You're still better off going for Samurott anyways, since you can catch Emboar 2.0, aka Darmanitan later on, while Samurott is probably the best water type in the game.
6:11 In Gen IV and earlier (and maybe Gen V I don't remember), you need to buy ten at a time, in different purchases, to get the best benefit from premier balls. In earlier gens, if you buy 10 or more balls, you will always get one premier ball. So if you want 30 balls, but 10, then buy 10, then buy 10 again. And that will give you 3 premier balls. This is not the case for newer gens, thanfully.
Currently playing through Omega Ruby randomised and as a Nuzlocke. I can confirm that you can't buy 20 pokeballs and get 2 premier balls. You'll need to buy 10 and then 10 again. Something I did learn is that you can get premier balls in the same way even if you buy great balls or better.

If I needed to use false swipe on a ghost type, I used foresight. Never had a problem with story challenges and if I encountered a shiny, I was ready. It surprised me that you don't recommend choosing Rowlet.
I love my decidueye but I had lots of story challenges. On my second playthrough with litten it was far easier. But let's be honest Decidueye has the coolest pokemon design that ever existed

The thing that fascinates me most about the gym leader skips in RBY is that you are practically free to do all gyms between 3-7 in order, but you HAVE to do Giovanni last, because he just doesn't show up if you have less than 7 badges.
As an extension to your first point about talking to everyone for free stuff, another top tip (especially in the first few generations) is that there are hidden items EVERYWHERE. The itemfinder was not very user friendly so I just got into a habit of smashing A wherever I walked. So many poke balls, potions, antidotes and rare candies!
I’ve never noticed the difference in colour on the cross on Nurse Joy’s hat so it’s good to know that it can help to know which season I’m watching of the anime or how far I’m into it. Thanks for that fact
This video has made me realize how mistreated grass starters are. Aside from Bulbasaur, Aura didn't recommend any of the grass starters, and even warned against some like Snivy and Chikorita. It's funny because I love so many of the grass starters and am using Snivy for my BW and BW2 playthroughs against advice. I just love the Snivy line, so much nostalgia, and Ash's sassy Snivy definitely gives it a clear character in my mind.
mistreated? most grass starters are objectively terrible. Bulbasuar and Treecko are the only grass starters that do better than their fire and water counterparts
2:05 I am actually going to disagree with this very much. I'm doing solo runs in Pokemon Black right now to see how good each pokemon is on it's own and I found Snivy has been my favorite so far. I was a Tepig fan before so this was a shock for me personally. Set up moves are very effective in Pokemon Black, especially since leveling up is such a drag. Snivy gets Growth before the first gym, and late game can have Coil. My final move set was Coil, Leaf Blade, Giga Drain, and Leech Seed. Worked like a flipping charm, I didn't even break a sweat.
oshawott is best then tepig then snivy but they all amazing (1st stage anyways) i think they are 1 of the best group of starters up there with torchic, treeko and mudkip in my opinion
The best starter for Kalos is a bit reliant on whether or not you use the Kanto starter (the most optimal of which is still Bublasaur). If you're gonna use the Kanto starter, Fennekin is arguably your best bet because it gets Psychic attacks against Korrina before Charmander gets Flying attacks. Very situational detail, but it's there
Fact #1 is especially useful in BDSP because if you played let’s go and Sword and Shield, and you talk to the right NPCs, you get TWO mythical pokémon!

i don’t think a lot of people think about the fact that pokemon has unspoken difficulty levels depending on the starter u choose. chikorita is considered the “bad” johto starter, but i like to pick it sometimes as sort of a “hard” mode
One of my favorite tips that I’ve learned is an EXP trick in HG/SS involving the daycare. They are possibly the hardest games in the series, but this trick makes the game much easier. Put two of your mons in the daycare, then fly to the gym in Ecruteak city, find an object heavy enough to push down the up arrow on the d-pad (such as a book, personally, I recommend Stephen King’s IT), walk into the gym, rest the object on the d-pad, and abusing the system in the gym where if you fall off the ledge, you teleport back to the start, you can have your character move infinitely whilst you do other productive things. I did this over night a couple of times and got my team from level 40 to 100 in the about 4 days.
For those who want a non-memey answer as to the best Gen 9 starter, it's Fuecoco. It's super effective against the two lowest leveled gyms, keeps solid momentum against 3 lategame gyms, matches well defensively against 3 of the 5 Star Bases, and matches well against one of the Titans (arguably 2 in Violet) It's so amazing that some Nuzlockes actually suggest you ban it for your playthroughs to give yourself at least a little more challenge.
Btw, no matter what, you’d be best off picking scorbunny, provided, you grab a rookidee and make it corviknight. And another thing, you can tell by ash’s cap alone.
ayy i did the pokemon quiz recently too (admittedly not fully, made it to 745 pokemon with most of the missing pokemon being from galar) and i used the same strategies (thinking about all gym leaders, elite four members and champions and their teams, considering categories like the ones you named + regional bugs/birds and pseudo-pseudo legendaries) and i also used weird evolution methods (extremely high levels, trading with items etc) and type combinations (named all of the types and then attempted to name at least one pokemon with each combination before moving on). I'm sure that you may have tried/considered trying these additional methods and simply didn't have time to mention them in the video but I thought I would leave them in the comments for anyone else who is interested in trying the pokemon quiz :)
In Unova, I literally sold all of my potions and lived off of only Casteliacones, Moomoo milks, and Revival Herbs. Speaking of Unova, I have another (not very useful tbh) fact: There's only 1 region with relevant gym leaders.
I really really loved all the amazing secret base features: being able to harvest "unlimited" rare stones, rare items, berries, O-Powers (remember those?!) and of course power leveling in minutes. One of the best features for pokemon breeders in any game that I can think of.
The revival herb was my favorite item in the Black and White games and I had no clue what it was doing to my Pokémon. I’m sure that they all HATED me 😂
Regarding point 15, skippable gyms: Playing Emerald, I always used to make the delivery to Steven Stone BEFORE taking on Brawly’s gym, just to flex on him. I had the path through that place memorized.
0:42 If you talk to an old man in one of the towns at the very beginning of beginning of Shining pearl(not too long after the first gym) he gives you a Jirachi
4:20 (nice) I have been practicing for a long time to name all pokemon in natdex order and this is a really fun site to practise, thanks! I tried to do it btw. Took an hour and fifteen minutes and didn't get the order completely right, but I'm proud
The thing about using the vending machine drinks is very true. I tend to use them to heal small amounts of HP so I don't waste potions. While you can't buy them in bulk, some games let you buy multiples of a drink in one go (without having to do the whole dialogue sequence over). In SwSh I found an easy way to get free items is to do Poké Jobs. Every time I'd go to a Pokémon Center I'd apply for as many as I could. Your boxed Pokémon earn EXP, and you get items! A lot of the time it'll be curry ingredients (especially at lower levels), but you can also get evolution stones, rarer Poké Balls, and even money this way (I got 12k Pokédollars from a few of my recent ones). You can also use the Hammerlocke University Poké Jobs (which are always available once unlocked) to help raise specific stats. I've also gotten free curry ingredients from random players in the Wild Area and DLC areas when online. Plus you can get items sometimes from raids (mostly EXP candies but also sometimes TMs I think). Thanks for the Riolu tip for Gen 5. I've only played a bit of both White and White 2 (like 1 or 2 gyms in) and would like to get back to them soon.
10:45 well actually a max potion is far, far better because you can heal your pokémon in just one turn of a battle in a playthrough. I do understand where you are coming from though because of out of battle there are no turns.
11:54 For x/y, once you clear out the power plant, there's a dude in a side room next to the giant area where you fight team flare. Initially he sells fresh water for 300 per bottle, but after beating the evil team scientist, it's 100 per bottle.
The way I pick my pokemon is through like what type I choose before for example in kanto I choose charmsnder so in johto I choose todidile and in hoenn I choose Treecko. Then i chose chimchar in sinnoh, snivy in unova bc i actually loved it design. Froakie in kalos and rowlet in alola bc I loved the idea of a archer. And in galar I choose scorbunny, so I'm forced to pick quaxly
heres a tip for ya, when ya play black and white or black and white 2, stock up on lilliepups with pickup as their ability and slowly make your team, that way you can get stuff like potions, pokeballs and hyper potions early and consistent enough
Turtwig would be a good pokemon for sinnoh in my opinion. Good against Roark, Wake, Byron, Volkner, and Bertha. Grotle resists most of Gardenia's moves, bite for Fantina, rock moves to cover it's weaknesses, and it's tanky. Infernape is still better though
Useful facts for Pokémon artists/animators: •Some Pokémon’s official art have inaccurate color schemes or proportions. For best results, use sprites and models as references instead. •In Sword and Shield (and probably other games with 3D models), you can use the Pokédex to turn a Pokémon’s model and look at it from more angles. You can also use “Check movements” to look at their attack animations. •You can find compilations of all Pokémon’s walk and run animations on UA-cam. This is useful, as some Pokémon move in unexpected ways (Drizzile walks on all fours!). •Pokémon whose models are flying or doing a complex battle stance (like Medicham) have a secondary “normal” idle pose. If you make a Pokémon your buddy in Pokémon GO, then click on their icon next to your avatar icon, you can see this pose. For many Pokémon, it’s easier to use as a reference.
Red/blue/yellow butterflies with confusion is normally my go to but their always Mankey what is also used for the 3rd gym. In firered Charmander gets metal claw. And beat every trainer u can before fighting her. Including the ss and I know seismic toss was a go-to
On the subject of skipping gym leaders I accidentally skipped Surge in my fr/LG playthrough years ago and didn't realize I was missing him until I got to the league.
11:00 this reasoning is actually the reason why the only balls I buy are regular Poké Balls, Quick Balls, and Dusk Balls (the last one is purely for cosmetic effect). Quick Balls have a 5× modifier on the first turn, so they're worth their price, but Great Balls only increase effectiveness by 50% but cost thrice the price, and Ultra Balls are 6× the price and only double the total effectiveness. This means that you're almost always going to be better off throwing regular Poké Balls because you can buy so many more of them that you can afford to take extra turns. Dusk Balls also aren't _really_ worth it, but they fit well, thematically, with my Dark-types, so I usually have my main team in Dusk Balls.
Since I play the games in German but mostly watch Poketubers who speak English I might have an especially hard time at the name remembering game. Either I know the German name, or the English name, or both (sometimes neither XD) and I often can't keep apart which belongs to which language.
I don’t know if anyone knows this but in Pokémon sword and shield in the town with the water gym if you go to the market you can get these herbs which are full restores for 2800

Primarina is objectively the best starter for sun and moon, because it has the type advantage over all of the kahunas and a good amount of the trials.
It's also worth mentioning that Primarina is the only starter that doesn't suffer from any major disadvantages against any of the elite four:
*It has a major type advantage against both Hala and Olivia
*Access to ice beam gives you a decent match-up against Kahili
*It also gets shadow ball to deal with Acerola's ghosts (don't know how many people are aware of this)

I’m doing a DTQ for my first ever playthrough of a Gen 5 game, and Snivy is my starter. I never knew how bad a Pokemon’s movepool could be. Holy
21. Lechonk is gonna gain them lestonks
I don’t know if these are better than the useless ones or not. Both are just so entertaining!
4:20 (nice)
I have been practicing for a long time to name all pokemon in natdex order and this is a really fun site to practise, thanks!
I tried to do it btw. Took an hour and fifteen minutes and didn't get the order completely right, but I'm proud
I was half expecting this to be "Number 1, you can select an attack to do damage."
I have watched every single aura guardian video
I never know if these will be shitposts or serious, and it's pretty great
The thing about using the vending machine drinks is very true.

For x/y, once you clear out the power plant, there's a dude in a side room next to the giant area where you fight team flare. Initially he sells fresh water for 300 per bottle, but after beating the evil team scientist, it's 100 per bottle.
That number 20 is super interesting, never thought about it that way.. wow
thanks for the 20 useful pokemon facts, auraguardian.
i like how the graphics and editing hasn't changed over the years lmao, the vids looked exactly like this when i first subbed in 2016
The way I pick my pokemon is through like what type I choose before for example in kanto I choose charmsnder so in johto I choose todidile and in hoenn I choose Treecko. Then i chose chimchar in sinnoh, snivy in unova bc i actually loved it design. Froakie in kalos and rowlet in alola bc I loved the idea of a archer. And in galar I choose scorbunny, so I'm forced to pick quaxly
Hey woah snivy was an amazing pick she saved my run for the elite 4
heres a tip for ya, when ya play black and white or black and white 2, stock up on lilliepups with pickup as their ability and slowly make your team, that way you can get stuff like potions, pokeballs and hyper potions early and consistent enough
Alex is a better guide than most guides in the games
Useful facts for Pokémon artists/animators:
•Some Pokémon’s official art have inaccurate color schemes or proportions.
3:20 when the grass is sussy
In gen 5 and earlier, you have to by 10 Pokeballs at a time for Premierballs as you can't get multiple at a time pre-XY.
I can confirm that the last tip is really useful for all Pokémon related topics👍
Omg! It is really here?
MY FAV POKETUBER POSTED! =D
Red/blue/yellow butterflies with confusion is normally my go to but their always Mankey what is also used for the 3rd gym. In firered Charmander gets metal claw. And beat every trainer u can before fighting her. Including the ss and I know seismic toss was a go-to
Thank Arceus its a totally serious and normal video
Ooh! Friend of mine actually streamed the Pokémon name challenge with Twitch integration. So it was a team effort.
On the subject of skipping gym leaders I accidentally skipped Surge in my fr/LG playthrough years ago and didn't realize I was missing him until I got to the league.
I always skip gyms and complete them in different orders if I can. It’s satisfying to have a team of Pokémon you wouldn’t normally have then.
Pokemon really be healing more from normal human drinks than medicine designed specifically for healing them
About number 8, I usually try to name all of them as quickly as possible, my best time is just under 29 minutes
About the free shinies fact, in USUM, the ultra wormholes’s non-legendaries/ultra beasts have a high chance of being a shiny.
