    The best part of this episode is the notion that Smith actually cares about the Robinsons and can’t let them die.

    Forget the illogic. And, forget that Kronos is a self-appointed, murderous, untrustworthy psychopath. After that, this has always been one of my more favorite episodes of LIS. I especially like some of the funny dialogue between Smith and the Robot.

    This was in my top five episodes of all time, I think if it was based on what you would buy into in this show none of them would be anybody's favorite, because I can't buy into the premise of any of it it's just there to enjoy. And this was one of the most enjoyable in my opinion. My favorite scene from this episode was Smith eating his porridge or whatever it was and the Robot taps him on the shoulder, the way he says "DOC TOR SMITH" and Smith screams! He triggers the robot's memory by calling him a bubble headed booby. WHAAAAAOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Kronos has all this technology to over see time. Yet, he needs Will to run on a treadmill to generate extra power. And how long has Kronos been doing this job? He could have gone to the Celestrial Department Store and pick a couple of generators.

    This is the problem I have with this episode. When Smith returns to the past, he's wearing his military uniform, when the robot returns, he's back to his original default settings, but why isn't Will wearing his silver flight suit as he did during launch?

    One of my favorites, though the ending is illogical. The Robot was supposedly already put aboard the ship. When Smith and the Robot ran into the ship at the last minute before liftoff, there would've then been two robots on board, which would've thrown them off course. If the other Dr. Smith had been aboard, then there would've been two Dr. Smiths also. Who knows where the added weight of an extra Robot and extra Smith would've taken them?

    • @Richie-tn9wi
      @Richie-tn9wi 2 роки тому

      There may not have been two Dr. Smiths and Two Robots as they could have gone back and joined that same timeline at that time. If they did join the same timeline, they would have also lost all memories of the next few years. However, the robot should have been put on board the space ship, and it wasn't, therefore the space ship should not have taken off without him.

    well what can I say to your reply. Except that there's nothing worse objective than art. There is no standard really what's good event is absolutely up to the individual or what's believable or not or what buys into or what's entertaining. So I like your opinion because it's your opinion and everybody's opinion is different that's what makes art so incredibly different all the time. So thank you for your opinions and keep them coming!

She got my brother she's through puberty I'll tell you that.I don't think a sentence came out right before but what I meant to say was there is nothing more subjective then what is good or pleasing or appealing than art. Whether it's painting singing film writing you name it whatever kind of our form I mean hell, pruning shrubs without disturbing the natural contour is it an art? Yes it is!I think Irwin Allen should have took on the musical. I think he should have been a little cutting-edge and made"Four Brides for Seven Brothers.

      @@dwashbur I also think that there shouldn't be any really other way to look at the Virgin opinions other than that, if we don't look at them away then different opinions we don't look at artist subjectiveness and support people's opinion even if we want to contradict it with one of our own we don't say the person has no right to say that and it what they're saying is not true cuz what we're saying isn't true to them. So really what I'm saying is that there's infinite you can look at freedom of expression.

    • @skinnybear5743
      @skinnybear5743 2 роки тому

      If he stayed on earth, the Jupiter 2 would have been destroyed in a meteor storm according to Cronos. It was because of Smith's added weight that caused the Jupiter 2 to veer off course, so boarding the ship again, time was reset.

    Yes, this episode makes NO sense. Far too many time-travel stories over the decades haven't. This one goes much further than that. It's like the writers took way too much LSD before writing this. It's a completely- INSANE fantasy, wherein "real world" concepts like business, profit, etc., are hooked directly to nonsensical fantasy concepts, as if they belong together, when, THEY DON'T. But if you ignore that, and just go along with it all, it's amazing how much fun this story is.
    On one hand, this was LIS's version of "The City On The Edge Of Forever", where someone must go back in time to prevent history from being changed. But taking place on a military base, and played FOR LAUGHS, it's also like "Tomorrow Is Yesterday".
    For the 2nd time this season, an experiment accidentally opens a door to some other dimension. In one it was anti-matter, here it's a "time factory". (SAY WHAT?) I can tell there's moments in this where Guy Williams was really getting fed up with the non-sensical plots and dialogue he was forced to deal with. You can see it in his expressions!
    In the midst of all this absolute INSANITY... incredibly, both Billy Mumy & Jonathan Harris had really heartfelt moments that seem like they belonged in another show altogether. First, when Will told The Robot (his best friend), "I LOVE you!" Then, when Smith said he wished he could be better. It was one of the few times this season where you could really tell Jonathan Harris could act. YES, from what I've read, Harris DID write most of his own dialogue. And my guess is, he also wrote the Robot's. They were LIS's anwer to Abbott & Costello.
    I loved when the Robot punched out the guards, then said, "Please, EXCUSE me!" Hilarious. And then the guard says, "Watch out for his right hook!" And, it's an actual HOOK.
    A WEIRD bit of continuity here: Hoke Howell was the SAME actor who played the security guard in "The Reluctant Stowaway" who Smith knocked out inside the Jupiter 2! Also, the piece of John Williams music heard JUST before take-off was the same in BOTH episodes!! I loved when the Robot said Smith would "look silly" hanging by his toes.
    Until recently, I never realized that John Crawford had played the Mayor who got kidnapped in the 3rd Dirty Harry movie, "THE ENFORCER". That movie was also played for laughs.

      That's hard to say. The ones I did buy didn't stick with me as much as the ones I didn't. Most of the first season I found believable.
