This guy owns at least four of the cars that shaped my fascination with custom vehicles when i was growing up in the 60's 1. The Red Baron 2. The Monkees GTO Wagon 3. The Munster Coach 4. Dragula I was a poor little kid in Spokane Valley in the 60's but was able to go to World of Wheels, Autorama and HotWheels tours. I could not sleep in the nights leading up to the Car Shows and it took weeks to regain my normal sleep patterns after. It made my childhood perfection out of what most would think was a horrible time. So good to see and hear them again!
Used to love going to The World Of Wheels. Went to one in about 1980 I believe in Boston. What a show. Paul Revere and The Raiders as Musical guests, Adam West in full costume with The Batmobile speaking and signing autographs and The King Mr. Barris roaming the floor with this great jacket on festooned with patches of all his creations talking with anyone would cared to talk with him. What a great time. Still one of my fondest memories. He told me a great story of how he kitted out a motor home for Elvis. He had built the drivers seat to fit Elvis' body perfectly by taking a mold of him sitting. Elvis asked George to take a "test drive" with him. They didn't come back for three days!

It also had eddie munsters bike. I dont know who owned the place or what happened to everything once it closed. They also had concerts i seen vanhalen play there once. Curious about the history of the place if anyone knows
Just the fact The Munsters had these wild creations, (and Eddie's Go-Kart, which is not featured here) instantly makes the series cooler than The Addams Family.
I have to say, growing up watching reruns of the Munsters I couldn’t help but fall in love with the family vehicle Herman’s Koach and Grandpa and Herman’s dragster Dragula! Both of these vehicles are iconic and they definitely turn heads whenever they’re seen in a car show! I would love to own just one of these amazing vehicles! As always, your channel never disappoints and I look forward to watching another great video! Cheers!
This is so cool. The art and craft combined with the Hollywood nostalgia make theese legendary automobiles. I sold my 67 galaxie 500 so my daughter could go to school. I love watching this video. Thank you.

That is one cool clip, thank God for George Barris, the look & sound of the Munster Coach is surpurb !!!. Takes me back to my childhood and seeing these beasts of hot Rods on TV in the 60's. Thanks for making this clip.
Those shows in the 60s were so good, even 1 or 2 season shows are still rotated in syndication today. Can you imagine, The Honeymooners only ran for 1 season? Yet, it's so great, people think it ran for years. Imagine a 1 or 2 season show from today even being picked up in syndication, let alone able to be seen year round? Just not worth it because people aren't going to watch as apposed to 60s shows that are loved by young and old alike. No profanity, no immorality, nudity, sex, or violence. Just goes to show you that good wholesome entertainment is always going to outshine the opposition. That said, one of the things I remember having tears rolling down my face from laughter, was when Herman stuck his feet thru the floorboards to stop the car. I don't remember the episode, but I just couldn't stop laughing as smoke was coming off his feet.
I am 70 now and grew up loving the Munsters! It was years before I learned that Lilly (Yvonne De Carlo) was a young movie actress & starlette before she did the Munsters. I found that hard to believe.
Great bit of TV history. Love the monster coach. That coffin race car looks somewhat scary because it puts the family jewels to close to danger for my comfort!
Not a lot. ALL of the slingshot dragsters were like that. And the clutch plate was between your feet. Don Garlits made the first viable rear engine dragster after almost losing his feet when a clutch exploded, and sawed his car in half. Others tried, before "Big", but he made the one that worked.
That thing is BAD ASS! In the early 80's George Barris auctioned off all the original cars in his collection and my family and I went. They had the original Munster Coach and Dragula, all the cars from Happy Days, the movie Death Race, "The Car" from the movie of the same name, the Monkee Mobile. Somewhere I have pictures of me as a kid with all these cars. Very cool video
I've rode in the Munster Koach 2 times now and LOVED it and got to sit in the Dragula when Butch "Eddie" and his wife came to town to see me and my husband.
Leave it to George Barris to build a car that can bring a smile to everyone's face. Those cars were featured in one of my favorite episodes, the guy that Grandpa was racing stole his parachute and Herman had to grab the car and stop it by dragging his feet, his shoes were smoking it was hilarious. Also the next day after Herman got his car back they show him driving and the engine falls out and is left running on the street as he continues on.
The 1964 Dragula Coffin Dragster was sold for $430,000 on Mecum Auctions Kissimee 2022, aired March 14. The thing that geeked me out was that S1E36 Hot Rod Herman May 27, 1965 was airing simultaneously. I paused the auction, watched the full episode on Cozi TV, then time traveled 57 yrs to the present and watched the current auction. It was eerie and quite fascinating. Coincidence?!?

I remember this show when i was a kid😎👍 i remember when grandpa built the coffin car😁 good ol nostalgic memories that come back seeing these two Munster vehicles again!
Pretty cool to see this in color, all of the details and in motion! Once of my childhood movie car favorites. It would be really cool if some built a modern version that was inspired by this design. Not sure I would go too far or too fast in this movie car classic.
Watching the old TV show, I had no idea there was this much gold color on either car, since it was in black and white when I watched it. Of course, I had no idea the Munsters were GREEN (except for Marilyn) until they broadcast in color. I never liked the green skin color.
He was saying that the Koach was baffled, but even though it was baffled it was still pretty loud It was loud enough to make ask, "Are you sure this has baffles on exhaust??, because it sure doesn't sound like it's got baffled exhaust
@@michaeldavis5775 That's a damn shame. They'd definitely be worth some coin now, not to mention the nostalgia value. That's typically the way it goes through, unfortunately.
Really warms my heart to see that someone is taking care of these cars that I grew up watching on TV. What a wonderful Era that was!

Oh wow! I have been dragging the Munsters Drag-U-La 1966 AMT Model with me for 54 years! It was a Christmas Present from my father!
Awesome!
I wish I still had mine.
Didn’t have the model but I had the die cast sure wished I’d kept it
I love those old TV hot rods and customs. An era gone by that seemed so much fun.
Grandpa Munster....the greatest hotrodder to ever live! Haha

It actually had some good story lines.
Good writing, and actors who could pull it off.

So the question I have is this if this is Munster coach and Dragula number three. Where is Munster coach and Dragula number one at?
We need a whole show on all the other cars he has! There's some real automotive history in his showroom!
I'll second that!
I Agree, would make a good show.
