I'm surprised they didn't discuss the domino scene. Took 200 hours and four professional domino assemblers to set it up
if the movie was made by disney nowaday, they would CGI it
:)...Thanks for the info...I loved that part...The movie is such a masterpiece..

it's so easy to fall in love with V. thank you for bringing him to life so beautifully.
Indeed! I fell in love with him too. 💙💙💙
I haven't got over him
Agreed! All these years later I'm still in love. The movie was so poignoint and nailed it - a story of a man we will never forget
Hugo Weaving being V is at the same time totally unexpected but also to me a perfect fit
Hugo Weaving should tell Pedro Pascal that we don't really need to see his face, we love him all the same.
This is the way
Most actors can't control their ego enough. Take note, Pedro Pascal! I feel sorry for David Prowse not getting a chance at acting with the mask off in _Return of the Jedi_ since they went that route. (If he had jumped down the shaft with the Emperor that would have worked too.) And I have contempt for _The Fantastic Four_ movies not putting Doctor Doom in a mask.
This movie is extremely underrated, brilliant cinema presenting timeless political ideals
One of my favorite movie, excellent writing!
Excatly.
Yes yes yes
@Alejandro it was an awful adaptation and he completely dissociated from it, he's not credited for anything, if you see read the comic book you'd see why, I personally agree with him. He didn't even watch the film, he read the screenplay and knew no amount of visual gimmicks can make it better
@@arthursurname Let’s just be clear,
the idea of declaring something an “awful adaptation” without even watching it, is a pretty dumb thing to announce. You saying you “personally agree with him” on his disdain for art he’s never seen is kinda weird.
This is one of the greatest movies ever made. Portman deserved an Oscar. Criminally under rated
The more I watch, the more I love this movie...
I have the same sentiment.
"Are you like a crazy person?"
-"No, but I'm quite sure they will say so."
"He is all of us." I'll never forget that day or the man and what he meant to me."
as far as i know, the line was "No one will forget the night, and what it meant for this country. But I'll never forget the man and what he meant to me."
This movie was a quote machine. You can literally quote any line from this movie and still make sense.
Probably one of the best films I have ever seen. Incredibly thought provoking. Brilliant actors portraying very powerful characters. No Science fiction . . Just a dark reality with a glimmer of hope.
This movie will be a timeless classic for a long as we have cinemas. Although it was made long ago, with the way things are currently here in the US, it's message never seemed as important as it does now. The fear that the government and the mainstream media push every day is insane. "People shouldn't be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of its people!"
We're coming out of the madness of the international far-right movement of 2016. But we could still slip back into it.
That quote and the way V lives, his morals, etc. are all conservative in nature but in the movie and the actors themselves in this video say that the government in this movie is conservative. Pay attention to the brainwashing.
@@sandal_thong8631 Complete BS. The left is destroying this Country, the right wants freedom from the very tyranny the left espouses. Wake up
This is one of my favourite movie. Rare are movie like this these days.
Amen.. All mindnumbing fluff pieces..
This movie script is the narrative of our current reality. I've been expecting it for 10 years.
We're past the worst of the far-right international movement, for now, but should have had more enlightened people in 2016 to prevent four years of madness. Though it wasn't V but the "Chancellor's" followers who nearly gave us our own Guy Fawkes on January 6.
100% correct! sadly it is..
Hugo did an awesome job in this. Wow
Hugo deserved an Oscar for this, and the Oscar went to the Joker actor decade later who followed Hugo.
"Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask."

1:02 Not gonna lie, hearing this in the COVID aftermaths kinda sends chills down my spine.
Because it is
An absolute masterpiece with an excellent cast!
Remember Remember. The Fifth of November. Timeless
"It was a comic book - with a super hero!"
That's like one the most noteworthy thing about it.. That it wasn't.. It was a comic book without a super hero..
To warner bros, the producers, editors, actors, and all the crew for V for Vendetta.
I don't expect this to go noticed, nevertheless I'll still write this to tell how much a movie could be my one salvation in reality.
For years I've had a picture of V inside my mind, I remember I ever watched it when I was little but never knew the title.
For years I let it linger idly inside my mind, never thought of looking into it deeper.
My childhood might not be a beautiful story. Moreover, the more I aged, my life isn't getting any better.
Confined, tied, without any freedom to choose my own path. Words of indignities, physical and mental pain, depression, has been directed to me, worse since 2018.
People with their demands to be normal, people with their mouth saying it's all just in my head, people who only want to know my story, not listen to my story, as if my mental disorder isn't something validated or, important.
2 months ago, quietly I searched for movie lists to watch since movie is one of my channel for imagination and, my escape route from reality.
Little did I know, I'd be reunited with the movie I've been longing for, for years.
Since 2 months ago, for a day when my parents aren't home, I'd watch it at the very least, once a day. Twice if time allows.
I'd remember the monologue, I'd remember the scenes.
Each day becomes a day I anticipated, and everyday I'd find a sense of freedom through this movie - V who doesn't even fear for death, and live his life fulfilling his purpose, guy fawkes' idea, and his vengeance -
Whilst not forgetting what made him live without fear before he wear the mask and conceal himself, which is a man, who was once full of travails, deeply wounded, physically and mentally.
Until now, I've never had such thought that a movie could bring me such sense of freedom when I'm only sitting on the sofa.
A movie with a figure that would always cross my mind during the worst of my times, reminding me to fight and held my head high.
Thank you, for producing the movie, V for Vendetta. Many might find what I just stated uncanny, but nevertheless, V for Vendetta has been my addiction.
This is a real life movie..exactly what is happening now..
This video couldn't have been released on a better day.
even with that mask, people recognize Hugo's voice...he has nice theatrical sounding voice👍
(2:45) V is a cultured man. My mentor and aspiration! He is all of us.
Needless to say that it's likely the best movie I've seen but while seeing this clip one thing I still can't accept is V acted in the movie is Hugo Weaving!
One of the greatest if not the greatest comic book style film. And the last couple of years has bought it home even more !
Brazil has now thrown off their "Chancellor," and it's been a couple years since we've done the same. I think Britain, Hungary and others still need to do the same.
Did everyone wear their "V" costume to the polls today? For 2020: "Remember, remember, the 3rd of November..." ;-)

This is a classic, was enthralled from start to finish. It is a very profound film that wove a comic book story with deep themes of politics, authoritarianism, etc. that was uncommon at the time, and paved the way for other movies adapted from comics like Watchmen and Black Panther.
watching this in 2024 is still and will always be a masterpiece that has a special place in my heart
What a fantastic movie. I've only just seen this movie after all this time & it has really impacted me wow I wished I'd seen it earlier.
Fantastic acting by all 👍
The greatest movie and Comic of all time, I watched it Like 10 times. Everytime I watch it, I notice a new things
Imagine if Batman had political ideologies of his own, thats pretty much V.
And that Batman grew a set and extinguished corrupt individuals instead of throwing them back into a broken system to once again be released and reinstalled.
V and Batman r my fav Super Heroes....and Superman is no longer America's best. He is now a citizen of the world. 🤒🤢🤮🤧😷
What a coincidence. I just watched this movie yesterday! Amazing movie.
There are no coincidences...merely the illusion of coincidence.
A friend mentioned the movie on November 5 this year. I started watching it and knew nothing about the 5th of November. Over the top coincidence.
Hands down my fav super hero movie.
Great film; classic with a great cast and aesthetic.
Bro, I wanna learn how to spin daggers like that...
Practice
Just finished a long overdue 3rd viewing of this masterpiece...I saw this movie in 05 and loved it's message. I knew nothing of Alan Moore or Guy Fawkes...In 05 The internet exploded with DSL making its way into the homes of selected areas...2005 was the year it made it into Philadelphia and I began my journey of discovery of who we are, who the government is, our uncensored history. Despite being a USAF veteran from the Reagan era, I was still very ignorant of that information...
I just finished watching V. It is probably the 4th time since its first showing. I have since used the last, nearly, 2 decades to learn. I share a birthday with Mr. Fawkes (april 13) as well, we two share our birthdays with Thomas Jefferson. For some reason, being born on that date, stirs a certain wont for justice and freedom.
V for vendetta is a stirring masterpiece...Its message should be viewed and understood by all. Much has changed in our lives and it's very parallel to what Alan Moore and David Lloyd created all so many years ago.
The part where Evey loses her fear is so touching and beautifully done by Natalie. Her discovery that the letter was real made it even more poignant. Then I remember first seeing the citizenry in their mask...What a stirring image...If only..~sigh~
Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici.
Veritas Vos Liberabit.
Truth is stranger then fiction. Your living it!
I'm kinda sad, that the Vi veri veniversum vivus vici scene didn't make it into the movie. It sent shivers down my spine. Not only that he mentions the pact between Dr. Faust and the devil, but he gives Evey a hint, that she's going to have a pact with the devil as well. Which she doesn't understand. In this early stage he already admits that he is not (only) a hero, a shining dark knight and a freedom fighter, but also a selfish villain with an evil agenda.
Isn't that the scene with Evey wiping the words on the mirror to read them? Because I thought that was in the movie
One of favorite movie, in the top 5 for sure. That’s why I love watchdogs legion
Masterpiece 🔥🔥
V Is in my top 5. Bought it, own it, and watch it at least twice a year. Sure wish we had a V to set America straight again. ❤
A brilliant film.
The movie stimulates a revolution of ideologies... It's a hint of freedom to citizens of countries where citizens are subdued by their government
Nothing could be more truer to the function of this story than it is today.
Hugo Weaving achieved a feat that few actors would have been able to do: with just his voice, physicality and presence he gave soul and expression to a plain white mask. It takes more than skill to achieve something like this. The presence of an exceptional cast where each actor seems to have been created for the character helped him but remains the center of the film's beauty.
It's "just" a movie based on a comic book, but it left a bigger mark than it seems.
Remember, remember, the 5th of November... The gunpowder treason and plot.... I know of no reason, why the gunpowder treason, should ever be forgot.

Best freaking movie i love it!!!
A movie worth watching multiple times. I was going back to movies of 1986-1990 and each year there were 25+ or 30+ worth watching and maybe 6 worth watching more than once. In 1985 there were fewer movies worth watching, but a dozen worth watching more than once!

I have often said this movie is a British classic, it’s everything but. It’s a collaboration of actors and directors from all over the world . But still a fantastic movie , a true classic should I say.

It's both ironic and revolting to hear Ms Portman describe this horrible futuristic state, her face full of horror, while that is the society we actually live in.
We and Brazil are coming out of the Dark Times, while those out of power want to tear down our respective institutions and stage comebacks while escaping justice.

Feels like 2020 in real life...
We made it out of the 2017-2020 dark times, though we almost got our own Guy Fawkes in the form of "The Chancellor's" followers on Jan 6.

V for vendetta is like a alternate version of Edward Snowden vs US government's spying+control, set in Britain instead
But he's not trying to publish _The Pentagon Papers_ or revealing U.S. or U.K. torture centers; he expects the public to already know or not care. "If the crimes of this government are unknown to you...."
Great movie, love it!

His torture of Evey is thoroughly monstrous and hypocritical. It’s hard to believe that she could “forgive” him for that.
He'd offered her sanctuary/captivity for a year, but her only thought was fear and the need to escape him. As they said, she was afraid all the time. That's what Jews said it was like during the years of the pogroms, ghettos and Holocaust. Once she was away from him, she realized she was no longer afraid, and that he'd changed her.
Fear of being uncomfortable keeps us locked in our tiny boxes. He took her fear away and gave her freedom.
The count isn't done... Keep those "V" costumes ready...

Um brilhante filme..muito bom..
Natalie Portman’s English accent was excellent in this movie.
"The book was a serialized story about the relationship between anarchy and fascism. It was a reaction to the Reagan-Thatcher era. That movie lost all of the quality of the tale. It was made as a Bush era parable, a liberal ideal that took out the context of what I was trying to point out." - ALAN MOORE
I agree with his statement because the movie had a moving concept but ultimately was pretty surface level.
It still seems about anarchy vs fascism, but in the end V realizes that he's wrong. He's done what he can, but it's up to _different_ people to make the future. Simply destroying the government is not enough. In fact that's part of fascism or fascist tactics: to destroy institutions that the people rely on, which might conflict with the agenda of the "Supreme Chancellor." So the people intend to take back their government, first by watching the parliament building get destroyed, which no longer represents them. The next day? In the "everything's connected" feeling by Finch, a shot shows him living with Evey Hammond!
Alan Moore is just another in a line of authors who don't like movie (or TV) adaptations of their work, but don't have the talent to use sound and images in that media to put forth a story with an idea the viewers can get and be satisfied with.
It’s funny how right the movie got the future predicted right. They just got the source of the oppression backwards.
I have a Cara Dune actionfigure in my possesion - I consider it somewhat of the centerpiece of my own shadow gallery.
