It just feels wrong that this beautiful home is slated for demolition. There is so much character and charm in this house. It definitely looks well built. I love all the windows and closets. Ethan, thank you for this wonderful tour. I really appreciate all that you put into your filming. ❤
That house is a very high quality build. It's got everything...the barn/shop & garages are man's dream. I bet the owners' kids ran wild on that property and had endless fun. Imagine how much they enjoyed that cottage/clubhouse and ponds? I actually found this property on Google maps. It was beautifully wooded, blocking the view of the ugly housing construction across the street. It backs up to a provincial park/reserve where the river is. It’s a real gem, and especially sad when you see the developer’s condo construction layout for this land.
@@casual35I agree tearing this Beautiful home down is a crime. But the all mighty DOLLAR Alway's prevails 😥🤦♀️ as for the environment why would this harm the environment? I'm not being mean but climate change is a big lie. Kindest thoughts to you and your family and Fur babies. This place is awesome. If they could just keep the house!! At least the insides could be salvaged. Sold by the piece instead of wasted. It makes me want to cry! It’s so disgusting that this is so some damn investor can make a buck.
From a woman's point of view you can never have enough closets or storage and this house doesn't disappoint!!! Very neat house with some unique features.
This house has so much character and is so different from the “everyday” build. I LOVED this one! It reminds me of my childhood home, Even the pond. It’s great for skating in the winter. Great find Ethan!! Thank you 😊
I absolutely love this house. It’s so unique and beautiful with the built ins and large windows. I can’t believe what a throw away society we live in. I would love to live in this house.
I love that little dollhouse of a room on the third floor. Do I need to say how sick it makes me that this house is being demolished? The waste never ends. I despise it. This is probably my favorite of the houses you’ve taken us through. I love everything about it. It’s so lovely. What a shame.
I think that this is my favorite house you've done so far Ethan. It's much too big for my needs (I always thought I'd love a multi-level home until I bought one - kept having to run up and down stairs for things I'd forgotten), but I love everything about it. I can just imagine kids living here: the third floor, rec room downstairs, all the space to run, private beach and a cabin to boot! I'm wondering if the space that you thought might have housed a spiral stair case might have been a wood elevator for fire wood for the fireplaces. And I also wonder if the building you thought was a shop was stables or if it was just made to look like it. And I LOVE all the outdoor spaces available from the first floor.I I understand that these properties are bought for a small fortune. But where do the families go fro here? They've abviously spent a lot of time and a TON of money getting the exact house they wanted for their family. Land and construction are expensive everywhere. There's a housing crisis across Canada. So what are they going to buy for the money they get for their dream property? Maybe they're empty-nesters? I don't know. Excellent find Ethan. Love it!
Here we go again. It really breaks my heart to see something like this happen over and over again. All the details of the house that were really put together to enjoy. Another great job on this one. Take Care and stay Safe. Peace Out.
What an absolutely beautiful family home!! Were those dog kennels in the garage?? Also those split doors in the barn area were 3 horse stables. The post fencing around it were probably little yard fencing as well with paddocks at the front of it. What a life they would have enjoyed!!The horse riding trails around there would have been an absolute dream especially as a kid!!
I just saw where Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger demolished a home that was built by some big time architect back in the day. They want to build a farmhouse mansion. With all their monies I bet they still couldn't build the character and love of home as this one has. I just love this home! Thank you for showing us this Ethan!
Many of the houses you go through are beyond repair, but this one looks salvageable. It is a shame the banks let them sit for so long that they get damaged from lack of maintenance. Someone could have bought this and fixed it up for the right price. Such a waste of resources. I think that was a wheelchair lift.
Yes absolutely ridiculous! But they charge millions to build and buy it but then in the end they just bulldoze it so that says how much builders, etc. have always scammed millions of Americans by marketing homes and taking people's money- Greed!!
That little area by the window with the outlet would be perfect for plugging in a device to charge and sit there and enjoying the scenery and talking to someone on the phone or reading on a kindle.
This is a beautiful house with very little damage. The outside is so peaceful and surreal.Thank You Ethan for another awesome home and land. Can't wait for the next one.
It's incredible that all these homes are making developers richer by the day. I don't think future generations will ever know there were once family farms and mansions where they live. Thanks for exploring this home, and I hope the salvage companies get to this before the demolition guys!
SLOW DOWN ETHAN! I love the upstairs of this place. Very interesting floor plan for sure. WOW what a beautiful layout. No reason this house is just being torn down. We are very wasteful human beings. With storms tearing places apart and corporations decide to just demo beautiful structures just because. Pretty soon the trees are gonna disappear faster then they grow. There should be a law against this kinda thing. Only houses over a certain age or has some type of structure issues should be able to be destroyed.
That makes me mad too Ethan when they say that they about to treat the house down if there ain’t nothing wrong with it with a bad property like this is beautiful it’s a shame
Okay! This is my dream house!! The nicest house I’ve probably seen in my life!! Huge but not too insane. Beautifully well selected materials artfully crafted into such stunning interiors. So many unexpected nooks and cubbies. Love the real fireplaces. Only things I would fix would be the part on the third floor without the railing and the opening from the loft area with gate. I would move in tomorrow. I’m sickened by the idea of this being torn down for the benefit of someone’s greed. Really there is something majorly wrong with people?!?! Thank you Ethan for sharing this stunning beauty!! Take care of yourself be well and stay safe!!
I can't believe anyone would ever let this beautiful house be sold to be demolished! What an absolute shame that this house will no longer exist soon. It absolutely breaks my heart!
The outlet on the upper window is for a lighted Christmas wreath, I bet. Classic three across. It makes me so sad that it'll all be paved and built on. A homestead with that much attention to detail must've been loved for those 30 years. I can hear the summertime fun on the pond! I feel sorry for it now.
Yes, that type of roof is very very expensive. Even in the states, my grandfather was a contractor, and he did his own up in Washington State. But before that he had the shingles put on his house in California in the 1970’s and it was a lot of money. Now in Southern California where I am from in the 1980’s cities were banning these kind of roofs, due to being a fire hazard.
Hey Hey Ethan😃 such nice work!!! Thank you for sharing this beauty and all of your beauties with us!! We appreciate you and all.that you do!! Keep up the good work, sending hugs and stay safe!!😊
Outlet by the window is for a light. Could be Christmas or just "a light in the window". My Mom had a big stained glass picture hanging in her window like this. She always kept an electric candle in it. Also, about twice a year, she would get someone to climb up a ladder and using a " Dust Buster" vacuum and cloth to clean the window and dust. One Christmas, she had a brightly lit wreath. It always looked so peaceful and welcoming from the road.
I agree with Ethan about the slanted ceilings in the bedrooms, if you can only place the bed under the sloping ceiling ouch bump getting up, claustrophobic yup, oxygen nope. The stairs in the attic Dangerous. Oh but the colour of the staircase Beautiful, love black and white and greys as a colour theme, exactly how I designed my home. I thought the roof was wood. 🤦♀️? Hey Ethan I like big open rooms too! I dislike the slanted walls too! They make it hard to put certain furniture in the room. I like the black and white staircase and its an awesome old home! Omg that pine wood room is beautiful....i cant believe this is empty and going to be demolished!
This was an incredible adventure! The home and property and structures are are absolutely amazing!! 🤩 I'm not exactly sure what the architectural style would be , it's like a cross between country Manor and farmhouse chic, morphed into one astounding design! Every room, every turn, was another exciting discovery of top quality materials and intriguing design features! If I had to pick just one favorite room, ( although every one was awesome) , it would have to be the the all wood pine room, it was stunning! I agree totally, that if asked, I would never say that, country or especially farmhouse would be on my list of favorites, but this place definitely would be! I think it's the large, expansive windows, endless natural light, the warm and cozy, yet free spirited feel of the entire home and property! It is truly senseless and sad waste for it to be wiped away! Thanks for this fabulous adventure!! 💥🤟✌️
This is an absolutely gorgeous home!!! Inside AND outside! And, yes, def 1989-90 as I lived in a home that this reminds me a lot of that was built that year. One of the best homes you've shown for sure. Horrible shame for it to just be gone. Inexcusable.
Doing a great job 💪👍. Lol. We like almost everything you show us. The ones that almost got away, too. I heard about the great sharing, caring, Ethan. All UA-camrs should be as good a person as you. Thanks very much for the lowdown, for the showdown. It's always more interesting, the way you describe things actually allows some of us older people to reminisce, and remember those TV shows, and cars, and FM radio. Lmao. It's so much more interesting, when you know the history of the place. You tell details of the building, and show a rather good eye for what you want as a home. I'm still trying to visualize that, but you should get an artist's rendering of your dream home(s) for us to see. That would be would be very cool, and go through some of these videos, and put the parts you like together for us. I think it's a great idea. You could have fun messing around with the size, shape, and features, snd you never know, you could be a housing entrepreneur.
I agree with you Ethan, so many of these places you've taken us to end up in the landfill. All the wood, appliances, glass, everything. All so a developer can building a bunch of low quality expensive looking houses and condos for mostly investors. So much of this house could be recycled. Or, better yet, leave it, build around it and make this house a type of community center or focal point in the area. Sigh...
Hi Ethan...FAB U LOUS 💥...what a stunning house...insane amount of money spent building it with all the details...and all the out buildings..now its gonna be gone 🙉....always enjoy your videos and commentary...stay safe well and happy my friend 💋
Wow Ethan what a find. That would have been hard to sell to developers!! Just the out buildings and the pond with 2 docks would be fun in the summer months. WOW
Absolutely gorgeous everything…the house, the property, the out buildings. Wow!! Thanks for this explore Ethan, its a shame it will all be torn down for something that will more than likely be less appealing. 🙄🤦♀️
That is just gorgeous and sad it's going. There is another explorer I watch in Australia and they bulldoze so many early 1900 homes to make way for new developments and it pisses me off that history is being destroyed for soulless boxes
Stunning house , so many closets , shelves & oversize rooms . Another great video . Love the woodwork & the outlet way up high near the entrance could have been for a camera perhaps ??? Loved the 4 mirrors in the big washroom , but I was anticipating " what's up " times 4 ! 😁
This house is amazing! I personally love it so much! I love the built ins and all the character. The Pine Wood room is so incredible! I would spend a lot of time there 😉And the garage, little lake/pond, and yard…. So gorgeous! I WISH I had all the closet space this house has! That’s a major complaint of mine with our house we have (the past 23 years). No pantry, no hall closets, no entry way closet. Ugh. ❤ thank you for the tour! I hope the family(s) that lived here loved it and made lots of happy memories.
Ok, I'm no mansion or massive sized house fan, but GOOD LAWD!! I am freakin IN LOVE with this place! That look out was EVERYTHING!! I would imagine that is where i would spend alot of time. Jesus.... You really out did yourself, Ethan!! This place is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!This is now #1 on my list of favorites. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Hi Ethan, thanks for the video and I can't understand why they would tear down this house. It is so beautiful and with a small amount of work it sell quickly.
I don't know for sure, but that outlet at approximately 18:50 I think personally could possibly be for a lighted Christmas wreath to hang in the window. I could be completely off the mark, but that's what I would use it for! Of course you would need a very tall ladder! LOL! Also, I've been watching a bunch of your videos today (new subscriber) and I have to say that I love that you're so respectful of these properties and also that you stand in every mirror and say "what's up guys"! Really makes us feel like we're part of the video too. 💜🏡 P.S. LOL.. the Kraken!
This was an excellent video, really appreciated, but I did have to smile at your worried reaction to French doors on the bathrooms because of privacy, Hunnee, there are curtains, especially designed for glass and French doors, you just put one up and voilà, all the privacy you need! :)
This house and land is awesome...my heart hurts that it will ve demolished. I always wonder what and where the family is..I'm sure w this one they are on to bigger and better.. Good Job Ethan
Ethan this house looks like it was built for a high-powered person and the reason why I say that is because of the big closet upstairs looks like a room for suits and things of that along with the phone in the bathroom 🤪. but this house is got so much wood working it is just absolutely artistic. They took a lot of time in building this house and a lot of detailing with the way they wanted this house to look and feel. Very very nice home. Very welcoming as well. It is like I said always before. It’s a shame that this house has to come down but before I forget, you were looking for the words, sun bleached in that one room, where it was a sunroom, and that type of woodworking is called Shiplap that is on the ceiling , anyways take care thank you for sharing and be safe ❤️🫶🏻🤠
He said it would be really nice if you possibly could maybe get some pictures before they started to tear everything up with the big construction equipment because it would be really nice to see what it looked like prior before everything got tore down the trees and all that and a little beach anyways, just a suggestion but it still is awesome home. Thank you for sharing.😊
A possible answer to your ceiling-high electrical outlet. Outside Christmas lights? I love your videos. I hate that so much loss goes with taking these beautiful houses down. I wish we could learn more about the history of the house. Someone went to Harvard. I would like to know where they moved to. A newly built home? Also, It would be nice to see some before and after shots of the properties you film.
AHH MAZING!!! Thanks for showing us how Rich people live. But why would they need SO many closets? The owners sure kept that house clean, & luckily it didn't get trashed or vandalized. Any way you can find out what happened to that family? Why would there be a small amount of water damage in the 2nd floor ceiling if the plumbing was barely 30 yrs old? Also noticed you said there was an "auction note" did the owners go bankrupt? It's really nice when these videos tell us what went wrong with the original owners! Great Job!!!!
what a waste of a good home there are so many homeless people that could use that home you need to go back to see what it looks like after the build the cookie cutter homes this is so sad I agree with you it's such a waste of material and money great job on the video I got my son into watching now to
Christmas decorations of some kind is my guess for the outlet next to that window. They put a lot of thought into this design. No extension cords for them. Cool.
Think the Pine Room off the Dining Room is the Study and the opening gate on the second floor is for a personal lift for like a wheel chair to get to the Bedrooms from the First Floor.
Wow this is sad. Perfectly fine beautiful homes being demolished for the only reason of a new development while here in waayyyyy South Louisiana we have buildings and homes abandoned, full of mold, rotting and unsafe that still have yet to be demolished after Hurricane Ida in August 2021. Squatters breaking in.
I love this mansion, the back staircase, the master bathroom. All the cool nook and crannies. ...but what a shame for having to tore it down for redevelopment.

All so a developer can building a bunch of low quality expensive looking houses and condos for mostly investors. So much of this house could be recycled. Or, better yet, leave it, build around it and make this house a type of community center or focal point in the area. Sigh...
I don't understand why they just can't build the cookie cutter house's around this one without demolishing it . Enjoyed this Ethan .
I totally agree. Even if they cut the price significantly.. why destroy something perfectly livable??
Hi Ethan...FAB U LOUS 💥...what a stunning house...insane amount of money spent building it with all the details...and all the out buildings..now its gonna be gone 🙉....always enjoy your videos and commentary...stay safe well and happy my friend 💋
Wow Ethan what a find. That would have been hard to sell to developers!! Just the out buildings and the pond with 2 docks would be fun in the summer months. WOW
You have an excellent point Ethan. A gorgeous, exquisite house. Wow. I Concur with your outrage of it being demolished.
Absolutely gorgeous everything…the house, the property, the out buildings. Wow!! Thanks for this explore Ethan, its a shame it will all be torn down for something that will more than likely be less appealing. 🙄🤦♀️
Great Video, Ethan your excitement in describing makes me smile , Good to see you still enjoy your expeditions , Thank You for sharing. BE Safe ❤😊
The plug up there could be for Christmas lights. Of course you'd need a hella tall ladder to go up there....😂
This house is amazing!
Sad! I feel like a broken record. I believe those are cedar shake shingles-very cool!! I hope they are salvaged. What a gorgeous house.
I so agree with you Ethan! That house is gorgeous.
Awesome video bro, but so sad it’s being demolished! ❤️😢👍🤘
Awesome house! No way should it be torn down!! Thanks for taking us through it… may favorite room has to be the one with all of the wood.
Love that house, so unique!! 💖💖💖💖💖
Wow, this is a dream house for sure. What a beautiful layout.
P.S. LOL..
That third floor looks like it was a bedroom/bath combo.
Love the look of this home. Thank you for uploading, Ethan
Thumbs up on the video Ethan and I love the house 😁
The fam Memories i could immagine riding bikes and trikes ahhh turning into a world of no backyards and apartments. cheers Ethan for the view
Hello Ethan 👋I’m watching your great video now 👍❤️😎
All wow a dream home . that goes down again . thanks for sharing . ❤❤ stay safe love ya
Great explore, as usual!!
The plug in window sill is for Xmas decorations or something else decorative in window!👍💕
A very quaint house😊
He said it would be really nice if you possibly could maybe get some pictures before they started to tear everything up with the big construction equipment because it would be really nice to see what it looked like prior before everything got tore down the trees and all that and a little beach anyways, just a suggestion but it still is awesome home. Thank you for sharing.😊
Beautiful home…damn shame for it! Thanks for tour, awesome to see how the other half lives.
Nice House! In Virginia a house like that would probably be saved and 100’s of new homes built around it. It definitely has years left!
Ethan, thanks for this wonderful virtual tour and great job!
It's sad to see that this home will be torn down.
Those floor windows are beautiful, so much light with gorgeous scenery.
That style of roof is cedar shakes and yes, its very expensive. I had in a house I built years ago.
Yes!!! They’re won’t be covered with insurance anymore due to fire danger. They were beautiful, though
That house was absolutely gorgeous!
Such a shame that it has to be torn down.. people suck. ⚜️
The 1st room you showed us was the 3rd bedroom. The outlet that is in the window way above the door could be for Christmas decorations.
I use to live in Ontario….is this the Grimsby / Niagara area? Such a beautiful home, 😔
what a waste of a good home there are so many homeless people that could use that home you need to go back to see what it looks like after the build the cookie cutter homes this is so sad I agree with you it's such a waste of material and money great job on the video I got my son into watching now to
I love this style home, I want my dream house to look similar to this one
Christmas decorations of some kind is my guess for the outlet next to that window. They put a lot of thought into this design. No extension cords for them. Cool.
Wow what a beautiful house .I carnt understand why they got to demolish . I love watching your you tube channel videos . As im the uk 🇬🇧 .
Awesome home, too bad it will be torn down soon. 😮 ❤. Loved your video very much. ❤😊
Demolishing this lovely home is criminal.
This home is so beautiful. 😮😅😊
Yes wood shake roofs are very expensive.
One of my favorites Ethan!
The house is beautiful, thank you😊
I love this mansion, the back staircase, the master bathroom. All the cool nook and crannies. ...but what a shame for having to tore it down for redevelopment.
Thanks Ethan 😊 Such a beautiful home to just be demolished 😞
