It was truly criminal how much he was overlooked and undervalued by the mainstream industry. He was born of the rarified air above and blessed us all even for a short time.

YES!! I've requested this many times, and I knew your minds would absolutely be blown! Great reaction you guys! You nailed it. Jeff was a legend.
A little background on him; Jeff lost his eyesight at the age of 1 to retinal cancer. At age 3, he started to learn guitar. He learned to hold it in the traditional way but, later preferred to have it on his lap. He is from Canada, and had several hits here in the US. Most notably a ballad called "Angel Eyes". He also co-starred in a movie with Patrick Swayze called "Roadhouse". Sadly in 2008, Jeff lost a battle to cancer when he was once again stricken. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest guitarist ever but, is sadly overlooked. Next to the likes of Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray etc. Rip Jeff Healy. 😢🎸

I remember, as a kid, the dude who tuned my piano was blind. He would walk to our house by himself. He would take as many clues that he could to get around. He would count the cracks in the sidewalks to know when he reached our house!!! The first time I saw Jeff was at an open mic at some dive on Yonge St in Toronto. I went there to support some friends who had formed a band. We were all awe struck at Jeff. There were no more than 20-30 people there.

He was one of a kind and truly inspirational - I've never heard of anyone who knew him personally say a single bad thing about him, and he was a huge fan of jazz and operated a jazz radio station in Canada for many years. He is well worth diving WAY into the rabbit hole for... even his unreleased music is better than 95% of everyone else's A-game.

@@flyntplatz3724 Absolutely. The other show opener that blew away the headliner was Loudness, who opened for Ratt. We didn't speak Japanese, but Akira wiped the floor with Ratt... who aren't slouches by any stretch of the imagination.

His cover of while my guitar gently weeps is exceptional. Sadly, the same thing that took Jeffs eye sight as a child took him from us a few years ago. now he truly makes heavenly music. In my opinion Jeff is top 5 all time best.

I got to see him in Niagara Falls at an outdoor concert on New Years Eve. It was snowing, he was jamming. Beat NYE I have had to date

Saw Jeff live twice in Manchester UK. 1989 & 1993. The sounds coming out his guitar were unreal. It is definitely an advantage to be able to use his left thumb in the way that he does.

Talk about inspiring, and jaw dropping, and yes indeed, New Orleans' own Dr. John tickling the ivories. Epically epic.

He had a brief, but possibly iconic short speaking role in Road House. If you know, you know.

Jeff was a bad man on that guitar. There is a video of Jeff and SRV playing together you might enjoy. It's titled " Look at Little Sister"

What truly amazes me is, he is the only guitarist that doesn't us a guitar strap. The strap suspends the guitar allowing the guitarist to use both hands freely. How Jeff stands up and plays blows my mind.

Absolutely great .... and, by God - that piano player is the legendary Dr. John.
