Yknow, since you like the nostalgia posts, I'll give mine. Martin is best boy and I just absolutely loved that he was voiced by Sean Bean, so I never took him to Weynon Priory. I had a 400 hour save where I did everything in the game (except unpriestly things or the main quest) while Martin was my follower. I never progressed the main quest after that, and I just kind of let the save stay, never finished that playthrough. And although Oblivion is my favorite of the series, I don't think I can do another playthrough because it just wouldn't feel the same. I'm happy that I left off on a high note, even though never finishing a playthrough would usually bother me.

who doesn't want 3 hours of walking into a corner, that's what VOD channels are for after all! to listen to people walk into corners in the background while you do something else like playing a game only to not feel so alone and make double sure to never ever be alone with your thoughts
Honestly, the Grey Prince has a lot of fascinating lore behind him and I hate that the game pretends like 80% of it doesn't exist at face value. You can just meet him, kill him, and never know anything else is going on there.
What do you mean you hate it? That's honestly the beauty of it, the fact that he's actually a really deep character and some people might just not find that out! It really is the problem with modern Bethesda that the whole experience just feels spoon-fed, you can't fuck anything up either I'm on accident or on purpose without breaking the game to do so I loved Skyrim and Oblivion was my very first elder scrolls game but morrowind is honestly where it's at, simply because you can fuck yourself over and make large swaths of the game uncompletable, and the game doesn't fucking stop you or throw up a big heads up to say "hey there was 15 hours of lore here!" The most you get is effectively a "you might regret that later, you might not"
@@KitKatHexe yeah exactly, that's the issue with companies like rockstar, you basically can't miss shit unless you blindfold yourself, even then many game companies prefer to tell rather than show, there is absolutely nothing you can miss in modern games no matter how you play
@@baltejvirk3303 if you like lore that requires you to search for it you might like from soft lore, probably comparable to morrowind in terms of lore maybe even better
@@KitKatHexe Yeah, but Oblivion is built in a really hand-holdy nature, so people playing it are more inclined to assume its just going to outright point to things for you, especially as far as an NPC you're already talking to. Morrowind - which is my favourite game as well - makes it pretty clear early on that you aren't going to be outright shown much of anything and that digging deep is a requirement if you want to see the lore. So I was moreso saying that more people are likely to meet the Grey Prince and know he exists, but also not realize he has much lore because they're more likely to assume if he did, the game would point them at least in some level in the direction of a sidequest. Whereas in a game like Morrowind, you really have to go out of your way to even find NPCs and talk to them. Games like Oblivion and Skyrim make it easy to rush past dialogue and still progress in quests because of the waypoint marker. So I guess in a way, you could argue I prefer the way games like Morrowind make it both a little more difficult to get around easily and require you actually acknowledge the lore to progress in the game.
The arena fight with the argonians made me rage quit my first character when I was a kid. I whipped my controller so hard it knocked out the screen of my bedroom window and landed in the yard... good times lol
When I was playing Oblivion for the first time, I was afraid to leave the city for a while and was trying to make something of myself first. As I didn't know the game well, I was mostly looting junk items and plants and selling them for a couple of coins to merchants until I stumbled upon Thoronir's quest.
Oblivion came out a few weeks before I graduated high school. I played it nonstop from when I graduated high school to my second year of college. It was such a fun game. Never beat it though. Lol
Immediately after wall glitching through, use the old paintbrush glitch to platform jump back up to the door. That should work for completing the quest.
Love your videos as always! And what a great nostalgic one. I loved this game as a kid, and went back to play it recently because of videos like this. It's terrible, but also just as great as I remember it.
We don’t want whole clips of the grind, but it looks like you already fully understand how important it is to use the footage of it. Even for just a second. It provides us, the audience, with some visual stimuli to match with what you’re saying. More enjoyable that way.
A friend of mine bought Oblivion and stopped for awhile cause he somehow thought the Imperial City was the only area in the game and he didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t a big rpg fan and the game came free with his Xbox 360 which he was new to at the time. He didn’t realise he could move across the rest or the map in the menu. When I fired it up and fast travelled to Skingrad his mind was blown, and then he proceeded to become a massive elder scrolls fan. :)
Getting ready to watch this and thinking "If the sewers, entire island, and arena are all fair game, the Imperial City offers entire small game all by itself."
As someone who recently finished a complete play through of Oblivion (last time, I swear!) let me thank you for your sacrifice in grinding AND being region locked just to entertain us. Just FYI: The vampire's name isn't Jakben Incel...it's Jakben Imble, y'know - like the Mother Goose rhyme "Jack be nimble". It's one of the silliest things Bethesda stuck in Oblivion.
I've never played Oblivion. Only played Morrowind and Skyrim for different reasons. Love the old graphics of Morrowind and picking flowers/ catching butterflies in Skyrim. But you, nerbit, and RIP mitten squad, do make me think of giving it a try.
So what can you actually do? Main quest: the tutorial. Also you can glitch into the ending. Thieves guild: you can find them and complete the first 2 quests. Dark brotherhood: you can get the quest to join, but not progress it. The Arena: fully playable. Side quests: you can start Order of the Virtuous Blood, Origin of the Gray Prince, The Collector, and maybe Vampire Cure, and complete Buy a House in the Imperial City, Horse Armor, Imperial Corruption, and Unfriendly Competition. An Unexpected Voyage is there but immediately takes you away from the city. Master Training quests: you can start Heavy Armor Training and Security Training, and complete Armorer Training and Sneak Training.
Omg, just typical you post the vid while im playing Oblivion ... only just started playing it again (and loving it) thanks to your awesome streams on twitch, keep up the awesomeness dude 😎👍
You actually can complete the Golden Galleon mission peacefully. Each member gives you a piece of information about the gang, like where the stash is, how many members, so on. Using that you can persuade your way to the captain, tricking them all into thinking you're a part of the gang and she'll peacefully surrender if you convince her as well. Fantastic mission.
Joov! I didn’t even know you were from Iowa until watching your Skyrim school of music video! I’m from eagle grove and it’s always cool to see a UA-camr I watch be from the cornfield region!
Technically through glitches you can beat the game by glitching into a hidden door to enter the Molag Bal cutscene. Edit: I meant Mehrunes Dagon, but you ended up doing that anyways lol.
@@VortexKiller2 If you use cheats, you can also use mehrunes damage spell against him and one shot him with it. If you do this, his entire body turns basically into liquid polygons, which you can stretch infinitely.

Oblivion was also my favourite when I was your age. If you haven’t played fallout new vegas I’d recommend giving it a go it’s really good
Thx
Proud to be a part of your road to 100k subscribers. You consistently put out quality content, you're very entertaining. Honestly, one of the best channels on UA-cam. Thanks for what you do, mate!
Running TS1 shopping music beneath the Agamir quest was absolute brilliance. My brain just broke from the nostalgia (yeah, I'm old).
No way joov I used to watch you when you had like under 1k when you would troll gmod rps which were funny af, I’m glad to see you made it out the trenches. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely amazing video, Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time, this was a blast to watch
Joov...
Joov.
People saying nice Fable OST and respects to em.
But I'm halfway in the video and I swear that is PS2 Bee Movie game OST. I seriously remembered that.
(And another. Wow)
Lol I was waiting for someone to say it!
who doesn't want 3 hours of walking into a corner, that's what VOD channels are for after all! to listen to people walk into corners in the background while you do something else like playing a game only to not feel so alone and make double sure to never ever be alone with your thoughts
It really is the problem with modern Bethesda that the whole experience just feels spoon-fed, you can't fuck anything up either I'm on accident or on purpose without breaking the game to do so
I loved Skyrim and Oblivion was my very first elder scrolls game but morrowind is honestly where it's at, simply because you can fuck yourself over and make large swaths of the game uncompletable, and the game doesn't fucking stop you or throw up a big heads up to say "hey there was 15 hours of lore here!" The most you get is effectively a "you might regret that later, you might not"
@@KitKatHexe yeah exactly, that's the issue with companies like rockstar, you basically can't miss shit unless you blindfold yourself, even then many game companies prefer to tell rather than show, there is absolutely nothing you can miss in modern games no matter how you play
You guys are all dark souls players, not skyrim
The Fable music may be my favorite part of this video. Thank you for unlocking nostalgia I forgot I had
Back in 2007 i had a save where i had lured around 100 scamps into the rat-lady in anvils basement.
Peak gaming
You know what you have to do. Can you play Morrowind without leaving Seyda Neen?
Nearly finished my first ever playthrough of oblivion, just have to do the shivering isles 😍
Oblivion came out a few weeks before I graduated high school. I played it nonstop from when I graduated high school to my second year of college. It was such a fun game. Never beat it though. Lol
i love hes playing oblivion with the fable music in the background
we have been blessed on this fine easter sunday
Happy Easter!
He is risen. Sadly, he's also stuck in the Imperial City. Too bad...
19:03 the Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction theme. Nice.
Edit: Comment made before you acknowledged it's use in video.
was really looking forward to this one!! was fun to occasionally pop into streams, excited to see how it comes together!! :]
Immediately after wall glitching through, use the old paintbrush glitch to platform jump back up to the door. That should work for completing the quest.
Ooo for the Thieves Guild right? Brilliant idea!
@@Joov Yes! That's it!
Your videos always help me through hard days keep it up homie
Hope you’re holding up alright. Wishing you well
Absolutely earned a sub for the Mercenaries main theme usage.
I love your descriptions, they are just as good as the videos lmao. Great job man, keep it up, and take all the time you need.
The Mercenaries music caught me off guard haha
A friend of mine bought Oblivion and stopped for awhile cause he somehow thought the Imperial City was the only area in the game and he didn’t know what to do.
He wasn’t a big rpg fan and the game came free with his Xbox 360 which he was new to at the time.
He didn’t realise he could move across the rest or the map in the menu.
When I fired it up and fast travelled to Skingrad his mind was blown, and then he proceeded to become a massive elder scrolls fan. :)
it was so fun being a part of these streams! awesome video, joov
Watching this after all of the vods from the stream was very cathartic, can’t wait to do the same with the next one!
9:34 This is the standard punishment for lollygagging in the Imperial City.
I haven’t heard “lollygagging” from anyone other than my parents. I was almost convinced they made it up.
@@caracalcontinuum3118 I don't know too much about Oblivion, but guards in Skyrim will tell you to "quit your lollygagging."
07:39 That Sims 1 build music you've put in the background fits surprisingly well.
Mercenaries: PoD OST got you a sub.
My childhood in a theme song right there.
I hate how if you tell the gray prince his history he just wants to commit suicide, but if you fight him he never finds out his history
It's nice to see MockyD's family enjoying themselves in the arena🤎 so wholesome
Omg, just typical you post the vid while im playing Oblivion ... only just started playing it again (and loving it) thanks to your awesome streams on twitch, keep up the awesomeness dude 😎👍
My instant thoughts on all of these types of videos "well. you can until you have to leave and go somewhere else"
The mercenaries themes are so fitting 19:00
You actually can complete the Golden Galleon mission peacefully. Each member gives you a piece of information about the gang, like where the stash is, how many members, so on. Using that you can persuade your way to the captain, tricking them all into thinking you're a part of the gang and she'll peacefully surrender if you convince her as well. Fantastic mission.
I was just about to eat dinner and crack open a cold one! Thank Talos for the video.
Love finding smaller Channels! Keep up the hard work broski :D
10:16 I just love how his voice carries over during transition.
I'm playing oblivion right now! I've been waiting for another one of these videos :D
by azura-By Azura-BY AZURA! ITS THE G R A N D CHAMPION!
What about play it just in the Shivering Isles? Probably would be fun.
the video starts with a Fable ost. I like your videos and now I appreciate you even more
Joov! I didn’t even know you were from Iowa until watching your Skyrim school of music video! I’m from eagle grove and it’s always cool to see a UA-camr I watch be from the cornfield region!
It's awesome that that you can literally beat the game in this as well. Paintbrush staircase goes hard
Martin Septim really took the initiative on this one.
you gotta love oblivion on fable music XD
Man, that Mercenaries OST is bringing back so many memories rn.
Technically through glitches you can beat the game by glitching into a hidden door to enter the Molag Bal cutscene.
Edit: I meant Mehrunes Dagon, but you ended up doing that anyways lol.
Man commented before watching the video
@@harveytomos4959 my confidence was my downfall and thus I lost my gamer card.
@@VortexKiller2
If you use cheats, you can also use mehrunes damage spell against him and one shot him with it. If you do this, his entire body turns basically into liquid polygons, which you can stretch infinitely.
@@lordkrythic6246 Mehrunes Da-gone
So when is "Can you play The Shivering Isles, while never leaving New Sheoth"
I love that you used the Mercenaries Sound track.
I get easily attached to content creators who like very similar things as me. While I adore Oblivion greatly, what really sold me was the Mercenaries Playground of Destruction music! Such an underappreciated game!
I’ve been really enjoying your channel and challenge series. Keep up the good work!
