  • Welcome to this 10 Minute morning routine of somatic exercises which involves gentle movements designed to help you connect with your body. It promotes mind-body awareness, to help reduce stress and anxiety. Somatic, derived from the ancient Greek word "Soma," translates to "the living body in its wholeness."

    I just was in bed for 15 hours due to flue. Came to the mat with backpain and bad thoughts. 10 minutes with you release tension mentally and physically. Keep doing what you do, it‘s reaching far.

    This was a powerful session. The awkward movements were difficult to adjust to but yielded great results. I'd love you to do a 30 minute somatic class.

    Love the 10 min class. My nagging hip/back acted up and need to shut down other exercises for a few days. This is perfect for healing. I felt so relaxed in the AM I’m did it again before bed. Thank you ❤

    I did have trouble following this because I was on the floor and computer on the desk. Hard to see the screen when lying flat on your back. I loved the gentleness of the movements though., stretching without a lot of effort. thanks, Tim.

    Thank you, I loved the short class and for me and introduction into somantic movement. I will definitely look into more of this practice. I was confused by the cones in the background thinking they were some large termite hill type structures and wondered where in the world you could be, until the lady appeared from behind one and I realised they were just the folded umbrellas.It's interesting how ones perspective can shift when we have more information.

    Hi Tim, first time doing such a class… really strange for me to feel so relaxed and centered after such a short time. Will you be doing longer classes? I think this style would also enhance yin movements. Thanks for the introduction to

      Pretty much, yes. & Using gravity to your advantage to let the body relax so you don’t have to fight against it.

      I began studying Iyengar yoga with Megan Bello, Anna Delury, Manouso Manos and Paul Cabanis. After studying with Vinnie Marino, I realized I could take ideas from my Iyengar foundation and blend them into my own style of Vinyasa Flow.

      @@yogawithtim that’s beautiful. I’m a very new yoga teacher. Just had my first 200 hour training, I haven’t taught a class yet and I thought your style was very unique and lovely. Thanks for sharing the information.
      I spent 15 years chronically ill, with two of the last years of it bed ridden. I healed myself through yoga and lifestyle changes and I’m trying to decide the direction I want to go with this. The blend you’ve created seems very healing and well rounded.

    What makes this “somatic” the idea behind yoga is to connect breathing and mind with physical movement. This seems no different than typical yoga.

      The title 😂
      Taking away gravity to help the body relax more in the movements by practicing lying down or seated, reapeating movements instead of static poses. A bit different than classic yoga
