This man successfully returned Thors belongings to Helga and vowed that he would bring her son home, no matter what. In a world with ZERO long range communication, zero form of personal identification and with Thorfinn possibly being literally anywhere in the world, Leif spent 16 years of his life, using up even most of his golden years to fulfill his promise and in the end, brought Thorfinn home. Leif did more than good. Leif is the greatest to ever do it. The GOAT. The man. The myth. The legend.
Also, as a side note. 10:35 Despite the anime being pretty much 1 to 1 with the manga with a few alterations, this scene was entirely changed and I don't really like it as much as the manga sequence. Ylva and Thorfinn converse over a haircut. Thorfinn is obviously very scraggly and needs to be trimmed up, so Ylva does it for him. Thorfinn *specifically* tells her to not touch his beard, because we find out that on a personal level, Thorfinn believes that all grown men should have beards. They discuss Thors like normal and they conclude with Ylva patting Thorfinn's head, stating "The shape of someone's head never changes. I finally have some proof that it's really you." and it's a very sweet, wholesome moment that calls back to when they used to have huddle for warmth in the same bed due to the cold. Thorfinn falls asleep shortly after in the middle of the haircut and wakes up to find his beard completely shaven. Ylva believes that Thorfinn should get married and settle down and thinks men should be clean shaven for women.
My mom was murdered last October and this episode literally motivated me to apologize to her for something a few months before she died. Helped give me closure knowing I had that conversation.❤️

I hope season 3 comes sooner than later since it's gonna adapt one of the other best arcs of the series, the BSW arc might honestly have my favorite version of Thorfinn. I also just love short hair Thorfinn because of how it parallels his younger self with shorter hair.

Absolutely love this season grew up with a hardworking single mom so Arnheids arc was really impactful but when I watched thorfinn and his mom reunite I absolutely broke down truly a touching moment, this is the thing that makes me enjoy season 2 over 1 it’s just absolute cinema
i myself see the hairstyles like memorials to thors and askeladd the long hairstyle totally resembles thors and his beard he has was totally like askeladds and now at the end of season 2 he has his old little thorfinn hairstyle coming full circle
Goat reaction, not only to this one but the entire series. I recommend rewatching season 1 finale and season 2 first and second chapter. You really see them with different eyes after ending season 2, and it's very fulfilling

I will miss your VS reactions, even though i know you'll continue on with other great shows (still holding out of 86 in the hopefully not too distant future) But VS has just been special for you, and therefore for me. For a lot of us. Thorfinn apologizing to his mom will never not choke me up. She handled that so well too, what sheer love, to be able to not only easily recognize her son after so long, but also to just expect that he has gone through hell, sensing his vulnerability and regret, and treat him with such tenderness. They really knocked this one out of the park i feel. Don't see that often. Love the ending highlighting the "beginning" of the journeys for Thors/Helga, Leif, and Askeladd, and finally Thorfinn. While we know that his journey actually began a long time ago, and in a way already feels complete and full-circle, this is still such a great setup for the future arcs, can't wait! ❤

I'm repeating this comment. Since you finish Vinland Saga can I recommend checking out Naoki Urasawa's works? (This Author is also considered one of the GOATs) "Monster" adapted in 2005 with 74 episodes and "Pluto" adapted in 2023 with 8 episodes (1 hour each). These are worth watching.
After Vinland saga I highly recommend watching Kingdom it's a seinen manga based on the unification of China historical events,the story and the characters development are peak you'll enjoy it
I just find it so awesome that Ylva inherited her father's physical strength. Yes Thorffin is strong, but she took him out with one hit, something Drott the bear killer couldn't even do with a direct hit. Thorffin on the other hand inherited his father's spirit, ideology and stoicism.

A lot of people are asking for Monster, which is great, but there’s a lot more options, as well. Violet Evergarden, Death Note, Hunter x Hunter. Maybe you’ve seen some of these, but if you haven’t, I’d suggest these next along with Monster.
When you see flashes of Vinland you see no one there because it's in their heads and for now it's just a dream land for them. But it's an actual place, and you already know who should be there When it comes to seasons there should be at least 4 if they plan to wrap up the whole manga. Maybe 5 if the manga goes on for too long in the final arc, but currently I'm pretty sure S2 ends around chapter 100 and there are around 200 chapters, current arc is the last one
