2024 Honda Ruckus Riding Adventure/ Cold Country Winter Ride/Underwater civil War Relic Found!!!
Freaking love the eagles, my favorite songs ever are take it to limit and I can't tell you why, among others I really love
NOT the same engine as the Ruckus. Bore/Stroke is 39.5mm x 40.3mm. Ruckus is 37.8mm x 44.0mm Both are liquid cooled. Incidentally, MSRP is $2649 (in California) and they are not exactly selling like hot cakes. I got mine 05/23/24 for $3111 out the door. Scooter, tax, registration, fees etc. Local dealer was looking for $800 Additional Dealer Markup. I asked if I could get some of the stuff he was smoking but he declined.
Excellent destination for a Memorial Day ride. Weather looked perfect. Thanks for getting off the bike and showing us around a bit.
Thank you very much
Another great road trip exploring beautiful historical scenery, God bless the fallen souls who fought for our rights and dignity to pursue the American dream, and might we continue the battle for freedom and the American way!!! Vote accordingly!!
Very well said!!
Just subscribed you are awesome great great great content
Thanks and welcome to slowriders family
Thanks for the tour on the max dan-o. I was gonna have a family get together but the rain got in the way. Just chilling out today.
Thank you enjoy your holiday
Brilliant tour of such beautiful scenery, Dan really knows his history in those parts, he actually found a civil war bullet on a video was really great!
Cool video Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks you
Great ride !
Excellent! Thank you.
Thank you and thanks for watching
Try finding the video where Dan finds a genuine civil war bullet unscripted clearly, in a video pertaining to civil war, was really amazing!
Great ride thanks, got my Xmax last week. Still have to break it in, bad weather here in the Netherlands right now :(
Hope you get some rides in soon!!
Love the civil war theme videos!
I want a Ruckus and was watching your speed throughout the video. Is your Ruckus stock?
Yes
Thanks, that helps me know what to expect!
Do you have to put plates on em ?
Not in Maryland
Which one would you choose 2024 Yamaha Xmax or the 2024 Suzuki Burgman 400?
Xmax every time
Do you guys discuss beforehand how you're going to ride as a group so everyone feels comfortable? BTW - I'm over in Mount Savage, MD and just got a Ruckus. I'm loving it! Just enough power to make it up the hills.
Yes we try to plan out our rides. You will have a blast on that thing
The ADV is the little brother to the PCX, it came along much later.
As a South African, I really despise the name Zuma given to the scooter.
That is awesome!!!!
Nice ride! I’m pushing 290 lb and can get my stock Navi up to 48-49 with no problem, kind of surprised me. I was curious about the old mill, turns out it was a coal fired electric power plant, retired in 2012. 😮
Yes I did find that out later. Creepy place
Hi, I'm going to buy a scooter for the first time (dont even have riding license) I think of burgman 400 but it is kinda expensive for me (400k turkish liras). I look for something comfy and safe for my first time since I have no bike experience. I want to get faster as I learn (I like speed but dont wanna die yet). What would you suggest? Should I look for another cheaper models or brands? Dont really know the reason but I really like the design of suzuki.
I would start off with a adv160 then move up from that. It’s light and you can around 65-70 mph
@@slowridersmotovlog201 is lighter better?
Yes
Definitely because you’re just starting out so you want to be comfortable
@@slowridersmotovlog201 Alrighty thank you
Would you consider an X-Pro Condor 150cc mini-moto? $1500 shipped to your door.
Most definitely
You chould go for a big gold wing too as a longer range cruiser
Please keep the rukus
I would never get rid of the Ruckus
Have you gone off road with these?
No but you can
Great day for a ride!
Yes it was!!
I have one of those ICON helmets and love it a lot. The face shield on mine is much larger than those on the shelf and is a burnt orange color, it almost looks like Ironman's face shield. They have built-in sunglasses that flip down with a slide button on the side for when you need extra sun blocking while riding. When you buy one they include a clear face shield for better visibility if you want to switch out the shiny colored one that's pre-installed. It's also setup to take a communications mic for when you ride in a group so there's also pouches on the inside of the helmet where your ears are for holding the speakers. You are also correct about the price, I paid $300 for mine but it was worth it, you only get one skull. If you're curious to see what mine looks like search for ICON Airflite Helmet- Space Force. Airflite is the helmet model and Space Force is the art design name. There is another pattern offered on the Airflite model that I want to get my hands on called Freedom Spitter. On the sides it is a bald eagle wearing Aviator sunglasses and spitting shuriken's while on the back he is dressed up like Uncle Sam. If I had the wall space and unlimited funds there's a few patterns I'd like to buy to go with my current one. If you ever decide to buy one in the future because you want something with fun art on it I will let you know in advance that they fight a little tighter than some other helmets of a similar size. They're tighter fitting to help reduce or block out noise while riding. :)
What are you doing for a phone mount for your Xmax? I saw for the 23-24 ones they have a universal stay that gives you a place to mount the phone or gps. But the usb charge station that goes where the Yamaha logo is in the center is extra.
Quad lock makes a phone holder that goes on the brake reservoir
I keep eyeing the Xmax… I even bought the oem lower seat off eBay from Italy. Should be in sometime in June or July. Lowers the seat height by 1.5” and narrows the front of the seat for easier reach just incase I decide to buy one.
That sounds like that’s going to be cool looking.
Gorgeous area, I'm in central Calif and it gets dry and dead and hot by mid summer and we gotta drive to the mountains to get some greenery. We got our stock Ruckus all dolled up with rear rack and storage bag and front bag, but I noticed you had foot pegs, where can I get those? How do they attach? Let's ride.
Honda Ruckus Custom Footrest Highway Bar Install and Review/ Foot Pegs ua-cam.com/video/Cx0pqZrTHnk/v-deo.html
Quad lock has a mirror mount.
I’ve seen those very nice!!!
Great ride man love the destinations you are visiting, getting my Xmax next week.
You will definitely enjoy it
That’s awesome! I’ve always been curious if they were highway capable, good to know!
wow very super 👍👍👍 Sikkim Sikkim Sikkim
Many many thanks
Hi, I just came across your channel and binge-watched your 2024 Ruckus review videos.I live in NYC and have been looking for a convenient bike for running errands. Do you think this would work well in the city? Also, have you mentioned in any of your previous videos if the seating can be modified to accommodate two people? Great job with the vlogs! 🤘
The bike would be perfect for the city. But not on the 2 seater
I'm in Canada and received my '24 XMAX one week ago that I had ordered in late March. Canadian model only comes in Raven Black with blue wheels and is otherwise identical to the US model with the double instrumentation. I'm 5'-6 and the seat is too high for me and hard. In fact, it is higher than other bikes I had that had a similar stated seat height, including a Burgman 650. Fortunately, it is light and has the typical low center of gravity of a scooter. I put the windshield in the highest of 2 positions to reduce turbulence at helmet level and put the rear shocks at the softest setting (I'm 160 pounds ready to ride). The proximity key is too much of a good thing and asks you to fiddle with the controller button for everything. Putting a key in the ignition is far simpler. The engine works well and is smooth and silent. In less than half a tank, I'm averaging 3.0L/100 km or 78 MPG US. You're correct about the Burgman 400 now way too expensive. $11K here in Canada, $2700. more than I paid for the 75 pounds lighter Yamaha. Must be in part because it is Hecho in Indonesia.
Thanks for the comment very helpful information

These little scooters are great. I bought a 2006 Majesty 400 new still own it today and love it. If your thinking about buying one of these don't hesitate. It's just so much fun!
Totally agree!
Its the battery
is this a good scooter for a 260lb rider or something bigger like the burgman 400?
It will do just fine!!
Beautiful day and great roads for a Ruckus ride. I did have to stop the video 10 min in as your scenic trickling water scenes made a bathroom visit more urgent lolz
😂
Do you have a link to the lower set and foot peg kit? Love my 2024 Honda Ruckus!

Thanks Dan... the Xmax is a very capable smaller bore machine. It's so capable that it warrants a cruise control accessory option for longer hauls. I see you hit 90 again. It's definitely the lower 70 temps that allows that. One thing you forgot to mention is the stability on the highway at those speeds. No scrambling on tar snakes or wobble at all. Very impressive ride, suspension, and balance for this size scooter. You just can't beat it for the price... Gord
Yes it was very stable and on wobbly I felt very comfortable
Hey Dan, When I view you riding the Ruckus on your country roads, it looks like you're going 50... when your only going around 30. This must be because you are very low to the ground and the sense speed is greater even though your going relatively slow. This seems to be what you enjoy... Slow speed thrills at a relaxing pace. I think that is what the attraction is for the Ruckus. And in order to get that setup, you had to go with the lower seat and floor peg extensions. It's a kind of sweet spot of enjoyment. But you really need the low traffic countryside to go with it in order to make that work.🤔 Gord
I was thinking the same thing. When I’m editing the footage it does seem I’m going much faster. I do enjoy the relaxing slower speed of the Ruckus, but on the other hand I love the faster speeds of the Xmax.
@@slowridersmotovlog201 I Guess it depends what frame of mind you are in at the time. There are guys out there that like to take these smaller bore (125-200cc) machines cross country. But when you work them that hard, they tend to break down due to heat over many hours day after day. Nevertheless, the engine/transmission of Honda's does better than the rest in that class. When you hit the 300cc class scooters both Vespa, Yamaha, Honda can all make it without any major breakdowns. We're talking 3,000-4,000 mile runs over a week's period, doing around 500 miles a day. Sometimes in 90°+ heat. It's really hard on them and starting out on fresh oil and changing the oil at 1500 miles really helps prevent premature wear under those conditions. The CVT belt drive in the Vespa's and Yamaha's seems to be a bit better than the Honda for some reason. This became apparent in last year's Scooter Cannonball Run. Quasimodtard's 200cc Honda scooter had multiple CVT failures. You study those UA-cam videos and you will find out which makes and models to stay away from. But the Vespa was rock solid... Gord Gord
You did just fine. I have a ct125 hunter cub or some call it the trail 125. It takes a second to get used to the centrifugal clutch and shifting. They are pretty much twist and go like a moped. I will say my Zuma 125 is faster. The Zuma has variable valve timing and you can feel it kick in. I like your videos. I am 50 soon to be 51 and I’ve been riding motorcycles and scooters since I was 18. My first little dirt / trail bike was a KX 75 Kawasaki it also had a centrifugal clutch, and I started riding it when I was six years old as a kid. Keep up the good videos.
Thanks I started to get use to it there after awhile.
You gonna add one to your fleet now after taking it for a spin? I got my scooters registration renewed for the season yesterday and I took it for a spin to the dealer down the street from my house today to get it inspected. So it's all setup and ready for some summer riding. I am eventually going to have to change the gear oil in it. But it has a fresh oil change from the end of last season that never got any miles put on it due to constant rain. So we're all good there. :)
It’s definitely a different experience and fun!!
@@slowridersmotovlog201 Indeed. I learned how to ride on my fathers Honda ATC 185S growing up and that's how it shifted. That format is what's referred to as semi-automatic. You're still doing all of the gear shifting but there's no clutch to fumble with. :)
I’m going to receive mine tomorrow May 17th of 2024 here in Japan. The same color as yours but 250cc because the 300 is not commercialized. Thanks for the review!!! I’m more excited now than ever 🥳🥳🥳
Great!! You will definitely enjoy your xmax
@@slowridersmotovlog201 ❤️thanks so much ❤️

I'm 73 yrs old and I just bought myself a Honda XR150L and a Honda Ruckus for my brudder, the XR is fun but the Ruckus is more fun, the dealer charged me $4,100 for the Ruckus included delivery and 4800 for the XR. I will make back my money just in the fun factor. And I got an Insta 360X4 to record it all. Let's ride.
Definitely enjoy that new ruckus and that great new camera
I've found sets of lost house keys and have always left them with the Police, this was in the pre-internet days, but I imagine that would still be someplace the owner would check. Either way it's a safe (24hr) place for them to be claimed, + it puts the responsibility of returning them to the proper owner on the authorities.
Definitely my next step
How far out of town are you co frontable taking tue honda rukus?
Like 14 miles on backroads
Nice ride! I've been hit with several bugs also😅 that time of year again.
Most definitely time to get the bug cleaner out
Need to ride that scarey road at night 😮
