is that one-handed? cause if so, then i don't see any reason why it shouldn't work when dual wielding too(personally i find the running R2 to be an ok chasedown even when using dual, despite JL1 technically being better)

The counter strike has decent hyperarmor I think + there’s a talisman that boosts guard counters and a 2-hand sword talisman. I’m kinda OP right now and the fact you can put it to use on any weapon with any AOW, all you have to do is block on reflex? Crazy.
The part I’m needing much clarification on is how in some clips on UA-cam of it, it looks like people are just holding block all through a stream of attacks whereas for me in-game it feels like I have to block each attack.
PS: to get it you have to beat the first Fire Golem Giant thing in the Shadowrealm. Stance break it till it falls down 2 or 3 times and then it’s the critical hits that do the most damage.

Great vids Rust Bucket, they make me improve alot in PvP. But i also know one secret combo nobody knows bout. Combo chuggin. If you crouch while chuggin hp and mp flasks, on crouch they skip changin of bottles animation. You save like 1.5 seconds of time. Enjoy. Found that combo on one of the first days at release still noone noticed it yet.
i wish there was a way to negate to some degree the poise disadvantage u get from not bein at 109+, sometimes i just wanna do a cosplay build and not get stunned by every single thing that hits me, but we push on and prevail

yea the hitbox viewer is enabled, you were seeing the sleep cloud effect. all of the mist type stuff has an expanding hitbox, as well as some other stuff, but theres not a metric that i know of that i could look up every instance of them.
huh, had no idea that bloodflame talon combod in so many things if getting damage stun level 1 or 0 through sleep... one other reason to love one of my favorite spells 👀

Question 1: Why doesn’t the Maliketh BB ash of war consistently combo? Is this a poise thing? Seems like the first hit only combos into the follow up if it hits super late Question 2: can you do a quick follow up video about the stun/poise damage of certain spells? Stone of gurranq, bloodflame talons, dragons talons, great blade phalanx, basically anything with lvl 2 stun or higher I really like spellblade builds but I nobody really covers the spell/incant side of these topics
im really not at all familiar with most sorceries and incants. i spend the majority of my time just learning the melee mechanics, so i wouldnt be a great person to ask. it will probably be something i get more into with the dlc
honestly i'm not sure it would even make sense to make a video on those at this point, in 5 days the dlc and patch come out, and imho poise values will change across the board to accomodate the poor implementation on some weapons and to fit better the new weapons and spells.

It just depends on your matchup. 89 for 2h weapons, 115 for 1h, 133 for psss. I need to look into any poise damage value changes for ofher things like spin slash, stormhawk, ect. But ill do a vid eventually, im still waiting on seemless to updatw

Probably, ive been in the arena alot lately, but mostly just fuckin around with stupid shit and trying to see if i can make dumb stuff work. Offhand cs is more of a pressure tool than anything. It keeps people from being comfortable with rolling in against those setups that dont have good keepout
@@iota-09 no, pseudo combo. Remember, true means youre unable to roll at all. Pseudo means it roll catches. Stormhawk roll catches if they roll in or to the side

Is (war cry) giant crusher R2 to R1 a true combo? I find myself encountering instances where my opponent can’t or doesn’t roll away, and some of them manage to escape. Could this be a latency thing? Or was it never a true combo in the first place?
I dunno the exact frame data on it but i know its supposed to be true. The might be getting hit with an early frame of the r2 into a later frame of the r1, letting them escape. Latency doesnt affect the reliability of a true combo, but how the game reads player position, changing which frame the player is hit by can, and elden ring notoriously does a shit job of tracking player position
The combo is cr1-headshot-cr1, but after the second cr1, they can escape due to damage count 2, you cant chain it any longer than that unless their mashing out of hitstun to reset their damage count

its all part of the process you know. we're all always learning, the vids are meant to give you the information to help you improve along the way. but everything takes time and practice
it's an art: first you gotta learn the basics and the rules, so that you can later break those rules and actually have fun with what have you. (it's unironically why imho the most fun level playing field in these games is medium-high, at that step where people are actually good, but not so much that they'll just tryhard and use only meta setups 24/7, although even some at the top level like frosty do, props to those)
@@iota-09 It's indeed interesting, It's understandable that from a certain point of view in a medium-high level of skill there's more fun than the top. The top knows correctly how to get any advantage from the weapon used and probably know how to exploit the weaknesses of others

No idea, theres “technically” 8 levels of hitstun, but the others are just things like different knockdown thpes, faceplant vs falling on their back kinda thing. Dunno why they made it 8 for those weapons tho, weirdge
Its the same concept as negative spacing. I just have to strafe it enough to dodge it on their screen. It looks like it hits me on mine but im just walking through the shadow of where it used to be. Watch closely how i strafe in the clip. If you need a better explanation, check the video on spacing, that should clear it up

@@iota-09 i know the storage glitch ur refering to. I dont know of any that exist. Maybe last frame jr1 of ugs into first frame r1, but i havent tested. Ultimately you never want to position yourself to deplete your stamina in the first place, so its not worth setting up anyway
now watch as half of these true combos don't work anymore in patch 1.11.1... (1.11 was played in the redbull event and it was buggy af, so i'm betting we'll get a 1.11.1 or 1.12)

I managed to make him show jr1->r1 2 of milady which felt like hts jump combo in terms of speed, fists 1 handed and odachi one handed, the latter seeming much more usable than when 2-handed(but most surely not having hyper armor)

I appreciate this kind of content, but I just can't take pvp in this game seriously. It's so utterly braindead. Worst fromsoft pvp by far, and the dlc is just going to make it worse
No ones asking you to take it seriously, have fun with it, do weird shit, create funny builds and come up with cool synergies. If you want to take it seriously then dont do it in the ranom arena, go to ladder where all the braindead shit is banned
Some people have made really good use of free aimed ones and im always blown away with how consistsnt they can be. The people that i know who do it are KBM though and i play controller, still possible but alot harder

Can you explain the three hit combo for Godfrey’s axe? Warcry r2 +offhands. The frame data would suggest that the offhand attack wouldn’t combo.
Offhand attack combo is with anything 14 frames and faster. Free aimed it can go to 16 frames

You can get headshots with CR1 on UGS into another CR1 into another headshot, lol. It's hard to keep them looking at you, but it happens.

Cheat engine. You turn on a function called “damage management” and it enables the hitbox viewer

Theres a hidden mechanic in the game where if you dont get hit, then you dont take damage. Spinning is fun, so therefore, spin

Very informative video as always Rust! You and WaZeus have normalized headshots so I’m curious what’s your opinion on free aimed ones?
Some people have made really good use of free aimed ones and im always blown away with how consistsnt they can be. The people that i know who do it are KBM though and i play controller, still possible but alot harder
