I did a bare fists run of new vegas a while back and i have to say punching the giant robo scopion to death and it not being able to do anything about it was hilarious
The giant robo scorpion is hilariously pathetic. I've played through OWB twice, and only got hit once or twice by it in each run. The first time, I panicked and started dumping 5.56 AP into with a machine gun. Then I realized how much damage I was doing and how little I was taking, and just stood still until it died. The second time, 12 gauge pulse slugs from the front door was all I needed
I’ll be honest, I always thought the combat robots were never used properly in fallout 4. Sentry bots are very powerful, but easily hackable. Why the railroad never had P.A.M enter one for combat, or why the minutemen didn’t rebuild sarge, or hell, why the brotherhood didn’t use assaultrons or sentry bots.
I don't like the damage scaling or the combat style of the game. The guns that the sentrybots use is only deadly in the early game (but at that point even a radroach is). Later on they become too easy to kill by just standing and shooting. Assaultrons are similar too. The only difference is that they are 1 of the few enemies who close the distance, which works more as a scare tactic than anything else really. But they don't do it stealthily or use the environment properly (nothing does), which is real annoying since I want Ada to stand back more. I really wish the robots could HOLD weapons as opposed to them replacing hands.
Sentry bots have been easily hackable since the beginning of time, their rotation speed is terrible. The railroad never had P.A.M enter combat because A. Their a stealth operation and B. They cant exactly lose a robot that gives them 100% accurate predictive outcomes. Plus, how would the minutemen rebuild sarge, sturges isnt a robot mechanic.
The BOS uses gutsys and the railroad they are simply hypocrites and I don’t even think they view Pam as human and just used her for logistics purposes so a sentry bot wouldn’t even be worth their time considering how they act to other robots
There's also the Pacification Robots, with the 2-Story Behemoth (and likely ARGOS) versions...from Tactics and the Van Buren documents. They were quadrupedal multipurpose battery platforms meant to both "pacify" civilian rioters and hunt dangerous mobile military targets.
In my opinion Liberty Prime is the most awesome robot in this franchise. It’s like looking at a patriotic iron giant or Optimus prime. I will fully admit that I paid for the liberty prime power armor in 76(to me it was worth it). 😂. I really like that liberty prime just guards the airport(if you side with the BOS). He just one shots anything in his path. Gunners, Raiders, & Mirelurks just go flying when they get hit by the lasers lol 😂
One time, when i first started playing fo4, i started the cabot questline, i went to cabot house, and i saw the sentry bot, and just started shooting it, cuz i didn't really understand that they can be friendly, and i got absolutely fucked.
I still remember the time in FO4 ages ago I decided to hack a sentry bot n make it a temporary companion. Went well enough until of course I came upon such monolithic obstacles as….a doorway. Which the robot promptly did it’s best lydia impression and made it impossible to get through the door. Other times it would just vanish entering a building cell area n remain gone…until like 3 fast travels later when it suddenly shows up out of nowhere.
The last time i was afraid of a sentry bot was the first time i went into the hopeville silo with nothing but a service rifle and .45 auto pistol, I wasnt ready...
The X-42 isnt pre war, idk where you got that idea Mobius explicitly states he designed the robo scorpions after radscorpions because he admired their resilience.
Sentry Bots shouldn't attack the male character you play as in Fallout 4 due to him being a part of the military and should recognize that like Ironsides does so the only reason I can think of for the Sentry Bots (not the one reprogrammed by other groups) is that their database is corrupted and can't recognize the male player as part of the military
1:26 the head of a robot is a strong point and wont do much damage, aim at the chest or the weak point(usually the combat inhibitor, on sentry bots its the fusion cores.)
I was hoping there'd be something bigger and/or more advanced than Prime. Don't get me wrong, we all love the soil-decommunising, but I expected the psychopaths in the Fallout world would have created a M.B.C that could float and fly.
I wonder how much the average AC bill went up during the summer in the FO universe bc of the fiery exhausts on the Mr. Handies? And if the heating bills went down? Sounds like a game theory video to be made…
I love Fallout’s automation except when they outright replace human personnel. It’s a neat idea but the robots in Charleston, Watoga and Camp McClintock speak for themselves. The former are even programmed to pretend they’re bored and taking artificially long coffee breaks and the others just inevitably loop their logic to killing everything when presented with any problem. Supplemental drones and automated processing, construction, manufacturing, etc are great though. The giant roboscorpion I think is a neat idea as a giant combat mech instead of Liberty Prime.
The difference in fallout 3 / new Vegas sentry bots and fallout 4 sentry bots is crazy. They looked kinda goofy before but in 4 they’re genuinely terrifying, specially with that red light in their head
Sentry bots are easy to kill, a person with a pipe pistol can kill them with no issues. The perks that let you punch through walls wil allow you to target the fusion cores directly and destroy them with ease. I have killed many sentry bots with pipe revolver rifles in fo4. I have had more issues with assaultrons then sentry bots. ====== The Motherload I liked, it saddened me when she died. I wish we could have saved her AI in a form of a robot or as a PC program that we could have set up in our camp.
I disa with you on the Sentrybot, unless you're stuck in it's line of fire, I find that even the ones equipped with missile launchers are easy enough to defeat. It's usually the rad filled explosion that dow more damage to me.
The sentry bot was over kill on the USAs part like imagine being a Chinese soldier with a bum ass rifle then seeing a t51b trooper with a fat man and then a fucking sentry bot that’s even more mad and that just wiped out a platoon in a second
Ngl, SB are weak af because of the “dead time” when they go into overheat mode in 4. As for NV/3 they aren’t that bad but still weaker compared to DC’s (without abusing crossbow)
*Ya know when i got the autamatron dlc i was kinda hoping i can put power armor pieces/ add power armor on the robot itself, but then again this is Bethesda so i kinda am asking for alot, now im just hoping for modders to do this* *Actually is there a mod?*
Surely that stupid drill thing from 76 wouldn't actually be able to move anywhere underground? The drill head is at least a couple of feet smaller than the diameter of the body of the drill machine itself.
It boggles me, how is a mister handy a suitable robot indors when it literally relies on rocket thrust propulsion to stay afloat, wouldnt that be a bio hazard filling the rooms with exhaust gasses, thus unsuitable for baby nurisng in hostpitals?
Love the trooper attacking the Chimera with his bare hands.
Can you give me the time stamp please?

The sentry bot is so cool. In 76 a friendly one will guard you as a random encounter. He fought a legendary sheepsquatch and won lol
