    It's too bad that they are only using a cordless vacuum. I know some people are not mechanically inclined but that was such an easy fix. Great customer service making the best recommendations and honoring the customer's wishes. I have one of these in my collection and really like it.

    My dad bought this machine new for $250 in early 2008. It lasted until the end of 2013, when the motor started to die. It did clog a few times when we had it and it was a nightmare to unclog. Other than that, we didn’t really have any other issues with the machine. It did clean extremely well and we didn’t ever have an issue with the direct drive motor itself. However I think the non direct drive machines lasted longer. I have my grandma’s non direct drive Progressive upright from 2002 that has long outlasted it.

      Thanks for watching and commenting! I agree, the non-direct drive machine were more reliable just due to their simplicity. For some reason, dust bypass was always an issue with these particular models (see all the dirt in the bag chamber). That all ends up in the motor chamber, so motor issues aren't rare within a decade. However, that can be avoided by using the HEPA bags and regularly changing the motor pre-filter. Cheers!

    My Intuition “check vacuum bag” light stays on. I changed to a new bag, checked all filters, and checked the big hose for plug. Light still on. Finally turned it over and checked the short bottom part of the hose to the rotating brush and found a big plug in same spot yours was plugged. I had worked on this problem for hours and gave up. Found your video and found the answer. The check vacuum bag light is now off. Thank you so much.
    However, now my brush will not spin. I cannot find the reason. Can you help?

      Baklash, sorry for the delayed response... I was on vacation.
      If they brush isn't spinning, there is a reset button on top of the nozzle. Click that and it should start working again if the clog was jamming up the brushroll. Hope that helps!

    I have one that recently powered down the motor but the lights are still on. There are no clogs filter is new, bag about 1/3 full. I'm guessing it might be a fuse or the switch. When it powered down it sounded just like when I turn the switch off. Could you give me any hints about which these machines might have problems with. I've had it since 2005 as a refurbished vacuum through a dealer. It's been a good vacuum. Kenmore intuition truehepa.

      Thanks for the question! It could be a few things based on the fact it isn't clogged. It could be a short in the cord, so I would test that. I would also test the switch. If it is neither of those it is likely the fuse which is located in the motor compartment. Best of luck!

    Would this type of clog spew dust around the house? What would cause that from this vacuum cleaner?

    • @HouseOfVacuums
      @HouseOfVacuums  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting!
      It could certainly cause dirt to be spit back out from the vacuum. Almost anything can cause a clog like a crumpled piece of paper, a splinter of wood, a leaf, etc. These particular machines just tend to be more prone to it given the long length of 360 degree hose turn the debris has to make it through.
      Cheers!

    Why is it here? Dude thought u are running a charity repair shop not a business lol. 🤣
    I actually picked up a kenmore direct drive 2 days ago with a clog, crappy hepa filter and wrong type of bag. U shoulda seen the hepa filter it was filled with black material(carbon)? Anyhow, picked up 3 new filters from the thrift store where I bought vacuum along with the bags and now it works like a champ. The buttons are neato on the handle and everything. My only complaint is that it is heavy and kinda hard to push. Do u think the height setting is too high if its difficult to push?

    • @HouseOfVacuums
      @HouseOfVacuums  Рік тому

      Thanks for the question! If it is hard to push, my initial thought would be that the nozzle is too low. When it is too low it will suction cup to the floor and make it hard to push. Give that a shot, hopefully it helps!

      @@HouseOfVacuums I figured it out I had it on second lowest setting with max suction. Raised it up one notch and adjusted suction to low and it works fine now. When I push carpet button it maxes out suction and brush speed. I'll admit the learning curve is somewhat steep on this vacuum.

    I don’t understand maybe it’s just me but why are some people so tight when it comes to spending a few bucks as I purchased a top of the line Kenmore canister pet vacuum cleaner even though I have no pets I vacuum my apartment once to 2 times a week and replace the cloth filter bag and motor pre filter and exhaust filter once a year and this vacuum cleaner takes out every bits of debris but people are so tight they won’t even do this but yet when it comes to buying something stupid like a new clothes or shoes spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars they don’t seem to have a problem but a $10. 00 filter it’s a big deal breaker I can breathe much better due to basically no dirt or dust in my apartment

      I don't get it either. Often, I think people just don't know there are better options out there. But as I've always said, buy once cry once!

    Is to much to ask vacuum the hepa filter you already have the vacuum out poor service 😕

      Hi Ivan! I usually include a verbal disclaimer in my videos, but when a customer drops off their vacuum and it has an old filter we always offer to change it AND to service the machine. If they say no, then we will not do that work per their wishes.
      So it's not poor service, it is excellent customer service because we have already given them all the options and let them choose what they want. Trust me, if customers would let me I would service and replace the filters in every vacuum, but we have to charge for that. Thanks!
