In the months following Pearl Harbor, the Imperial Japanese Navy conducted operations at sea, threatening British Royal Navy dominance in the area.
The most dangerous moment of the war, and the one which caused me the greatest alarm, was when the Japanese fleet was heading for Ceylon and the naval base there. The capture of Ceylon, the consequent control of the Indian Ocean, and the possibility at the same time of a German conquest of Egypt would have closed the ring and the future would have been black.

March 31, 1942, Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, her forces had overrun Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore, the Dutch East Indies, and Burma. Now the Imperial Japanese Navy and Army were heating up for an assault on India, the jewel in the British imperial crown.
The idea of watching the torpedo attacks from an observer aircraft's POV was really good. It added a lot to the immersion.
I agree, it really added a new perspective.

Another excellent video! As an Englishman I love seeing this campaign that shows some of the Royal Navy’s hard fought battles in the Pacific. Thank you for all your hard work and making this series so fun to watch.

@dreadnought014 He's good to watch, but Wolfpack seems to have far better control of his forces in War on the Sea. I watched Taff's first episode and he's more gung ho.
@@markstott6689This is what I’ve noticed with any war strategy game. I can only watch him play U Boat because he doesn’t make silly mistakes and understands real sub warfare tactics. It’s incredibly entertaining to watch.

The aerial view of the opening swordfish battle was a great, fresh change too!
The name of the city in present day is Kakinada (pronounced kuh-kee-nuh-da) though.

As other people have said, definitely more Catalina viewpoint shots for the torpedo runs, it feels real watching from a lookout as the ships are hit and begin filling the sky with black smoke, add a B+W filter to it and it would look like real footage 😂

A beautifully synchronised attack, the view from the catalina was also quite refreshing.
I have noticed that those little gun boats kill your planes faster than most other ships they are responsible for at least 4-5 in series so far

Yep. A battleship would sovereignly control the waters even against Japanese heavy cruisers. And even in case it never met Japanese ships, I believe a battleship would be invaluable support to marines/naval infantrymen making a landing on hostile shore.

It seems that the tide has turned. But big battles ahead.
The intros you make are always spot on perfect.
If you can't get a battleship, maybe some heavy cruisers or even a battlecruiser might be nice, for hunting IJN forces at night when your pilots are asleep. I really liked this episode - it has some awesome choices of camera angles.

Hmmm! Exciting thing to see before having to go to work in the UK morning! This Convoy has bitten off a great deal more than was expected. If you adopt a suggestion of protecting the seaports on India's and Burma's coastline you might be able to go out on the offensive. You may still go for your battleship! So my own considered suggestion might go aside.

Your penchant for attacking useless small targets and ignoring ‘concentration of firepower’ on the more important targets is frustrating to watch. The view of the attack from the perspective of the PBU was brilliant. It was a refreshingly new view.
ironic swordfishes could avoid Bismarck's AAA but japanese merchants and small DDs are too much
It's a mod, and the RNG in this game is questionable as is.

I don't understand why you bother attacking the small escorts, why not avoid them and focus on the capital ships and freighters and leave the chasers to their own devices?
I have respect in the fact you're just playing War on the Sea, let alone how far this campaign has come.
Many don't realise how flawed and broken this game is, which is a shame. As it has so much promise but, it has clearly been left to rot. As they are developing a new Atlantic game which unsurprisingly (Although I genuinely did hope they'd get it right) it has a tonne of flaws and meme worthy moments like WoS.
For instance, a destroyer one shotting a battleship with its main guns, which isn't even possible irl.
Unfortunately their games rely on RNG, over actual damage models and decent AI behaviour. Which means, throw tactics out the window as that does nothing.
The AI is broken, you'll have times as seen is this series, where you'll make a decent force, then bam subs out of nowhere and 3 hard to dodge torp shots. Again its pure RNG, as you are at the mercy of how the game spawns the engagement in and if you just so happened to have air cover at that random moment in time. In your case you did, which 100% without 90% at least of that fleet would have been doomed.
These meme goofy moments is the main reason other YT play it so little. It can be such a damn head bake to get through.
So I really do applaud your perseverance.

Quick question (love the series), why do you keep your torp bombers at such a low speed during approach? Does the game not scale the AA effectiveness up the slower the aircraft is moving (or the drop effectiveness down the faster it’s going)?
If only the US had such good success with its torpedoes. Based on the research I've been exposed to, at least 50 per cent were useless.
if under trop attack, the ships would so S pattern, this is ridiculous.
When attacking, would it be better to attack near 90° than 45-60° to shrink the airplane profile? Maybe lower dud rate?

Steam discussion, "Modding & Custom Content" subforum. There you can find pinned subject with all the info about what you need to do to play specific mod.
This game doesnt have official mod support so it is a bit more tricky.
