- Title says it all really. I've had a few enquiries and suggestions recently about making Urns, not made one before so thought I would to show what could be done. Will try and get this on the website over the next couple of days, probably large enough to take the ashes of a large dog.

That is absolutely gorgeous! I did realize it was an urn, I just thought it was a great place for died lentils or pasta. Great job. I love the silver you added.

When turning the metal, does it blunt the tools quicker or make no difference?
Makes no difference with the Pewter, it's softer than many of the woods. Some of the hardwoods have relatively high amounts of silica, which can blunt a tool in no time at all. Many woods you will find other impurities that will blunt your tool. I'll go now before I bore myself let alone you 😁

Looks really nice...too bad it is too small to be an urn. Well, at least for a full-sized adult. A child's cremains would fit, as would partial remains from an adult. I work in a mortuary. Urns are generally about 11"x9" and about 200 cubic inches.
