I just bought this car a week ago and already have 1200 miles on it, I can’t quit driving it on curvy roads. If you’re looking for a fun car this is it! I enjoyed your review.
Great review Tish. I recently bought a new 2022 i30N with a manual gearbox. I live by myself and I am nearly always in the car by myself so I can be a juvenile with exhaust pops and bangs and traction control off as I like. It genuinely makes me grin, its so much fun!
Another great review Tish! the Kona N is an interesting beast to say the least. I can really tell you like the red button on the steering wheel. I think the only thing that might put me off this car is the boot space, I rarely carry anyone in the back so space back there is less likely to be a deal killer. I'll add this to my growing list of cars to test when it's time to change.
I’ve been looking at a few different reviews of this as I was/am considering it as a new daily. This has given me more insight and more to consider than any other video I’ve seen so far. Good work and thank you, you’re informative and very natural in front of camera
Nice review Tish. I’ve got one of these for a week very soon, and I’m keen to see how it compares to the i30N I drove recently. Interestingly, the Kona N is cheaper here in Australia than it is in the uk.
Nice review tish looking good like always The car looks cool love the button for more power But did they name it after corona haha sorry I would go test drive one tho
Random editing question... When you go from one shot to the next where it almost looks like you use some sort of transition to smooth it out, keen to know what that is? Thanks
Great video Tish. I test drove a Kona last week (just the 1 litre.!!) I thought it a much better vehicle than the i30. However I have ordered a Maxda 3 which I got a fantastic deal on and is steers ahead of both in my opinion So it is goodbye to my 1 4 turbo Astra which drove beautifully until it would decide to stop and need a tow and repairs (costly ones.!!). .
yes they are real :) I personly own a Kona N , and in terms of lower Center of Gravity , i will let install the new provided lowering Springs from H&R or Eibach . and the best of the best with that is if you choose Eibach or H&R the Guarantee will keep alive for the Car :)
Great video, Tish! Bold claim that the Kona N is the most fun SUV. I’d say my Defender is more fun (off-road, obviously). I still think the Cayenne Turbo GT was an amazing experience on-road, along with the Macan GTS. Anyways, I’m driving one this afternoon so we shall see…. I’ll be sure to give you my thoughts!
I do like watching your reviews but probably for the wrong reasons 🤣 Just one thing however, it's a 1.6, not a 2.0. I've just bought a 2021 Proceed GT with a lesser version of this engine and I'm already frustrated with the bloody wheelspin in 1st and 2nd 😡 Its the first front wheel drive car I've had in 10 years as I've only had an MX5 and several all wheel drive cars since, and front wheel drive sucks in comparison. In every other way, I love my Kia. So this Kona must be intolerable. Anyway, keep the videos coming, I shall look forward to seeing you in them 😎
Great review on the Kona N, however I do think Hyundai should have made it AWD and perhaps increase the power to 300hp. It could’ve been their version of the WRX STi.
watching this vlog at a long distance from S.korea looks so mnch special with a wonderful girl it feels like driving a Ferrari with a wonderful girl. so i just bought the kona n due to fack that ......
Hyundai failed. This car should of been an AWD. I had money down on one, as soon as we found out it was not AWD, I pulled my money from the dealer. THIS car was meant to be AWD. Too many benefits to AWD. The cost is $1,400. Which is well worth it. They had all the hardware made for other cars. Hyundai crippled the car by having it to high and screwed up the roll center. It could of been something special, not just another "Also Ran". Then is Hyundai being stupid for one, and cheapskates as a whole, we see that as Europe gets light weight great looking rims, and North America get HEAVY ugly cast rims. Another fail from Hyundai. The car "that could of been.
@@muskistutter Here you go, Move ON. Hyundai has FAILED, it NEEDS AWD and it is way to high for no reason. It's roll center is way out of wack, it is a street racer NOT and off road car. And every review calls this problem out. AND no, you non AWD knowing people can't convince me the 2WD eLSD is good enough. NO, it is not. It is an axle tramp nightmare like all FWD high HP cars. And every review calls this out. This car was meant to be AWD. The weight is a BS excuse because to get a Kona balanced you need to add 100+ lbs in the rear in AWD form as the Kona was designed with too much weight cantilevered over the front wheels. In AWD form the Kona AWD N would steal 1/4 of the sales from the Golf R and would pull a chunk from the WRX and some from BMW and Audi, as many who buy those cars used, would now buy a new Kona N AWD. BUT NOT in 2WD form, it is a stinker in this under performing 2WD form to grab "next level buyers." Let alone more females who have money and always buy specialty AWD cars for safety as long as it has an automatic trans as it would have, those buyers are not buying a 2WD Kona N Hyundai failed on this one. So all you people who NEVER drove a properly setup AWD sports car can chime in with very weak arguments. Remember, a tire can only grip 100% if it has to put down 100% power input and 100% steering input you are not going anywhere fast. In AWD form and a non OEM alignment an AWD will dance through the corners, this 2WD car will not. Sales have been lost by a large number, because of this stupid choice of FWD only. What a shame. Oh yea, Hyundai, why does North America get the heavy UGLY cast rims and Europe gets the nice light weight forged rims?
@@tedtedness184 Everywhere I go they are sold out. Lol I also bought one. They failed for you. But guess what, the world doesn’t revolve around you and nobody cares. haha
Your technical explanation delivery is excellent. Better than most car reviewers.
Thank you Hector

Great to hear your thoughts on the Kona N! A little SUV which packs a punch with a 5 year warranty. I think there is a lot to like about the car 🙂
yes i agree with you tish it does need lights in the cabin great review as always
Good review. A car that “keeps you on your toes“ by virtue of front wheel drive only is a very substantial observation that you make.
My daily, love this car! Nice review.
Nice review tish looking good like always
The car looks cool love the button for more power

Can you do one of the Hyundai i20 N line?
From the states, love the accent 👍🏻
Thank you for watching
Good review Tish👏
Thank you!
Can you do the fiat tipo cross :) great review by the way.
Nice 1 tish you get my new sub but please tell me what's under the accelerator pedal I had a Tuscan there was a drive by wire thing
Unfortunately the track day track needs to be dry to compete with the four wheel drive cars, otherwise it will be left in their rear view mirrors
❤❤❤beautiful car I got the kona 1.0 litre I love my car. If I had the cash I would deffo have ❤
The front wheels didn't like the red button much. AWD would be nice.
Nice compact SUV, great review

I use iMovie and it’s the ‘dissolve’ transition

Sorry to hear about your Astra, they all seem to have issues as they get older. Great news on the Mazda however! Great choice!
Looks like the front and rear don’t match looks odd in my opinion ,great review 👍
Are those exhausts real? You could get a tennis ball in those!
I think I'd personally go for an i30N for the lower centre of gravity

Forget the lack of AWD, a big shame the Kona N is not available in Romania.
I think Hyundai is stupid for not bringing that car over there.

The Kona N has a 2.0 engine.
N-Line has a 1.6 engine.
@@jensurban5705 You're right. It's a 2.0. I thought the i30n was a 1.6, perhaps it used to be? Well I can only imagine the torque steer 😲

Can we call it a hatchback?
I’d call it a hatchback with more ground clearance and a smaller boot.
What do you mean they loved them because they was unpredictable....you mean you never know if they gonna break down or not ????
Hahah no, not necessarily. The rear-wheel drive BMW’s would kick out the back end and were just all round a bit of a handful.

Does it suffer any torque steer?
When you boot it you have to hang on for dear life ,yes there is torque steer and it’s hard to keep it straight on full power .
I own the Kona N and torque steer was not tuned out and it’s a feature I love about the car.

Tyres are too hard which make the ride quite uncomfortable I found .
