On this occasion we managed to get permission from the owner to explore the place however he has asked us to keep his contact details private so unfortunately we cannot give them out.
We also can't stress enough that the place is patrolled by active security and if you do visit without permission and are asked to leave then please don't give them grief as they are only trying to do a job.
The park was opened in 1995 by a company based in London and has since been through the hands of showman Raymond Codona to its current owner, Henk Bembom's Parkware Ltd. Bembom took over the park in 2002 and invested £5m during his first year there, followed by an additional £2m in the second. Bembom continued to bring new rides and attractions to the park each year, including another £2m worth of investment in 2007. In winter 2006, Parkware moved all their operations and ride stock to Loudoun from their previous storage buildings in Margate.
In September 2010 it was announced that the park had closed, Bembom stating that it was "no longer economically viable." There are no clear indications as to the future use of the site, whether the current owners intend to sell the business on as a 'going concern' or if they intend to use the site for other purposes.
As of February 2011 a number of rides were for sale, including Twist n' Shout, Goldrush, Barnstomer, Wacky Worm, Crows Nest, Freefall and Jammy Dodgems.

This reminds me so much of a theme park in my town that I visited often as a kid with my parents-but now gone! It shut down in 1975 so, unfortunately, very little to get video of-but I might just go out there and check it out! Another great production video! Thumbs up!
remember this very well used to go here as a kid and finally found some Scottish urbex on UA-cam thanks guys!
I've had many memories there when I was in p7 we used to always go to loudon castle for an end of term trip I'm only 15 but I went every year from p1
Thank you for the commentary, really gives the video a more educational spin.
Thanks, it is really sad to see it closed like this but I hope more of the rides find a new owner.
I remember going here every year as a kid, some fond memories 😀
Another great video and sad to see the demise of something so many people enjoyed.
Both sad and beautiful how you filmed this.
Thank you for showing this video it holds a lot of memories for me as I've always visited there even before my kids were born and when they were born we used to visit a few times a year! Very sad that this had closed down 😒
Yeah it is really sad all these things left where so many memories were made.
Interesting short history--this is the future to be... Thanks Mark.
Thanks to you guys i got into photography!! You inspired me! thanks!
Looks like you can feel the memories of thousands all over. I'm imagining dads and sons in the dodgems in particular.
Thanks jack rides, that's amazing to hear good luck with your photography :)
I hate seeing amusement parks become abandoned. It's a sad thing to see. Great commentary.
Thanks Doug, it really is a great place to visit it's just sad that it's now closed. I certainly will have more videos up soon :)
Thanks littlemovies1, I really hope it isn't the future but several places do seem to be closing recently.
Yeah theme parks are special places where there was so much happiness, to see it lying empty with no future is really sad to see.
Haha yeah it was great to have a look inside the walled section Dazza, the crazy golf course was completely overgrown. I'd love for it to re-open but it looks very unlikely.
I didn't even know this place closed, was a great place!
Yeah it's a shame to see it left like this Derek, hopefully the rides get sold and can be enjoyed once again.
ok honestly, I don't understand about 96% of what you say but I love your accent! I'm not a native speaker, so don't hold it against me :D love what you did ... watched the one without the commentary yesterday in bed and couldn't sleep. Something about abandoned places that creeps me out! Not as scary with the commentary, so thanks!
Thanks. Like your commentary. I miss the Scottish accent - the maternal side of my family is Morrison, migrated to U.S. N.E. from just outside Aberdeen. Love the Scots and have a few friends there although haven't visited since the '90s.
Great job! Give us more commentaries?
Thanks DeathNoteNear38, I'm glad you liked it but as you say it is sad to see it like this.
THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD IN ONE VIDEO 💔💔💔
Yeah it's a shame to see them left when people have happy memories of them. Thanks for commenting.
I really miss the park it was great
Thanks t4705mb6, I'll have more commentary videos up in the future and good to speak to another Scottish descendant :)
for those wondering, the amusement park may have closed due to one noted accident involving a new employer who was left alone to operate the 'the rat ride' the empolyer mark blackwood sadly died due to the coaster getting stuck he tried pushing the coaster to get it to move but in the process got his hand stuck and fell to his death.
Sad. Fond memories of the park.
I remember going on that tractor on the first shot. Happy times
Did you go bowling? ;P
how do you go about getting a supervised visit to a pace like this would be interesting to see this in person?
I use to go there when I was little. I remember one time I sneaked into the actual castle ruins and then got chased out by a worried security guard who heard me xD I always found it odd that they never made the actual castle that was there an attraction. I'm sure people would have wanted to visit it.
Apparently, just from local rumours, the rides will be sold on, and the castle rebuilt and opened as a 5star hotel. No doubt with a link to the Gowf Club along the road
I realise I'm years late lol, but it's unlikely the castle will ever be redeveloped since it's a category A listed building
Thanks for saying so NinjaCthulhu.
this was always fun
Cool video!
i went here every year on holiday, i was little when it closed and i went to scotland on holiday and kept saying when can we go to the castle? we never went that summer because it was closed ; (
Great video do you think that with some rumours that I have been hearing do you think that the louden Castle theme park will reopen one day it is a shame because it was an great theme park the best one in Scotland hope that it will reopen one day
Haha I would have loved to have seen more inside the castle but it looked very unsafe, apparently one side of it is just hanging with no structural support which will inevitably fall down at some point.
I like this video as it has good information given by the commentary.
I am very much into the whole Urban Exploration scene and i too hate it when people go to these places and just mess about, steal or break things, such a shame that they ruin the history and what the place looks like and so on.
Yeah many people have good memories of the place, it's a shame to see it as it is.
I went to Louden Castle many many times it was such a lively place its such a shame to see it like this
I spoke to I presume the person you're talking about that currently owns the park, we spoke about what was happening with the rides, they are being sold, and they can't quite figure out what to do with the future of the castle itself, they've talked about a hotel, but it's finding the money for it. I would love to see the park reopened, but as he said. People weren't coming. The park was costing more to run that it was to keep open. Seemed like such a lovely guy and it was quite sad to hear him talk about the park like it was a dead relative. He just kindly asked us to leave, which is understandable. I seen some of the damage to the property like the buggy that had been raided for parts. Awful.
Does anyone know who to ask for permission to look round the park?
Is that free fall tore at Pleasurewood Hills?
Shame it closed, looks more fun than M&D's
Thanks I enjoy the theme park videos more but they in a way make me sad
Is it still possible to access park for photos if we get permission from security please?
yess!! about time as you probably know been waiting on someone getting in the inside of the walls, im amazed at how much its actually changed, sometimes i wish i was a millionaire i'd buy this place and re-open it in no time, had so many great memories there best one was stealing one of my "enemies" girls behind his back aha!, as for closing the credit crunch hit hard but if they were not so greedy on admission prices and had a bit more going like cars n rides they'd have more revenue in no tim
Nah I think it being turned into a different park is quite slim unfortunately
Do the park security still work there?
What's the ride at 3:19 ?
can i ask who you contacted to get a permission visit? I'm a photography student and looking to take pictures for an open brief i have coming up
+Emma Hamilton It was Henk Bembom the former owner although I believe it is now in the hands of someone else so might be more difficult to get a permission visit now.
+Abandoned Scotland still henk bembom who owns it finally got permission after contacting msps and council etc cause i need it for a uni project. thanks though 😊
How did you get a permission visit? Just Curiosity.
ma da's best mate used to work there
Nice, you should ask to see if he has any stories to tell from his time there.
This place will probably never reopen as he sold it on to a private company
Me and my friend were here today we had a look about and took pictures but the security weren't happy at all they were very rude so if you go in make sure you get permission and don't sneak in 😂😂
Dynamic Gaming did some german guy tell you to fuck off as well 😂
Were is this
It's at Loudoun Castle
