So classic!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!! Herman and Grandpa would be proud!!!!
Hi John Behneman
, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Hope you see many more cars you enjoy, and you're welcome, Lou
They make a wonderful 1/18 scale diecast model of this that's amazing, you can get both cars from the show and they're very detailed and great fun to display.
Hi Robert, Thank you for sharing. Sounds cool, Lou
I grew up watching the Munsters awesome still watch it to this day reruns 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I live 12 minutes from this place. It’s fun to stop in every once in a while 🤙
Fun time for sure :-)
You are so lucky
Rough camera work, but it's good to see the car.
+George Miller Hi George, I'll work on the camera work. Thanks for viewing, Lou
@@loucostabile its all good we all appreciate the fact you captured as much of this car as you did.
I built this model as a kid in '65 or '66. I was also into slot car racing, so I adapted it to a fast slot car chassis I had. I had the coolest slot car in the place.
Happy to read this car / video brings back fun memories :-)
George Barris was amazing. Was like he could come up with the perfect design or look
Hi David, I agree, George Barris was amazing. Lou
Big Daddy Ed Roth could also.
I remember seeing the original Drag U La hanging from the ceiling in an Atlantic City hotel for years which was pretty lame because nobody could see the car up close.
Cool video.
Hi Rick, I agree, it's important to see the car up close, Lou
When I was a small boy my father used to race slot cars(70-71),he made most of his own frames and bodies he had this and the hearse from the series as two of his cars. Don't know whatever happened to them.
Hi MIKE VALUSKA
, Sounds like wonderful childhood memories :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and I hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Very cool video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.

It doesn't get any kooler than this🦇
Hi Miguel Salami, High praise for this car :-) Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you enjoy, Lou
On the movie "Munster go Home" the Dragula was built for Herman to race. The differences was that it had an open canopy and a roll cage. (Most likely due to Herman driving.) Was this a newly built Dragula , or just a mild conversion of the original.
Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy.
Awsome car love the munsters
Glad to read you enjoy this car :-) Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy.
Didn’t they have an episode where they raced the two cars at the strip?
Might be copywrited, so I didn't video TV footage.
yes
Funny, I just saw it like 2 days ago. The bad guys took the shoot, so Grandpa would crash, so Herman grabbed the back and eventually stopped it, with his shoes smoking LMAO
Looks great. Wish the diecast model (1/18 scale) would have been as accurate in their production.

Great vlog!
Thank you showgirls around the world a dancer family :-)
Looks like Herman didn't return that coffin back to the parlor where he worked after all.
Nice :-)
Loved the episode with the Munsters at the drags and grandpa's Dragula. Someone was burning out in that car in that episode. Maybe at the old Lions dragway.
Agreed, fun episode :-)
Herman gets a flat, he blows it up like a baloon, never laughed soo hard
Russell Hueners I remember
Thats sweet!!

Hi ShadowGamerBR, Glad you like this one :-) Hope you see many more cars you'll enjoy, Lou
DRAG-U-LA, to this day... remains “The only dragster in America that can play ‘O’ Promise Me’...in 2nd gear!”
LOL
😆
Nice :-)
great comment, you are a true munster fan
Love any car that George Barris had anything to do with..
Hi Ticonderous, Glad to read you enjoy this car, and anything George Barris related, Lou
Yes
Cool car man.
Glad to read you enjoy this one Bruce :-)
That episode was entitled "hot rod Herman."
Hi Colin Gan, Thank you for sharing that tip :-) That's helpful, Lou
It's to die for
Good one :-)
Rumor has it this is the car that began the dream of the Ford Pinto. But Dragula was the FIRST coffin car, the Pinto came later.
Funny :-)
More original than the original eh ??? Hmmmm
Lolz I need sleep
Interesting.....makes you think....
They Restored the Original Dragula, but not to it's Original configuration. This is a Replica built to Original Specs and Detail.
More Human Than Human.
Someone needs to do video of it running and more information about it,engine set up etc.
Hope that someone is me videoing :-)
well looking at..driving it yr package is sitting right on rear end but yea would fun just once even ya granny geared it
Good movie
Hi Chris Hoffman, Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
It would be pretty bad if that diff ever gives up. Id imagine it would warm up on a long ride. I dont know how much i would want a diff under my sack but that is one cool ride.
That's an interesting (and funny) perspective :-)
the most authentic replica
Yeah, something like that :-)
Very close but the bubble seems too tall compared to the Origional also the rear wheels offset seems wrong they need to be slightly more deep dish

Do y'all now anything about cars? What kind of engine? What's the displacemt? What gear ratio? Is it just me? I'd just like to know a few technical specs.
Hi Trenton McCall, I think you're on the wrong UA-cam Channel, you're looking for Car & Driver, or Motorweek, on this Channel we're telling stories and having fun, Lou P.S. If you watch more of my videos you'll see once in awhile I share that stuff too :-)
The original had a 289 Ford V8.
They originally called this the "Body Snatcher"
Hi Arlene S., Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you enjoy, Lou
@@loucostabile i always liked the futuristic jetson cars in the 1965 Italian movie Wild Wild Planet. Suprised we aren't driving those now.
I thought you stopped it with Herman bumper skiing.
:-)
According to Butch Patrick, the original Dragula car was broken up, and lost to posterity, shortly after the series ended.Any out there are all replicas.

Please don't forget, Tom Daniel was commissioned to design Munster Koach and Dragula FOR Barris. Barris did NOT design them, he only approved Tom's design then built them. Tom Daniel was waaay underpaid for the job also.

The show was sponsored by Ford, so the cars used 289 Ford engines. The builder wanted to use an after market camshaft, but Ford was concerned that might be less reliable than the stock camshaft and if anything failed it could be embarrassing. Ford insisted on using stock camshafts in the engines.

More original than the original? That's like saying Real simulated LOL ! Nice car.
Hi Beau Biker, Happy to read you enjoy this "Nice car" :-) Thank you for viewing & sharing, Lou
I have the fie-cast model of this
Nice :-)
More original than the original.
:-)
I don't remember the Munsters car looking like this
Thank you for viewing and sharing.
It would be a good idea to use manual focus so your camera isn’t always going in and out of focus.
Hi Kevin, Thanks for sharing tip. Lou
On the black and white tv 📺 then it did not look that! I thought it was silver “
On a black & white TV, you're right this one was silver :-)
The original Drag-U-La's frame was actually painted a cream color and NOT gold?
Hi Michael Scarola, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Lou, I was asking if the original Drag-U-La's frame was painted a cream color. Is the cream colored frame accurate to how Drag-U-La first appeared on the Munsters TV show? Sorry for the confusion. :-(
Ahhh, I understand Michael. Brian shared to his knowledge this one is closest replica to the original, so I'd guess the paint is probably correct, Lou
Thanks Lou! How can I contact Brian?

+DemocracyOfHypocrisy That would be fun! Thanks for commenting and viewing, Lou
The real one is in collection in Japan
Shift cameraman.
Thanks for sharing.
Really
They could call that ride the dirt napper.
Hi Bill Bright, Good idea. Thank you for viewing and commenting, Lou
I want one
Hope you get yours soon.
Ashes to ashes, rust to rust, I saw one guy was buried riding a Harley Davidson.
Ouch.
Wikipedia says Volo has the original.
Interesting. I guess you can't believe everything on Wikipedia :-)
@@loucostabile Yeah, I know. I would like to see the original Dragula still.
UA-cam video stabilization is making me sick, lol.
yes, you're right... sorry about that, lesson painfully learned.
Just enough space for your luggage on top of the old differential.
:-)
Originally designed by Tom Daniels,NOT George Barris who takes the credit with no shame. Tom if you dont know did the Red Baron model car we all know and love and built a model of.

Ford? I was thinking this might be a Ford-go-sie.
Nice :-)
so where is the No1 car now?
Hi Tony Davis, I don't know, maybe a Viewer can help with that question, Lou
My shop
For many years the original Dragula was in hard Rock Café in New Jersey. Think Munsters Go Home. George Barris never had a bubble top in 1966. This car had organ pipes from too much heat. It had the Italian wire wheels and motorcycle tires. In the rear was two 32" drag slicks with Craigar ST racing mags. It was hanging that way for many years. according to the video we watch they said it was restored. However this gold 50th anniversary is more accurate. They forgot the gold bullets on the Rader mags. Otherwise it's dead on in accuracy. But the man is right it had a cream frame not gold. Cars of The Stars 1964 and 2008 with Farrah Faucet Vette in jade. amt model kit with turbine mags. How many know about The ZZR restoration Barris Kustom in "Out of Sight" 1966. I live in California helping by video conference calling. Dox in Italy owns the car. I found the rear mags, but finding two Rader Star mags are very hard to find. The car is expected to be restored in three years. It needs a new pick up box built. It's missing both large four injector scoops. The ZZR was made from a left over Munster Koach with the top cut off. It has square frame and two Buick 325 CID bored out to 340 CID. George Barris sold the two Dupree Chrome Dome electric fuel pumps need to star the car. We are going to use Porche' electric fuel pumps instead. PH
Yeah it’s cool and all, but can it dig through the ditches and burn through the witches?
Nice :-)
Holly rockin - @ss ride
Batman ..........
Well said :-)
That thing is probably worth a pile 💰l mean the original
Thank you for viewing and sharing.
I hate Rob Zombie , the true Dragula was created by Chuck Barris customs as a more drag ready car than the Munster Coach , the 2 best Hollywood hot rods ever made .
Michael Ledford rob is amazing
Chuck Barris was the host of the Gong show.

perhaps filming with a 3 year old Kindle isn't the best choice!
Thanks for making me laugh out loud :-) Some of my earlier videos have some waviness as UA-cam would ask, "Would you like to stabilize your video?" DO NOT CLICK YES... Sadly learned that after many video, however her is one I leaded today and let me know what you think? Thanks, Lou ua-cam.com/video/leeN0osgXUw/v-deo.html
Eddie Munster has one...
Good to know :-)
@@loucostabile if you are in Florida this week he will be at the free play event in Orlando with his car
My eyes hurt.....
Hmmm, Could be because of one of my earlier videos... hope you see a more recent one. How this one for you? Enjoy! Lou ua-cam.com/video/UypWVUY7r0w/v-deo.html
haha rob zombie Dracula lol
:-)
that's my surname lol
:-)
If you crash its "a coffin on wheels"
Good one :-)
1964, the first blood drive mobile
Hi Mike Good, I call that a "Good" one :-) Lou
Lou Costabile
Good one.
I built my model car just like that and I gave it to The Ghoul. The Ghoul blew up my model car and I saw that on tv. The Ghoul show. I laughed like s big dog.
DETROIT!!!!!!!!
i am here for rob zombie
i slam in the back of my dragula
do it baby
do it baby♪
Nice :-)
Qu The Munster theme
Nice!

Chrysler had the cross Ram intake.

Sam; It looks like a Mickey Thompson cross ram on a Ford
See more of the Munster Koach and Dragula at; facebook.com/munsterkoach/
Thank you for sharing.
You see Son,... that's Why you Always wear a Crash Helmet!!
:-)
Are you filming under water or am I having a flash back of my LSD Days ? WTF is wrong with the camera ..lolol
Hi Gennaro Lombardi, Yes, the "warp" look is actually caused when UA-cam at the time if this video asked, "Would you like to stabilize your video?" DO NOT click the "Yes" button as I did. Lesson sadly learned over to many of my early videos, however it has been corrected. Lou
1st
Winner !
FOCUS!!!!!
Thank God Gary Larrier you told me to focus because I got to excited around this car, and then holy cow you helped me realize I HAVE A CAMERA IN MY HAND!! Ok, Ok, like Gary taught me, FOCUS!, FOCUS! Thank you Gary to keep me on track. Stay well, Lou
Glad to be of service Lou.
Okay so it's not the 1964 car. That is such a nice reproduction that I forgive you for the misleading title. Not that you need my dumbass forgiveness. Edit I can't forgive you for not opening the hood
Heck, let's open the hood, put gas in it, and drive this one is what I wanted to do :-) Stay tuned for more fun tolfan, Lou
Its not the original its a replica
Correct.
Thats grandpas car
You're right :-)
dead,
I am the one,

strangling the breeze.

Hi Max Power, Cool picture of a truck. Question, did you enjoy the video? Lou
yes, I enjoyed it quite a bit. and thank you, that's my radio controlled BIGFOOT, and I have lots of fun with it.:)
Hi Max Power, Glad you enjoyed the video :-) Thank you for viewing, Lou
I don't want to watch a blurry video.
Try one of my newer ones. How's this? ua-cam.com/video/Wzv6YKwij2s/v-deo.html
Scott West .... how has this past year been for you after your life was ruined by this video?
All these replicas ruin the mystique of these great movie cars of the 60s.
Thanks for viewing and sharing your thoughts.
Terrible camera work. Out of focus and distorted. Get a batter camera for God's sake.
Sharing, it's not the camera, and I thought that at 1st too. UA-cam would ask, "Would you like to stabilize your video?" DO NOT CLICK THE YES BUTTON! Lesson learned. Now I'll go back to videoing cars and you enjoy that Beatles music.
Nothing original here just a new copy wtf?
Hi Dog Bones, Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you enjoy :-) Lou
Lou Costabile nice positive wording. Nice job
So not the real care. then who cares
I guess a few people do?
Fake
