel I need.( I'm no color grader at all). I'm using Wondershare Filmora 13 that is kept up to date as I have the Lifetime I bought years ago and get every thing free automatically. I don't see it on the compatible editor list Like final cut etc. Please advise Darren. I'm waiting for the 3S.

Sold my mini 3 a while ago didn't think I wanted a drone anymore. Air 3 currently on order lol. But yeah the wind and battery life sucked with the mini 3. Felt like I couldn't fly anywhere far
Hey Darren. Was that a clip of a P&O cruise in Norway or something? Wondered because I just went on one of their Med cruises and had to leave the drone at home, because they say they confiscate them for the duration of the cruise. What was your experience?

Good video. Is it possible somebody in the comments can help me I have DJI mini 4 pro. I’ve got the Internet connected and the controller are both connected but I can’t activate it. It just says error dash 02 whatever that is it says you may need DGI service well that’s somewhat of a joke. please help if you can. I’m sure there’s some sitting on my computer or my Internet or something.
At 4:56-6:02 I completely disagree with nd filters because while it makes the video look cinematic and it lowers the shutter speed, its really not nessesary and it doesn’t make a huge difference and too me the only reason why you should really need a nd filter is when you get close to a subject and that’s where you will see motion blur and the subject let’s say a car will look more focused. So thats the only reason why anybody should really need the nd filters and the tip is if the quality of the video is not natural, just lower the EV exposure or the shutter speed and that will make the quality of the drone video still look good. But with that said it’s still a good video about a year later that the Air 3 came out. 🤔🙂
I have a DJI AIR 3 and I like it. But for some reason when I'm kayaking and using Active Track Auto it loses me after about 4-5 minutes. (and this is on open water such as a lake or sea where it is quite easy to track) . If anyone knows what the reason for this , please tell me.. Otherwise, this drone is simply magnificent.

As far as ND filters go, the DJI ones are overpriced for the Air 3. Best bang for your buck is the Freewell version which has a darker/lighter combo for the different f stop values of the two different lenses.
Definitely was in consideration..until the leaks of the next model..the DJI Air 3S..lol and will wait for that one instead hopefully in the next month or so for an announcement..lol
how a type 1 sensor with a 2.4-pixel size and F2.8 aperture is better than a 1/1.3 sensor with the same 2.4-pixel size and F1.7 aperture at 4k resolution? and 70mm lens is not a gimmick at all.
It's not so much that it's because it's DIFFERENT in every way. It has a lot of similar features/hardware, and does similar things. However, even though you can do a lot of what you can on the Air 3 with the M4P, the Air 3 simply just does all the same stuff BETTER. Same sensor, but now it zooms. Same transmission system, but more antennas. Better battery life. Better wind resistance. Better maneauverability/performance. More stable. Better build. It basically just does all the same stuff as the mini, but just straight up better at it. You can get similar battery wirh the mini, but you have to buy all new batteries, the Air 3 just comes with it. The Air 3 isn't THAT much bigger either. I mean, yeah maybe like 1.5x the size, but both are still small. The Mavic isn't that big either, but big enough that it can be a concern when packing limited space a bit. Also, no tools needed for prop changes on the Air. The mini needs a screwdriver. The biggest thing is price. I paid $1,240 for my Air 3 FMC/RC2 bundle. The similar mini 4 bundle with good batteries is $1,160. Only $80 difference on $1000+ overall cost. That's nothing. It would be silly to buy the mini over the air, when you can get a straight up better drone for around the same amount. Now, if the M4P was like $999 for that bundle, I'd recommend it all day. It wouldn't be competing with the Air 3 in price, so it would totally fill a nice role at that price point. Someone wanting their first drone, or a backup/travel drone, and they want decent specs at a great value. There would be no argue about m4p vs Air 3, because they'd both have their own place they stand. I also think the Mavic pro seems silly as well. 2x the price of the Air 3, and it's not even better, just different. The Air 3 does 90% of the same stuff equal or better. The Mavic pro should really be like $1600-$1850 for the combo. I think a lot of the price is just paying for the hasselblad name, TBH. Compared to the Air 3 price/performance, the Mavic just isn't worth the asking price. Then again, maybe the mini and Mavic aren't overpriced... perhaps the Air 3 is just UNDER priced. Honestly, it does feel like getting away with something when you pay like $1,250 for the Air, and see everything you get for that price. It's kinda wild.

@@brennanIXI actually fly Air 3 more than Mavic 3 Pro. Mavic 3 Pro seems more like a mixed selection of Cameras, although the Hasselblad Micro 4/3rds steps everything up. You didn't mention that you can switch to the 70mm equivalent 3x-7x camera in Waypoint missions, and finely control all that zoom during missions, getting phenomenal Dolly Zooms. I’m going to Iceland. I already have a mini 3 pro and thinking of getting either the mavic 3 pro or the air 3. Mini 3 pro for city use and a larger one for open areas. Which one would you pick if you could only have one of the larger UAVs (in addition to having a mini one)?
@@bluezorro999 both the mavic 3 pro and the air 3 have the same wind resistance on paper (12m/s). Does the extra weight of the pro make a big difference?
After upgrading to the Air3 and flying for the 1st time yesterday in the wild…I was nervous 😬 but WOW!!! What a drone, that 3x tele is amazing and the battery life alone is worth the $$. Last I would say that connection with O4 is badass…in the mini3 pro I would have lost signal flying in the forest…but this this was rock solid!!! Happy with my purchase! 🤜 couldn’t agree more!

I love my Air 3. At first, I felt like I should've got the Mini 4 Pro, but after a few flights, the performance is perfect for my needs and wants!!!

So the vertical video is cropping in on the 4:3 sensor. The 4:3 image is quite a bit taller than the 16:9 image. So when you do vertical video mode, there's more to be seen ABOVE and BELOW the 16:9 image. It's probably a good 35% taller image than the 16:9 crop. Sure, it's not as good as being able to rotate the camera/sensor, but it's not as bad as cropping in on the 16:9 image either.
Vertical video is trash anyway, which does not need even the resolution of the cropped mode. The dolts on TikTok are gobbling up 5x-recompressed sub-SD garbage, so I wouldn't worry about meeting their "standards."

I agree with you wholeheartedly mate, the neo is great for a starting point and a fun little thing but yeah a pro version slightly larger but still hand launchable and all the control options and larger sensor would be killer. I would buy that instantly.

Great job as usual, something I've heard, if you use one remote for multiple drones your DJI care refresh won't protect you, unless it's used with the original drone. Bought the air 3 in December mostly because of the lense and power so I agree with all the positives you mentioned, but I also have the mini 3 pro, and to be honest I fly the mini 3 more, it just smaller attracts less attention, the extended batteries give me 30 minutes even in the cold, and for me for close flights in not bad in the wind, and all those extra features the air 3 has I hardly use them, and if I crash the mini its not as expensive. But if I had to choose one it has to be the Air 3

The A3 is hands down the best drone I have ever owned! And I'm seriously glad I took out care refresh with DJI. As I had an accident on Sunday. It started to rain out of the blue. And I brought it back to me as fast as possible in sports mode. Turned away from a tree behind me and it hit it at around 10mph. Nose dived into the grass and completely snapped the gimble! I paid the holding fee. Replacement sent from the Netherlands yesterday. Received this afternoon. Just a heads up for anyone. If you wish to use the premium refresh. They charge a holding fee of nearly £500 which they refund once your broken unit is received and checked.

Cheers Darren, Comprehensive review as usual. I'm fortunate to be able to own both the M4Pro and an Air3 atm and this combination offers me greater flexibility where I live in Sydney, as there are so many aerodromes and heliports with 3NM intersecting authorisation zones above 250gm! That said, I've never felt as comfortable or confident flying as I now do with the Air3. It's a great experience that enables me to concentrate more on the photography /videography than the flight performance, whilst achieving great quality captures.

I plan to get the Air 3S for general use, Mini 5 Pro once it comes out as a backup/flying over people drone, and the next Mavic Pro eventually for more serious commercial work. Hopefully the DJI ban won’t go through in the US.

Got mine in February and I absolutely love it. My take on this is with no concrete release date yet it would be September at the earliest before a new Air would be available. Possibly not til November. So obviously you would miss the rest of the summer you could be flying. If you don’t mind the wait, wait.

Mini 4 pro makes for a great inside companion for the Air3 for instance if your in somewhere with high ceilings or want to do a from indoor to outdoor vid

Most of the Air 3 owners including @dmproductions will be selling their Air 3 for the Air3s guaranteed because of the new quad color pad and backlit 1 inch sensor as well as the new 1 over 1/3 sensor(70mm). The lidar capabilities will be welcomed for sure and best of all batteries will be compatible 👍🏽
May I also say that the Air2s is still a solid drone that shoots in 5.4K , 20mb raw, etc. Also the price is fantastic compared to the “newer” more shiny drones.
Pretty soon the Mavic 3 line will be a great drone to get used as well compared to the newer Mavic 4 which is coming out very soon.
So it’s great news for people who want to get into the space with the Air2s as well as the mavic 3 coming down in prices 👍🏽

It’s a lot better than the mini 3 pro but you do have a very good combo with the avata 2 so I think selling both you’d miss that fpv flying

Hey just saying The sensor is actually an upgrade, because the Air 3 uses Quad Bayer Sensor Technology, which basically means that it combines four adjacent pixels into one larger “super-pixel.”When compared to the Air 2S, which has a traditional single Bayer sensor, it doesn’t offer the same quality. This means that the air 3 has actually much better quality than the previous generation.
Love my air 3. I’ve got about 5 other drones (all dji ) and the only other one I fly as much is the avata 2.
I have a dillema now, should I go with Air 3, Mavic 3 Classic (those Hasselblad colors...) or wait for the Air 3S, hoping that they will upgrade the camera or change It to 1inch sensors?

So I'm German but moved to Japan like over 1 1/2 years ago and got into drones here, which is insane with the amount of open and hidden rules and hoops you have to jump through to be able to take off even in secluded mountains or forests. I got a mini 3 pro spring last year but didn't use it until this year July because of getting crazy demotivated and anxious of using it with all the complicated stuff here. Now I got more into it and think of getting Air3S later on.
How are rules in Europe now? Also how much is the license?
While you don't need one in Japan, removing some restrictions, making people more at ease and therefore allow you or for business it is recommended or even required and costs at the first level maybe 1.600 in euro not entirely sure but like almost half a driver license? Theory study and test (80pages pdf I got over a school provided by government) practice test and a physical exam. It's like a drivers license.
Still buy it? Isn’t there one coming out in like a month

ye in October/November they say. this air3 is basically a min 4 but with a 70mm extra cam. i never got it as i want the 3s and finally it's coming
DJI hit it out of the park with the 70mm equivalent 3x camera, both here on Air 3, and in my Mavic 3 Pro. To be fair, I fly the Air 3 more. a) its somewhat compact, compared to the Mavic 3 Pro Beast.
b) Mostly its that EVERY mode, every parameter, D-Log-M, and every autonomous mode, quickshots/MasterShots, Panos, Waypoint Modes are available on both cameras (plus you can use the 3x-7x 70mm in waypoints controlling all that zoom for some fabulous Dolly Zooms. Mavic 3 Pro does have the 166mm Equivalent, and now does POI and Spotlight zoomed out miles, but it seems more like 3 seperate cameras all put on a drone. Air 3 is an ENGINEERED PAIR of cameras working together. Sure theres no Hassblad killer camera, but thats the only huge plus to the Flagship Drone. Love my Air 3, Mini 4 Pro and Mavic 3. Moght grab a Neo when it releases or an Avata 2, but Im very happy with whats in my gear chest!

@@DMProductions thank you, I’ve had mixed advice about this, I have read the new rules state only commercial flights need prior authorisation in the open category and some people have said all flights still do. I have an EASA certificate though.
Air 3 won all the aspects that the pilot needed in hobby or for professional works~ dual lenses, light weight, medium size (not too big not too small, just fit anyone's back pack), affordable price, containing all pro features from Mavic 3 pro and equipped the O4 system, far ahead to the Mavic 3 series~ If you ask me which drone I recommend in between both Air 3 or Mini 4, no doubt I'll strong recommend Air 3 to a beginner, its worth to invested it~ you'll never regret to have one~

Laws and nerdy tech info aside for a moment.. will flying the bigger Air3 around or over people be a lot more intimidating by the noise and size and cause people to call the police rather than flying the mini 4pro?
And i don't mean anything crazy. Living in FLORIDA in the US flying respectively at a distance and height. But still.. people can call the cops being scared.
I'm highly considering buying either the air 3 or the mini4pro. But leaning towards the air because of the 3x optical zoom I can use at night in the city instead of having to fly closer with the mini.
If anyone had the experience of flying both a mini and the air let me know.

It's a way better drone.
DJI air 3 is SOOO much better as it goes and extra 30kmh and it has a longer battery life allowing you to fly more, I won’t worry about the size as it’s almost the same plus it only $500 extra than the mini. The extra flying speed lets me go to other towns like 15km away with no problem
Hi Darren. Really great as always. That's why I've been a follower for years. No new to drones been doing it for 10 years now. I have 2 Minis and really that's enough for me. The total pkg. for the MINI-3 Pro. is what I feel I need.( I'm no color grader at all). I'm using Wondershare Filmora 13 that is kept up to date as I have the Lifetime I bought years ago and get every thing free automatically. I don't see it on the compatible editor list Like final cut etc. Please advise Darren. I'm waiting for the 3S.

Sold my mini 3 a while ago didn't think I wanted a drone anymore. Air 3 currently on order lol. But yeah the wind and battery life sucked with the mini 3. Felt like I couldn't fly anywhere far

At 4:56-6:02 I completely disagree with nd filters because while it makes the video look cinematic and it lowers the shutter speed, its really not nessesary and it doesn’t make a huge difference and too me the only reason why you should really need a nd filter is when you get close to a subject and that’s where you will see motion blur and the subject let’s say a car will look more focused. So thats the only reason why anybody should really need the nd filters and the tip is if the quality of the video is not natural, just lower the EV exposure or the shutter speed and that will make the quality of the drone video still look good. But with that said it’s still a good video about a year later that the Air 3 came out. 🤔🙂

I have a DJI AIR 3 and I like it. But for some reason when I'm kayaking and using Active Track Auto it loses me after about 4-5 minutes. (and this is on open water such as a lake or sea where it is quite easy to track) . If anyone knows what the reason for this , please tell me.. Otherwise, this drone is simply magnificent.
Its a known problem. Its caused by the water. Maybe the reflections.

As far as ND filters go, the DJI ones are overpriced for the Air 3. Best bang for your buck is the Freewell version which has a darker/lighter combo for the different f stop values of the two different lenses.
Definitely was in consideration..until the leaks of the next model..the DJI Air 3S..lol and will wait for that one instead hopefully in the next month or so for an announcement..lol

how a type 1 sensor with a 2.4-pixel size and F2.8 aperture is better than a 1/1.3 sensor with the same 2.4-pixel size and F1.7 aperture at 4k resolution? and 70mm lens is not a gimmick at all.

no it aint. same sensors. it's a mini 4 but with an extra 70mm cam added on and that's it. the 3s is the one you want.
In what ways is it 'miles ahead'? Does its use automatically result in better content than the Mini4?
It's not so much that it's because it's DIFFERENT in every way. It has a lot of similar features/hardware, and does similar things. However, even though you can do a lot of what you can on the Air 3 with the M4P, the Air 3 simply just does all the same stuff BETTER. Same sensor, but now it zooms. Same transmission system, but more antennas. Better battery life. Better wind resistance. Better maneauverability/performance. More stable. Better build. It basically just does all the same stuff as the mini, but just straight up better at it.
You can get similar battery wirh the mini, but you have to buy all new batteries, the Air 3 just comes with it. The Air 3 isn't THAT much bigger either. I mean, yeah maybe like 1.5x the size, but both are still small. The Mavic isn't that big either, but big enough that it can be a concern when packing limited space a bit. Also, no tools needed for prop changes on the Air. The mini needs a screwdriver.
The biggest thing is price. I paid $1,240 for my Air 3 FMC/RC2 bundle. The similar mini 4 bundle with good batteries is $1,160. Only $80 difference on $1000+ overall cost. That's nothing. It would be silly to buy the mini over the air, when you can get a straight up better drone for around the same amount. Now, if the M4P was like $999 for that bundle, I'd recommend it all day. It wouldn't be competing with the Air 3 in price, so it would totally fill a nice role at that price point. Someone wanting their first drone, or a backup/travel drone, and they want decent specs at a great value. There would be no argue about m4p vs Air 3, because they'd both have their own place they stand. I also think the Mavic pro seems silly as well. 2x the price of the Air 3, and it's not even better, just different. The Air 3 does 90% of the same stuff equal or better. The Mavic pro should really be like $1600-$1850 for the combo. I think a lot of the price is just paying for the hasselblad name, TBH. Compared to the Air 3 price/performance, the Mavic just isn't worth the asking price. Then again, maybe the mini and Mavic aren't overpriced... perhaps the Air 3 is just UNDER priced. Honestly, it does feel like getting away with something when you pay like $1,250 for the Air, and see everything you get for that price. It's kinda wild.

I’m going to Iceland. I already have a mini 3 pro and thinking of getting either the mavic 3 pro or the air 3. Mini 3 pro for city use and a larger one for open areas. Which one would you pick if you could only have one of the larger UAVs (in addition to having a mini one)?
If you're buying a drone for Iceland - go for the Mavic 3 Pro. Iceland is seriously windy (I've been 4 times). The Pro will be better in the wind.

After upgrading to the Air3 and flying for the 1st time yesterday in the wild…I was nervous 😬 but WOW!!! What a drone, that 3x tele is amazing and the battery life alone is worth the $$. Last I would say that connection with O4 is badass…in the mini3 pro I would have lost signal flying in the forest…but this this was rock solid!!! Happy with my purchase! 🤜 couldn’t agree more!
