It's very difficult to come up with an extraordinary musician who is at the same time so friendly, so warm and gentle, so truly good in every way... Peter Frampton is that guy.
Peter Frampton seems to have such a nice personality, always good to see when stars are *not* divas. A great personality to go with his great talent. Bravo!
I grew up with Peter Frampton's great era music. He has evolved in an amazing way, seems to be a terrific guy & glad he has his original Les Paul and mojo back. Hats off to this great icon!
Any guitar player can tell you, a guitar has a unique voice, a one of a kind mojo that can be hard to replace. It's like a friend with a personality. I can't imagine how Peter felt when he held it for the first time after 30 years. He was so right not to refurbish it. It tells one of the greatest stories about one man's love for a guitar. Much like "Lucille" was to BB King, EVH's "Frankenstein", or SRV's "The Wife".
Good news... Peter Frampton is on tour once again. He plays this weekend March 16th 2024 in Windsor Ontario Canada... and throughout the USA after that. You will never ever see/ hear a guitarist like Peter Frampton. He's in his 70s now so don't miss what could be your last chance to see him live. I saw him live back in 2011 and it was definitely the highlight of my five years living in the USA.
GOOD NEWS❗❗Frampton is on tour again. He plays live in Windsor Ontario this weekend March 16th 2024 and then throughout the USA after that. Do not miss seeing / hearing this phenomenal guitarist / musician. He's in his 70's now so it may be a last opportunity. I saw him live in Denver back in 2011 and it was THE highlight of the five years that I spent living in the USA.
So underrated as a guitarist. Don't know why because his solos and his music are beyond outstanding. His nuance and feel for the music are incredible. Just try to play his stuff and you will see. He is fantastic.
I have been squealing almost the entire time. I love this man with so much heart and soul. To just have a guitar conversation over tea would make my life (and probably many others).
Great feature. I remember seeing the news of Peter getting this guitar back. Pretty sure tears of joy were shed. Long time fan, seeing him at Winterland 3 or 4 times. Happened to catch a radio interview from 98.5 The Fox in '09 or so (Kihn and Jackson) and after being put on hold for commercials, all they wanted to talk about was the Les Paul. He had to remind these guys lives were lost during this event. After about a minute of this, Peter said "I have to go now. Sorry" and hung up. I thought this was perfect! DJ's didn't have a clue! Its awesome to see how grateful he is for this coming back into his life, Heck, the guitar was a gift from a fan to begin with!
He should have never had to pay a penny or negotiate for two years to get his own guitar back. Some people in this world are so selfish and greedy. At least he got it back
James Johnson some people are greedy, but all people need money to live. Considering he's from a South American country I imagine it was the meal ticket of a life time. I'm sure he could've got more in an auction, but he negotiated for 2 years so Frampton could get it
I'm with you there. Would've been a remarkable gesture to return it to its rightful owner. Think of the goodwill it might've generated. Often kindness is its own reward.
The guitar was sold to a musician on a Caribbean island after it was salvaged - and that musician used it for close to 30 years. Its more than likely that that musician changed the pickups and hardware - unaware of the guitars history. Frampton merely returned it to its original spec once he had it back. There is no doubt that it is the same guitar.
Life's funny like that! when you think you have the tiger by the tail, the universe shows it's peculiar sense of humor, however one can only bounce off a wall so many times before learning how to just let it be. --- things have a way of working out.
Thanks for your reply. Perhaps you are correct. I guess I can't send you a link on You Tube that shows Frampton playing his other Les Paul. (Just go to Frampton images on Google and search for it) That guitar had the white pick guard, but was not the main guitar used on FCA. Hard to imagine that the musician on that Caribbean island added a perfectly fitting white pick guard to a guitar that was already damaged. Maybe pick ups were changed but not the neck? Anyway thanks again
+demetrios3232 man do you think it's possible that the pickups could be changed or white covers added to the guitar! This is the mans guitar don't try a deny it from him because that's just sad with your theories! You do realise he can change the thing! The 54 les Paul custom did only have p90s and no third pickup! It got it modded! So man just this a very special guitar to a special musician, don't take it away from him! Btw his backups were 1960s standards :) have a nice day!
Notinserviceij He has said in interviews that he had to change the pickups so that's why it looks different. All they had to do was check the serial number anyway...
he must have had hot and cold running girls back in the day. It helped me by simply having the Alive tape in my car, if you know what I'm getting at ;-)
In my opinion, this is not the same Les Paul that Frampton played in the early part of his career and on FCA. His main Les Paul Custom the with added pick up, was of course black, but did not have a white pick gaurd and the Humbuckers were black not white. You can even see on the cover of FCA that that guitar was different. The long lost Les Paul could indeed be one of his back up guitars, but in my opinion was not the main guitar we see him playing in the early part of his career...
At the 7:55 mark Peter is presented with the long lost Les Paul and you can see that it has a white pick guard and white pick ups. Then later at 8:09, he's showing us the guitar without the pick guard and the pick ups are now black. Strange. I'm sure he modified it by taking the pick guard off and replacing the pick ups, but the guitar from the bag, in my opinion, is not the original that we see on the cover of FCA..
He talks about losing the male fan base with the shirtless photo. He lost it when he came out with that terrible I'm in You album and single right after Frampton Comes Alive. Went from one extreme album to a soft pop sound. The rock radio stations wouldn't play it and all the pop stations did. His momentum came to a screeching halt with all his rock fans.
It's very difficult to come up with an extraordinary musician who is at the same time so friendly, so warm and gentle, so truly good in every way... Peter Frampton is that guy.
you can tell how humble he is.

Frampton is a living legend truely underated one of the best ever.
This man is an icon, watch his live performance in New York, truly one of the greats.
One of the Nicest Musicians ever

Truth!
Best rock album of my life! For someone who’s career was on the slide, his life at home doesn’t look too shabby as my trailer I live in!
Always loved him, he was so humble. And ahhh that smile. 💕
Great story from a great guitarists who, by the way, is worthy! Glad to see Peter has his dearest friend back...

I became a christian July 4, 1976 listening to Peter Frampton....Oh Jesus I love your Way...everyday
What a story. When I was a kid and he was HUGE I didn't know enough to see that he was a real musician. He is.
Not uncommon to see Peter Frampton at the Ridge Avenue IHOP on Sunday morning here in Cincinnati. Seriously, no joke.
Still one of the greatest ever! Awesome, underrated guitarist!
Lovely guy. Fantastic guitarist. Classic album

Pete's a great musician and class act
Frampton is one of the best guitarrist of all time

Wow, all these years, and I never heard this story! Incredible....seems like a pretty cool guy, great musician
Awesome story!!!
My cousin and I use to argue which one of us were going to marry him.❤️🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍 He will always ROCK
Beautiful story of a incredible musician. Love you more!
Love and Peace to you, Peter!
Awesome guy!

Paid a little to get to meet him in Boise a few years ago. A nice man.

A love story. Respect, thanks and warm hugs from Uruguay
Ya gotta love Frampton!
Lo adoro! 😊😙
What a good story. I'd do anything to meet this man

Nice story here. Happy ending!
Good guitar I've played it several times
Congrats on getting your majic mojo baby back. Happy for you Mr. Frampton.
"Let's talk about your movie career" LOL!
" well Ringo what do I do now" -"I don"t know its your career"?
Poopengliphen!
Worthy ;) Oh, so worthy!
Damn. There were tears in my eyes when I heard that.
But I saw him years later at Bogart's around 90 or 91 and had realize what a great guitarist he actually is

and I love Peter anyway
I was one of the fans that said see you after seeing the cover of I'm In You. Also hearing the music it wasn't very good.

Steve Veasey Thats what i said, your comment is totally unnecessary

Sorry, should have replied to the original comment, my bad
all good i confused myself anyhow :P
I liked Sgt. Pepper.

Karma people..good things happen to good people...
In español pleace
i can also link you to this video which shows him taking the guitar to gibson to get it returned to its original specification. /watch?v=ll018kpTfc8

I know people LOVE to play devil's advocate I respect that.No one knows what 32 mysterious deadly years did to "Black .b
Caracas, really?

Actually, MANY PEOPLE agree" I'm In You" is one of the best singles of the 70's and certainly Frampton's best, even if the album wasn't.
4:01 creepy guy in the top right corner
Cincinnati? Huh.
Awesome
