I have never commentated on any turning video before but I must in this instance simply you magnificently gave back a dead part of a tree it's new life simply by enhancing the beauty that was waiting to be released. Well done and thank you for inspiring me.
This was outstanding. I was freaking out the entire time watching the sketchy parts but I'm glad you managed so well. It's an outstanding piece. I would sell that for way too much money and I would love it for the rest of my existence if I owned it. It's a truely inspiring piece of art.
Amazing that you can take a piece of wood that 95% of people would throw on the firewood pile & think nothing of it & turn it into a work of Art. Absolutely stunning. Don from South Aust.
That is absolutely amazing. Great job and yes we do have an amazing God. He certainly was with you when you fell. May He continue to keep you in His hand. God bless and stay safe 🙏🙏👍👍
I just viewed this amazing craftsman for the first time & actually skipped through a lot,due to not having enough time to watch the entire video, but his craftsmanship and your comment makes me want to come back and watch more of his beautiful work! God Bless All!!!
This piece is so wonderfully different. I love it! I'm so glad you kept the handles on the bowl itself. This gives it the utterly uniqueness when it's finished. Well done my friend❤
All I can say is wow....I've never seen anyone take any piece of wood and turn it into a masterpiece....well done David.always entertaining to watch a master at work.
Got lost in time and space watching this. Didn't know exactly what shape you was forming till much later in the video. The final result surprised me a lot, It's lovely.
By far one of my favorite pieces all of your pieces are beautiful but this one stands out. Glad you’re healing from your injury two years ago my brother did the same broke his back and shoulder but there is an amazing God he is still with me and I couldn’t be more thankful. Such beautiful work and you make it so relaxing that it is addictive
I cannot believe that is the same wood from the beginning of this video! You have truly showed your talent and creativity in this one piece of art! I love it. Absolutely incredible! Bravo!
I can't believe that I hit the like button when I first viewed this video & didn't comment. Ah well, that's old age for you. When you started turning & then stopped to rip all the 'crud' off of the piece I began to wonder if there would be anything left for you to turn. Fortunately there was & what a beautiful piece it turned out to be. The grain, the colour & the final form are stunning & a great finish to 'top it off'. Take my hat off to you mate with this Artistic piece. Cheers, Don from South Aust.
Again! So beautiful...I think this one is my favorite one. God blessed u with such wonderful talent. It's amazing how u can take something so plain and make something so beautiful. Thank u for sharing all your gorgeous work. God bless Take care!
David know you are grateful, your work is just inspiring. Black cherry, I am new turner but that wood is so difficult, when turned green cracks so easily, I am trying anything to prevent cracking as it is just beautiful wood. We have lots of it in New Jersey one of the first species to sprout in abandon farms but grain is awesome. Wishing you wellness and thank you for educating us.
Wow! Another amazing piece! I forgot how much I loved woodworking class in middle school and the lathe was by far my favorite! Was you is mesmerizing & relaxing all at once! So happy I found your channel
Stunning! It is as if you and the blank are communicating with each other, to bring out the true beauty of each piece. This piece is the result of that 'conversation.' One of my summer-time pleasures is taking a day-trip up the Maine coast towards Acadia. I stop at places that catch my eye...pottery, basketry, woodworking...anything from local craftspeople. Seeing the output of true artists is inspiring (and humbling!) Maybe some day, I'll stumble upon your place!
What everyone said David.... I was afraid those “wings” weren’t going to make it. You’re such an amazing artist! Glad you’re healing nicely. Thanks again for sharing your skills. God bless.
I keep updating myself with your magnificent works of art. It is a luxury to be able to observe how you slowly shape the wood, turning it into an exquisite and very beautiful object. Congratulations again.👍🌹🌹
I'm so glad you're back Mr. Adamsen. Your talent, creativity, and execution is off the charts. You are honestly one of the turners that inspired me to start turning myself. Thanks for another great video.
Well David my friend you were able to take a piece of very almost decaying , punky cherry and turn it into something extremely beautiful! Although you scare the crap out of me at times doing those deep undercuts with your hands!!! Lol!!!😁 ... with that being said , you created a very beautiful abstract piece of art!!! from nature. As usual great thought and design process. Loved the base you made for it cuz even that little detail brings it too life ! Great job!!!😁👍👍... just watch the HANDS!!! John Miller Custom Woodturnings
Thank you so much John! This was a tough learning process since each little cut around those wings could have drastically changed the outcome or lost a bulk of the natural edge. The hand handled it just fine I think, so praise God for that. I hope you are well! Cheers!
WOW!! I looked at that log when you started and had to wonder to myself, "WTF is he thinking", but man, you definitely had a vision and brought it to be. What an absolutely beautiful piece, very Salvadore_dali_esque to me.
Besides the enjoyment of watching your beautiful work with a cup of my morning coffee, I love how you ended your video with the lights being turned out in your workshop. Nice ending. You’re very artistic.
That's art gallery, if not museum, worthy. You worked that hunk of junk wood to its utmost. You really know your wood characteristics and showed off the grain like a maestro!
That's the stuff. I love the black cherry, even though it drives me crazy trying to cut it sometimes, with the super soft parts amid the hard stuff, and the cracks. I just worked on a piece like this with all the trapped branches and even after its done I still am fascinated by it. Nice job.
What i love about your work the most is the fact that you respect the wood enough to keep its personality if that makes sense. Everyone either turn there work into a bowl like shape or vase shaped you know what im saying? your work keeps that beautiful natural look and thats the feature that sets you apart from the rest.
Your woodturning skills are incredible and the finished product is absolutely stunning. I never thought turning something that shape would be possible, especially with cracks and rotten patches. I'm so glad you've recovered and can do woodturning again.
You look at a stump and decide I'm going to make melted wood today.. That was one crazy beautiful piece of artwork you did. Thank you for sharing and Have Blessed Day^^
LOVE the way you leave the wood so much in it's natural state. If I could afford it I would buy one of your pieces.
I have never commentated on any turning video before but I must in this instance simply you magnificently gave back a dead part of a tree it's new life simply by enhancing the beauty that was waiting to be released. Well done and thank you for inspiring me.
