I’ve been in sales for 3 years, 1 thing I learned is not actually selling the product or service but creating an experience with the customer/client. The less your anxious to make a sale & use “tactics” they’ll be more willing to purchase. It’s weird but it works.
Completely agree. If they think you are genuine and feel comfortable with you, theyre likely gonna buy. You get there by being authentic and by actually having their best interest in mind.

In sales from age 26, now 74. Best advice I got at the start was..we have 2 ears and 1 mouth. Therefore we should listen twice as much as we speak. Worked a treat for me. Only reason I am not still selling is coz I got fired 3 years ago for not getting the vaxx poison and couldn't be bothered still working.
I love sales… it changed my life. Never going back to my old life. The fun in the challenge of getting a sale done is so much better than working for someone’s time.. you get what you earned period.
The rich are money-minded; that's a lesson I've grasped from the very beginning. I've been attempting for some time to increase the size of my portfolio, but the largest obstacle is the absence of clear entry and exit plans. i wonder kind of investment someone can go deep in to. Any guidance in this regard would be much valued.
I suggest consulting with an experienced financial professional. It might seem pricey, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." My belief is that "Expert solutions require expert providers."
Reason i decided to work closely with a brokerage adviser ever since the market got really tense and the pressure became too much. I should be retiring in 17 months, so I've had a brokerage adviser guide me through the chaos. It's been 9 months now, and I've made approximately 650K net from all of my holdings.
This is definitely worth considering! Do you have any recommendations for professionals or advisors I could speak with? I really need help with proper portfolio allocation.
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Judith Lynn Staufer” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up.

Lol i could barely sell $26 per month subscriptions, but after 2 years i got $2.1m on sales for the year. Then our corporate changed a whole bunch of processes, doubled our pricing, which sent my sales to $1m annually. Then they made it even worse, so my numbers were declining. Think for a second, the industry stays exactly the same, but your company doubles price for no reason. At the end of my 4th year i just decided to become an entrepreneur. All the referral based relationships i had were slowly disintegrating. So as an entrepreneur, it'll be interesting to see how these things happen in the future.

I was a project manager within a large sales team, after over a decade working my way up through the tech service area. I noticed that the best sales people had very similar close relationships with customers, as most of us field service staff did. Others didn't deserve to be there.. My best moment was when I marched into the business managers office in disbelief at the problems I saw within sales once I finally got there. After I finished explaining the issues, he put his face in his hands & said please help me fix it. He removed my leash that very moment, I'll never forget the things I learned & did after that. He just had to give me authority to do them. I solved most of it, sitting at home in peace, thinking. I was so lucky to be the one with the answers.
So right on follow-up. I sell moving services for 7 moving companies across the US, and the biggest thing I see with other companies is that their sales people are waiting for their phone to ring, or they give up after the first time their call hits voicemail (and they don't leave one either). I follow-up always. If someone says they're going to call me back at 3pm, and it's 3:01pm, best believe I'm dialing them up. If they don't answer, I'm sending a text. Before my day ends, I'm following up one more time. The next day bright and early I'm calling and leaving a voicemail. People see I care about getting them the best moving service on the market and they end up going with whoever I'm selling for. You have to be proactive.
I've been in sales for a decade now.. Couldn't agree more with all the points shared. Having right sales mentor plays a pivotal role in your journey to become successful in sales. I like what you said at about 9:00, a real salesperson provides value to their customer and that's the reason they buy. A real salesperson stands behind their product and creates brand ambassadors out of their customers because the customers are getting much more out of their investment than what they thought they would get. Great video. Started in sales in 1997 after coming out of the military, so 25 years in sales as of this year (yikes, that makes me feel old). All of Patrick's advice is very true. My dad was in sales for over 40 years. He gave me a lot of sales craft advice when I started. One of the points that always stuck with me was that customers need somewhere between 6 to 8 contacts before they will make a purchase decision or even really start to accept and listen to you. It took me a little over a year after I started to make on average 6 contacts to my core base of prospects. That first year was not pleasant to say the least. I had been in the military with a steady paycheck and I took a hit in income and benefits coming out into the private sector. There were a lot of people asking a lot of "why did you do that" questions that can really get into your head if you let it. And then at about the one year mark, like eerie clockwork, the calls started getting easier and more successful. Reticent, stand-offish contacts became small customers then bigger customers. Referrals became more consistent and built on themselves. It takes time and effort, which is simple to say and difficult to implement. The one other point I would add is that successful sales is rarely a 40 hour per week, 8 to 5 job. You have to put in the hours in an effective manner to achieve consistent success.
Thank you for sharing, coming up on my 1 year mark in under 65 insurance sales I couldn't relate to you more. I'm only 26 and hearing this from someone who's been in the game for as long as I've been alive is reassuring. Thank you for your service and good luck in the future :)
@@marcusmosely8154 Thanks for the message. Best wishes for your current and future success. It is the hardest at the start. One other bit of advice: don't let the failures get into your head but also don't let the successes cloud your thinking. Sales is rarely linear and you can have some very successful hot streaks followed by low periods that you need to be ready for. I have known a lot of people in sales who failed because they have a good month or good year, elevate their thinking and lifestyle spending to that new peak, then are devastated (financially, emotionally) by the next slow period. Calibrate your lifestyle to a sort of rolling average to your sales (or of comparables in your industry) so you can bank the good runs to cover the slow times.
My first year in sales I doubled my old yearly income of being paid hourly. Third year tripled. 4th year, walked away from that job and started my own business. 🤷🏼♂️
I'd like to add a point to the analogy of the girl you like. If there is one girl you like out of 50 in a room you're not going to try to hit on all 50 you'll make it a point to make the first best impression for the girl you really want because you know ultimately that is the woman you want. Same in sales, I've learned that if you're selling a specific product it's useless to try and sell it to a thousand people that won't need it versus focusing your energy on the 50 people that do.
On the other hand, it's also good to go out and sell to a thousand people because it will give you experience on who your target audience will be. It will also give you experience with your overall pitch.
This is so accurate! I recently passed my first year in sales and I made less money than I have ever made in my post-college working life. But I can also see I’ll be making more than I’ve ever made someday soon!
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.
Yeah! every $1 you invest today is a little bit of time that you buy back in the future, the more you invest, the more free time you can afford in the future, having time and the freedom to choose what to do are the ultimate investing goals.
The pandemic came and taught me the importance of having multiple stream of income, unfortunately having a nice paying job doesn't mean you are financial secured anymore. So we all need to put in an extra- income earning chance, like bitcoin, stocks bonds real estate .
True! Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. The stock market has plenty of opportunities to earn which I myself took advantage of. I made my first million from going diverse, mainly ETFs(stocks, bonds etc), bitcoin , and gold. I'm also working on an investment plan that includes NFTs with my advisor, Katie . It's been a year and half of steady growth.

I'm really good at sales. I've always put blood on the deck and supported my company and fellow sales people while often carrying the team and company through lean months, and am used to working pure commission, no hourly. I haven't been able to find a company that's serious and consistent about maintaining a non-toxic environment for sales team members. That is highly important to anyone that creates the needed nuance in their approach to close difficult deals and hard to reach prospective clients.
I own the largest Business Class sale over the phone with selling a point to point connection with a company from their Jamestown, NY location to Cleveland, OH....I was with Time Warner Cable at the time now Spectrum and that was in 2012 and it still hasn't been broken. I even proved myself wrong that you can't teach someone who doesn't have a bit of natural sales ability to be a great salesman by helping my former co-worker from getting off her 3 month probation which was an inevitable termination and that is actually my proudest moment in sales
Overcoming objections is valuable only in some situations..not all. Customers do not want to be wrestled to the ground by the sales person being able to instantly crush an objection. There are times where there are false objections…smoke screens if you will. But in fact there is a hidden agenda that you may not be aware of…that is actually driving the sales opportunity…that the client may not reveal to someone he sees as a transactional entity…when he may be looking for a partner or someone able to provide him with sustainable point of differentiation within his industry/ marketplace.

I'm telling you, as much of a struggle as it can be, I could never and will never go back to work in a basic 9 to 5:00 job with a fixed income. Co-workers and supervisors treating you like crap, not able to make more than you are currently, workplace politics, and definitely underpaid, getting fired all the time, etc. This career got me out of so many things, but I swear that I was going to make it work and never go back to the crap that I was working before. I started my 'selling' career, unknown to me, as an 8 yr old, when I managed to get myself a part time job in the side show van selling food for the attendees. Inside the van, my job was to fill the waffles at the front of the van and yell out 'hot dogs waffles candy floss" to attract passers by. Every year the fair came to my little town, I was rehired for that job until we left the town. My dream to become a sales man started while working in a furniture retail store. It was my third job in furniture business, and second after I left school. I was hired into the furniture department as a 21yr old. I wanted to sell antique styled furniture, we were next to the carpet department. Every morning every day, my first job always was cleaning the surface of every single table on display, I didn't like this task I wanted to sell only, next job was moving all the tables around resetting the displays. Changing the layouts, After that, bringing up new stock from stores, - Though I didn't know it at the time, I was being 'trained' for a career in retail sales. We were next to the carpet department, we saw the sales reps calling all the time. One day a commercial carpet sales rep whom we all really liked; called in. I’ve been in sales for 3 years, 1 thing I learned is not actually selling the product or service but creating an experience with the customer/client. The less your anxious to make a sale & use “tactics” they’ll be more willing to purchase. It’s weird but it works.
For real. Anxiety was killing me my first couple days. Even after my first couple sales. But day 3 something just clicked.
Completely agree. If they think you are genuine and feel comfortable with you, theyre likely gonna buy. You get there by being authentic and by actually having their best interest in mind.

I’m 5 years in sales right now. Moved my way up from furniture sales, car sales, then inside corporate financial sales :-)

QUALITIES OF GREAT SALESPERSON
1. ASKS THE RIGHT QUESTIONS
2. GREAT LISTENER
3. WANTS TO HELP YOU
4. MATCHES NEEDS
Apply this to your relationships as well and see how far it takes you. Awesome stuff!

Nothing new is comfortable! Change is uncomfortable but the Reward if you stick it out is GREAT! Sales is not for Everyone but it is for SOMEONE!💯
1.listen to your customers. 2. Find a way to create value for your customer, even if it’s free. 3. If your sales manager can’t sell you. He sucks. Just tell him what he wants to hear and keep doing you. 4. Marketing trumps sales so always be building your online network. 5. Find products that people are buying. Don’t be afraid to fire your boss and move on if nobody want that shit!
Agreed. Internal politics is something nobody warns you about. Treat your company like a chess board, just like your customers. Ultimately, to get things approved, turned around quickly, or even booked you will need to be friends with a lot of key people. Also, filter out the ones who suck so you don't waste your time with them.

Sales is the way to financial freedom, you just cannot quit when things get hard.
I was a project manager within a large sales team, after over a decade working my way up through the tech service area.
I noticed that the best sales people had very similar close relationships with customers, as most of us field service staff did.
Others didn't deserve to be there..
My best moment was when I marched into the business managers office in disbelief at the problems I saw within sales
once I finally got there.
How many people did you fire?
Also, develop your mental toughness to succeed in sales and keep upgrading your knowledge in sales by reading books, listening to podcasts, interviews and following great content like Valuetainment.

It’s just confidence. Once you get your first sale it’s only up from there
My first year in sales I doubled my old yearly income of being paid hourly.

Having a roleplay buddy is important when you need to hone in the skill of sales!

I know a way to get wealthy, healthy and to have a perfect relationship but as it's a guaranteed way to succeed they're deleting comments each time I try to help people. Look, do you see my face on the left? Yeah, you know what to do and I tell you the rest where they can't delete my comments.
If you are really serious about your goals and dreams, you wanna do it.
Pat teaches us to Rizz up 58 year old moms of 22 year old women. Let's go 💯
This Is the type of content I love from your channel. Great content.
Sales is like dating, at start things aren't as simple at start, yet when you learn how to make sweet love, you will love.
I was working real estate sales part time for 2 years along side an engineering role. I eventually ended up quitting engineering job to go all in on real estate and after doing so I had my best year to date. In no way has it been comfortable but growth is made through uncomfortable situations.
I need help
Keep it up! I am dropping 1 song a week for the next 3 years straight. It has never been done in music. Come along for the ride if you want. Stay blessed ! - Bryan
Toxic environment should be part of job description of every sales job
I own the largest Business Class sale over the phone with selling a point to point connection with a company from their Jamestown, NY location to Cleveland, OH....I was with Time Warner Cable at the time now Spectrum and that was in 2012 and it still hasn't been broken. I was born with the sales gift.
Greatest video ever seen about sales
I never thought I'd ever hear some facts like this today...
There is an ultimate solution to achieving financial success, maintaining good health, and establishing a perfect relationship. Regrettably, my attempts to aid others have resulted in the deletion of my comments. Look, do you see my face on the left? Yeah, you know what to do and I tell you the rest where they can't delete my comments.
If you are really serious about your goals and dreams, you wanna do it.
Thank you Patrick, I’m 23 and just started a energy broker role doing B2B.
The juice simply isn't worth the squeeze. With sales, there's no limit to what you can make if you're willing to put the effort in.
This information was great thank you!
Thanks Pat for putting all these videos together with no expectations whatsoever. Those who don’t follow or don’t execute these simple but not easy tips, miss out a lot. With love and respect, Dr. Kay Sobhe, Certified Rug Specialist, Certified Rug Appraiser, Los Angeles

Thank you. Just what I needed to watch. My hubby and I are directors of our farm business and own property, plus small pensions. I am nearly 52, hubby is 55. We have started to save to retire from the farm, and possibly live on rental income, I'd really appreciate you go LIVE and talk about how to earn passive income online and retire comfortably, let’s say $1M.
consider financial planning.
It really isn’t about how much you save, it’s about how you manage your money. Whether you work to earn income or invest, it still boils down to income vs expenses, so yeah you may look into financial advisors for a strategy that suits your timing.
I totally agree, I'm 60 and newly retired with about 1.2 million outside retirement funds, no debt, and very small dollars in retirement funds compared to my portfolio balance over the past 3 years till date. tbh, the role of the invt-advisor can only be overlooked, not denied. just have to do your research in finding a reputable one.
@@jeffery_Automotive Please can you leave the info of your investment advisor here? I’m in dire need for one
I personally work with 'Julie Anne Hoover’’ she covers things like investing, insurance, making sure retirement is well funded, going over tax benefits, ways to have a volatility buffer for investment risk. many things like that. Just take a look at her full name on the internet. She is well known so it shouldn't be hard to find her.
This video never gets old.
I really needed this video Pat. Have been going through a rough patch in my sales career and this video has helped me align my mindset to put me back on track. God bless !!!
Great video. I left engineering for tech sales for these exact reasons. If you put in the work the first few years, you have the potential to drastically change your career.
I'm a sys admin looking to transition into tech sales. Started taking notes on this video and reading articles on LinkedIn. I could use all the advice I can get.
@@jasonsherrod478 where are you at in your transition and what types of roles are you looking for?
@@techsales-higherlevels I am in the early stages of my transition. I've been researching what would be required to switch over to tech sales and what skills I would need to fill in the gaps. As far as roles I see my path starting as an SDR.
@@jasonsherrod478 That's a great starting point. Especially given your background I'd recommend selling something you've either worked with or know conceptually how it works and what its impact is to an IT team. Lots of companies would be excited to have someone who truly understands the tech, so long as you can also learn the sales side of the house.
We have some free content on how to modify your resume and prepare for SDR interviews: ua-cam.com/video/YXB7LnLOrio/v-deo.html
Let me know if you have questions as you keep working towards it
@@techsales-higherlevels Thanks for the info. I will take a look.
A+, Bet! Damn near every word's a golden nugget for breaking into the world of sales!
Bro I watched the first 2 minutes and it scared the shit out of me but im still going.
5 points in and you've described me and my startup...
The timing of this…
I’m 42 and in month four of my first commission only sales position
Shot is SOOOO much harder than people realize, but, push thru, and even in month four you may realize that already you made as much as you ever did in a year, for most of your life.
Best decision I’ve made🏆
You have to REALLY want it though.
Props to you for going all in on a commissioned based sales position! It's hard work but 100% worth it!
@@WillMetscherCoach Thanks man! Of course I forgot all about this post and comment. So much has changed since. Had my life’s highest earning year 2022 because if this
I been doing it for 5 years I never had much other options I didn’t grow up with a lot of opportunities I made my own no college sales was the only thing I could think of to make the life I want without a degree it was worth it
Its actually a very good guide teaching and warning about how Salespersons rip people off
You are a master ... because you can sell your points in your video. Why? You dress nice, look at the camera, speak not too fast nor slow ... and are SINCERE about helping, me, the learner. James
Tried downloading the PDF file; therefore, subscribed with Valuetainment. It took me to watch the "Market Crash" video!!!
We wanted to know about his job, what he did.
He wore a business suit; drove a company car; wore an expensive watch, had a company expense account. Often he had to travel from city to city and stay away from home, to meet his customers, sometimes he had to entertain them. BANG!!!! my Sales dream was born.
