I'm glad you connected with Snake revealing his real name, a lot of people just go "aw that's nice" but there's so much more to it than that. Snake had been running from his past his whole life, and then he met Thorfinn, a warrior who he could call a peer. Someone who accepted his sins and carried them on his back. Instead of wallowing in his own misery for his past deeds he instead used them to be a more honest and better person. I know Roald telling Thorfinn and Einar that was the beginning of his journey of looking forward.

I remember reading something that explained the poem. “Carve what you feel into me” means to follow after me. To follow after people like Thors, and then carve that feeling into everything and anything- the land, the sea, the food, your friends and enemies. Carve the kindness into it all.
The crescendo that is this episode is just unreal. The weight and emotion packed into every scene, every frame... At this point the story feels like it's gone on for at least 4 seasons of story, and i mean that in the best way. Olmar's words used to describe Thorfinn: "Strong and kind" - what a simple, yet perfect way to describe what Thorfinn has become, and it just hits.
There are some anime made for the hype or action packed scenes per episode. But there are some anime just like this one, made purely to be experienced.
Everyone in the farm had to get to work, remember they lost a lot of the farmers fighting Canute, however, whether they had to work or not It still sends a strong message to CARVE IT into the land , i’m sure every character of the farm was influenced in some way by the events and how they unfolded. Pretty good show, one of my favorites!
your reactions and deep talks have been absolutely wonderful. one of the best reactors I have ever come across. vinland saga truly is the best anime I have ever seen, and one of the best pieces of fiction I have ever seen
This is an absolute masterpiece. Thank you for your reaction. Considering how you assessed the attack of the Titans, the beginning of the Vinland saga, I already knew then that you would appreciate this work. about "carve it" - I also wanted to get a tattoo of this phrase after this episode, I was surprised when you said the same thing) Thanks again for the peak reaction❤
I believe Canute retreated because Thorfinn did more than just bargain for the farm, he made Canute question the very reason behind all what he was doing. It wasn't a diplomatic discussion, but a philosophical one.
He also greatly surprised him. Everyone knows Thorfinn was one of the most hateful and murderous warriors. But even then HE turned around despite being a Viking. And he got himself beat up simply just say “please no.” Canute felt relief. He felt relief because he’s constantly targeted. That paranoia seeped it’s way into his mindset, forcing him to always take drastic and threatening measures against potential enemies. He saw Thorfinn as that. But no, he wasn’t. Thorfinn gave Canute a mental warmth, that he is no danger. I think Canute not only questioned his actions, but wants to take after Thorfinn, and believe that’s the true methodology to achieve world peace.
Snake has really changed, he gave his name and, for the first time, he's working in the field. Olmar has changed too. It's not just them Thorfinn has also changed many lives, both directly and indirectly. In S1 E4, Thors said that he still depends on his sword because he hasn't mastered it yet. Thorfinn, however, has resolved the issue without a sword, thus becoming a true warrior the ost and animation are really befitting of the manga. What a show !
I understand now why Canute so readily dropped his forces. In Thorfinn, he not only saw a truly good person - he saw the love of God. It's why Thorfinn is halo'd with the sun's light in that moment. He saw another path that had been hidden by the cruelty of man for so long, another way of doing things and achieving his goals. That maybe, just maybe, man's nature isn't unending and explicit violence. Maybe God's love is still buried underneath the surface and just needs to be found. I'm also impressed at Thorfinn's action - or, inaction, in a way. It left only room for true and honest talks to spring forth. To make killing him a less satisfying option than just hearing him out and trying to reconcile their differences together in a way that benefits everyone.
I watched a podcast called mindpump where they had a guest who talked about how some people have found happiness and the science behind happiness and how some people manage to find their peace and find their purpose and I relate so much to the warriors of the farm joining in and helping and getting blisters and calluses but you know they find so much peace in that hard work, because they now know the alternative and how grim and horrible life can be. I had my own brushes with the horrors of life many times throughout my young years and it left me bitter and angry. I eventually found peace through service, and work, and serving my community. No one knows how deep it feels, I've been in jail, i've been homeless, the peace I feel when I'm working hard at work with good intentions, going home to a peaceful home where I cook food I paid for, and enjoy luxuries I paid/pay for, knowing how dark it could be... I can't even put it into words but sometimes it makes my eyes well up thinking about the journey to get here, the darkness I was ready to embody. Life's insane.

Swanii you are by far the best reactor I’ve ever seen. Its been so great seeing your development throughout the story and you also remind me of Thors haha
i absolutely love the story u told at 28:50 . vinland saga teaches real life lessons and it just goes to show that forgiveness is the way. revenge is the easy method but it only leads to more feelings of negativity and emptiness, true forgiveness is a lot harder but it’s so much more positive and fulfilling for a persons life. this series legitimately changed my perspective in life on a lot of different things. ❤️ vinland saga, thank you for being one of my favorite reactors through this amazing series!
People havent said it yet but if we're talking emotional moments and amazing writing, mob psycho has to be the next one he checks out. Masterpiece throughout all 3 seasons.
Just began S3, it's so hilarious and surprisingly emotional. Reigen is a top10 character for me. Also, the technical aspects such as animation, sfx, compositing, VA etc are all top tier as well.
14:30 No King Sweyn anymore. Thorfinn got through to Canute. What a plot. Mf Yukimura and Isayama and so many others, how do these authors create exceptionally stunning stories like this, I can never understand. 14:43 One can never get enough of Vinland Saga appreciation. (Relatively) Underrated peak. 21:52 “Carve that encounter into me.” Always reminds me of the first episode’s end, when Einar narrates that this was how him and Thorfinn met. And to think this statement wrapped up virtually what was the finale of the arc is so, so pleasantly fulfilling. Not only the end of this arc, but also hopefully what is the beginning of the long arduous journey that awaits both of them ahead in this saga to the aspirable utopia, Vinland. Also, when Canute asked where will Thorfinn go to escape him, he replied, “Somewhere, but not here.” Now look back to the title of the very first episode of the show. I see some people be like “Okay we get it. He’ll run and make Vinland far away. Up until now it was good. What’s left, why continue it?” Not exactly their words but crudely amounts to this. And I just wonder why they think that it’s over. Of course, the end of this arc was something ideal. Everything turned out perfect. But not everyone is going to be Canute, and circumstances may not let him just up and leave every time. So will he have to fight, or if he’ll have to find some middle ground, and how will he go about tackling this issue on a bigger scale? We have so much left that I can’t wait for Season 3 to be announced! 33:53 You strived too much to be like Thorfinn. Now you forgot them like he did lol. 34:33 It’s tough to tell someone that you’ll really, really find this show worth it after 45 episodes, but anyone (like Swanii) who has watched these two episodes knows that it’s because of that whole journey that the simplest words now carry such weight. It’s as you said, Snake being Roald and Canute’s “I feel good.” doesn’t really matter one way or the other UNTIL you watch the whole thing and then suddenly it’s PEAK. 34:46 Now this might seem funny but hear me out. Grow a farm. xDxD Anyway, it’s not just a joke. I mean, you don’t have to buy 10 hectares of land to achieve what Einar told Canute to do. Just do it on a smaller scale. Even a plant in a pot will do. It’s the thought that matters, right? Take care of the plant every day. If it withers, sow/plant another one. Keep at it. It doesn’t matter if it gives you a fruit or a flower. It’s just there, but it still would be wonderful. Now I feel I kinda understand the old people who went about gardening hobbies and as a child I always thought there were much more interesting things to do than that. I haven’t done this yet properly, but I still think it’s a nice idea. Don’t tattoo the quote for permanence, it won’t be as much impactful, so do this active learning instead. Carve it in your mind! Keep up the good work!
his is really peak animation fr if u are a grown man, u just cant be indifferent to that story it hits so hard if only i could come close to what thorfinn is
This is the show that makes grown men cry like babies and it's right. And yes I agree, this is the best show I've seen period, nothing comes close for me.
Not being anime of the year is a crime even tho jjk was really good ofc but this is just on another level... I applaud the author and the great staff that worked on this masterpiece!
They definatly got some psychologists working on this show to figure out how to pull on our heartstrings the most i swear episode 20-24 are all tear jerking like no other show has done for me bar a few but not as much as this show
12:25, When Canute says you’ve become quite eloquent, and asks who he took after. I think that’s referring to Askeladd’s influence on him. He gained his kindness and philosophy from his father, but I think Canute is wondering if the way he speaks as an adult was inherited from Askeladd. That’s my interpretation anyway, feel free to disagree.
You've had the best reactions to this show! Thanks for doing these. The commentary and just the sheer compasion for what the series is about. It's entertaining to watch and also elevates the series itself. You've got a great personality for this! I've seen you take other people's recommendations for series, so just wanna share my top 10. As we seem to have similar taste: 1 - Attack on Titan. 2 - Berserk (the manga is by far the best way to experience it but there is a 90's anime and also a movie trilogy, covering the beginning of the story). 3 - Hunter x Huner 2011. 4 Naruto. 5 - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. 6 - Vinland Saga. 7 - Fate Zero. 8 - Kaiji Ultimate Survivor. 9 - Monster. 10 - Chainsaw Man. There is some additional manga in my top 10, if you ever decide to read manga: Kendo ankokuden Cestvs, Kingdom, Gantz, Holyland, Blade of The Immortal.
Here's mine: 1. Legend of the Galactic Heroes (80's OVA) 2. Space Brothers 3. Ashita no Joe 4. Monster 5. Vinland Saga 6. Mushishi 7. Hunter x Hunter 8. March Comes in Like a Lion 9. Aria Series 10. Always changes but I'll put Berserk even though the manga is ideal
@@Ash_Wen-li Thanks for sharing! I remember adding you on MAL before, so i've seen your picks. Remember watching around 15 episodes of Legend of The Galactic heroes. A lot of it went over my head tbh, as i wasn't a politically aware as i am now. Also i'm a bit of a slow reader, so the subtitles are a bit too fast for me compared to anime coming out today. The animation is also quite dated, but i do intent to revisit at one point. Only heard great things about it! Space Brothers is by the same author as Vinland Saga, so it is on my "plan to watch" list. Ashita no Joe might be too dated for me personally. If they made a remake i would definitely watch it! Megalo Box is kind of a remake, but i'm not a big fan of it. Monster is so good! It does have a lot of episodic episodes and i'm usually not into that. But Monster has some of the best stand-alone episodes i've ever watched! Mushishi is also pretty high for me. You kinda have to be in the right mood to watch it. Again i'm not that much into episodic series but Mushishi is an exception. It's definitely an underrated series! March Comes in Like a Lion, i haven't heard much about. Seems like a Slice of Life. Aria i've heard about before. Not personally into slice of life, i'm more into survival series personally. Though we all have our prefferences. Thanks for high-lighting Kaiji! I don't really care for gambling but Kaiji finds a way to make it extremely compelling. It also does have that "survival" factor, which i'm a sucker for. Life and death scenarios are just interesting to me. Seeing characters pushed to their limit. Kaiji really delves into the depths of what gambling can look like, as they gamble with their lives mulsiple times. Kaiji is also one of my favorite protagonists, as he is very flawed, keeps things real/relatable and in spite of it all is a very compassionate/great person. Out of all the series mentioned Kaiji gets the least amount of reactions and i wish more people would give it a try. It would be interesting to see people's reactions, given how intense the show can be and how likable Kaiji is as a person. But unfortunately it isn't popular enough for people to react to it.
This episode is one of the best things I've ever watched. I would say this anime is life changing. It's such an inspiration to become better and to aspire for a better future through pure humanity and one's selflessness. I love the look in Thorfinn's eyes at 16:43. That's pure conviction. We all know Thorfinn is not just talking about an ideal, he WILL make that happen. We all believe him 100%. That type of character development is simply golden, especially when knowing how he was in the first season. It doesn't get much better than that.
If you don’t wanna change yourself and the world after watching Vinland saga then im really sorry. I know im working to be the best version of myself on a daily. And that starts with honesty. Cried again for the 100th time watching this episode 🖤
Also i think we forget that canute was very religious as a child, so i think him knowing all the stories of the bible and jesus christ he see’s the similarities in real life with thorfinn. I want to see how the spread of christianity affects their world
You've been watching quite a few shallow trendy shonens on this channel so you've probably been used to surface level writing alongside top-notch animation, but if you enjoy vinland saga, there are a couple shows out there that offer slower pace and really good character writing, psychology, dialogue, or just generally deeper themes. Monster comes to mind with a similar writing to Vinland Saga S2, without much action, but in a different style fate/zero or or the monogatari series are shows that really reward people who pay attention and think about what's being said, and they have plenty of good fights too
There's some good shounens, that aren't just surface level. Personally i'd rate Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist above Vinland saga. Shounen doesn't automaticaly mean something is bad or less mature than seinen.
@@beastvicious8672 FMA is a masterpiece, SnK has good story beats but is really barebones character-wise (pretty much the opposite of vinland saga), HxH is hit or miss every arc, chimera ants being the only really exceptional arc. One Piece is also the single best story ever written, yet you'd struggle to find the type of character development VS has in it. But I never made a claim about shonen to begin with ; I was saying he watched the shallow trendy ones, like JJK or Demon Slayer. And since he likes Vinland Saga's writing style, seinen or generally more mature/osbcure shows is definitely something to consider.
@@vvey4523 Could you explain how Attack on Titan has bare-bones characters? Becouse i highly disagree. Some of my favorite characters of all time are from AoT. I disagree on Hunter x Hunter. There are good characters of every arc. Kurapica isn't even in the chimera ant arc and he's my 4'th favorite character of the series. I disagree on One Piece. It has a lot of flaws, which it's fans tend to ignore. The seinen/shounen debate is very up to interpretation. A lot of seinen are immature, where as lot of shounen have more realism. It really depends on the series.
@@beastvicious8672 Most attack on titan characters are basically one-note comic reliefs or just one gimmick characters. The girl who's hungry, the guy that says nothing, etc. Worst part is even the main characters are like that, Armin being the generic smart guy, Mikasa being the soulless girl that just thirsts after MC. The story is elaborate but the characters are absolutely bland, mostly because they were all meant to be killed to begin with and ended up overstaying their welcome
React to 86 PLEASE, seeing how you liked the second season of Peakland Saga you won't regret watching 86. I'll post this in every video and I usually don't comment, that's how good it is.

I've been waiting for your reaction to this episode, thank you🙏🏼
Carve it tattoo sounds dope
Sorry boss I have to take a break swanii just uploaded.
I knew you'd love vinland saga 😁 this is one of my fav shows period,
I believe Canute retreated because Thorfinn did more than just bargain for the farm, he made Canute question the very reason behind all what he was doing.
Thorfinn, however, has resolved the issue without a sword, thus becoming a true warrior
the ost and animation are really befitting of the manga.
Best reaction ❤ finally someone really understood how beautiful this season was
If it’s been said once, it’s been said a thousand times. Peakland Saga.
Good job putting our 3 Kings in the thumbnail
I just wanted to say this channel deserves so much more views... Your reaction has been a breath of fresh air honestly. I just love to see someone else that loves and cares to see the naunces and dept of this show. Great work man you've gained a new sub!
Its such a shame that season 2 didn’t win any awards in chrunchyroll anime awards. Makoto Yukimura deserves all the praise for this masterpiece.
hi swanii! as others have said this episode and the last are the two episodes ive been waiting for since you started the show! your reaction was the same as mine and i also got emotional during snakes name reveal.
there are so many good moments and dialogue in these last few episodes.
definitely has helped my mentality during my hard times and im glad you are able to appreciate it like me ☺️♥️
keep up the good work and im looking forward to the finale episode
we’re almost there :) ♥️
Wow your reaction is really amazing really very expressive, even though when I saw this anime all I knew was that this anime had a good story.
But when I saw it again from your reaction I really didn't expect that the story of this anime was so amazing
Swanii you are by far the best reactor I’ve ever seen. Its been so great seeing your development throughout the story and you also remind me of Thors haha
We're nearing the end of this incredible anime 💔
i absolutely love the story u told at 28:50 . vinland saga teaches real life lessons and it just goes to show that forgiveness is the way. revenge is the easy method but it only leads to more feelings of negativity and emptiness, true forgiveness is a lot harder but it’s so much more positive and fulfilling for a persons life. this series legitimately changed my perspective in life on a lot of different things.
Grow a farm. xDxD
Anyway, it’s not just a joke.
Keep up the good work!
i told you man back in season 1 this season is the absolute peak of media
his is really peak animation fr if u are a grown man, u just cant be indifferent to that story it hits so hard if only i could come close to what thorfinn is
Peak ❤
This is the show that makes grown men cry like babies and it's right.
And yes I agree, this is the best show I've seen period, nothing comes close for me.
11:18 “A warrior in a garden, not a gardener in a war” - Swanii VS 1x18
doesn't even have to be a tattoo
carve what you feel into your heart
True Peak has been reached.
LETS GET SWANII TO 10K SUBS HE DESERVES IT
Not being anime of the year is a crime even tho jjk was really good ofc but this is just on another level...
Yeah it's likely, Canute never knew Thors as far as we know, and eloquence was Askeladd's whole first method
Canute is definitely talking about Askeladd but the anime makes it ambiguous and allows the viewers to think about how he takes after both
You've had the best reactions to this show! Thanks for doing these. The commentary and just the sheer compasion for what the series is about. It's entertaining to watch and also elevates the series itself. You've got a great personality for this!
I've seen you take other people's recommendations for series, so just wanna share my top 10. As we seem to have similar taste:
1 - Attack on Titan.
Here's mine:
1. Legend of the Galactic Heroes (80's OVA)
2. Space Brothers
3. Ashita no Joe
4. Monster
5. Vinland Saga
6. Mushishi
7. Hunter x Hunter
8. March Comes in Like a Lion
9. Aria Series
10. Always changes but I'll put Berserk even though the manga is ideal
Also respect for putting Kaiji
Wow never expected to see someone recommending kaiji and monster. One of the best shows. He should definitely watch these 👌
You guys have really good taste. Space brothers and march comes in like a lion 👌
Thorfinn and einar going out telling people about vinland is like jesus and john the baptist going out and spreading the gospel
We back
This show is so magical
I've been wanting to get a tattoo of "carve that encounter into me" for a long time now, hope to get it eventually
Just peak
Peak
Also i think we forget that canute was very religious as a child, so i think him knowing all the stories of the bible and jesus christ he see’s the similarities in real life with thorfinn. I want to see how the spread of christianity affects their world
Lets gooo Vinland fans eating good
Btw the narrator is Thors.
AINT NO WAY 8 WANNA WATCH IT BUT I GOTTA SLEEP AUUUGHHH
14:05 true
It’s just so good.
I'm so glad this episode hits you like it does me... lol
@@vvey4523 Low IQ response, you don't understand the show or the characters. Stick to Dragon Ball.
And canute won't see his dad's head anymore
Got the YOUNGLA dripp haha lets go
I also want to get that tattooed
React to 86 PLEASE, seeing how you liked the second season of Peakland Saga you won't regret watching 86.
I'll post this in every video and I usually don't comment, that's how good it is.
would be an incedible in depth reaction from him for sure
