I had no expectations of working on a Diablo in the parking lot of the Portofina Inn, but when you are around Ed Bolian you never know what’s going to happen.
well its kinda always been like that, as that's the same place where they filmed the cannonball run, well gumball rally, where they brought two geniune ferrari daytona spiders and a proper shelby cobra
one of which was driven by Raul Julia, so the spirt of crazyness lives on
It may be controversial, the modified diablo actually had some cool Japanese mods going for it. I liked the state it was in, a yakuza relic.
Team Anija is legendary. They push boundaries.!
It genuinely looked cool, and had the story to go with it.. bit of a pity to undo the wing, bumper delete and the crazy exhaust
The most yakuza detail is the licence plate. There is no reservation for licence plate number in Japan. Any repeating numbers / spaces are mostly yakuza cars.
License plates with 3's are HIGHLY desirable aswell. To the point when the number comes up they will cut in line and TAKE the plate from whoever might be checking out and allow them the plate.
This might be the craziest car I have ever bought but I love it WAY more than I expected to.
Enjoy it how you want it, it's your joy, but have you given any thought to a period correct, genuine Anija build being worth a lot more someday?

I liked how it looked from japan , why go back to stock and look like every other Diablo ? We are about the same age I really would like to know
Thanks to everyone for taking me along on the roadtrip to Vegas, I had an absolutely awesome time hanging out in Gloss it and helping out on the Diablo, it's a stunning car and went through an even more stunning transformation while there. I can't honestly put into words how much I love going on car adventures with my friends.
That bumper delete and exhaust looked slick.
Some of the Anija bits will have to stay. What should the end result of this project be?

We got something on three
So a guy I knew had shaved door handles on his body dropped, extended cab s10. Locked the key fob in it... I grabbed the antenna off my own Chevy Silverado, and started fishing. The truck was sitting there running so he was starting to get antsy, and he walked off to the edge of the parking lot. About the time I was able to push the button on the key fob I looked up and he was throwing a rock through the passenger side window. The rock smashed the window , hit the dash and smashed the head unit too......
And he looks up as I opened the driver side door.....
Sometimes people don't think effectively in a stressful situation.

@@jasonconrad4314 Ahh, someone who failed comprehension. Ed mentioned he couldn't fit in the first Diablo, (hence one of the reasons to sell it) but thankfully he was able to fit in the "new" one for the drive from Long Beach to Vegas.

Diablo may be my favorite Lambo. I know it was a rough example, but the only thing cooler is a Japanese modified one. You should do a collab with a Japanese tuner to now bring the stock Diablo back to Japanese tuner spec lol. Nowadays some of those lights would be diffused LEDs and look a lot better anyway. Cool car either way.
Looking forward to the video on this car! A shame the Anija mods (for the most part) won’t stay. But this car is beautiful stock regardless.

I was out in Arizona back in 1999 and bought an original '73 Chevy orange/white Heavy Half square body at an auction for $1,500. Got in it and drove it ALL the way back to Pflugerville, Texas, aka home. My only issue was a pin hole in the upper radiator hose at the hose clamp that I simply got out of the way by cutting the hose end off and kept on my merry way. . . . LOVED that damn truck!

it’s good + to a degree necessary to keep the car stock , the car is insecure enough if u reach 200mph , on a level like that it’s not a toy any more , (‘til today I drove never faster than a 140 ) (I’m working on it) I own one since 3years
I had a wreck or was hit while parked actually so the rental car they gave was a like a 03 ford taurus. I think it was a nice vehicle and enjoyed driving it.

For some reason it makes me laugh that your philosophy of buying a vehicle (or not) is a "terrible example of a really cool car" 😂 for at least some of your collection . It makes it so much more fun and adds such a hilarious story to why you have the car/how you got it/etc.
