    Just came back from a 400 mile day on my 2022 Xmax. Have 13,600 miles so far and just replaced the rear tire (my third) with a Michelin City Scoot. I'll replace the front City Scoot again with the next new rear (the OEM Dunlops are trash.) Mine will run 93 mph (indicated) but don't forget the speedo is a bit optimistic. And yes, it is very stable with no hands at that speed. Do a lot of riding in the twisties (Hwy 421 in East Tennessee and Virginia) and scraped the center stand a few times on deep right-handers. Mods include changing all the tulips to Denali LEDs, adding Denali DR-1 spots w/ yellow lenses and rheostat contol, a PIAA air horn, a Kaoko throttle stabilizer, heated grips with rheostat contol, a heated seat pad, a Givi tall windshield for the winter, a bracket for my phone and charger connection, a Givi 38L dry sack which I stuffed with inflated packing material that I use for a backrest, a Givi 135 step-through bag, and finally I routed an SAE adaptor for use with my battery tender and the tire inflator that I keep under the seat. I hope this helps those of you with Xmax scooters interested in touring. It's a great bike, got 96.6 mpg on this last trip on 87 octane regular, do regular service in the garage, oil changes with Yamaha full syn every 3k, and check tire pressure frequently.

    Also scooters are really good because wind protection on ur legs , is great for cold weather and hot weather, people who look down on scooters are really missing out, and id be willing to bet if a hard core harley type guy was forced to ride a xmax 300 for a month as a loner bike or something, I bet 5 out 10 times you'll see a scooter in their garage the next year or sooner 😅

    I a got a Suzuki burgman 400 and riding this scooters on interstate highways unless you got new oil they get ringed i pass a trailer down hill and almost felt like i was gonna get sucked under the truck because at the moment of passing the the truck there was cross winds . The big scooters 500 or more do better. Ride safe 😊. They are good for country roads. You wanna go to sleep on this scooters while riding that's how smoothly the ride . Not . See you in Daytona 🎉 . Ride to virginia beach from Maryland thru hwy 1 nice ride 🎉 .

    I think you may have just sold me on the XMax 300 over the adv160 to complement my little electric city scoot. I do not intend to ride on freeways often or maybe even at all, but the 50% larger under seat capacity, and the fact that I will never ever even be tempted to want more than the XMax 300 can deliver are just becoming more determining than the lighter weight and better mpg of the adv160. That thing looked so smooth at 80, like it’s not even trying.
    Anyway, thanks for the content. Been watching a lot of it, but realized I hadn’t subscribed yet, which I just rectified.

      Yes it is the ultimate scooter all around you can take it anywhere. You definitely will be happy with it.

      I have an adv160. It does 72 on the interstate and weights 100lbs less. Plus parts 1/2 the price of the xmax. If you need added storage you could always add a givi or top box. Unless you’re doing highway or interstate travel I think the adv would serve you fine.

    • @jmcminn1076
      @jmcminn1076 3 місяці тому

      @@dinospumoni8860 believe me, I have absolutely agonized over these two bikes. You're right. The Adv160 weighs less, gets better MPG, and costs $2000 less. Those are all strong points. And I've seen people get 65-75mph on the Adv160, which IS highway capable, if barely -- although the concern there is that is literally everything the bike has to give, and I am not a small guy, and would probably get closer to the 65mph end of that range. As freeway riding is not my primary criteria, I've still given a hard look at the two bikes, and gone back and forth. Where I am now: I have a small electric scooter for short trips where I don't need to carry much. I always wanted an electric scooter for that part of my use case, and the gas scooter is to cover cases where I need longer range or more cargo space. (You can disagree with me and say I should have just gotten one gas powered scooter if you want, and you would be right that doing that would have been more practical, but I really wanted an electric scooter for around town, and so I have one, rational logic be damned :) Both the Adv160 and XMax300 can fill up at gas stations, so longer range is there for either. As for cargo... yeah, I can add a back box and saddle bags to the adv160. But, I can ALSO add saddle bags and a rear box to the XMax300. The XMax is always going to have 15 liters more cargo space under the seat. The cost difference thing, I can afford the XMax if that's what I decide. Saving $2000 is never bad, so I'm not just hand waving at that, but what I really don't want to do is buy the cheaper smaller bike and wish I'd gotten the larger one later -- and the larger underseat, and the extra power are two things I can see lamenting not having later. In any case, you aren't wrong that the Adv160 is very compelling. It's not impossible that I end up going that way in the end either. I love the 2025 pearl blue too. Both bikes are just really good. :)

    I love the xmax and it would be a blast to cruise around on it outrunning Roadkings like the one I just sold. The only problem with the xmax is 95 mph doesn't really sound like a slow ride lol . I can't help but get a good chuckle about that. 70 ish mph is something that bike could do all day with one arm tied behind its back 😆 Thanks for the cool video.

    • @slowridersmotovlog201
      @slowridersmotovlog201  3 місяці тому +1

    • @jmcminn1076
      @jmcminn1076 3 місяці тому +1

      To be fair though, I am shopping for “slow ride” myself, and as I posted elsewhere in the comments, I am now strongly leaning towards the XMax 300 over the Adv160. The XMax 300 can “slow ride”, but if I ever have a reason to need to get on a highway, the Adv160 simply can’t do what you just showed an XMax 300 do. I have a little electric scooter for plodding around town. The gas scooter I am shopping for is intended to be my “everything the electric scooter just can’t do” bike and while it isn’t the most important box to me, getting on the highway is an extra box the XMax checks.

    On my 23 is gets squirrly after 70-75. Even with my legs n feet moved towards the front foot rests. I think it's the really flat, angled design in the front that makes it so jittery and light in the front. i gotta find a good throttle "lock" so i can set a good, comfortable speed while on the freeways.

      @@slowridersmotovlog201 I think part of it is that I ride freeways where it's like 4 or 5 lanes wide. So there's just that much more dirty air swirling around. Plus it's kind of always breezy. I've seen the highways you ride on and I don't think I would have that issue there. I've been on maybe a couple of 2 n 3 lane highways and it's not bad. It's when your on the big highways that it really makes it felt. For reference I ride the 91, and the 71 and 241 here in California. All of which are large and busy. I try and avoid the 15 bc of the sheer number of semis, you get absolutely obliterated by em. I'm tryna save up and get me some camera gear to capture my rides
