Jokes on him He had 120 on him
🤣🤣🤣
Problem tho is even if he had 120 on him and only offered 100 and was firm, that raises the risk of a no sale if the customer doesn't value the item over 100. Sellers assess how the customer reacts to the higher prices and follows the negotiations by what you say, body language and demand of the item.
An example of good bargaining. Seller made a bigger profit, buyer didn't spend all of his money. Win-win.
This is a joke guys
One piece fan eh
The funny thing is actually the customer anchored the price at 80usd first. It could have very well been 10000usd or 1mil or whatever.
Yeah, getting to be the first to state a price is really important
Well, no. No matter how much anchoring works, it wouldn't get you something costing 1 mil for 100 bucks.
Lmao as the seller you have all the power
@@ChrisOReilly it would if you were rich and used the piece and your connections in the art world to avoid paying taxes.
Nah.
Cost of a good is the unwritten rule of price anchor.
You cant sell under the price it cost you make something. If you do then its lost TIME, lost money, and wasted energy.
(MY terms of economics everything costs time, money, and energy)
The price is as high as people are willing to pay.
and idk how this relates to economics in the grand scheme of things but the ultra ulwealthy being able to buy stuff thats a necessity kinda ruins "need based goods"
So if a person is willing to buy generic old almost moldy bread for $200, what merchant would deny that sale?
Sadly I think that's an issue for the housing sector namely gentrified areas. But that's WAAAY beyond what youtube or even my skillset could accurately understand/solve. But it ticks me off anyways that houses can bloat soo high just cuz super rich can rise the market price for houses and other goods.
He messed up tho by quickly jumping and saying “wait wait just for you it’s $100” drag it a little bit to make them think they haggled instead of the sale person folding
True ⬆️
Then there’ll be a “follow for part 2”
Nah, this is better
#1 rule. Never fall in love with what you're buying. If they want to raise it too high come back with a $60 offer and ask them if they really want to play stupid games.
I have been trying this with a motorcycle I really want and it's just not working. Now they can't even get the motorcycle in stock because of supply issues
@@andrewbetances1203 Do you want it or need it? If it's a need then you're at the mercy of the seller. If it's a want then take your time as everything is inflated.
As a second hand seller and an artist, if you believe you can get the item for cheaper elsewhere, go ahead. I would expect a haggle aslong as it's close to my asking price. If an item by a seller is overpriced, it's usually, they overpaid themselves and haven't given the item as a bad job or they saw the item for a high price once and hasn't gone back to check again. As for sell your own paintings, it's double the price of materials and then $4/£3 an inch, which would make a painting that size around £200-300.
I always ask for a lower price, I set the bar lower before the seller can set it higher. I learned it from my mum when we used to go to Turkey and bought from bazaars.
"Wait that was smooth by the way"
"What do you mean?"
"By you setting a higher price, and me saying I don't have enough, you were willing to go lower so it seems like I got a good deal but I didnt"
"Ahh you caught me! But how'd you know?"
"I follow [enter name here]"
"I follow (Josh Otusanya) 😁 "
"Muaha"
Bwamuhahua
Muehehee
Is there any hope escaping Josh Otusanya
@@LLGameShows yes
But at the same time he can take that $100 painting to an appraiser, pay them $100 to say it’s worth $1,000, donate it, and now have a $1,000 tax write off. Ladies, gentlemen, and all in between….welcome to the art industry.
you spelled welcome to the "Money Laundry" wrong.
Great, now where in your mystical place do you think you're gonna find an art appraiser who is going to value it 10x? If it is that easy then why aren't you doing it?
@@duckmeat4674 that's how the shoe industry, ccg industry, most of the gaming industry, fantasy gambling industry, music industry, fashion industry, entertainment industry... (should I keep going) all work.
The reason you can't do it is because the market is belligerently saturated with literally everyone doing it. I mean, how the fk do you think Stock Valuation works?
You are gonna have a rough life if you're still trying to figure this crap out.

I finna use this to blackmail my momma. Thanks!
damn
You can try asking for something small and then go back and ask for what you really what. Works everytime. Got 50 bucks instead of 20

My father told me this several years ago, now i'm 18 and everything i've sold or i am selling is using this technique, also buying it's a good idea to use it in reverse mode, thanks dad!
Someone tried to do this to me in the past. Joke is I forgot how much money I have in my wallet and I just kept overestimated the amont. When we negotiate, He had to anchor the price two times until I open my wallet to see that I have much less money than agrred price and he decided to anchor the price again.
Dealerships across the US: F**k
This also works the other way around!
Done this for awhile and never knew it lol
Finally some of yours video that i could understand
If you own a shop you'll know it without being told.
Actually the first price said is the anchor, so the salesman got anchored at $80.
First good and usable advice from this dude
Yes I've done this before but with bigger numbers by selling dirtbikes and quads but its tricky because if you set that price too high you will scare of a customer specially if he has seen the product somewhere else before or knows a little too well about what's he is looking for
The more good options your customer has the lower that price anchor should be bc they will choose another product or the same one somewhere else
consumer and producer surplus right here ladies and gentlemen
Our moms would hav started the price at 20 and somehow you would have sold it in 10
but with my mum these tricks never work , she straight away comes and says 20 bucks and the sellers goes in state of shock
Salesman’s : DAMNIT THEY’RE LEARNING 500 THOUSAND NOW KNOW OUR SALES TECHNIQUE
This is sales 101. There’s also product placement, “sales”, color schemes, phrases such as I’m trying to get rid of it, a million different techniques that actually do work.
If people say just for me I will either walk out not buying it or just raise my price by 5
Both the customer and the sales person are using this technique in most interactions.
I knew this at 8, pro tip this is unnecessary in small towns it seems too high and they don’t usually bargain.
4 years ago one of my friends sold me AirPods this way; we agreed to $100 but he said he got a higher offer and was willing to give it to me for $115. It was worth it though, I still use them to this day.
To him the friendship is worth $15
That's very easy to spot on.
Live in an Indian middle class house for a year . You can learn a lot more about negotiating 😀😀😀
Many of us didn't learn how to haggle when we were growing up. It's quite an art.
Many people unknowingly fall for the scarcity sales technique, making it a powerful tool for sales professionals.
Its like when stores will raise the price on something, then put it "on sale", when the discounted price is the same as it was before, if not even more
As a professional salesmen, I can attest to this. I sold Kirby home maintenance systems for $3,210 and this technique had a lot to do with it
Jojo bizarre adventure already taught me this
If I want to pay 80 for something I take a 100 with me but start of with 60 and say I only have 80
Also I think the buyer can do something similar, like offering 4k on something with a value of 5k
The anchoring technique. It's showing the effectiveness of psychology.
Clean visuals... Important message...Nice combo 💪🏠🏠✅
Extremely useful tool, I use it everyday.
That's when your mouth runs too much, this was hella helpful thanks
Plot twist it was worth 1 million and the buyer knew that
If you wanna be a good salesman, sell something you don't have to someone who doesn't need it, then you are a good salesman
That's an order taker there is a BIG difference
@@jacobharris2373 it is called a joke 😅
Indian moms would buy that same painting from you at 60 bucks only. 😂
The opposite of lowering the price saying it very low and take ot to the real price ye want it for
Nobody told me this technique before. I just figured that out. When I told that to my parents and my girlfriend, the three of then called me stupid abd said that was so dumb. :(
For some reason out of all kinds of scams, since I can remember I've always seen through this one and I've never fallen for it.
Wen asking ur parents for money use this scheme: say u need $20, ask them for 200 and so 20 won't seem like alot to them
Anything is worth what you're willing to pay. If you're willing to pay $100 for that painting, it doesn't matter what the market says.
"And now you will.get only 80 bucks.for that""
That s a Byass in case u were wondering, the anchoring part
Good one and the painting is really beautiful
Hahaha I knew he would say “ follow for more” and dislike it right before it 😅
Yeah, this is called bargaining
Depends on what you're selling. Anchoring is true and works just like this at low dollar amounts. When you're working with high dollars though, and can offer financing it's just the opposite. Lead with the low monthly payments. If you say the whole number straight out, people will fixate on it and build their walls up high.
Ok now that you're ok with 80 bucks, Im buying this for 80$
Him:blah blah blah
Me:heh,so you can give it for 80 huh?here ya go then*hands 80$*
Never worked in sales, can’t believe it I knew that
Here’s a real good one. Say you could buy it for 80, then when they say it’s 120, go “damn I only have 70 on me”. Artists *really love it* when you haggle and waste their time.
Here’s an even better one. Tell them you’ll give them exposure in exchange for the artwork instead of money. now that’s business
@@abudgie6909, an artist doesn't need exposure, that is easy to generate, actually selling their work is another. And art teachers are wondering why so many artist "sell out" and go into commercial venturers like game and film etc... or end up teaching themselves, it's the only way to pay the bills.
@@stevenstocker9873 the joke is that they don’t like when you off exposure 🤦♂️ that joke went over your head like an airplane.
Sales techniques are an essential aspect of successful selling. They provide sales professionals with a structured approach to engage with customers, understand their needs, and guide them towards making a purchase. By mastering various sales techniques such as active listening, objection handling, and closing strategies, salespeople can enhance their effectiveness and achieve higher conversion rates. However, it's crucial to remember that genuine empathy, building relationships, and providing value should underpin any sales technique to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.
No one can top a 'Baniya' in bargaining in the World.
I look over damage on vehicles. I have to do this everyday. Someone is always trying to get more out of your insurance.
I thought everyone knew you start high or low depending on which end you're on?
Exactly,, Who wouldn’t know this??
This is pure brilliance ❤️🔥
He's the only one that I can tolerate watching all these other people are so annoying to watch 😂
I have never fallen for that trick.
This is an example of anchoring
I felt good when he said "follow to know more" and not "Am following him hence I know about it"
Actually.... when you go ANYWHERE (Hobby Lobby, Kroger, etc) that has a "sale"... price inflation essentially makes you "break even" on a supposed SALE you thought you got. In other words, the sale occurred at the time of a price increase so you THINK you're paying the sale price, but you're actually paying the current price asked OR more. Anchoring is anchored in EVERY "sale" (esp franchises)
He anchored first 😂
I do this all the time in just about anything and everything I sell or buy. I love the art of negotiation. People have said that I am practically Asian because I negotiate so much. Little known fact, you can also negotiate in stores like Lowe's and home depot.
What and who is going to want to negotiate in home Depot or Lowe's? Nobody there cares as they are making $15 at most and will just say I can't do that so you don't waste their time.
@@andrewbetances1203 done it plenty of times bud. You're cool because you pay retail.
@@jeremywheeler8417 you didn't answer my question. Who can you negotiate with there? Also, I've bought stuff on Amazon and returned it at Lowes and home Depot for a profit when I see it. Sometimes I'll make a few hundred dollars. How's that for retail
@@andrewbetances1203 go to the customer service desk and make your offer there. They will have to check with a manager. That's always worked for me
Always ask the price first, then u set lower price than u want, try to put the middle is on the price you trully willing to pay, easy 😁
But the buyer had 100 and offered 80 knowing he could pay 100. Now the seller thinks he got a deal because the buyer paid 20 dollars more. This trick works for both sides
True
Reminds me of runescape , Ragnarok and celtic heroes
Plot twist: Customer anchored him with 80$.
Too bad can’t do this in stores
Even our local sellers do that for quarter years.
nicely done
Woulda tried the same, but with a guy who doesnt know art at all, a last minute decent peice of inspiration, and stopped the "well actually" at "$100" and sell something worth maybe 13 bucks for almost 10x more. Make him feel like I let him in on the behind the scenes of scammi- er... I mean business so that he pays $100 with not only no regret but feeling like he got anything useful from that interaction.
Nice hand gestures
This a norm for Nigeria, they can even double the initial price just to give room for negotiation
actually he have 200USD in pocket,,
and he about to bid it online expecting to get 1k USD
but someone turnout bid it for 1,2k USD
I do that all the time without any knowledge
In India, we do this every day. Even kids do this.
"never split the difference"...
He even went through the trouble of changing his shirt and removing his glasses.
So apparently A fair value for an oil painting is double the cost of the supplies and then add $4 or £3 an inch. So that'll be closer to $300, or £250 unless it's a well-known artist, then the value skyrockets.
Why not anchor it to the negative amount and get it for free
Glad to see all my virtual (insert video game) traders coming forward about having already mastered this art cus if u don't it's legit just
What do you value it at
Idk what do you think it's worth
Idk
This sales tactic is common in our country
The first to say a number loses
A number loses
It's called dealing and bargaining its been something done for ever ppl
Even a street dog in India knows this shit
Everyone kinda knows this, but maybe not consciously. Thanks!
hay what is your advice on what to do with a large inheritance like a couple hundred thousand
Oldest sales technique from 5 BC. You don't need a guru to tell that
in psychology this is called “door in the face” and it’s used for compliance. maybe don’t teach ppl how to manipulate other ppl
it's how sales works deal with it
then the guy walked away and didn't but the painting
I would paint that myself & keep the extra Money
Yeah for me if I want an initial price let's say it's 100 I would put an item at 120 or higher becuase of this the buyers will negotiate the price and if they negotiate lower than my initial goal I reject most of the times I get more that my initial goal
