This trend is complete bullsh*t, BR is so flawed as a formula because no matter what you do RNG always catches up to you. BR needs to die or be revamped, mark my words.

I’m glad everyone’s coming back to this and pointing out how Dr Disrespect was saying the age demographic for the game, it’s not actually the demographic, it’s just what’s always on his mind.
An example of why (generally) UA-camrs have better gaming opinions than streamers. They take their time when they form opinions where streamers don't. Look how stupid Disrespect sounds shooting from the hip with what he thinks about Halo Infinite. In one breath he claims to love Halo yet fundamentally misunderstands how chasing the tired trend of BR would only hurt Halo. When someone says they don't play the campaign of a game they're already suss in my mind. Nothing wrong with liking multiplayer but when you can't even watch a single player trailer without bringing up BR.... Thank God for Favyn and Act Man. Its a damn shame that devs put so much weight behind streamer opinions that are based purely in crap that doesn't apply to a normal player experience like viewership.
Umm, it's already a following a trend. Every single player triple A game is nowadays is trying to become a sandbox and Halo is following that trend. The only issue is if it will differentiate itself from the blandness that plagues other games.

Yea for real. Games sell millions and there’s a couple hundred thousand viewers on one game. It’s like less than 5% of the player base watching. It makes no sense.
Even if it was, views wouldn’t be a good way to ultimately judge a game’s success. Some games are successful and fun, but just don’t work well as entertainment for a live stream scenario
Look at Skyrim and the Witcher 3! They don’t have multiplayer modes AT ALL, have basically NO viewers on Twitch and yet they still sell copies and are still getting released on new platforms YEARS after release due to popular demand. Games don’t need streaming views to be successful.

Cool video. Never mind the fact that they were 50% right. The game is now pretty much dead, although it's not because of the lack of a BR. It's because of a lack of content. Could have been a great successor to the arena shooter we all love, but it turned into nothing.
Hey buddy yeah I admit first launch was very lacking in content and games should be complete upon release (looking at you COD and Battlefield) But the core gameplay in Infinite makes it the replay value sooo good. Especially if you have a squad of buddies to jump on with. Halo Infinite has enough content right now to keep it fun to play over and over again. What's more 343 is activity listening to the community and updating to our feedback which is something than cannot be said about EA or Epic Games. With Forge, new maps and modes, co-op campaign and new season launching soon Infinite will have everything it should have had at launch and more. I agree 343 should have given us more on release and they get some points taken away for that but they have done and incredible job with everything already included and they are actively responding to our feedback and giving us the content we want. TO imply that Halo is dead is just kinda stupid. The game is wildly popular and people need to stop saying everything needs a BR mode, turn their misty eyes away from COD and realize Halo has so much more to offer. COD isn't bad, I love warzone and MW, but the last two games have seriously sucked and Halo is a way more consistent series. With the exception of Halo 5 of course.
@@alexyeager4933 by this point cod sucks but is still superior in gameplay, response times and even graphics… than halo infinite, and about battlefield.. oh well we dont need to talk about that
Me too. It's like everyone is more focused on an individual or individuals playing a game rather than enjoying it themselves or with their buddies. That's what halo was all about, a shooter with a high skill ceiling but your obnoxious little brother could still have fun with you and your friends. These streamers are irrelevant, just have fun with the game.
The idea that a Halo games multiplayer needs a BR to bump up its numbers is goddamned insane. It's pretty clear these streamers are terrified that Halo will actually take viewers away from their BR garbage.
I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s because they are terrified of viewers dismissing or looking away from their particular brand, I just think that from a streaming perspective, they know that Halo is a big title, it has popular brands, and big money behind it through Microsoft, and so they see it this; if Halo can uphold a particular audience that juxtaposes w high viewership for those streamers than they want to maximize that outcome which in their eyes are BR’s. Now I disagree w that incentive, but I don’t think that it’s because they are afraid that Halo will be successful to a point that it will bring viewers away from their BR brand. I mean if it’s popular as an arena type shooter than those streamers will gravitate to that type of shooter because it makes them money. They just see that arena type shooters will not give them that viewership that they believe they would have if there was a BR.
Yes, that's exactly how it came off, as BR is the best way to get people with a form of ADD to keep watching these quick matches that most people barely even pay attention to as they're all typing furiously in chat desperately trying to be funny, and get attention.
Completely agree. Anybody who isn't playing this on release is probably going to be watching whoever is playing it. And let's be real, for all the complaining these guys are doing they're going to be playing and streaming it as well. Who are they kidding?
And it's about goddamn time. I've hated BR ever since it came out with PUBG and Fortnite. I never thought CoD would stoop as low as to include a shitty BR mode, but I guess they'll do anything for that cash flow.
This is one of the most terribly aged videos I've ever seen. Halo dropped the silver platter and Dr. Disrespect revealed his true motivation for a battle royal. I feel bad for Act Man, but God this is truly a work of art.
Ironically I think the reverse of his point. I can play a battle royale for at most a week before I get utterly bored of it. When forge releases in sure someone will make a half decent little BR that I'll enjoy but campaign is the main focus for me.
I mean, yeah, but those are exactly the defining traits of the genre lol. It's like if somebody said "Racing sims are outdated at this point" and then you'd go "Yeah, but Mario Kart is doing fine, and aren't racing sims the same thing, just way more realistic and with no items?" Long gone are the days were people would play games just to have fun. Everyone is trying to become the next big streamer, everyone is trying to bump or maintain their numbers. Halo doesn't need a BR to be successful, YOU need a BR to be successful.
Yhh thats what sucks, especially when games bend over backwards to cater to the pros and the streamers instead of the players, case in point rainbow six siege.
@@ArchieGamez true but I mean when I see changes like: house rework, night maps being removed, other reworks with less points of entry to make firefights easier to predict I feel like these are things only the pro community wants, they may hate some of Ubisoft's changes but that pales in comparison to the number of changes they have made for pros at the detriment of the original vision of the game and the gameplay desired by the fans of the early days, when siege wasn't big in the pro scene and thus still cared more about the players.
@@geilertobi231 I don't think it's necessarily the fault of capitalism, after all fans can bring in more money, take a look at games like gta, hitman, battlefield, these games aren't really prevalent if at all present in the pro scene yet rake in tons of cash. I think the problem is that they think what they are doing is the best method to make money when it is not, capitalism is great for games because it will encourage companies to make the most money which generally means trying to appeal to fans, siege and similar games are in a position where they are making money, just not as much as they could be if they did what the fans want.
If they want a BR; just have people good at making forge maps make “Hunger Games” like in reach. Literally the funnest moments I’ve ever had on forge workd
I played a Reach map in the custom games browser on Forge World that used the entire map (As it's the biggest one ever created) and it was a FFA battle royal game type. It seems like it'd be fun but it got boring fast, especially since the shield recharge rate was longer and shields were weaker to help out with the balancing. I just don't get why some people obsess over BR modes. When I play Warzone with CoD, every match is usually the same thing where all players always go to the exact same location, despite having such a huge map to explore and to ambush people. It also doesn't help that everyone has armor in that BR game so it creates a weapon meta that you have to use to actually compete with even the most basic players. I couldn't see it working with Halo with the balancing of weapons and vehicles, as if you came across a team of 2 or more guys and you have a Plasma Rifle or SMG and they have Battle Rifles, you'll be screwed
I know this comment is super late, but... Having played Halo since it's release in 2001, I can genuinely say that I would love a Halo BR. Do I think it needs it, no... But I think it would be fun, assuming it's made the right way. While I still enjoy playing Fortnite, and I had a good time with both Apex and Warzone, I think those games are too far away from what a Halo BR *needs* to be. Honestly I believe that a Halo BR just needs to be more Halo but just on a larger scale. No having to pick up shields, no additional armor, no different attachments for weapons or awkward interfaces. Just drop us onto Zeta Halo with Banished and UNSC weapons scattered around the map, like it would be in multiplayer, and let us find them, pick them up, and fucking shoot each other. They can even take a page out of Blackout's book and utilize past and current maps in the landscape. Can you imagine playing Halo with 99 other people? 25 squads of 4 just duking it out on the biggest, most open, most beautiful Halo map we've ever seen? The fact of the matter is that all the stuff for a BR in Halo is already there. Infinite introduced a bunch of different equipment, and you can even bring back some of the older ones from past games, especially for maneuverability (looking at you Jetpack and Grav Lift). Imagine coming up on someone from behind just for them to bubble shield you... Imagine grapple hooking onto a tree or building and lobbing a Plasma onto an enemy player from 50 yards away! And then, oh this is great! And then, sharing it with people through some sort of file... share... wait. Facebook. Anyway, the map could be designed for the different movement options in mind, and you could have intense battles that last on multiple layers of engagement. Infinite also introduced variations on different weapons. Hell, you could even acquire them the same way you did in the campaign: hunting down a high value target. Implement a sort of PVPVE. Side note: I can't believe those weapons aren't currently available for use in the actual multiplayer. The overall point here is that a Halo BR doesn't have to be fancy, or even *new*... It just needs to be Halo. And the reason I hope it never exists is because the developers will never understand that..
1. Following trends is what got caused the downfall of Halo in the first place 2. Campaign and good, solid, arena multiplayer is what Halo needs to be successful, end of discussion 3. Actually Dr. Disrespect having a battle royale would be appealing to the "13, 14 year old demographic"
Well said. Someone also mentioned that "if you don't like BR, just don't play it", which is flawed thinking considering that levelling up is tied behind challenges, which the BR mode definitely will have. So if you want to level up, you'd have to play the BR mode to get some challenges done.
No it didn't. "Halo died following trends" please elaborate. Poor execution and lame campaign are trends now so I guess your right. They made too many halos that NEVER pushed the limits or felt the same as the original hype. Not following trend. Pretty sure we ALL KNOW a BR would definitely hold MORE players. Idc if you don't like BR this isn't about you. It's about the game as a whole to the fucking planet lmao
And for Act to say "cater to your old fans" is absolutely delusional from an income perspective. Also he says a BR down the line would be expected and welcomed. This guy's whole shtick is flip flopping with a consistent attitude to make a flip flopping, understandable opinion feel like a sub concrete fact. Entertaining, but yawn inducing. This is all my opinion btw 😁
Dr. Disrespect definitely does not want to keep playing Warzone and Fortnite and god knows whatever the hell else was shown on screen at 4:16. It's probably the only reason why he would want it, and in a fucked up way I can't blame him, BR is how he makes money, hopefully streamers can "diversify their bonds".
more like content creator tells other content creators to grow a pair and do things they will enjoy rather than profit. Time to make gaming great again.
I want a battle royale where I can play as a grunt or a shield jackel or a brute or a hunter..... A battle royale with all Spartans or elites would suck and be boring. I don't know how this would work but it would be cool like... Star wars with jedai and Droid and clone and storm troopers in one match.
"When this game launches, viewership is not going to be good" There you go. That is exactly what these streamers are focused on - views - not the actual game itself or the game's playerbase.
It's the same reason why Modern Warfare seems like nobody plays it because all the streamers just play Warzone because it's free to play.

The idea that a Halo games multiplayer needs a BR to bump up its numbers is goddamned insane. It's pretty clear these streamers are terrified that Halo will actually take viewers away from their BR garbage.
Yup 100% bro Halo has always been different and original Not the same thing over and over again

Streamers: Sir! Hop in! You need to get a BR!
Halo: Negative sir. I've got the gun.
The only Halo "BR" mode I would want to see is ODST. Drop from orbit with your squad of 4-5 players and move in on a target in the center of the map
That shit would be dope thkigh

Long gone are the days were people would play games just to have fun.
@@ch4z_bucks Even pros and streamers are fed up with Siege and Ubisoft, some of the patches in recent months has been fukin weird as hell
And all the companies are ruled by shareholders and money, not the ones passionate about gaming. Thank Capitalism Bud.
Damn youre right. Thats the point of forge. I love forge.
Good thing it won't be out until a year from now
Yeah there were loads of FFA forge maps all the way back in Halo 3, i'm reaallllly looking forward to see what people craft in Infinite
BRs are overcooked, I want more Tarkov-like Survival shooters. Like imagine being an ODST dropped into an insurgent planet and it is pure anarchy
Saying that BR is "Outside of the Box Thinking" is top irony *chefkiss*

1. Following trends is what got caused the downfall of Halo in the first place
2. Campaign and good, solid, arena multiplayer is what Halo needs to be successful, end of discussion
So if you want to level up, you'd have to play the BR mode to get some challenges done.
ua-cam.com/video/man0AxO8y_A/v-deo.html
No it didn't. "Halo died following trends" please elaborate. Poor execution and lame campaign are trends now so I guess your right. They made too many halos that NEVER pushed the limits or felt the same as the original hype. Not following trend. Pretty sure we ALL KNOW a BR would definitely hold MORE players. Idc if you don't like BR this isn't about you. It's about the game as a whole to the fucking planet lmao
And for Act to say "cater to your old fans" is absolutely delusional from an income perspective. Also he says a BR down the line would be expected and welcomed. Dr. Disrespect definitely does not want to keep playing Warzone and Fortnite and god knows whatever the hell else was shown on screen at 4:16.
