- While at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre on Tuesday, we wanted to pay tribute to an iconic Irish band who made such a mark in music over 30 years ago at one of the worlds most iconic music venues.
This is "Still Haven't Found What Im Looking For" by the legendary U2.

This is by far the best rendition of this song. All the girls can do no wrong musically.
Such beautiful harmonies. I just love this rendition. Eabha's alto voice just pierces the soul. These ladies are such talent.
The key is definitely Eabha, her voice is like honey, liquid gold

I THINK THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG BY ANYBODY WHO PERFORMS THE SONG !!!!!!
OMG, I can't believe I haven't seen this before. IMHO, I like all of their voices, but for me, I like Éabha's slightly lower vocal register. Very soulful.
This song makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. Beautifully done by an absolutely amazing group.

I saw them at Red Rocks when they performed this and I have a cool story about this.
So they perform the show, and it's amazing. I'm not 100% certain how, but when they perform You Raise Me Up, the whole audience comes to the conclusion that that was the last song, and so we give them a standing ovation, which they definitely deserved. After that, they're like "Do you guys want one more?" and we're like, absolutely. So they perform The Parting Glass, which was also amazing. Another standing ovation. Then they talk about U2 for a bit (I don't remember their exact words) and they're like "We're going to perform a little something we put together today" and they perform this, and it's absolutely amazing. Yet another standing ovation.
In conclusion, they got not one, but three standing ovations that night, and all were very well deserved.
I've seen them twice (2008 and 2011/12, whenever they were in Australia) and You Raise Me Up is how normally their finale.
I was there too, but my mother was afraid that we would be trampled on the way down so we left right after the parting glass. I wish I was there to hear this.
Not necessarily. I was at the Dublin concert 2 weeks ago which was btw also recorded for DVD and PBS special, and they didn't do this song.

hi question why in many specials it seems they are lipsyncing. In believe they even used a few times a hand mic instead of there head mic. Why would u need another mic. Those are really live. U can see lisa lambe huging david downses there so like yes i did it well. Which she did! But why hug then and rest of the non hand mics but head mics she never looks that excited.

Because had they sang this exactly like the cd at the grammys people would all be over it.

They overlapped in 07 the concerts with the cd. Ecactly the same.
I really wanna hear them live. Breathing while dancing making a mistake. Ive not heared it while they sang on a concert with head mics...
Never.always the same. Just like the fiddle player who now is gone, she danced hairs on the violin no way she can sound exaxtly like the studio version. Some who where there say here mic thing wasnt even on. And when she was really live you could see it was on by a light.

So im sad because all members up till 2014 where exceptional at singing. Why even do it with a head mic and sound system that is so obviously prerecorded tracks..
I rather see them sit and sing or stand. Than to many choreo which makes them not able to sing.
And they want a perfect show.

Even michael jackson sang live with a hand mic (mic you also can put in a standard where u can stand behind and sing)
And when he did choreo he had a head mic and it wasnt live.
U can tell when something is not right..
But why would the girls go along with it?
Maybe thats why lisa lambe quit so quickly. She is now singing everywhere live.
Or chloe and lisa kelly. Same with them all live with hand mics. No big movements..

Eabha is a great singer. Mairead is a great singer. Susan (and her new replacement Megan Walsh) are both really, really good singers, and Tara is a fantastic violinist and a really wonderful person ! How can ANYONE not like and admire these women?! They're great ! (And beautiful too !).

Just to be in the same room with this group of spectacular women and men would be a privilege. Mairéad Carlin is a delicate beauty who hits those operatic high notes with such strength. Susan McFadden has the Broadway-style and rockabilly combination that energizes the entire audience. Eabha McMahon has it all - vocal range, power, nuance, and an inner beauty that shows in every sound she sings. Tara McNeill is a gifted musician, and what a delight to hear her sing in this piece! Ray Fean is simply a genius of percussion and one of the hardest-working drummers I've ever seen. Kudos as well to the accompanying musicians whose names I don't know. And I really miss the joyful dancing of Máiréad Nesbitt. Thank you all for making the musical world a better place.
Just wanna point out- next to Máiread is Ronan Scolard- don’t know if they were married at the time but they are now and he’s an awesome singer too!

I had to go back and listen to U-2 perform this... still like it. However sung in harmony the way you do with acoustic accompaniment you do this piece incredible justice! Your male counterparts in Celtic Thunder do it justice when they sing it unplugged.

I wonder how many "takes" there were to record and edit this. Note the man sitting in the control booth and people walking in the background. One moment they are there, then gone, then back. Kind of takes away some of the magic of the performance.

You can tell Susan McFadden has such a background musical theater which isn't a bad thing but I just prefer the traditional background Ava brings being a traditional Irish musician myself.
